((XDDD I love that quote you have there about men staring, Kel. And I think I'm really pushing myself here, Verleid seems to be beyond my RP abilities and usual comfort zone @_@ And I can't seem to think right now so this post is epic fail. Sorry ^^' ))
Verleid raised an eyebrow. At first he thought the woman was annoyed with him, but she quickly changed to a much more sociable mood. Well, no matter. If she wanted to get away from the main party in a more secluded area, he'd have to comply. After all, he wouldn't want to upset the guests, now would he?
"I'm sorry to hear you aren't fully enjoying yourself." Verleid said as the two reached the outskirts of the crowd. "Is there anything I can do to make your time more enjoyable?"

As the rock music died away the doors leading into the Ballroom dance floor opened with a loud creak,a sudden gust of cold wind whipping through the cold. Some of the men began to feel queasy, liquids twisting in their bowels and blood tear's slowly dripping from the young vampire's eyes..Other's shook from an unsettling sensation that creeped up their spines like a spider. Then footsteps echoed from the doorway, each one like the strike of a mighty church bell signaling the hour.
An outline appeared in the dark doorway,a pair of tiny blood red orbs gazing out at the startled crowd.Voices whispered in strange tongues from the shadows while the orbs surveyed the crowd for a moment, then slowly stepped into the dim light The Orbs were in fact eyes, belonging to a face that was pale, pale as the Luna on the longest night.Rings of darkness had engulfed his eye sockets, leaving his eyes like two bloody sapphires against a night sky.He stood like a giant,at over seven feet tall and his presence commanded obediance. He was dressed in unholy dark plate armor,it's surface running with runes and inscriptions so detailed and intricate it was impossible to comprehend, his shoulder's were massive, practically filling the doorway and his armored shoulder guards only added to the effect.Above them, rested the folds of his lustrous cloak which gave the impression of bat wings folded in.The rest of it widened down his back, draping out with more runes stitched along it's surface. The air seemed to shimmer around him, distorting into specter's of anguish and suffering before fading into air once more."I hope..."his voice was harsh as stone and cold as a starless sky,his lips cracked into the tiniest of smiles, revealing his pearl white fangs "I am not to late to join in the festivities" Steam escaped his lips everytime he spoke,as if the air around him was incredibly cold.He began to walk again, each footstep leaving a small specter that wailed soundlessly before vanishing. He seemed to sniff the air as he walked, people parted silently as he strode into the crowd's midsts.
Pathetic Everyone of them was pathetic. The world was tearing itself apart outside these walls and these damned fools were throwing a party. And if that wasn't bad enough HE had been ordered to attend.Though he had voiced his displeasure he had obeyed, for the Emperor's will was not to be questioned.Still, this new generation of full bloods and half breed's smelled of weakness, too distracted by the fruits their forefather's had delivered. At least they weren't stupid enough to stand in his path,in fact they seemed to even fear him which was pleasing to the old warrior.Once he'd reached the middle of the dance floor,he halted again, turning to the DJ who was as awestruck as the rest.Nemesis gave him a hard stare, the kind that would have made stone crack.Raising a clawed gauntlet,he motioned for him to resume the music"Come now,we don't want a dead crowd do we?Give them music, inspire their souls.."

As Nemisis strode into the mostly frozen ballroom, three young, feminine figures glided past him into the room. The siblings, and daughters of the Emperor, Celeste Erebus, Rose Erebus, and Selene Erebus, were smiling suductively, each of them in the most reveiling outfits of the ball. On Selene the effect of her fur, tail and ears added to the allure.
"Ladies, Mistresses, Lords, and Dukes, We hope you enjoyed the pre-party festivities. In honor of his recent appointment to lead the Empire's glorious forces into defeating the vile Wastelanders, As well as the Anniversary of the birth of the Empire, this party was thrown. May we present Lord General of the Royal Guards, Nemisis Lavidean Thaneo, Now Lord General of the Imperial Military. Please, enjoy the rest of the ball, and be sure to join us in the Main Dining Hall at 8." Said Celeste, using intracte hand movements and highly varied speech patterns. Once finished, she and her sisters glided into the crowd, and began to mingle. The Emperor's brats were now in the open, but hte problem would now be with the veteran soldier in the ballroom as well.

