Azmodeus Bloodmyth
The one place where any of their prisoners would be held, most likely their confinement area for the entire time they were here...unless they proved useful enough to freely roam his estate, albeit they never saw or jumped into meetings between those of his side just to spy and return to the other side with such valuable information. They were all just their pets at most, to him...just little playthings to pass the time, perhaps amuse Kita even to watch them suffer...although of course he knew she wouldn't enjoy it.

Ah well...for now he worked what power was confined in this still small form, still easily being enough to creat an invisible seal around the entire contents as the edges glowed in a dark hue for a few moments before fading away, returning the room back into what it had appeared before.

All in all..he was terribly amused, purposely having crafted this room to be in resemblence to what those living call...'playroom's and playgrounds' for their young, keeping them captive truly as if they were going to be happy climbing up a rope ladder, sitting on the bridge...perching here and there like birds and primates. It was cruel of course..but that was the intention. Perhaps that would further their captives to decide to become more useful for his expense.

Sadi Sidhe
With a quiet moan, Kaoru awoke. He was in a strange room, like a cross between a playground and playroom. He had to admire the dark god's sense of humor. Shaking his head and trying to ignore the ache inside him, he looked to see who else had joined him in this delightful little cage, and who their guard dogs might be.

Azmodeus Bloodmyth
"...ehh...I wish the catch was a little bigger than this...we could have ended up with a little zoo of our own..."

she yawned, hovering abov the ground with her underside facing the ground, just idly watching Kaoru as he came to.

It hadn't been too long of a venture as he continued to carry Agramon down to the cage room, silent in his own manner, ears twitching to every sound around them before arriving at the massice door leading into the playground of a cage cell...again tickled by his choice in decorations.

"I've always wanted little pets...I'd only hope you would end up performing for us sometime..."

he growled low Agramon, opening the cage door just slightly before tossing in the other light captive.

EvilMadness666
Agramon was happy to be back on the ground. Now he could rest and try to think of some good plan. He looked at Kaoru. Two heads are always better than one. He turned his head to Azmodeus.

'' Nice place you got here. ''

He looked around his prison once again. What a strange sence of humor. A playground. He just couldn't understand how this could be used for torturing but then again maybe beast feared places like this.

'' If you're expectiong any informations from us you're wasting you're time. ''

Rosenrot peaked through the door to see what will happen the the prisoners. She feared what might happen to Agramon.

Sadi Sidhe
Kaoru tsked at Agramon. "You really must learn not to speak for others. You know what they say about assuming, after all. With the right incentive..." He toyed with the large watch around his neck, knowing he would be unable to remove it if he were to try.
He turned to the dark god. "You see, what my foolishly brave fellow here does not know, is I am not the Hikaoru he has gotten to know. We were not one being that could split into two, but two that existed as one. True, we may have been one, once, but like an embryo splitting into identical twins, we diverged. And the easiest way for a thing to split is right down the middle, into polar opposites." He smirked.
"Under the watchful eye of her, the influence of her light, he was ascendant. My nature was submerged, buried, so that not even I could find it. I was never let far from his side, even when we split the pain was such that I could not maintain the separation long enough to come back to myself. But when you took the goddess, his inner turmoil - to stay or to follow? - allowed me to split off, and follow you in his stead, as a part of him wished to do. The pain still came, but he could not reclaim me, and I could not return to him as conditioning bade me. Now the separation between the two realms has removed his influence from me. I am, relatively speaking of course," he gestured to the playroom around him,"free for the first time ever. And for that I thank you." He gave a humble but graceful bow, waiting to see the dark god's reaction.

Eftemie
Valkon followed Az to the cage room to familiarize himself with it. His lips twitched in approval of the choice his Lord had made. But at the words from Agramon, he found even more amusement. "We have her, why would we need information from you?"

Turning his attention to Kaoru, he watched a moment wondering what Az would say to this one. Simply because he professed his story before being asked did not mean that it should be believed. They would be fools to do so. Az was no fool and neither was he. Let him prove himself just as others did. But it was not up to him.

Azmodeus Bloodmyth
He had cast a short glance to Agramon, Valkon easily answering for him as he gave a small smirk, attention shifting onto the cat in the cage as he had begun to speak. His ear twitched with each word, taking in the little speech. It was a little long winded, but amusing none the less. Where..had such seperation had happened in the first place when all had been cast out maybe he would have been a little more lenient..there wasn't a part of this cat's story that the young god believed..well..except for this said splitting, knowing he had seen something get left behind when he had dived into the portal into his own realm.

"Hn...it's an interesting little quirk, two in one...I wish you two had only stayed together so we could have done away with two beings in one fell swoop. You'll have to prove what you say..or simply enjoy your freedom while it lasts. Though you couldn't find this part of yourself within you..or..didn't know about it so convienently...I assure you the goddess did..."
he growled low, actually stepping into the playground of a cage with the two.

"...and as it was not hidden from her...she would have cast you out with the rest of us, exiled even for the little spot of darkness in our souls..excluding one..but that name won't be mentioned."
he hissed again, circling the cat.

"...though..you are welcome for this little reprieve..make the most of it."
he finished with a grin, patting the cat before leaving the cage room.

