Well it wasn't going to be forever, though Donovan admitted it was going to a long several years no doubt. He nodded at this, statement.
"I am planning that yes," he replied, "But now the question becomes, who gets referred to for shifts now that Elros isn't here?"
It had always been Elros and Celeborn, and someone had to be keeping track of it especially now that a whole group of fighters left for a hunt.
Stepping in Lin laughed, she had forgotten that, so he was twenty-five... it was sort of weird knowing in a way she grew up with him.
"Good point," she chuckled looking around, "But still, that was surprising."

Timaeus chuckled at Lin. "Lots of changes around here," he grinned. "Lots." He paused just before closing the door, hearing Miyu out in the hallway, and poked his head out the door again. "Miyu?" he said in a questioning tone. Then his eyes lightened in understanding. "Ah ... right. Changes." He cleared his throat softly. "Um ... Aragost also has a different room now ..."
Haradhel smiled at Donovan. "I would have thought Triton would have told you about them," she said softly. "We've hired on two new fighters, a man and a woman. Celeborn is now in charge of the fighters in general, but the three of them take the children back to their homes together."
She glanced back towards the kitchen, then turned back to Donovan. "Would you like to meet them right now?"
Alyse laughed at Feng and Naida, shifting her nephew on her back. "Yes, yes, we'll play. Come on, then." She giggled and led the troupe from the house, across the yard towards the two-floored building.
"Coming?" Aliya smiled at Amdir.
He shook his head. "I should get to the ranch," he said apologetically. "People understand excuses ... horses don't." He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'll be back for lunch," he assured her; and with a quick hug they parted ways, Amdir turning west, and Aliya south with the others.

"Yay!" Naida squealed as she, her mother and her uncle went along with Alyse, "We're going to play...."
Ryu sighed a bit and shook his head, "Can you imagine how much trouble she's going to get into when she learns to walk?" "We couldn't get very far until we were teens," Feng pointed out to Ryu, "It won't be that bad." "So says the woman who ran after a squirrel and turned back into a mer half way through."
"Mi?" Miyu looked up to see Timaeus there.
She remembered him... sort of. She didn't get to see a lot of Timaeus even when he was a child.
"A d-different room?"

"Ah..." Donovan replied, "But he did, which was why I didn't ask who is filling in for Elros and in the future possibly Aragost. I only asked who gets referred to, but if it's with Celeborn then nothing will change, but I'm guessing it might mean he won't go on the hunts now?"
After all to go and be gone again was tiring, which was why Elros never went on a hunt but took children home. He paused a bit thinking on it, he should meet with them.
"And I would like to meet them now."
Since he was going to be talking to Celeborn later anyways.
Lin bit back a sigh, it wasn't that she was aggverated by Miyu's skittish behaviour it was endearing. However, it was sometimes hard to believe someone who was six foot tall and had the ability to turn a person into a popsicle could be scared by everyone so easily.

Alyse smiled at Feng and Ryu, listening to their debate despite her nephew's constant chattering in her ear.
"Look at the bright side," she pointed out to the twins, "at least when she wanders off on her own, there's a far smaller chance of her being kidnapped for slavery than there is here. Of course, the risk here is going down every day, but still. It's there."
"Bad mans," Ecthelion agreed. "But they can't get me!" He giggled.
Timaeus chuckled softly at Miyu. "He wanted a room with more light ... not that I blame him. But I'll let him tell you the story. He's still upstairs, further down the hallway than before - right to the very end, the last door on the right. He should be in there now."
He paused, then added, "And Miyu ... the woman who's in his old room ... she's really very nice. You don't have to be scared of her."
Haradhel nodded and headed towards the door, knowing that Donovan would follow. "Celeborn insists on going on the trips as well," she told him, "but there's always time for him to rest before he takes the children home. After all, there's always at least a week between the children arriving and getting them sorted out and patched up enough to be sent home."

