"Nice to meet you Joy." He nods, then points at the complex, it's near town, four stories, a really nice building with equally nice appartments. "Here we are." he nods at the enterance and opens it for her. "The landlady lives to the left." That said, he turns to the right. "I was nice meeting you Joy." He begins to walk. Something about her was making his instinct tell him she was real trouble, his instinct has never been wrong since he learned to feel it from his Wu Shu teacher.
His eyes narrow as he stops, deciding on something. he stops and turns, wearing a smile. "I live right there," he points at his door, "call if you need something." Through the mask of his smile, he wonders what it is that bothers him. She seemed, off somehow. He was more then fifty percent sure 'Joy' wasn't her real name, but speaking without proff or knowing what you might provoke is unwise, sometimes downright stupid.
"Is there anything elde you need," he enquires. In his head, he continues to ponder before admonsihing himself. He would stay on guard, but if he acted oddly too, things might spiral downwards. He was a great actor, he could handle this. If all else fails, he can subdue her, but if it comes to that, he'd rather just not get involved.

Rachael yawned and got out of bed. "Ok, nap times over..." She strugled into a sweater and started downstairs. Walking into the kitchen she puts water on for tea then fixes herself a sandwich while she waits for her water to boil in the kettle.

Teagan ran down the stairs, her headphones hung around her neck blaring loud basses and guitar riffs of her current musical decision. She jumped the last three stairs, a small grin on her face as she headed towards the kitchen. She spun around at the bottom of the stair case, almost knocking over some girl she knew she'd never seen before.
"Ooops, watch it, kido." She said, brushing her shaggy red hair away from her freckled face before waltzing into the kitchen.
"Hey Rachael." She said, grabbing an apple before hopping up onto the counter. She took a big bite of her peice of fruit, careful not to let the sweet juices run down her chin as she sat there swinging her feet back and forth a bit.
And with that the song changed, softer, more melodic than the last.
Teagan chewed slowly on the apple, looking around the room. She hadn't really noticed how much things had changed. The students who had been at the Institute were changing, Penny had disappeared, there were students here and there now, and the headlines of the newspaper always told some tale of a death. She'd given up on reading the newspaper. She had almost even given up on trying to find a light in the dark world, until she realized she needed to create her own light. At first she thought it was pathetic, but slowly she began to remember that despite what people thought...not all mutants were bad. And the hope that one day they could be excepted in society and not have to fear that they may get killed...that was enough to keep her going.
She shook her head as she heard the song change again, realizing she had spaced out. She chuckled to herself, taking another bite of her apple.

Teagan wasn't the only one spaced out. Hands wrapped around her steaming mug she failed to notice her come in. "Wha?" She jumped. "Oh, hey Teagan. What's new?" She took a sip of her tea. "Want some, the water in the kettle should still be nice and hot..."

"Thanks but no thanks, hun. I think I'll pass on the tea." She said, tossing the apple core into the garbage. She jumped off the counter, stretching before adjusting her black t-shirt.
"Eh, nothing is new these days. Everything's redundant. Same ole, same old. You know?" She said, glancing over her shoulder at Rachael, shrugging.
"Attitudes and faces are about all that is new around here." She laughed, leaning against the counter, folding her arms over her chest as her CD slowly faded to an end, causing her to reach into her pocket and turn the player off.

She nodded sadly. "Tell me about it, the news is always the same, so I only watch the weather..." She yawned. "Things have been tough...but hopefully it'll start to get beter....." That was wishful thinking at its best. "Not that it seems likely...." She got up and cracked her back. "Well the tunnel I've been digging is all done that means I'm at loose ends....than god...it takes days to clean the dirt out from under my nails...and as much as I love caves, I was getting closterphobic..."

