I'm a little embarrassed.
I don't like dresses. But that's how it goes. With a sigh, I lean over to the buffet table, than swing back to elfgurl. After all, I can converse with her about things?
"So, how'd you manage to get a picture like that? I was...unable to get a picture*, heh," I grin, rubbing the back of my head.

*turns to WitchCat* Hmm? Ah, I happened to have a cheap camera on me.  The thing died on me though before I could get a picture of Gyasi and Isoke. v.v *sighs* So sad. (Ah, btw, I came human to this event, lol:  )

"Ah, that explains it," I comment to elfgurl. "I brought no camera, so I didn't get a pic."
I then look over to the buffet table, and snicker loudly. Tiernah just said something about Mr. Colton, and seemingly on purpose. "Come on, elfy you, we've gotta go over there to catch Colt!" is whispered before elfgurl's dragged off her feet and over to the buffet table.

::steps up to the stage as the DJ halts the music, and obnoxiously taps the microphone for attention::
Hey all.
Today we are - half - here to celebrate the matrimony of Colton and Mena. They conferred the honour of being best man to me. And why, you may ask? Well; I've known them since their youth, and since their nonexistence. I know Colton as 'shrimp', only 'trout' recently, and it really does make you think: I can't imagine how many friends they must have if they asked me to be their best man. In fact - ::pauses for effect, then casts a sweeping glance over the tables:: how much did they pay you?
::waits for the laughter to die down before continuing:: Anyhow, Colt will only be married once - ::looks over:: should only be married once, there aren't enough girls to go around here, ::nods emphatically:: so I should embarrass him as much as possible. Who knew a git like this:
a gangly Golden Retriever would grow up into a nervous wreck? No prizes there.
But who knew that a gorgeous kitty like this:
would pity him enough?
Evidently their love is so pure that it somehow happened, and seriously folks, I'm not joking there.
::takes a look at Colt's photo again::
Yeah.
Evidently their love is so pure, true, and astonishingly dedicated that they not only made it through trials and tribulations mostly brought upon by Colt like extended midgetness, philandering, overall dorkitude (thank you for withholding explosive urges, Mena) and finally - children. Children that turned out so beautiful but so amazingly (and diversely!) biza - interesting who are all, at least, gainfully employed (must be Mena's practicality again). I hate to sound like a sap, but the two of you are a magnificent couple, and trout, you are a very lucky man.
Not to mention, Mena is the only girl Hyte who has consistently rejected my affection so you're welcome to her.
::waits for the laughter to fade again before:: Their love is truly something to behold, just like this champagne. ::lifts the wine flute:: So let's toast it, and get totally sloshed tonight, but only after the second best man finishes his speech. ::downs the champagne, grins and nods at Juli::

*spends most of Maxwell's speech with one gloved hand across her mouth, whether to hide her smiles or perhaps frowns--it was hard to tell. But in the end, with characteristic quirked eyebrow and all, she gave Maxwell a rueful smile* You pass....for now lol

Ah! *the giraffe exclaims his genuine surprise at the presented pictures, fingers gently tracing along the frame, eyes shifting between the emblazoned image of himself and his husband upon it, lingering on the latter* It's perfect. Utterly...completely perfect. Thank you all so much! *with what one could consider fighting back a tear or two, he embraces each of the staff members, kissing the girls sweetly upon the cheek* You have made this all so wonderful, just by being here. This is amazing...
*smiles to Seth, extending a hand to clasp and greet the King Cheetah properly* It's the single most elating feeling I've ever experienced. Thank you so much for coming, Seth.
*a bemused smile and a bow return Malhyanth's well wishes and departure* Thank you for coming.
*he joins his husband as Maxwell taps the mic, slipping an arm around his back and resting his jaw upon Isoke's crown, peaceful as he watches the jaguar deliver his speech; he smiles and chuckles lightly as everyone laughs, eyes shifting over to the couple in question to observe their favorable reactions; as his elder finishes, he releases Isoke long enough to clap his approval* Well said, Maxwell. *slips, unspeakably nervous, onto the stage as the laughter finally subsides, taking a moment to adjust the microphone stand down to his height with trembling paws. Takes a deep breath and squeezes his eyes shut for a second before turning to the crowd with a tremulous smile*
G-good day, everyone!
When Gyasi and Isoke so kindly asked to me to be their best man, I was thrilled and trepid at the same time - trepid because I'm really bad at speeches, and I didn't want to mess this up. I couldn't imagine turning them down - their offer was the greatest honour I could imagine, and I love them both so dearly I couldn't bear to pass up the chance to be a part of their big day. So I went to ask someone who seems to know a lot - or, at least, seems very enthusiastic - about Best Men's Speeches: Maxwell. Maxwell told me to dredge up the most embarrassing and humiliating moments in their history that I could find to talk about.
…Obviously I wasn't going to listen to Maxwell - I don't know why I even asked him in the first place - but even if I had, it was never going to work. I've hunted through all our memories, and not matter how hard I try, I can't remember an instance where they have not been comfortable, wonderful, and perfect together. *has conveniently forgotten all the bits about giraffe-necking and springbok-pronking*
Sometimes you must look a million miles before you realise that true love has been next to you all along - for Gyasi and Isoke, the search was over with this realisation almost before it had begun. It awes me to think about the courage Isoke must have found to tell his best friend that he was the one in his heart - but once he did, it was obvious there could never have been any doubt. Even before they could walk, talk, properly sense - that's right, as tubes they were rolling around each other. As nebulous protoforms in the confines of a metal cylinder, they naturally gravitated to each other, as if through some omniscient force of destiny. Of course, when they finally got out of the tubes - they were inseparable. For all of us, blessed witnesses to the their burgeoning love, it was only natural and eminently welcome when they realised that they were meant to be together for the rest of their lives.
Equally natural was their decision to have their three beautiful children - Maxwell also told me that it was imperative to dredge up the most embarrassing and humiliating moments in Ekene, Amara, and Saleem's histories that I could find to talk about, but they're all so wonderful that I couldn't find any either -

*pointedly ignores Maxwell* Hardly surprising - these perfect children, after all, come from the most perfect parents. They, as well as us all, must be absolutely delighted to see their parents finally wed after coming so far.
I still remember vividly a scene from their childhood - sprawled next to each other on the HyTech floor companionably colouring from Isoke's picture book.
Uh…they were apparently colouring in a Ginmei-maid and a Gable-family and I think I'm getting lost in my analogy - oh! Right - already you could see then the promise of the incredible young men they were going to grow up into, and the promise of their burgeoning relationship. They have coloured each other in over the years so very marvellously - and in the process filled our world with the remarkable spectacle of their beautiful colours.
Thank you so much, Isoke, Gyasi, for all that you have given us. Nothing in this world could make me happier right now than to see the two of you, radiant and resplendent, as husband and husband. *holds up the champagne flute* Let's raise a glass to the wonderful couple!
*downs the champagne - accidentally chokes on it, tries not to show he's choking and runs off the stage before anything else can happen *