Sadi Sidhe
Kaoru shrugged, sitting on a swing and idly swinging back and forth. They would let him prove himself or not. He would do what he could, no more could be asked of him.
He wondered at the god's words though. After all, didn't everyone have at least a touch of darkness to them? Perhaps, at one point, the goddess had been free of such a taint, but then perhaps even she had had a minute speck, just enough to create an opening for the dark god to further corrupt her. Those who had been exiled seemed to be those whose darkness was... less controlled. He thought of the selfish bickering that he had seen amongst the ranks of the light. No, they were far from pure.

EvilMadness666
Agramon stared at Kaoru trying to unpuzzle his act. Did he really mean what he said or is he playing some game. Maybe he had a plan on his mind. And than his thoughts returned back to the ones they left behind. What was going on with they're comrades now? What actions were they taking? His actions seemed foolish right now. He was of no use trapped here. And than a small figure caught all his attention.

'' How did you end up here? ''

Rosenrot came close to the invisible wall. So close that she bumped into it. She walked along it like she could find a way in with no luck. She sat down on a floor in front of Agramon.

'' I got a letter with directions to come here. Seems we are on opposite sides. ''

'' Don't be silly. What opposite sides. How could you ever be one of them or belong in a place like this and... ''

Agramon was angry but glad she wasn't hurt. At least it seemed that way. But he couldn't believe the words she spoke although they were on opposite sides of the wall. He looked at her with sad eyes and began to doubt in all this action and events that happened till now. How right were they?

'' Go away... Leave me. ''

He turned his back to her not wanting to look anymore.

Rosenrot hang her head and looked to the floor. For the first time she was ashamed she had a dark mark on her. It was true they were enemies now but she still wondered if there was some way she could keep him for herself. She looked around the room at others that shared her damnation looking for some conformation of her hopes.

Eftemie
Valkon shook his head. Rosenrot was clueless but she would figure it out. "The goddess tossed her out as she did the rest of us. I guess she's not always right, is she? Maybe you will get a chance to help us later. I could use my room dusted out." He laughed at Agramon as he walked away. He knew where the cage room was now and what it was like. That's all he needed. For now.

Azmodeus Bloodmyth
He sighed slightly, there were only two, there wouldn't exactly be harm in it to let them spruce up the large estate, what servants he had couldn't keep up entirely...and it sounded like a few of his follwer's would be highly entertained using them to 'clean' and what not..

"Hn..Valkon...why don't you take one of them and mke them clean...if you want, it can be agramon...since I believe he gave you guys the most trouble? You..cat...I have no way for you to prove your usefulness just yet...maybe soon I wil have you set the dining room for me and the goddess..perhaps the rest of us as well....there will be a second invasion soon.."
he growled, leaving, instructing Eclipse to watch Kaoru...or at least toy with him as she wanted.

Sighing faintly, she looked towards the cat, hovering over her with antennae twitching.

"So...I think you want to be somewhere out of this playpen...there aren't enough of you to make this any fun...sooo...let's go, dunno what I'm gonna do with you just yet beyond the dining room.."
she said, tugging on his cat ears a little

EvilMadness666
'' NO! ''

Rosenrot jumped looking in the beasts direction with her eyes wide open. If there was possibility to take prisoners as they're servants than she was determined to get Agamon for her self only. After all they once belonged to one another and they still do.

'' Give Agramon to me. He is mine and he will listen to what I tell him. ''

Eftemie
Valkon laughed, nodding. "That works for me, my Lord. He can start cleaning the dining room and then work his way out from there. Everything could use a good cleaning."

At Rosenrot's words, he turned. "Don't be selfish. Our Lord's entire castle needs cleaned. Not just your room. And Lord Azmodeus comes first. But if you are so worried about Aggie, you can bring him his meals and pamper him then." He frowned slightly at her attitude. They weren't going to harm the stupid lighter. Just put him to work. She should be glad that's all it was.

Azmodeus Bloodmyth
He stopped in his tracks, tail swaying as his ears twitched. Did he just hear someone jump against what he instructed? He growled low, looking over his shoulder to Rosenrot.

"...you do not argue with what I have instructed. Agramon will be going with Valkon and that's the end of THAT. Do I make myself clear?"
he snarled between gritted fangs, eyes looked on Rosenrot as he nodded towards Valkon to take Agramon out of here.

"...or am I going to have to show you not to step out of line again?"
he snapped, just waiting to see defiance in the neko.

Eftemie
Valkon turned to Agramon motioning him forwards. "Let's go, Agramon. There is some cleaning to do for Lord Asmodeus. Starting with the dining room."

Noone wanted to eat with dust on the table and chandaliers and it should be clean simply out of respect for Az. Everything in the room needed a good dusting and he was sure there would be a linen closet nearby with cloth or even a featherduster. Maybe even a broom to sweep the mess up with once it was on the floor.

((Evil, we can jump to the dining room first since we have one and then go from there to various other places. I know that Milo and Dmitri are going to need us both at some point too.))

Eftemie
Valkon led Agramon to the dining room. It would not be hard to get lost in the maze of halls here, but he had a pretty good idea where everything was now. At least the major places that they all frequented. Those could be cleaned and then the rest later.

"We can start in here." Moving forwards, he opened a linen closet around the corner. Cloths were stacked as well as brooms and a bucket or two they could put the garbage into. He vaguely remembered seeing what looked like a refuse pile at the back of the castle. That would work for dumping trash he supposed.

Holding out a broom, he said, "The cobwebs and dust can be swept down from the walls chandeliers first, then we will worry about the floor and furniture. There's a bucket here that dirt can be scooped up in too. Then I'll show you where the refuse pile is later."

