And the ki dissipated as she passed her hand through the hot flame produced by her own willpower. She sighed softly. She was pretty sure she could continue to form the flame. That was fresh on her mind. And as she stared into her open palm, she watched the fire flicker to life out of thin air. And it was satisfying. She was glad she could at least do this now. She had a feeling that this could play a very large roll in all her techniques to come. Once again, she placed her hand on her arm and slid it --faster now-- down her arm.

Control yourself, Arin. Control. She decided to try something new. THIS obviously wasn't working. She focused the energy instead into her right hand, forming a ball of fire in her palm and holding it gently. She aimed at the tree in front of her, cocked her arm back like she was going to throw a punch, closing her hand into a fist, palm up at her waist and letting the purple flames engulf her hand. With a feral yell, she aimed a punch at the tree, hoping for the best.

And it was the best that she received. The ball of flames turned into a drill as she blasted it forward. It pierced through the tree and left a burned ring in the bark. The sap didn't even run. It had been scorched still. She laughed as she observed the two-inch hole she had made in the wood, amazed at how little time it had taken her to complete the technique. But she still needed practice. She wanted to be able to do two at once. And she would, she swore to herself. She would have this technique perfected by the end of the night... Only twenty hours away. Her hands were at her waist. One on each side. She closed them into fists and felt the fire burst to life. She drove both her fists forward with a mighty roar.

And the flames blast forward,forming two spiraling arrows before they disappeared into and through the tree, burning two equal holes in the wood as they bored through. She laughed again with glee. It was such an un-saiyan emotion, but it was so amazing that she was capable of this now. And it had only taken her a couple of hours from conception to realization! She was ecstatic. And all that was left was just one more blast to make sure she hadn't been dreaming. At the moment, she was entertaining the thought that she had been knocked unconscious by the tiger and was being devoured at this very instant. This could all just be a figment of her imagination. And wouldn't that suck? The flame wrapped itself around her fist and she sent it flying forward once more. It collided with the tree and struck another hole in the wood. YES!!! She leaped in the air and banged her fist into the sky. She had done it. She had not been dreaming. She could do something completely beyond nature, and she was on her way to becoming the powerful saiyan she knew she would be.

She smiled, feeling more powerful than ever before. And she was. She was far superior to anything she had been before, now that she could control her ki like this. She could destroy something and they would never even know it until they were riddled with so many holes it was ridiculous. She grinned to herself. This was going to be very useful in the future. In fact... Her stomach was grumbling. It had been two hours of training since her last meal... She sighed, standing up and walking into the forest again.

Hair: Arin's black hair is just short of her shoulders, falling into a straight bob running along her jawline.
Eyes: Arin's eyes are black and piercing, never seeming to relax.
Physical Description: Arin's figure is great, her breasts are on the smaller side, while her hips are strong. Her arms and legs have a sharp but graceful, muscular build. Her skin is surprisingly pale for someone with no home.
Clothing: Arin wears a battered suit of Saiyan armor, with a long black undersuit that clings to every curve. The Armor's pads are an almost black purple, and the normally white part of the armor is a lighter, but still dark, purple. It bears the scar of a tiger's claw slashed across the left section of the chest.
Background: Arin was born on planet Vegeta. She was exiled on Nexum after she was found to be a middle-class warrior. For some reason, her upper-class parent's pride just couldn't take that disrespect. So she was abandoned. She grew up believing that she was simply abandoned by a family on Nexum, although she didn't much care. Her pride wouldn't let her go crawling back to parents who didn't want her. So she grew up in the wilderness between Humantown and Saiyantown.
Personality: Arin is generally withdrawn and focused with single-minded intensity on her pursuit of power.
Other: Arin has only one goal: To find and destroy her parents. She trains every day just so that one day she might have that chance.

An aura will develop around the user if they surpass their resting ki rate. Auras can displace solid matter, so it's a good idea to think through it before powering up to full strength in the middle of a flimsy building. (just a suggestion.) Ki causes damage to inanimate objects (that the user is not protecting or keeping out of this effect) at a rate of 1 hp damage per 2 kp over resting rate. Just how it happens depends on personal preference. This damage has a radius of [ki mod] feet around the user. It does not harm people.

Special: Can only be procured at a Saiyan's shop. No other race will have a suit of this armor for sale, because no Saiyan would give it up, unless their pride had forced them to remove it and they got killed, or similar, but that's not important. The point stands: Only at Saiyan stores.

Name: Standard Scouter
Type: Ki Scanner
Description: This is the most basic scouter on the market, excluding antiques. It allows a person to read apparent power levels to the mark. Unfortunately, it will explode if a power level is over 25,000.
In-Game Stats: Allows a person to read apparent power levels, in the original Saiyan language, unless specially made for a different language, or modified with a repair DC of 100.
Damage: 15 damage to the person wearing the scouter if they try to read a power level of more than 25,000, from the explosion.
Requirements: None, except it must be purchased from a Saiyan store.
Special: A Saiyan with appropriate background may begin at creation with a scouter without spending a technique on it, although they are not allowed to have the skills sense ki or conceal ki at creation.