Teagan laughed softly, picking at the chipping black enamle on her nails as she shook her head.
"You really are an interesting girl, Mole." She said, walking towards the cabinets. She pushed herself up on her tip toes, cursing the height of the cabinets, grabbing a cup. She smiled victoriously, glad she didn't have to resort to climbing ontop of the cabinet as she walked over to the fridge pulling out a soda.
"But you know...I think, eventually things will start letting up. Or perhaps we're both just wishful thinkers." She said, glancing at Rachael as she popped the tab of the soda, pouring the liquid into her cup before taking a refreshing sip.

"If you think I'm interesting you should meet my friend Cathy." She said smiling, she then frowned. "Speaking of the sneak theif, where did she disapear to...I like to keep tabs on her when she's around...." She nodded with a chuckle. "Probably just wishful thinking, but hey, hope for the best but be prepaired for the worst. Words of wisdom from my Uncle..."

"No, nothing. Thank you for your help," She answered instead of saying what she was really thinking: A shot to the head. Sleep. Despite the caffeine in her system, maybe sleep will rest that conscience and make it go away. She needed it to go away. There was work to do.
The land lady was not giving her a very easy time about renting a small apartment. Jade has no ID, never needed one. She plunked down several thousand in cash on the woman's desk, "I will pay up front in cash. You will have no trouble from me."
The woman shut up at the sign of the cash. Deadbeats with no ideas pay in checks that bounce. Jade was obviously not one.
Good. A place to stay... for now. Until things are done. And it was a place she wouldn't need to put an ear to the ground all night long and listen for people in the hallways.

Opening his door and closing it behind him, he wonders what he should do know. Looking down at his left hand, he sees gel start to form over his fingers, creeping towards his palm. "......" Good answer. Changing into green shorts and a t-shirt, he grabs a palm sized item off the counter as he head for the roof, locking up behind him.
On the stairs, he looks at the item he grabbed, a broken key, the one to the roof. He jams it in when he's on the roof, keeping anyone from opening the roof door while he trains. Standing on the roof, he forms a sword made of gel, and begins swinging.

"Racheal, Teagan," Morgan said softly, nodding to each one in turn as he entered the kitchen. Then, without another word, he set about preparing his dinner. It was a simple meal, just a bowl of rice and cup of tea, but it was enough to sate his hunger. Placing the utensils and dishes in the sink, Morgan silently departed the kitchen, heading towards the Danger Room for his usual solo training.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raze, on the other hand, had maintained his devil-may-care attitude, and had become one of the most well-like people in the institute, even by people on seperate teams. Most of the time he could be found hanging in the den, and watching some sort of mindless action flick, or playing the latest videogame. Of course, some people still had the impression that he was hiding something, but they wrote it off to simple paranoia. His control over his powers had increased a lot in the past year, to the point where he would sometimes leave his gloves behind, and not risk setting everything on fire. Of course, he still didn't have full control over it, so he usually kept his fireproof handwear on his hands.

Markus was in the danger room already, but was starting to wind up his work out. With a grunt he cut down another simulated opponent. "Mission sucessful..." The simulation? Get in, kill selected target and get out without notice. He had gotten in, killed his objective target and got out without notice, he had opted to terminat the last guard though....he asked one to many questions. "Simulation...end..." He said and the room returned to its usual appearence. Walking out he noted Morgan coming down the hall. "Morgan..." He said simply stepping aside for him to pass.

"Okay, see that is one of the things that's changed around here for...well...I can't tell if it's changed for the better of for the worse!" Teagan said, sighing as she watched Morgan come and go without a single word to them besides his short greeting.
She scratched her head, hopping back up onto the counter, taking another sip of her soda. She looked up at the ceiling, letting out a long sigh.
"What were you saying about a theif?" She said, finally snapping back, looking over at Rachael.

"Hey Morgan..." She said as he came in and just as quickly went out. "Bye Morgan..." She nodded. "I know, I know I shouldn't think like that...but it's hard...especially in light of whats been happening over the past year." She laughed softly. "Oh, my friend Cathy is a compulsive theif...but I don't think she's around....which worries me....cause that usually means she's getting herself into trouble...."