Dion sighed, as the woman finished the spell. Once she had walked over to the bed, and shook out her neon bright pink hair, showing that it was quite long, maybe even mid-back or lower, did Dion speak up. "So, what is it you want, if you are teh contact. Just to be sure, Maybe we should confirm the codes." Dion said, being cautious. As she sighed, and stated the phrase 'The Wastelanders claim the rights of man still live on in hte waste.', And Dion replied with the counter phrase, 'So I've heard, but can rumor be trusted?', did Dion finally relax some. "I was told we'd have a contact on the inside, but not a Vampire! And why do you seem to claim to be a Wastelander? Vampires won't tread near them." Dion asked, looking over the room, then her. She wasn't bad looking, gorgeous in fact, but he was in the middle of one of his 'conflict' modes, he was so intent on the mission and getting the job done, and done right.
Dion walked over to the bed, and leaned against the post while he waited the reply.

Nemesis lifted his head as Celeste announced his promotion, giving the daughter of the Emperor a polite nod.Once she'd finished he moved towards the eldest of the Emperor's spawn, making sure none left his sight. It was a thankless duty, but the Emperor had commanded him to watch over his three spoiled brats for this event, and even he would not be spared if something happened to them.
"Your highness,I would advise you and your siblings to stay close"He bowed deeply,"Your father expressed the need for security,it is unsafe with the possibility of spies amongst us."Nemesis hissed,a couple of courtesans mingling at his sides"Perhaps if we were to retire to the Harem, you and yoru sister's would be far more comfortable, and we can verify each occupant's identiy"

