Lorien nodded her head. "Alright." She sort of looked sad a bit thinking that this might not end well for him. "Well whatever happens remember that you have others here back at the house who love you and appreciate you." She paused. "Although I don't know if I should say that since I don't know too much about you in general besides you want to go back to Rome to find answers."

Maximus turned and looked silently at Lorien, trying to read her. His ears flipped back a little as he spoke. "No I don't. My owner likes me, but other than her... I'm not exactly the best conversationalist, according to sources." His mouth pusred though. "Really... The only other who seems to care what happens to me... is you." He leaned over and licked her cheek appreciativly. "Thank you."

Lorien chuckled a bit nervously while looking down. "Oh it's alright. I'm really not that much of a conversationalist myself, but I don't mind small talk here and there." She paused for a second as he licked her. "Well...um...you're welcome." Man what was she thinking? It was like she wanted to say something to him, but she couldn't force it out since she seemed clumsy when it came to showing full blown emotions to someone she cared about. "I'm sorry...I just grew up on my own since..." She trailed off for a bit not wanting to mention too much of her past to Maximus. It wasn't the best of topics to talk about and no one should of had to go through it. "Well I never showed great emotions to anyone."

Maximus smiled gently. "Emotions. There is a difference between having emotions and being emotional. According to you, your past allowed for neither. I understand." He shook his head. "There is nothing to apologize for."

Lorien paused for a moment. "Thanks...you're so understanding." She stared out the window at the trees passing by. "Say Maximus, how good at you at keeping secrets that should not be repeated?"

Unblinking, Maximus turned to face Lorien directly, eyes and voice serious. "You could trust me with the location of a dinosaur bone." He'd heard dinosaur bones were huge! Who would be able to resist digging once they discovered the location? "If you so desire, what you tell me will never pass through my mouth even after the end of days."

Lorien for a second hesitated since she was way off the topic, but sighed. "No...nevermind. It's not about dinosaur bones." She smiled, but yet was a bit sad inside. How could she be so foolish to tell him everything about her past especially since she didn't want to trigger a deep conversation and she wasn't even sure how he would react since some didn't like dramatic stories. "Well are we almost there?" She yipped happily while wagging her tail.

This time, Maximus did blink. Then smiled. "I didn't think it'd be about a bone. It was a reference." He cocked his head before giving a small nod. "If you ever wish to talk later, my ears are open." At her question, he looked out the window. "Actually, here we are." When the driver opened the door for them, a loud whistle filled the cab, making Maximus wince. "What in devil made that noise?!" He yelled, diving out of the vehicle. He stared in wide-eyed wonder at the trains before him. Rows and rows of them! "Well, I'll be..." He wispered in awe.

Lorien turned around to Maximus. "Thanks I..." She watched as he darted out. She hesitated a bit before going out to look at the trains. "Wow...they do look like how I read them." She cocked her head to the side. "So which one is ours?"

Maximus turned in suprise to Lorien. "You've read of these things? Why didn't you tell me they were so gigantic?" He wasn't scolding her, simply in shock of something so huge. And the idea that it could possibly ever move even an inch! Nodding to her question, he turned and asked the driver, who lead them through a tunnel that walked over a few rows of trains, stairs deviating down every couple rows. The man lead them down one of these sets and up to a sleek white bullet shaped train. "Fastest one we've got, dear doggies." The driver said boastfully as he set their two bags away. Maximus rolled his eyes at being called a 'doggy' before thanking the man and hopping into their cabin.

Lorien nodded her head. "That they are." She followed Maximus and the human to the train they would board.

Maximus' tail was wagging as he bounced onto his seat. He felt like a child almost, both from the excitement he was feeling and the sheer mass of such a machine. It was like a moster had eaten them both. "Do these things really go as fast as they say?" He inquired to Lorien as he looked out the small window to the platform as people bustled about to get to their own trains on time.

Lorien was rather amused by this side of Maximus and actually thought he was cute. "Well they say they do travel very fast and they cannot break on short notice, so yes I will say so. If the velocity is really high then that's half the reason why it is so fast."

Maximus looked at Lorien a moment before nodding. "If you say so, it must be true." -A voice over the speaker said for everyone to take their seats.- "Here we go. Ready?" He curled up on the seat, tail tucked close.

Lorien nodded her head. "Of course I'm ready. I'm ready since you first told me about his journey." She was excited deep down since she never was away from the continent before or on a train neither.