The twins looked at each other and nodded in agreement at this. Especially in their birthworld they were always allowed in unsupervised.
"True, kidnapping at least isn't something we have to worry about," Ryu commented. "Why can't they get you?" Naida inquired wondering if Ecthelion had some cool secret behind that.
Miyu blinked, as far as she could remember his room tended to be dark unless someone came to visit him. She didn't know quiet why that was, but she had assumed he didn't mind it like that. Though being reminded of the lady, she looked upstairs again.
"Mi........."
She couldn't help it, people made her nervous for some odd reason. It was a feeling that didn't seem to quite go away.
"Okay."

Following Haradhel, Donovan nodded at this. Well this was true, it would take a while before going out again, though sometimes he wondered if Celeborn wasn't overworking himself.
Ah well... Celeborn would know what he could and could not do.
"I see," he murmured, "At least he gets rest."

Timaeus grinned at Miyu. "Go on, you can't miss it. And if you can't go on your own, I'll be here to take you if you need me."
He left his door open to show her she was welcome back if she needed him, then headed into his apartment and turned his attention to Lin instead. "So what do you think?" he grinned.
It was one of the larger apartments, like his parents', though it wasn't quite as large as theirs. The first room was simple - fireplace, table, a few cupboards, desk and a comfortable-looking chair - and besides that, there was only one other room - his bedroom.
Ecthelion grinned at Naida. "Because Daddy wouldn't let them!" he beamed. "Daddy is strong, Daddy knows big magic!"
Alyse nodded her agreement. "The same magic he learned from Aragost when we were little," she explained. "He's teaching Ecthelion the same ... Aragost helps out now and then, though he makes Ecthelion a little uncomfortable." She smiled. "Still, it's nice that he takes the time to come out here once in a while."
"Trust me," Haradhel smiled warmly at Donovan, "he sees it quite the opposite. He wishes he could do more. Keep in mind, this is what life out here is like - there is little true rest ... just wait, you'll see an example of what I mean."
She opened the door of the barracks for them and nodded for him to lead the way inside.

Feng was surprised to hear that, normally all the children seemed to like Aragost to some degree. Adan wouldn't stop talking about Ara-kun at all and Miyu was pretty much the same way. There were others of course, so that really did surprise her.
"That is good," Feng smiled watching the two children.
"Oh...." Naida murmured ubt not quite understanding what big magic meant.
Miyu sighed and looked up the stairs again, she was really going to have to learn she thought to herself as she trekked back up the stairs. She wished she could glide along the ground like the way her Uncle and Father did if they wanted to use their wings but her flight magic wasn't so good.. probably went along with having small wings.
Quietly as she could though, she crept down the hallway towards the last door. Trying not to twidle her fingers, she knocked.

"This is really neat," Lin grinned looking around, "And you can still join yoru family for supper if you're all off shift at the same time."
True it wasn't as large as theirs but for just one person she knew this was more than enough. It put him close to his family still, but now he was technically living on his own.
"How long has it been?"
Donovan stepped in looking down both hallways, he didn't see the girls, but he was sure he heard a slight mi-ing coming from the top floor. He probably didn't want to know what set that one off this time.
"Where are their rooms?"