[[OOC: LOL! Sorry Pho-Pho, it was new for me too, but I wanted to try "seductive" at least once, and I don't think I did too bad considering its a short post. X3 Let me put it this way, for a perverted mind-set, do as Zelos would do in that situation. LOL!]]
The plan had been simple: Faer and Kelbora were to seduce, isolate, and then interrogate any possible noble's with information of the location of the Imperial Court of Council, kill the unfortunate souls, and get rid of the bodies before the Wastelanders leveled the place.
But now, something had gone terribly wrong.
On the edge of the main body of guests, Kelbora had successfully snagged her first potential kill of the evening when her body froze and time stopped.
For Kelbora, the hands of the clock never stopped, but the world around her was a paused moment in time. Before her, Verleid was preparing to wrap his arms around her waist to pull her closer, beyond him were the guests in various possesses of excitement, pleasure, or youthful exuberance. Even the dust particals of stagnant time seemed to halt in their chaotic dance about the air. Kelbora released a shaking breath and was surprised to find her exhalation visible before her.
An aura...just like the one she had used in the Wastelander base not two nights before...An Ancient was near and projecting his wicked spirit and power as though he were a god himself.
He, yes, this was a he.
To Kelbora, the world was still frozen when the man in bone and ebony plated armor entered, the lights dimming and flickering as though he had brought the entire power of night in with him. Kelbora's vampiric eyes locked on the giant's visage and saw the invisible life force about him to be completely blackened and drenched in the wailing souls of his victims. This man not only killed the innocent, but he absorbed their souls, power, and stole their honor to prevent them from passing on...trapping them forever in the endless void of his own soul. Each footstep pounded in her head as though Chaos himself had tread this very ground, and her green eyes beheld the metaphysical blood left behind in a long trail of crimson on the floor. Images of the dead swam in that blood, and even from this incredible distance Kelbora could see and hear the unheard cries of the departed, begging, pleading the gods for release. Eternal purgatory...
The ultimate hell.
The moment the man stopped advancing, and he drew a breath to speak, time began to flow again in slow motion. The word and threads of the present were realigning themselves and now the frozen party-goers and Verleid had all turned to give their attention to this incarnate of Satan.
Even his voice was laced with his damned power.
Kelbora was an Ancient and had not encountered another in a very long time, but she knew all too well that Vampires exceeding their tenth century gained incredible power and the ability to age those around them. The energy had left the room because his Ancient power was leeching it from those around him...
All except her.
Ancients were immune to the additional side effects of other Ancients' power, and they could sense each other if close enough, especially if they are reaching out with their auras as this man had done.
Were she not temporarily changed into a human state by Dion's blood, he would have sensed her the moment his presence touched her.
However, based on what she had felt when the vampire's power stilled her time, she knew instantly that she outranked him in age. Unfortunately, what she gained in centuries over him, he balanced out and held over her the countless souls fueling his hellish soul. In the days of old, such a vampire was known as Geisterbeschwörer, a Devil's Necromancer, and very rare agents of darkness and chaos.
Yet here one stood, over 2,000 years since the last known of his kind was seen on Earth.
Whether he was aware of his unique gift was anyone's guess, but either way Kelbora knew of and feared his power. She was an Ancient, a powerful Ancient at that, but she knew when she saw an opponent the was too tall an order for her. Because she had not so drenched her soul in sin, she had not and would never acquire the powers of the Emperor or this man who had sacrificed countless to claim such cursed abilities.
A coward, she was not; a strategist, she was completely.
Her eyes shifted to the three young women entering behind the man and she both heard and felt herself hissing between growing fangs. At this distance and with all of the distractions around, she would go unnoticed; but the spawns of the Emperor were of the same bloodline that had spawned her undead afterlife, and would notice her in a heartbeat if they got within so much as a ten foot radius of her. Though she had slain the Emperor's brother centuries ago, the one who had betrayed and turned her, his influence had corrupted her forever, marking her as his accidental creation.
The stakes had suddenly risen to unacceptable risks. This mission was over.
Without a word, and while her current date had all of his attention on the spectical, Kelbora slipped away from him and swiftly made her way through the back of the crowd, moving behind the guests as though they were a massive concealing wall, and then slipped into a side room off of a hallway far from the festivities of the ball room.
The vampiress closed and locked the door behind her, quickly scanning the vacant bedroom she had navigated her way into. Satisfied, she paced forward and suddenly stopped before a large standing mirror beside the bed...
Her eyes had become cat-like slits, her fangs had returned, and the color of a mortal had left her face leaving it a pearly translucent white. Even her ears had become pointed again along with her nails becoming claws...
She had lost her human disguise when the Ancient entered the ballroom.
s**t.
Kelbora quickly threw up her mental barriers and then tore open the link between herself and her Pomme de Sang, her tone urgent and fierce as she suddenly bombarded Dion's head with the images Aida, of the Ancient she had encountered, the three daughters of the Emperor, and finally of herself in the mirror as a vampire once again.
'Abort. We need to leave, and leave now.'

Dion Zeromus Wastelander/Pomme de Sang Status: 100% Mental Charge: 100% Emotional State: Calm Location: Back room, Grand Mansion Ballroom, LA Current Mission: Infiltrate the Vampire Wars Anniversary in LA
Dion was still awaiting his answer when suddenly it felt like a tank had slammed into his brain with enough force to knock over a 5 story brick building. Dion was thrown to the ground, due to the unexpected force, and fact of the mental link. His breaths were short and shallow even as Kel sent her message. He barely caught anything, all of the images and warnings blurred together and mixed up. Kel had never mentioned anything like this between them, so Dion was totally unprepared. Once he had a semblance of control, Dion eased himself standing. 'What the?! What in all the hells just happened?' Dion thought, not realizing the link between him and Kelbora let her know what he was thinking due to his inexperiance.

Rose smirked. "Why Lord General, I'd be pleased to make sure you are who you say you are, and maybe then some." She said, spooning herself against him in his armor, gloating in the glare she got from her sister. Celeste glared at her younger sister, and snorted. "Sir Nemesis, I'm afraid that Won't be needed. I am able to handle myself, even if It should come to fighting. I am after all, the Misstress of the Assassination Force. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must entertain the guests and... Treats." Celeste said, turning away, and walking off, her royal upbringing in full swing. As for What Selene would do, Well, that was the real Question. Did she go with Rose and Lord Nemisis, or did she stay with Celeste, and stay in the main party area?

