I'm going to make this a sticky.
Sadly, we still have no idea what our show will be. It's my college's first year with a marching band, so we have some excuse, but I think we'll come to band camp (which only a handful of people will attend) and hear our show then. Which is really too bad - I wouldn't mind practicing the music this summer.

Original drill and mostly original music -Escape Velocity -O Magnum Mysterium -Stained Glass (same song Santa Clara played at 2000 DCI nationals)
I guess it'll be some spacey/physics show : D

Our band is doing a Latin theme, which is going to be pretty awesome!!! We haven't picked out each song yet but we have already discussed about the shirt design and color guard uniform!!!

Our bd has a pretty good taste in marching band music, she knows whats too easy and whats too hard for our band and she picks awesome themes.
2007 show- Styx (Mr roboto, Too much time on my hands, show me the way, the best of times)
2008 show- The music and stylings o Chuck Mangione (Feel so fine, Children of sanchez, Chuck Corea)
tyhis year, though i dont personally like the singer, we are doing Billy Joel. i cant remember the names of the songs we are doing but they are all the ones that everyone knows

Can't say I'll be in it due to financial issues and taking 4 English classes next semester, but it should be great. wink

We're doing Music from the opera Carmen. Habanera, Toreador Song, and Flower Song, I believe. It has potential, but our band sucks. The directors picked a grade 2 show so hopefully we can have some success with it.

Well we had a informational meeting this night with our new band director... Our new show is entitled - "Connexus" I don't know what the movements are entitled... It's a good brassy show. :]

I wanna do star trek...but we're doing a dixie-themed collage of songs. Our school's theme song is "Dixie" (like most other Southern high schools), so my BD decided to do a whole bunch of themes that are very similar to it. Big crowd-pleaser. Rocky Top, anyone? pirate
Still, it's a very fun show, and I like it. (And not only because my section gets about a gazillion rests!) Poor trumpets don't get a single rest, though, I don't think. Poor things. Oh well. ninja
Five bucks says the freshmen freak out when they see the music. it isn't hard, but it certainly looks it...
Ok, I'm gonna stop talking now... sweatdrop

Usually, my band does music that people will recognize, such as Stevie Wonder in 2007 and West Side Story in 2008. The band director decided to change his normal pattern and go with a Latin show entitled, "Los Cuatro Elementos," or "The Four Elements." We have gotten our first two movements, and the music is rather fun to play. I can't wait for the last two, since my director promised that the guitars/mallets/non-marching percussion get a cool part. =D

Cirque Du Soleil Our drum majors picked it. It's amazing. Look up on youtube of what it really is. About a girl who gets involved with circus people. All I know is that in one song we get to high step and colorguard might use hoola hoops.