He glanced over at Rosenrot. If she wanted to help him, that was her choice.

EvilMadness666
Agramon looked at to the halls they passed and only hoped that he wouldn't get a task to clean it all for it would take him whole eternity to do so. Place looked huge and he didn't like it. Well ok there were lots of places to get lost or hide.

'' Tell me what is with this lovely necklace I got when for free? ''

He asked while pointing to the collar with a clock attached to his neck. He did feel strange, like something was missing, but still he was interested in all it's powers and abilities. He raised his left eyebrow when Valkon handed him the broom and stared in him few moments before he took it into his hands. The room was huge. But than again more time to spend with Rosenrot. He also picked up one of the buckets. He winked to Rosenrot and went to do his cleaning duties.

Rosenrot came closer to closet to take one more bucket and continued to follow Agramon giving Valkon one particularly poisonous look while passing by. If her looks could kill he would be long dead.

It didn't occur to Dimitri the amount of care it would take for the plants to truly survive in this deserted and dark wasteland - such was the case usually for a young boy, who often acted on impulse without second thoughts as to the results or consequences; then again, it had seemed harmless at the time to simply snatch a few memories of the place they were working to return to. Thus Dimi was in a sort of bind when, after several heartfelt tries, he found that the soil around Lord Azmoodeus's castle didn't seem to fit the bill for a garden and, if nothing else, was seemingly twisting his plants with a hidden darkness that reminded the young wyrm of the god himself. It was with a surly-looking Milo trailing behind that he toddled into the dining room in hopes of finding an adjacent kitchen with which to fill his half-full pot of bitterly dry soil and measly bouquet of pastel blue flowers with some very needed water. The very things seemed to be quietly screaming for nourishment, and so Dimi answered the call with a haste pace, for the first time thanking the boost in sensitivity from Azmodeus. Otherwise he was sure they would have gotten lost.

It was with some surprise that the twins found they were not alone despite having heard voices long before they actually hit the room - repestively, the trio would probably have heard them before they arrived as well due to the constant jangling of Dimitri's chains and cuffs binding his wrists. Rosenrot and Valkon appeared to be dictating a different fox character who held a broom in his hands about . . . cleaning? "Hey, you're our new maid?" Dimitri asked, stepping forward with the potted plants clasped tightly to his chest. Milo, upon spying Valkon, immediately grew all the more sour, a fang poking from his curled lips as he crossed his arms, doing all he could to restrain himself from insulting the fox-tailed freak from earlier so that they could get some information and get on away; just what he needed - another weirdo.

"You guys wouldn't happen to know if there's a sink around here, would you? These little guys need water to live over here." Dimi blinked as he gestured to what he held in his hands, winglets docking at the sight of Rosenrot's deathly glare that could match even Milo's angered look. He really hoped his brother had at least cooled down enough to not cause a scene . . .

Eftemie

Valkon watched Agramon. "Only Az knows entirely what the watches do. I do know none can cross over unless Az lets us right now." His lips twitched slightly. With the crow form, he was going to attempt it. He just wasn't telling anyone for now except Loa and Chronos. They were the only two he trusted.

He ignored Dmitri except for a stare with a raised eyebrow. His anger of earlier had filtered away and been mainly because of having needed more help to ensure they grabbed her since the opportunity had presented itself. Az didn't want them fighting and they had the lighters to worry about.

"Yes, he's the new maid. If you think of anything you need done, let me know and I'll bring him to wherever you need him. Let's see." He rocked back on his heels a minute, tilting his head to think about the rooms he knew. "The kitchen is through there, so I think the water probably works. You could check, but if not I think there is a fountain in the courtyard. It didn't look like it was running but it might just be turned off or clogged. There was dirty water in the basin." He replied to Milo, pointing towards a door on the other side of the linen closet. "I never had a reason to check the water before but I would think it's working."

"And you should know that we have a cage room for Agramon," he pointed at him since Rosenrot was supposedly on their side, "and another, but Eclipse has that one. We only caught the two lighters but Az has the goddess chained up also in his quarters. We pulled her through the portal before these guys came through."

Ol-j-man
Up to that point he had just been nodding, Milo persistently scowling at the yokai in the meanwhile as Valkon listed off an answer. Yet the minute the word "goddess" was uttered, the two stopped and in synch shot the other a sharp glance: it was a strange look and hard to full decipher, somewhere between outright apprehension, muted awe, and staggering surprise. Kita was . . . here? Now? "But, how could she-"

"-be taken that quick?" Milo's frown increased. Though neither were the brightest of the bunch at times, this was just screaming suspicion loud enough for even an eleven year old like himself to hear. The others had to be noticing that part, right? "Where are the cages rooms and Az's place? What other lighter?" he demanded, winglets still puffed with the memory of the balcony scene earlier; he was not one to quickly forgive and forget, especially not one who had basically called him useless. Him and that weird voodoo lady and that stupid fox guy that ratted him out in front of the god himself!

"Oh, and welcome to Lord Azmodeus's Castle, Agramon - in case no-one else's said it yet." Dimitri nodded to the new maid, letting his brother address Valkon and Rosenrot as he greeted the bakeneko. "Later, do you mind helping us pot all the plants? We kinda pulled a lot out on accident, and some of them are kinda big."