((Think like Zelos...hmm....okay XD And Glein has given me temporary control of Selene, so I'll be posting with her as well, just so nobody wonders why I'm suddenly using her lol))
The sudden gust of cold wind snagged Verleid's attention, stopping him dead in his tracks. The smile left his face as Nemesis walked in. He never did like that man. There was only one thing Nemesis ever felt worthy of his time, and that was war. Everything about him exuded raw power that sucked the joy out of every room he stepped into, replacing it with fear. Not only was he physically the strongest vampire among them, but the very aura he gave off made casting spells slightly more difficult. Not that Verleid planned on using any, but just the very feeling was extremely unsettling.
Verleid hadn't even noticed the woman had slipped out from under his hand. It wasn't until Nemesis' grand entrance died down that he realized he was standing alone. Verleid frowned and looked around. Had she retreated when Nemesis came in? Not that he blamed her. That man made even vampires tremble, it wasn't strange for a human to flee from his presence. Still, she had been quite a catch. Nemesis was quickly killing his mood. Verleid sighed and resumed walking around the party. Perhaps he would find that woman again.
From the moment the door blew open, Aida had been keeping her attention on the monster of a vampire that entered. Lord General of the Imperial Military, eh? He was certainly a force to be reckoned with. He made every other vampire she had faced seem no more harmful than baby bats. It was highly likely he would be somebody she would be facing in the future. And the three women behind him...they would all be good faces to remember. Perhaps this job would provide her with more than just money after all. She would have to keep an eye on them all throughout the party.
Selene frowned, looking back and forth between her sisters. Did they always have to act like rivals? She watched Celeste walk away and debated whether she should follow her or not. She really just wanted to get away from Nemesis. In truth, he terrified her. He was on their side, but his power was just so...scary!
"If you don't need anything, I think I'll accompany Celeste and take care of the guests." She didn't think Rose would mind much. Something told her she'd actually like her and Celeste leaving her alone with Nemesis. The anthro vampire turned around and followed her half-sister into the crowd.
((Gah! My posts are horrible here lately! >.< How discouraging. ))

His demonic gaze fell upon the brat, the air growing incredibly cold as Selene spoke. He disapproved of her statement but was forced to obey"As you wish, highness"Nemesis bowed then turned his attention to the other brat who lingered, actually touching his armor and not recoiling in fright or agony.
Then again, she was the daughter of the emperor and a powerful one at th-
Something nagged at the corner of his senses,a small light against a sea of chaotic darkness. He closed his eyes, ignoring the annoying b***h who yapped at his side like a lost puppy as he sought out the soul.Time twisted into a void of eternity, law and physics stripping away till only an ocean of specter's danced around him. Most of them were dark,or very dim representing his brethern and their indentured servants, but wait what was this? For a moment he saw a form of light that was stronger then other's,shining so brightly a mortal would have been forced to shield their eyes against the glare. His soul tried to follow it to the source.
This was an interesting development, very few held such power even among the vampires and Nemesis had faced a few of em enough times to know when he was gazing at a formidable foe. This one...wasn't much a danger, but if left unchecked could threaten his place of power..alas the connection was soon lost and the shining star faded back into the sea of darkness.Howling in rage at being denied his prize Nemesis returned to his body, the world resolving back into the party around him,a layer of thick ice surrounding his feet."My apologies"He offered to the surprised rose"I sensed something,a presence I have not felt since...It matter's not."He stepped away from her"Fetch me twenty of the finest maiden's of this party, and bring their servant's with them,I think it is time this crowd deserved a little treat for my celebration..Do this before I return, there is something I must check"With a snap of his cloak he spun around and stormed off,the shadow's resolving in better shape around him as he moved, specter's naked and tormented clawing at the people around them begging for freedom..Nemesis sniffed the air, following it to a corner of the room where a familar face appeared"Verleid..."His voice held no warmth"Tell me,were you in the company of another harlot again?"

