Hahaha, I never got into the Dune universe. I had a coloring book when I was really little, though.

But I'm not sure if that counts.

And there's nothing quite like sci fi from the sixties.

Dune is so amazing. the greatest science fiction story ever told!
it's a shame his son ruined the end of the series. but fans don't consider those last two books part of the duniverse.

some pretty good quotes here.

We used to have a Dune PC game that we played all the time, but I never read the books.

My favorite authors are Madeleine L'Engle (A Wrinkle In Time) and C.S. Lewis (I love his space trilogy and read The Chronicles of Narnia as a kid)
I also LOVE all the Harry Potter books. I can't help myself. I wanna go to Hogwarts.

But I like to read all sorts of stuff.

I'm sure I could find worse if I tried, but fortunately for my mental health, I haven't tried

The House of Night series. I only read the first two books. From what I could tell, it was an epic failure that somehow got published. It was written by a mother and her daughter and the writing is so horrible it makes Twilight look like a Stephen King novel.

Here are some books that I've read recently that I enjoyed:

Fingersmith by Sarah Waters (currently my favorite novel)

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (The witty dialogue makes it so much better than Twilight)

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (So much win!)

Prey by Michael Crichton (Not as good as JP but still... entertaining)

Airman by that dude who wrote Artemis Fowl (Pretty awesome!)

The Well of Loneliness by Radclyffe Hall
- Written in 1929, it was the first novel to openly sympathize with homosexuals and pretty much reprimand society for being such douches towards them. The writing was a little difficult to get used to and there are parts in french that have no translation but it was a beautiful if not depressing story.