Eftemie
Valkon watched them a moment shrugging. "She showed up to protect a lighter. I think Az was trying to draw her out. And he put some sort of collar on Kita and moved to start a portal opening. Joachim showed up and while they were fighting the portal finished. Loa and I were trying to keep the other lighters that showed up from getting to Kita and we ended up shoving her through with Az following behind us. Agramon came through and so did another one before him. Only I think half of him is here and half of him is still there. Koaru or something is his name or so he said."

He frowned thoughtfully, then gave them the directions to both Az's quarters and the cage room. Pointing down the hallway and telling them which direction to go, Valkon laughed. "Az made the cage like a child's playground or something from the zoo. It's kind of funny."

"About the plants... when he's done here and partially in the hallway, I'm taking him back to let him rest and eat. Then I can bring him to your rooms and see what needs help with before I have him start on some of the other rooms. That work for you? I guess if you find water, that would keep them from wilting until you can get them planted. And what rooms did you take? I have the library and the small room connected to it." He didn't tell them of the secret passage behind the bookcases. He'd not fully explored it yet.

Shadzcat
Having listened intently to Valkon throughout the explanation, it took a moment for the boys to come out of their reverie to answer his question. At first, Milo was exceedingly hesitant to reveal their rooms to anyone, let alone Stitch-face, but Dimitri stepped in for him. “We’re in two of the towers, waay up near the top,” He made a motion up and around a little, mimicking the way the twin towers were entwined in such a way that the links of his chains on his hands clinked against each other. “One of them is the bell tower, so you can’t miss it. We’d appreciate all the help we could get whenever it’s best for you,” He smiled openly in thanks, a sharp contrast to his brother’s mostly unchanged detachment.

“Let’s go see the goddess now.” Milo seemed impatient to leave the pet project behind as soon as he discovered such an interesting development. Sure, the plants were pretty and all, but the goddess who had banished them . . . how could Dimitri not want to drop everything to finally meet her? The darker twin had to know why all of this had happened to them, but he should have known that his brother was not so easily going to forget his treasures from the Light Realm.

“Lord Azmodeus has her here, doesn’t he? So there’s nothing to worry about, no hurry.” Dimitri almost chided Milo’s eagerness to move on, but the good-nature of the comment managed to avoid ruffling the other twin’s feathers. “Let’s get the flowers all settled first, then we can see the goddess. That way the plants won’t die.”

Milo had to resist rolling his eyes at the idea. Dimitri had a point though. If anyone could keep someone under control, it sure looked like Azmodeus could. Just the thought of being a prisoner of the god’s made his skin crawl. Well, an actual prisoner, not just a slave of circumstance.

EvilMadness666
Agramon stopped with his cleaning duty to see who just came in the dining room. He remembered the two from the little scene that occurred on balcony. He wasn't to happy because he became a maid but at least he wasn't in that creepy cage room anymore.

Rosenrot got up leaving her bucket with trash to greet twins. From all those who were cast out they were the first she exchanged a conversation with. After hearing word maid she went back to her work while her tails swished from one side to the other so fast that one would think they would soon form a knot. She was not offended when Dmitri said it but Valkon wasn't her favorite ghostling at that time so how dare he say something like that.

Agramon petted her head to calm her down a little. She was sweet when she was mad. He nodded to Dmitri's words of welcome.

'' I'm not too fond of planting things, thats more Miyu's hobby. But if that keeps me away from that creepy cage I'll help. Without need for a rest. ''

He had to admit he learned some new things about situations on this side of the realm. Things that could prove useful later.

Rosenrots tails slowed down a little form Agramon's touch and then stopped when she heard that the goddess was here. She looked at twins and wanted to join them but she didn't want to leave Agramons side. But she did decide to go look for her later on her own.

Eftemie
Valkon frowned slightly. "We need to get the dining room and hallway done here first, then we can bring some buckets of dirt upstairs for you and help pot your plants. Then I can put him back for awhile and let him eat. I have some things I need to do too. Then later he can clean another room and bring some water up for you if that water in the kitchen works or the one in the fountain does."

"You know.. " he said after a moment. "You might talk to Chronos or Loa about setting up something with gears that would bring the buckets of water or dirt up to you rather than him carrying them up the stairs each time you need something. Maybe an elevator of sorts. As the plants grow, they'd need bigger pots and that means more dirt and water. This works for now though." He shrugged. It was their tower and they'd figure it out.

Ol-j-man
"S'okee, we're not really good with plants either," the young wyrm boy told Agramon with no shame in his smile. "But do whatever ya have to first, mkay? We're not a big on the to-do list anyway, methinks."

At the suggestion Valkon gave, Dimitri nodded exhuberantly, for even though they could make round trips from the ground floor to the towers by air easily, it would be arduous and monotonous work after a time; plus, it gave them a good reason to go visit the other members of this strange twisted castle. A glance told him Milo was still skeptical to visit either of those two regardless, still stuck on the notion that they should be seeing the goddess instead, but Dimi took the lead and replied happily, "Sounds like a plan then! Thanks, Mr. Foxtail. But, um . . . could you tell us where their rooms are really quickly?" Being as late as they were, by the time they had hit the castle they did not manage to catch much of a glimpse of anyone finding their rooms, having opted to a quick flight up into one of the open tower windows rather than a tiring stair walk that coudl have led them in circles.

EvilMadness666
'' Yea I know. I know. I'm going back to cleaning just don't cry. ''

Agramon got back to cleaning and with a little help of Rosenrot one fourth of room was clean. Well it wasn't shining but it wasn't so dirty anymore either. He looked at the buckets. they were already full and in need of emptying.