Kelbora ground her teeth together and snapped at Dion in her mind.
'This mission is over! We need to evacuate now and call off the second team immediately!'
At this she brought up the picture of the Lord General again and allowed the mortal Dion to see him as she saw him. He wasn't just a giant presence wearing the armor of decay and death, she allowed him to see this man in his ghastly aura, trailing blood and souls as though he had just walked off a battle field covered in blood. She showed Dion the wailing spirits crying out all around him, trailing in his wake and begging for release to move on to Heaven or hell.
She then slowed and showed him the three daughters of the Emperor accompanying him. They were coated in his black aura, and it was clear that to get to them one had to trudge through the sea of blood and souls to do so. For a vampire, it would only weaken them to the point of exhaustion; for a mortal, their very souls would be dragged down to join the others in torment.
'I am not prepared to deal with such a foe this night, and unless Faer can supply me with my armor and weapons before this Geisterbeschwörer feeds again and raises his power even further,' Kelbora said slowly enough for Dion to catch, but still flooding the link with urgency, 'I did not draw a full feeding from you this night so that it would take less time for you to recover as perform your duties tonight. I am no where near my full capacity, and neither you nor Faer have the experience to fight this man. I am no longer under a human disguise, and the Empire knows now that the Lady of the Fallen is indeed an Ancient Vampire, which means that someone will notice me the moment I show my face.'
If she had not interfered that night at the warehouse and just left as would have been best to conceal her identity, she would not have to worry about walking among the vampires as the creature she was. But she had heard the children crying and their parents dying, and turned around and let lose on the enemy. It only took one survivor to give the seemingly phantom assassin who had plagued the Empire for centuries to finally have a face...
And that face was her's.
'Unless we find Faer and arm ourselves in the next five or ten minutes, we may not get out of here,'She said trying to think of some way to salvage this mission and finding none, 'Set the charges and abandon the information gathering, we will have other opportunities for that later. Right now we're on a hide and survive objective. I'm in a room deep in the east wing, but I plan to take to one of the upper stories where there are no people and wait for Faer there. Meet me when you've found her and automatically take to the upper levels. I will find you once you've cleared the second floor.'
With that, Kelbora cut the link between herself and Dion and restrengthened the mental shields around her mind, concealing her presence and power once more.
Anxious to get back into her gear and become armed once more, Kelbora swiftly walked to the door, unlocked it, and walked out of the room while keeping to the shadows of the corridor.
There were very few people to encounter along the way, and none of them paid attention to her since they were engrossed in feeding or other activities they were loath to be distracted from. She rounded the corner to the stairs and found the guard off to the side with a young woman partaking in his own merriment that left his post vacant.
All the better for her.
Without making a sound, she ascended the stairs to the second floor and scanned the level, finding no guards, and made her way to the third.
Another thing she was looking forward to: getting out of these damn 3 inch heels.

The air grew heavy again as Nemesis approached Verleid. The way he spoke made it sound like Verleid had committed some crime by enjoying himself at their ball. Was it really any of Nemesis' business what he wanted to do? He was intent on ruining his night, wasn't he?
Verleid slowly turned to face the vampire. If it wasn't unsettling enough being a distance away from him, it was worse standing right next to him. He could only imagine how it felt to be facing against him in combat. "Ah, Lord General Nemesis. You speak so harshly. I was simply tending to the needs of a guest. She was displeased with the large crowd and wished for a more secluded area. We wouldn't want to ignore the plights of our guests, now would we?" He grinned, "Congratulations on your promotion, by the way. It is quite a fitting title for you, Lord General." A fitting title indeed. He couldn't deny that it would be foolish not to promote Nemesis to head of the Imperial Military. If anyone was born for the job, it was him. Now, if Nemesis would just let him be, he could continue on with his night without ruining the mood completely.