Arin walked through the forest for hours, trying to find her lunch. She was blissfully unaware of the tiger that was stalking her. She pushed a button on her scouter and got a power reading: 170... The same power level as the tiger she had fought earlier. Could this by chance be its ally? Its sibling? She pondered this as she walked. Finally, she turned her back to the tiger to lure it out. As soon as she sensed that the animal was coiling for a strike, she did, as well. She drove her ki into the ground and leaped back towards the animal with her fist cocked back and ready to kill. She ducked and dodged the double-clawed strike of the animal, driving her fist into its iron chest. It was sent flying. She wasn't going to let the damn thing touch the ground alive.

((Tiger gets one last strike as it's flying into the air. First roll is Tiger. Second and third rolls are Arin's ki shots.))

And as the Tiger slashed at Arin's arm, it was drawn out of range. It managed to cut her hand, but it flew ten feet into the air and rolled just in time to watch Arin burst into flame. With the fear that she saw in its eyes at that moment, it could have been sentient. But that face irritated her. It showed fear. That meant that it was weak. Weakness was death. And so she burst her left hand forward, blasting a spike of flame through the tiger's chest. She swung her right hand towards the still-thinking animal and blew its head completely away. The body fell to the earth in a seared heap. Too easy...

Arin plunged her hand into the meat and pulled out a hunk of cooked meat. It's so much better this way, I think. She bit into the meat and closed her eyes as she ate. It was certainly better this way. She laughed, patting the carcass beside her. She sighed softly, swallowing the small amount she had eaten and reached down, ripping a leg off of the creature. Biting into this was different, but it was just food. She took a breath before continuing, ripping into the food tenaciously.

Arin followed her scouter through the trees, searching for this power's source. Even a weak power level like that might have some use for fun. Anything to divert her from this endless slaughter of tigers. And as she ran through the woods, she wondered at what this might be. It could be just another tiger, but she had suspicions that it might be something a little more interesting.

And Tatopa was searching the same. He figured that anything with a power level of 204 had to be interesting. And if he couldn't recruit it, he would kill it, maybe even eat it. He had no doubts that this was a sentient being... In fact, he was relying on that. Otherwise, he was just chasing a wild animal, and his pride wouldn't allow him to be caught being tricked by some half-witted beast And then they entered the same clearing. Tatopa stood staring at what must have been a feral Saiyan. He didn't even think there were any saiyans that lived in this wilderness besides himself... And the fact that it was a woman... That was even more surprising, considering their rarity.

He stood with regal posture, his muscles etched like stone, silent waiting for her to speak.


What the hell is some idiot doing in my woods? These are mine. Arin stood, glaring at the boy, her hands open into claws. Her eyes communicated very well what she wanted to say. Get out.

Tatopa watched her, staring a challenge back at her. "Do you speak Saiyan? Human? Either way, you should speak Nexum Basic." He said each language's name in its own language. "I am here to recruit you. I am a very powerful saiyan warlord, and I feel that you would be useful to me. I can give you a pod, and we can leave here to conquer a planet to establish as our base. All that you need to do to join me and conquer the Universe and everyone in it... Is bow. You will stand at my right hand. If you prove yourself worthy, we might even rule together."

It didn't sound bad... Until he said that she would be his subordinate. She would not stand for that. The punishment for that insult was a death sentence. Her right hand tightened into a fist, and she appeared in front of him with speed befitting a wild animal, aiming a punch at the flexible armor covering his gut.

Special: This technique allows the user to pull their inactive ki to the active state at a rate of [ki mod + ki control] per turn.

An aura will develop around the user if they surpass their resting ki rate. Auras can displace solid matter, so it's a good idea to think through it before powering up to full strength in the middle of a flimsy building. (just a suggestion.) Ki causes damage to inanimate objects (that the user is not protecting or keeping out of this effect) at a rate of 1 hp damage per 2 kp over resting rate. Just how it happens depends on personal preference. This damage has a radius of [ki mod] feet around the user. It does not harm people.

Technique Name: Ki shot
Description of Jutsu: allows the user to form a ball of their ki that can be thrown/shot at their opponent. This is one of the most basic forms of attacking with ki, as it only requires a loosely-formed ball/beam/arrow/projectile (depending on your specialty/preference) of energy and the ability to move your arm (or not, as it were)

Special: Can only be procured at a Saiyan's shop. No other race will have a suit of this armor for sale, because no Saiyan would give it up, unless their pride had forced them to remove it and they got killed, or similar, but that's not important. The point stands: Only at Saiyan stores.

Name: Standard Scouter
Type: Ki Scanner
Description: This is the most basic scouter on the market, excluding antiques. It allows a person to read apparent power levels to the mark. Unfortunately, it will explode if a power level is over 25,000.
In-Game Stats: Allows a person to read apparent power levels, in the original Saiyan language, unless specially made for a different language, or modified with a repair DC of 100.
Damage: 15 damage to the person wearing the scouter if they try to read a power level of more than 25,000, from the explosion.
Requirements: None, except it must be purchased from a Saiyan store.
Special: A Saiyan with appropriate background may begin at creation with a scouter without spending a technique on it, although they are not allowed to have the skills sense ki or conceal ki at creation.