'' It would be good time for you to show where we could empty the buckets. ''

He turned to Valkon in search of farther instructions. looking at him for few moments decided to ask about they're plans with goddess now that she was in they're realm.

'' You know I have to admit you're attack was very well planned but tell me what do you plan to do with goddess now that you have her. ''

User Image

Rosenrot was a little busy bee and trying really hard to fit as much trash and dirt in those two buckets as possible making little mountains for the more she fits in them less times would they have to go to empty them and faster they would finish cleaning. She was really looking forward to planting.

Eftemie
Nodding at Milo and Dmitri, he explained how Loa had taken a room not far from his and the direction that was. Then he told them how to get to Chronos from Loa's. Oddly they were close enough to each other without really planning it. "We'll be up as soon as we get finished with this. I'll put off what I need to do for a little while. We'll bring some water and dirt up with us when we come."

"The trash is this way, Agramon." He indicated towards the kitchen and began walking that way to hold the door open. The trash was out the back door at the far end of the courtyard there. "And I have no idea what Az will do with her. We simply took the opportunity presented to us. I've not spoken to him about her and I've not talked to her to see what's going on." Valkon shrugged as if it did not matter to him. It did, but she would wait. "We might be able to find a couple more buckets out here and while we are at it, take a bucket of water and one of dirt up with us."

Shadzcat
"Okay! Thank you very much, Mr. Foxtail!" Dimitri called after the other Ghostling, his winglets waving a cheery sort of gratitute as he began to trot off toward the rooms. "C'mon, Milo, let's go see the others!"

"Eh? Hey! Wait up! You're gonna drop those if you don't be careful." Scowling, he ran ahead of Dimitri and snatched the potted plants from his brother's hands. "Last thing I want is to waste our time coming down here for help only to ruin the only thing we brought back from the Light Realm." His scold was coupled with an ill-tempered glare before he muttered so only someone with heightened senses could hear, "B'sides, you'd probably start crying or something."

His brother's reprimand surprised him, but however harsh it may have seemed, Dimitri knew that Milo was merely looking out for him, as always. As if to assert this, he felt the end of the feather-winged twin's tail nudge him forward gently and he nodded in understanding. "Okay. I'll lead the way then," He smiled at the dark-haired boy who kept his head down in discomfort at the idea of going to meet with strangers, waving goodbye again to Valkon, Rosenrot, and Agramon so his chains clinked while they headed off to see the others, "See you later!"

EvilMadness666
Agramon followed Valkon with one bucket in each hand and went to empty them at the far end of the courtyard leaving Rosenrot in kitchen to search for more buckets. There was still much work to be done.
One thought was born in him mind if they simply took the opportunity presented when capturing Kita what were they looking for when they stumbled upon her. That was one thing Rosenrot could help him with if Valkon wouldn't reveal the information himself. He scooped some dirt in one of the buckets and hurried back to kitchen.

User Image

Rosenrot found one more bucket and tried out the old water installations. The flow wasn't so strong but at least it worked well enough to fill the bucket. Rosenrot looked at Agramon when he came back. The bucket was filled with water and ready to go.

Agramon looked at Valkon while they were going back to dining room to finish cleaning.

'' So tell me what were you exactly doing in the forest when you stumbled upon good opportunity? ''

Eftemie
Valkon glanced around the pile of debris for a moment pulling out another bucket. Then he stopped to watch Agramon closely a moment. Shrugging as he turned away, "I was planning to cause some trouble just like the rest were supposed to. It was not like I had any other choice. Like your friend Rosie there, not all of us should be here. She seemed to be very selective on who she tossed out and kept."

He nearly growled in frustration, but then turned to stare at Agramon. His eyes appeared hurt as much as angry for a moment, but then it was the anger that won free. "I never did anything but a few harmless pranks on the living. In fact I had plans to help an old man plant his seeds when I found myself here suddenly. She tossed me out without any warning or hesitation. Why should I not cause trouble for her now whenever the opportunity arises? This is my place. For now. But I will make it back inspite of her and anyone else that gets in my way."

He was Az's for now. But only for now. He wanted to go home. He would go home.

"I think this bucket can be used for water for their flowers." Valkon stated turning his attention to the pail again. "It doesn't appear to have any holes in it." He put it under the faucet for filling. He would carry this one.

"After we get the water done, I need to return you to the cage a short time, Agramon. I have something else I need to do. It won't be long and there are other things that need done. Besides you could use something to eat." Valkon hesitated for a moment, then added, "Rosie can have a meal with you there."

((Evil, I need the break in here to keep my timelilne on track. I was thinking that afterwards we could start another thread. I know Valkon is going to want to have Agramon help him make a cart so that watering and such is easier to manage. And once they get constructs to help, Valkon plans to use a few of them to help Agramon out with various jobs. And once the plants start to grow we will have to help beat them back so that Milo and Dmitri can tame them lol. ))

(( This is an open RP, anyone can visit/respond to Kita. But please no god-moding or metagaming as to know what the goddess is thinking, its not as if she is speaking aloud in her thoughts. ))

While she was banished into the beast's room, she had time to fully recover. It seemed the goddess had done a decent job at fooling him, as well as the others. Tho a few drops of his tainted blood had entered her system, it was quickly culled by her own pure and light blood to do much of anything. At least if she came back with Az, he would leave her world alone for the most part. He would think he won...