Faer was currently in the middle of the mass of gyrating dancers. Her body moved fluidly and seductively. One minute she was dancing with a male, the next a female. She was being passed around like candy. Actually, it was more like a theft, she was being stolen, and each previous dance partner looked angered and upset.
She was currently swinging her hips into anothers when a punch went over her head and into the skull of her dance partner. Blood splattered the ground as his nose was broken. Soon a bloody riot erupted in the middle of the floor. Faer practically skipped out of the mess with a smile on her face. The lilting whistle was calming her excitement, where her Void magic raced through her veins. She stopped cold when she felt an extremely powerful presence enter the room.
It was the Lord General. With the three brats near him. His body spread violence and pain where he walked. She also heard of what he asked of the party. The twenty finest maidens. Her heart skipping she realized that she was one of them, as she had started a riot recently just because of her beauty.
She hurried from the room, practically vaulting along the steps when an arm snaked around her waist. Looking back she saw a grinning vampire. "Oh no you don't. The Lord General wants you." She smiled at him disarmingly, and her hand snapped up into his nose, shooting the bone into his brain and killing him instantly. Blood covered her arms and she continued up the stairs. She had felt Kelbora's human state evaportate upon the entrance of the Ancient. She felt it because she was closer to her than others. Slowly, she drew towards the presence.
Every floor she withdrew into the Void and set a timed mine for 3 minutes. Smiling, she finally reached where Kelbora was. "Yello!"

Kelbora was standing on the third floor, about to enter one of the rooms she had broken the lock to with her magic, when Faer vaulted over the guard rail with a cheerful hello. It startled the vampire, but then she quickly recovered her composure, and wretched Faer inside of the room by the arm.
The room was vacant and dark, and looked and smelled half finished by the furniture covers draped everywhere and the smell of fresh paint. It was a conference room of sorts with lots of room to maneuver. Good.
Kelbora finally turned back to Faer after another quick scan of the room and she bent down and began to remove her painfully annoying shoes. She still couldn't believe how quickly the Elemental had found her, almost as if she heard the call she had sent out to Dion.
Faer was full of surprises.
"I need my weapons, armor, and gear now if we are to give you and Dion enough time and protection to set the bombs. I need you two to continue through with setting the charges, and I'm going to cover you both from the shadows by making sure the General doesn't kill you both before this mission is through," She said, tossing each shoe away and feeling a hundred times better for it, "In this state I won't be able to defeat him, but I've dealt with his kind before and can give you the advantage of time and a quick escape if nothing else. I don't think we can call off Bratz's bombers this late in the game, but we have to see to the deaths of as many of these bastards as possible."
In short, Kelbora was going to play cover, and decoy if necessary, while Dion and Faer skipped the information gathering part of the plan and went right to the fireworks.
Hopefully Faer's void magic wasn't hampered by that man's oppressive presence.
"Ready?"

Aida had been watching the Lord General and the three Royal Pains-in-the-Asses when somewhere in the midst of the dance floor people started yelling. The mercenary shoved through the crowd to see what was going on, finally breaking through the circle that had formed around the brawl.
"She was mine, b*****d!"
"No way, I had her first!"
Were they serious? They were fighting over a woman? Aida had been ready to let them duke it out amongst themselves when a punch almost hit her head, missing its originally intended target. She turned to the vampire whom the fist belonged to, grabbed his wrist, and twisted both his arms behind his back.
"Attacking security is not exactly a bright idea." Aida growled.
"Let go of me, b***h!" The man struggled against her hold, breaking free and readying another punch. His fist stopped in midair he found himself staring down the barrel of a gun.
"Would you like to try that again?" Aida asked, glaring. "Or did you want to decorate the walls?"
The rest of the vampires that had been fighting stopped to watch, one man forgetting he was still holding the collar of another's shirt, a woman stopping her heel from stomping on a man's foot. As Aida turned to the rest of them, they all let go and stepped away from whoever they had been about to hit.
The mercenary slipped her gun back into it's holster. "If I hear fighting again, it better be because there is a real problem." She turned around and walked away, glares following her back as she left. She didn't have time to deal with this crap. Despite all appearances, the vampires were no more civilized than any low-life human hanging at the local bar. It was pathetic, really. Apparently the woman that had caused the riot to begin with hadn't even stuck around to watch the fight. These vampires were really something.

