But it influences so much of how I think.

I've seen this before. Some people grow attached to their mental disorders. Many people with Manic Depression wouldn't give it up, because they love the Mania and would put up with the Depression for it. And with OCD, you're less likely to get ill.

Just more prone to infection.

But that's not what I meant; I just mean that I would be a totally different person!

A better person or worse? Would you prefer to be without OCD, or is it a blessing as well as a curse?

The latter, but my point is that I would not be who G-d designed.

But you'd still be in G-d's image.

What I mean is that I would still be unique without it but not in the same way.

This deserves its own thread, but the shortest answer I can possibly give:

1. The Torah says that if a man lies with a woman, he is required to marry her.

2. The Talmud says "Don't." It also says that you're only allowed to touch certain members of the opposite sex at all (unless in a lifesaving context): Your spouse, your children, your parent, or a man may touch his unmarried sister; a married sister can't touch her brother anymore.

Elaborate, then...

And the Reform/Liberal views: If you "lie" with a woman, you are basically saying you want to marry her at some point. I think there's a verse somewhere I read that said that intercourse is like an engagement for marriage. This agrees with Divash's No.1.

Go to the [GD]Good Jewish Habits: Sex Discussion (Adult Content) page near the bottom of this page and read that for more info.

Scrupulosity is viewed in two different ways. One, addressed by almost everyone when kashering a kitchen (especially for Pesach) or when preparing for mikvah immersion, is that the more strict you can be and the more thorough you can be, the more merit-worthy it is.

The other, addressed by Maimonides in his Mishneh Torah, is that a person should avoid extremes and strive for moderation. One should neither be sad all the time nor happy all the time; neither too stingy nor too generous; neither too loud nor too quiet; eat neither too much nor too little. Above all, he cautions that a Jew should avoid fanaticism because when one focuses too much on the tiny details, the details become one's focus not just for behavior, but for worship: the goal, rather than the means to the goal, which is to show devotion to Hashem.