An ear flicked as her eyes closed, she couldnt let him drink from her, he would only gain more power, which was how he became a god in the first place. A powerful one at that because he took so much of her. As well as she had to stay away from any drink or food in this world, in this hell... he had a tendency to lace his own blood within things to corrupt her... and she wouldnt go down that path again...

Loa had been thinking, mostly about what she had seen of the goddess that the beast god was so attached to. She was also considering their place among things and if they would be able to return back permanently at some point. She wanted back the house and those within it held answers for her...she could feel it even so far away, the hidden things within called to her. The prisoners were locked away for now, or being watched after by others that followed Azmodeus so she had decided to follow where her mind and curiousity had led her.

First she had gone to the kitchens, rumor was that the goddess was alone for now within Azmodeus' rooms. Frowning some she found that stuck as they were in the shadows there wasn't much in the way of food. Loa herself didn't really need to eat but at times certain foods interested her for tasting. She wasn't sure if the goddess actually ate but decided that it would be a nice gesture and opening for seeing her and getting a feel for her to bring her something. With some digging she found some cheese that was probably a bit sharper then it was meant to be but still seem palpable enough at least to her tongue and some crackers that by some strangeness were not stale - she wondered if perhaps some of the beast's lesser slaves had snuck across to pilfer food while they went about their work. Snagging one of the bottles of wine that was left from the dining hall meeting she placed everything on a tray.

Her reasoning for all this was very clear to herself but she doubted many of the others would understand. The voice of the old woman, Erzulie could be heard in her mind 'without the dark there is no light and without light we would not know the dark'. Though she was certain she had never heard the old woman say it the logic was there in her voice, at times the woman's voice held other advice and knowledge; something she was starting to find intrusive. Balancing the tray she started off toward Azmodeus' room, she had seen the goddess bend to him and his reaction to the goddess she knew what it was she was seeing. Love...Kita loved the beast and he her - a twisted love but one none the less; she had not affinity for such feelings but felt in this situation they may prove to be useful.

Pushing down her own vengeful nature she knocked on the door lightly and then pushed it open looking for Kita as she did, "hello?" unsure as to what to expect she attempted a generic greeting.

An ear flicked at the sound of the knock and the small voice. She recognized it easily, as she did all her 'children'. Tho she held no remorse or ill will toward any of them, she smiled a bit and turned to face the door. It was obvious she was very high above Az's influence, her green eyes shining bright, her color restored easily.

'Loa...' her voice was soft and welcoming.

Loa entered looking to Kita as she heard the goddess' voice. Though the goddess knew her she didn't know the goddess, at least not in person, having just been reborn at the start of everything. Moving over toward a table she held the tray with both hands considering her child size as she did, "I thought you might be hungry, horns. I don't need to eat...but I wasn't sure if you did or would want to."

She then settled the tray down with the cheese, crackers, and fresh wine bottle on it. Taking a moment she looked over Kita thoughtfully the goddess' greeting made her suspicious automatically. She didn't seem stunned or effected by Azmodeus anymore but wasn't attempting to leave at least from what Loa could see. Perhaps there had been more to the whole love thing then she realized.

With a slight sniff Loa spoke again, "so you banished us..." it wasn't judgemental just a statement. She'd get around to seeing if any information would be shared but laying it out on the table seemed like a good place to start.

Lestat floated in behind Loa, never seeming to be far from her, but his main objective had been to come visit the goddess that everyone had been buzzing about. He sighed, shaking his tiny head. Biting his lip, he watched from the sidelines, staying a few paces away from Loa, but enough where he too could face the goddess. He just looked at her for a little while. She was a strange creature, a beauty, but a strange one. That, and he still didn't really beleive in gods and goddesses, just people with immense amounts of power acting as such. Had she seen the creation of the world? Had she dreamt it? He had no idea, but he doubted she was omniescent like gods and goddesses were supposed to be. Neither Kita nor Azmodeus seemed to be that. Which was one of his main seeds of doubt against their godhood.

But she might know where Claudia was, if she recognized Loa without meeting her. Might know if he was alone here, or if he had another kindred spirit. Someone who knew him, someone who could make him good again. Something to do, really. As he'd rejustified to himself many times over since being in Azmodeus's care, he wasn't a bad person. Just very rambunctious and impressionable, and all around stubborn and stupid all at the same time. He made rash decisions, but they weren't always deliberately malicious. Licking his lips, he too came forward with the same question.

"What did.....what did we all do to deserve being pulled into this squabble? Some of us haven't even been in this world long, and I know I quite frankly don't hold much faith in gods or goddesses of any sort. This has nothing to do with us.....but we were cast out as if we had committed the crime. Forgive my bluntness, but why? I must know.....just for the sake of knowing it," he pleaded softly, looking at his lantern and watching it's steady blue glow. He just wanted to lose himself in it, to not have to think about these things. All this nonsense did was remind him he was dead, and had no friends and few allies, if any. It was a very lonely, isolated feeling. One he hadn't felt in quite a while.

Valkon had gone to his rooms. And as he had needed to he had ripped a part of a shutter free leaving a hole where the crows could come in. The glass was long gone and the hole was large enough that they could easily come in or out. And what mattered that the wind seemed to increase in the room. He had fluffy tails and blankets to keep him warm. But the more he tried to relax the less he could. She was here.

Soon he found himself standing at the doorway as Lestat began to ask questions of her. He stood stubbornly at the doorway, eyes narrowed in suspicion. Valkon might have trusted her once if he had even known of her, but now all she had from him was suspicion that she would injure them all again.

