Ashierra kept her eyes forward, smothering a smirk as she felt Alek come up next to her. "I used to. I'd been looking for a home for some time. Decided to settle here for a bit." She peeked over at him. "What about you? Are you the travelling sort?"

"Ah." Alek walked side to side with Ashierra but kept his gaze on the sea. A small shudder of something passed through him as he realized that she might really just want a home instead of traveling. 'Never can hold a companion for long.' He thought with a silent sigh before nearly jumping at her last question.
Alek had to force down the dark expression that threatened to over take his features before daring to attempt replying. "Oh, Ashy, I guess I am." He laughed and looked over at Ashierra with a playful smirk, "Certain places feel like a home some days yet others...So yes, I really do feel like traveling most of the time." He shrugged, "My true intentions are still a mystery even to me."
A chuckle, "But no worries! Adventure makes up everything that I may not know yet!" Alek purred and looked back over to the sea, "What's the point in me finding a home when I could always be seeing new things?"

Though she couldn't see it, she felt Alek's sudden change. By the time she looked over at him, the darkness had gone. She kept her face stoic as she listened to his playful words. What was behind that smile that had chilled the air so? "I don't know really." She said thoughtfully. "I kinda like the idea of having a place to call my own. Travelling... It's a wonderful freedom. But knowing I always have a spot to come to if I got tired of it all, someplace familiar, is a comfort to me." She caught herself before she could become melancholy. Home... Familiar... It brought back thoughts of her homeland. Thoughts she didn't want. So her face remained blank, also fighting the urge to smile at the pleasure Alek's purr gave her.

“I don’t know.” Replied Alek softly while he took a stray strand of Ashierra’s hair and tucking it back behind her soft ear. His expression quickly flickered with torn feelings. “Not all familiar places called homes can give comfort.” He whispered faintly in her ear before pulling back with a laugh. “Talk about all the cleaning I’d have to do when I would finally return after all! It‘d be a fight alright!”
“But I guess what you say makes sense.” Alek forced back swirling thoughts before gasping. “Oooh!” He purred and pointed to a flock of seabirds that were taking up the stretch of beach in front of them, “Dare to give them a small scare?” His amber eyes flickered mischievously as his tail twitched behind him.

Ashierra's eyes dulled a little and turned toward the sea. "No. I guess you're right. A home should mean comfort though." She said with a small pout. Why couldn't home be comfort? She peeked back at Alek for a second when he tucked her hair back. Was he her comfort right now? She shook her head forcefully. "That would be a lot of cleaning." She admitted. "But at least it'd be there." She looked with wide eyes at the birds, pupils suddenly dialating a bit to give her more sight. She grinned at him, tail twitching in anticipation. "Dare." She purred silkily.

"Sure...Sure." Replied Alek before gaining her agreement for chasing the birds. Eyes lighting up the cattaur crouched down and braced his back paws against the sand, "Go!" He growled before dashing down the beach and after the startled birds.
Watching the birds flying to the sky, Alek laughed and ran around the ones that were still down on the beach. "Rawr!" He cried out pouncing towards another group that had resettled after the initial scare.

Ashierra sprung forward at "go." She sped along on light feet, laughing as the birds scattered. Then she crouched down and sat very still, waiting for the birds to re-congegrate there. Then she jumped back up with a yell, scattering the birds again. "Stupid animals." She said with a roll of her eyes, chasing after another group, batting lightly at the ones she could reach.

"Stupid but they must have a nice simple life." Noted Alek softly as he swatted in the air after some slower birds. His tail flicked playfully behind him as he circled his 'prey.'
But after scattering the birds a couple of more times, Alek looked at Ashierra. Suddenly his gaze narrowed and he lowered his tense body, ready to pounce. Jumping at Ashierra in a playful pounce, Alek scattered the sand behind him up as a small cloud. "Gotcha!"

Ashierra was crouching at a bird, ignoring the implication of Alek's comment about simple lives, when she saw him coming at her. She barely had time to react, but instead of moving she sat still, almost as if she wanted to be tackled. She shrieked with laughter, reaching to tickle his sides. "If you think I'm gonna fly away like those birds, think again!" She said as she grasped his waist tightly to make sure he couldn't stand back up, tangling her paws into his legs.

Playfully wiggling Alek laughed as Ashierra tickled him. A deep purr came from his throat in between bursts of laughter before he finally found enough calm to answer her statement as he pushed at her. "Who...ever said I wanted you to fly away?" He joked and leaned his head down so that their foreheads touched.

Ashierra was laughing along until he spoke, her entire body freezing in reflex, golden eyes widening. The heat from his body, which she somehow hadn't realized was so close, was making her face flush. Did that mean he didn't want her to fly away? And what did that mean?? On impluse, without a chance to even think about it, her hands came up and trapped his face, and she pressed her lips hungrily against his. Then her eyes snapped open and she backpedaled, attempting to stand up on weakened legs. "I- you- ah- I-!" She stuttered rapidly, face hot as ever and breath coming in raspy gasps. What had she just done?!

Alek was stunned and absolutely moved into silence. His ears burned and sparks of fire tempted to come out all over his fiery fur. Already his heart was pounding hardly from Ashierra's surprising kiss as he shook his head. "You what?" He managed finally while getting back up on his paws.
It was a quick recovery for him and Alek mischievously moved towards Ashierra. Moving quickly the cattaur returned Ashierra's kiss with a fiery one of his own. But just as quickly he pulled back. Smirking Alek patted Ashierra's shoulder, "Nothing wrong with kisses." He purred teasingly before starting to walk away again.

Ashierra shook her head wordlessly. She didn't have an answer. Really! She what? Her hands shook slightly as she tried to smooth her hair. She wasn't one to randomly kiss a man! She had more poise and control than that! She was sure she did... His return kiss sparked a flare of fire to roll along her spine, down to the tip of her tail and flick off the tip. She looked in suprise at his back aghast. "Yes there is!" She yelped, running after him. "We- we're not even dating or anything! We- we hardly know each other!" She searched for logic around her moral and trained delimma. Those kisses had been delicious...

Looking over his shoulder Alek replied calmly, "Then there's all the more reason to not worry about it since we're barely aquainted. You know, surely some cattaurs used to greet each other with kisses." And Ashierra had said it herself that they weren't dating so why was she so freaked out about it? He'd shared kisses many a time with others that he had no 'love' relationships with. The cattaur didn't truly understand the whole concept of romance yet after all...just play.
Walking along in silence Alek suddenly looked back over to Ashierra with a gleam in his eyes, "Unless of course that was your very first kiss?" His tail twitched with curiosity, 'Surely not.'

Ashierra slowed down, cocking her head in confusion. "But, aren't mates and couples courting supposed to be the only ones who kiss like- like that?" Her ears twitched a little. She'd seen others kiss greetings, but those were short and not clingy. At his question, she felt her cheeks burn as they turned to match the color of her fur. "So what if it was? Whether or not it actually was. It's not really your business anyways." She asked challengingly, holding her head up defensivly, even though her first sentence had given it away. She'd never had a boyfriend before. She was too busy training. Couldn't be distracted with boys. And fought off any who tried to get that close. So why hadn't she stayed away from Alek?