Dion growled. Damn it. He quickly turned to Lynn, and grabbed her hand. "Plan Alpha's gone. Unexpected arrival! Plan Bravo is go!" Dion told her, then barreled through teh door, running quickly, pushing people out of his way, Lynn in close persuit. It would work as a cover, since it would look like he was trying to avoid a bite from a vampire. As he reached the third floor, Dion paused, glancing out hte window. New fires were erupting throughout the city, and the sight of tracers and other such rounds, as well as explosions told Dion all he needed to know. Either the Wastelander forces were nearing the position, or someone had incited a riot. Lynn passed him, only to stop when facing the barrel of Kelbora's sidearm. Dion turned, and shock his head. "She may be a Vampire, but she was my contact." Dion said, shucking out of his jacket and vest, sliding on the combat harness and vest. As he grabbed his weapons, he watched Lynn pull out a katana, apparently inlaid in the wall. When Dion raised an eyebrow, she merely shrugged. "Faer, same kit. Ok, Lynn, Lady, we have to get out ASAP. Outside is going to hell, and the bombers are overhead now. Faer, radio!" Dion told them, then called out as he finished sliding his pistol into it's holster, pushed his knife into it's sheath on his shoulder, and prepped his rifle. They had to move, and quickly.

[[OOC: =O.O= Oh, we're just going on ahead assuming that Faer pulled all of our stuff out of the void? ...Er...=>_>;= Okay.]]
The nine was aimed and nearly pressing against the female vampire's forehead when Dion assured Kelbora that she was a friendly. She snorted and holstered the firearm in the holster attached to her side.
Kelbora was back in her thick silver plated armor concealed beneath two inches worth of black leather that hid her rune ladened chest plate, shoulder guards, and greaves. She had reattached her gauntlets with their spring loaded blades and buckled on the heavy belts that held her twin katana and Knight's Broadsword across her back. She had two combat daggers strapped to the side of each boot, and further up were two more gun holsters that held a .45 each. Add the nines in the side holsters along with her powerful magic, and Kelbora looked ready to take on the Emperor's army itself.
After throwing on the long black trench coat to conceal her arsenal, and add the row of throwing knives sown into the folds, she slid on her gloves and undid the ridiculous hair-do she'd been forced to endure at the party. Her long metallic gold hair unraveled like a curtain of molten silk, falling all the way down to the small of her back. She grabbed a white cloth on the table with one hand while the other shuck out her bangs, and then she whipped off as much of the make-up as she could. She absolutely abhorred make-up, thinking of it more as pancake batter smeared all over one's face to give the illusion that they were a Pre-Raphaelite painting come to life.
The last thing she did was clip on the silver clip and stud earrings to each ear and the black cocker collar around her neck with the Holy Cross pendant attached. Most would have found jewelry as useless in a fight as make-up, but as the earring were bless metal engraved with wards of protection, so too was the pendant a blessed artifact that placed a blessed barrier around her mind and soul. Being a vampire should have prevented her from using such holy artifacts, but these had been specially made and bestowed upon her in her human days as a Paladin in the Holy Order.
Why they still worked for her, to this day she could never say for sure...but they worked.
Feeling like herself again and comfortable once more in her armor, gear, and weapons, Kelbora said a quick prayer as she had always done before a fight, and stood before the group either just finishing their own transformations or still fitting themselves.
Dion had reported that the Wastelander's were moving, which meant they needed to get rolling too.
"Stick to the shadows and don't be seen. While you set the charges and do whatever else you need to, I'll be watching the party and giving you cover. If one of you is seen I'll create a distraction and hopefully draw the main opposition away from you," Kelbora said raising her left arm and clenching her fist; the silver blade within the gauntlet on her forearm shot out and Kelbora nodded before sheathing it.
The left one sometimes had a slower reaction time than the right, but for now it seemed to be in perfect working order.
Excellent.
"Let me know when your done either by mental communication through Dion, or at the latest, by the detonation of the first bomb," She said and suddenly a dark glyph formed beneath her, the hum of magic dampening the air and charging it with an unseen electricity.
"I'll be traveling the shadows to the highest point overlooking the ballroom. Any questions before we begin?"