Light did not know it was light without the dark. And too much light would burn everything away until it was there was nothing left to give shelter to those who could not stand in it. But she had not cared one bit for that. She had simply banished them. He would never trust her again.

Watching Loa still with a soft look, she took note of the food and drink. The food, no traces of the god's blood showed there, the wine however.... her eyes closed as she took a deep breath, knowing the three around her quite well. They would begin to feel her closer than she was, like light fingers running over their forms, almost as a mother would, tho there was something dark in her own thoughts, but that would be hard to tell. A soft smile still spread over her lips and her eyes flashed lightly as they opened again.

'I banished the strong from a weak world...' she spoke calmly. 'If I did not, the world would have been destroyed and you all along with it. There was no time to explain, not time to answer questions or to sate fears. The beast you all know so well, stole my power long ago and has sense been taking it for himself. I could no longer allow it.' She looked to Loa 'Do you not wish to see the living family to find out answers of your past?', she looked at Lestat then 'and you, dear prince, are driven mad by being alone,' she smirked. How can I help you, guide you and give you your loved ones, your answers, if there is no world for them in which to reside?' She then looked to Valkon 'And of your 'friends', the same goes for them...'

Cinderfae
Loa shuddered and ran a hand over her arm at the feeling projected to her from the goddess. Looking around herself she growled faintly at the intrusion more to keep herself from allowing it to be soothing then out of actual annoyance. The motherly feeling pushed at some part of her, some locked memory shaking her head she blinked looking to Kita uneasily.

"Your attempting to influence us," her statement was bland, "of course you know what I wish for. Perhaps not all of what it entails but you know the basics."

"We cannot have this if the world is gone, but you gave us very little other choice in the matter at hand. By taking us out - all of us you left the light with no knowledge of what the dark is, how long would the world last then?" She growled slightly the beast god had given those cast out a way of survival but to get home if his power continued to grow as it had what awaited there would be worthless.

Her hand ran over the bone juju on her belt, she knew the blame settled with the goddess she after all had allowed him to steal her power. Loa made a note of it scowling somewhat to herself. She doubted it would do them much good to start pointing fingers, how to allow them to return for that which they wanted was the real question.

Valkon stared at her, eyes narrowed. She thought her words would change his mind now? Not likely. He knew the marking he now wore where once he had not. Yes, he pulled his pranks, but he still did as much to protect those that meant something to him. He was one of the strong. But he remembered his first thoughts upon finding himself here and they had been of the old man he was going to help that day.

"You made a mistake. You only made the world weaker by kicking out all the strong. Not all were tied to him. Now they are, and you gave them to him. You've only made him stronger." Turning away he moved towards his rooms. He had more bones to collect and crows to play with.

What did Az want with her anyhow? In frustration, Valkon entered his room after listening to what was happening where the goddess was chained. Weak. Pathetic. But he felt no sympathy for her. Tossing his hat to the table beside the bed, he frowned as he sat down on the bed.

His words to her were the truth. She had tossed out the strong leaving them vulnerable to Azmodeus. They had had no choice but to take the marking from him. It was their survival then. And now. Flopping back on the bed, he just lay there, arms under his head as he looked upwards at the ceiling. The paint and stone were chipped and cracked. Some even looked ready to crumble.

He missed his camp. The fresh air. Being outside. And most especially he missed the animals that wandered his way. Even the old man was in his thoughts as he thought back over the sunlight and shade in the woods. A part of him thought about the fire, but he knew that the animals were smart enough to run. They would be alright. He hoped.

It just fit that was where he belonged. It was where he wanted to be. But because of her, he was stuck here.

"Stupid witch!" he muttered, curling up, his tails slipping over him for warmth. He was going to like that. Tails were rather interesting things.

Valkon slept for a couple hours waking up yawning still. He heard a faint tapping at the wooden shutter on the window and blearily sat upwards, rubbing his eyes. The tapping continued and finally with a faint sigh, he moved towards it. The glass in the window was gone but he struggled for a moment to one of the boards removed. When the hole was big enough, he poked his head out to find his crows clinging edge of the window.

He laughed then moved back waiting for them to come in. All three moved, flying into the room and finding places to perch. Valkon laughed again as they settled down.

Moving into the library room, he settled down to sort out the pile of bones he had in the center. Sitting down on the table itself, he pulled the book into his lap to look for the type of bone it was.

"Hmm.. it looks like this one. Ulna." Glancing over at the skeleton he was working on, he tilted his head in thought. "A rat I think. I wonder if I can get the rest of the bones figured out." His words were for himself but he heard the flutter of wings nearby. Looking up he saw that all three birds were watching him quizzically. "I'm putting it together. Then I might be able to figure out how it works. Like I did with the crow."

They continued to watch as he moved things around in the pile. After a bit, he slipped out to get something to eat. He liked eating sometimes but this was not for him. It was for them. Finding some old bread he figured they would like it so he carried it back. Placing portions in three piles, he just watched them a few moments. Each bird moved to the one in front of it beginning to eat quickly.

Valkon turned back to his pile of bones, sorting and placing them where they belonged. The flutter of wings caused him to look up again and he saw they were gone. He had no doubts they'd be back. They were his friends. The word slipped over him in annoyance. She had said something about his friends too and he growled in frustration gritting his teeth. But as he gnashed them, he thought about Chronos needing the ones he had.