Timaeus grinned. "It's nice. I still can't cook nearly as well as Mother or Ada, so I really like that I can still eat with them, even though I live on my own. And hey, if I ever find a girl and settle down ..." He shrugged, grinning. "At least I already have a home for us."
He had to think about how long ago he had moved here, but finally he replied, "I've lived here ... I guess nearly nine years now, since shortly after I became an adult. Not long after your last visit."
Haradhel looked towards the ceiling, also hearing MIyu's soft sounds of fright, and smiled at Donovan. "Elros and Aragost's old rooms," she replied softly. "Which ... it sounds like Miyu has discovered already." She motioned for him to follow her down the hall, lighting the way with a fistful of fire.
There was only a slight delay before the door to Aragost's new quarters opened, and Aragost himself stood in the doorway, cloaked as always in black, his cowl low over his face - but this time, he was framed by the sunlight which was streaming in through two windows - one on each outside wall. Hanging in the window on the southern wall was the star that Miyu had sent him the last time Lin had visited - though just how it was staying up was anyone's guess.
"Miyu," he said softly, his voice softer than ever before, though it was filled with pleasure - and even pride.
Ecthelion giggled and held his hands up above Alyse's head, leaning forward to balance his movements. "See?" he beamed as the space between his hands began to glow softly, then brighter.
Suddenly the glowing faded, and his expression turned to shock. "Hey!"
From just ahead of the group came a giggle. A now-fifteen-year-old Rhea was sitting on the ground, staff held in one hand and pointed towards the group. Her hazel eyes were sparkling with mischief, her long black hair braided and pooled on the ground behind her.
"Rhea," Whisper reprimanded her softly, lying on the ground next to her. "Stop teasing your cousin."
Her pale yellow eyes turned to Cindy for help.

Beside Rhea sat a young woman whom for the most part didn't look like she changed overly that much. Except her hair was much longer, braided loosely and she had clothes more fitting for the world she currently lived in. She sighed a bit.
"Rhea..." she gave the young lady a look.
"Auntie Cindy!" Naida waved like a squirrel on sugar, "We came to visit you!"
The little mer girl was nearly half hanging out of her mother's arms, at least Feng was trying to keep Naida in her arms.
Miyu smiled brightly looking up, forgetting now why she had been so nervous going down that hallway. It was a joy really for her to have some visiting time with Yami-san.
"Yami-san!"

Donovan chuckled as he followed Haradhel, "Yes, so it does. Poor kid, and it isn't even because everyone is bigger than her."
Really true most people here were, but not by a huge amount, which kind of answered the question if it was really height that made Miyu skitter.
"And that was a while ago," Lin admitted to Timaeus, "Nine years... it's kind of weird, because looking at each other we could honestly say we grew up with each other, but you're still technically far older than me... time wise."

Timaeus grinned at Lin. "How old are you now, anyways?" he asked curiously, motioning for her to take a seat. "I mean, you've been coming here since long before I was born ... and I see it looks like you've finally grown to adulthood as well." He chuckled softly.
Haradhel smiled ruefully at Donovan. "Well ... it's a disposition, I suppose. But I'm sure she'll be fine as soon as she spends a bit more time with Aragost. He's good for her, really. Though I'm still not sure how she became so attached to him." She laughed softly. He was the scariest person on the ranch, hands down, and yet the most timid person Haradhel had ever met (barring Adonijah) was his most avid admirer.
Rhea looked evenly back at Cindy. "Rose doesn't like him using that spell anyways," she reminded her teacher matter-of-factly. "Especially around other people."
Her wit had obviously grown just as much as her beauty, though there were times when she used the truth to her advantage.
"Besides," she added, "I'm not using it myself, and I'm not even really channeling it through the staff ... so it means I'm doing it correctly."
Whisper sighed softly. "Even I can't argue that," she murmured quietly. She rubbed her face with her paw, then padded over to Feng and Ryu, circling them and looking up at them curiously. "You have a similar smell to Triton," she said softly, "but ... more watery. Fishy even."
Aragost reached forward and pulled Miyu close for a gentle hug, letting it linger for longer than he ever had before before he released her and stepped aside.
"Come in," he said softly, sweeping one arm towards the room invitingly.

Cindy couldn't argue with that, even though she, Whisper and Rhea knew that Rhea did have an impish streak in her.
"Yes, I know, but you could have just told him to stop.... he needs to learn too."
Having magic disappear on you was not learning, though she had to admit Rhea was right.
"Well... seeing as we're normally half fish, that isn't surprising," Ryu commented looking down at Whisper.
It was quite curious, but then again he recalled Whisper had never seen others, except Cindy and Triton.
Walking in, Miyu could see what Timaeus meant by more light, there was far more light in here than there was in his last room. She looked around, and couldn't help but peek out the window.
"So pretty..."