Moving into the bedroom, he began the task of removing three of them. He was tempted to just take him the entire skull. Then he thought about it some more. He'd have the watch to keep with him. And the rest of the bones once interred again would allow him know if anyone touched them again. Picking it up, he moved towards the door. Chronos could have the entire skull to use. It did not matter so long as it was protected.

Slipping out the door still carrying it, he began looking for Chronos room. It shouldn't be too far and his tails twitched faintly as he walked.

She moved along the hidden passage Samedi close behind her as she goes. Her hand up running over the stones; Loa was moving on a guess and hoping that what she believed was likely true for the castle actually was. Because if not she was going to be very annoyed for having wasted her time and having to leave the area and go around to the front door of Valkon's room.

A grim smile came to her face as a block shifted beneath her touch, it seemed her hunch had paid off. Pressing the block inward she waited a moment as the wall swung inward, peering inside she took stock of the room confirming it was indeed Valkon's before stepping within. Turning she carefully shut the door to the passage, Samedi settled in next to it in a guarding manner the nightmare content to follow his mistress in whatever strange dealings she was up to.

Loa paused and scratched one of Valkon's resting crows behind the crown of feathers on top of it's head before moving toward the rug in the middle of the room. Likely remembering her from when their master and friend had first picked them up they didn't seem overly alarmed she was there. Leaning down she used a bit of power to roll the carpet up and set it to the side, looking over the clear expanse of floor she nodded slightly before taking a small brush from the belt of her dress.

Leaning down she then starts to paint an image on the floor, first a circle and then a triangle and various runes within it. Soon the paint makes a strange twisting image upon the floor of the room. With three major points, one for the past, present, and future - three all together, three making it more powerful.

User Image

The point for past faced the doorway, Valkon she decided would need to sit there. He likely would not appreciate what he saw but that was not her problem. From a small bag she then took three candles and placed them at each point, lighting them Loa then moved across from the door on the far side of the circle and sat - waiting.

Eftemie
Unable to find Chronos, Valkon glanced down at his skull. He could leave it inside the door but he'd rather give it to Chronos personally. That was the only way to ensure he would get it. Turning away, his choice made, he walked backed to his room. Very few seemed to be around and he figured that most would be out and doing something for themselves at this point. His footsteps padded softly down the stone echoing slightly in the hall.

He hesitated with his hand on the door for a moment, then opened it wide enough to step in. His eyes narrowed when he saw Loa and a creature in his room. Then he noticed what she was doing. Suspicion slipped down over him and a growl rumbled in his throat. "What are you doing in my room, Loa? And I didn't say you could paint anything on my floor! Get rid of it and put the rug back where you found it!"

Walking forwards he intended to ruin what she had done by scuffing his foot across it. But as he moved his foot, he stopped in mid-stride. He blinked in surprise as power washed down over him. "What have you done, you witch you? Stop this. Now."

Valkon shivered lightly, caught by whatever this was. Something tickled his thoughts as if it were waiting, calling to him. He blinked staring at the markings. They wavered in and out of his sight, almost as if beginning to dance. But it was not dance he knew and he tried to pull back.

"Loa.. stop this... now." he repeated though his voice relayed that it was half hearted. Something was almost calling for him. A feeling that he had been there before slipped down over him and he was almost intrigued. Like when he first completed the crow skeleton and then could change. What was happening here?

Cinderfae
Loa waited for Valkon to feel the draw of the circle before speaking, Samedi for his part settled quietly watching his mistress was not alarmed so neither was he "sit down, it's time you stopped acting a child without knowing yourself." The bone fetish sat across her lap, picking it up she a circle in front of her as if encompassing that which was drawn on the floor.

"Part of you is missing, this missing part is hidden within your past. Once you know it...your mind will be complete." Loa wasn't sure what Valkon would see, but she could feel he was missing part of his past. She hoped whatever it was he was missing would allow him to aid her. She didn't know what games the gods were playing but she knew that they would all have to be ready if they wanted their world to be complete.

"We must pool our assets and you must know what it is you are pooling them for." Loa rested the fetish on her lap and then sat still her eyes peering up to watch Valkon intently. If he wished he could break away but she hoped the draw of knowledge would hold him.

Eftemie
Valkon barely paid attention to Loa. He could almost see something in those dancing runes. Blinking several times he stood there, but then sat down without even realizing it. His skull on his lap as he continued to watch almost enthralled with the shimmering he saw in the air before him.

A feeling of warmth slipped down over him as he felt pulled headlong into that swirl. It was confusing causing him to quiver slightly and he drifted into it without direction. For a moment but then an image appeared before him. All he could do was watch.

A boy walked past him as if he did not even see the magic around them. Briefly Valkon wondered what this was as everything else around him faded. He turned in a full circle to see the area nearby brightly lit with sunlight. A magical place.

But then as suddenly as he had appeared, he changed position. It was not him standing to the side, but him walking. He blinked in surprise. He was the boy. James. That was the boy's name. His name? What had happened? He tried to turn away but his thoughts and actions became those of the child as if he had no will of his own. He was a spectator on this scene though he was the one participating. His confusion continued as he walked along, the spirit there so merry and bright.

A free afternoon and all his. His birthday present. Today was his thirteenth and his father had looked at him oddly when he had simply asked for a free afternoon. No chores. No fencing. No books. Just what he wanted to do. And his father had laughed saying if that was what he wanted, then that was what he got. His mother had just smiled, hugged him as she ruffled his hair and told him to be sure to take some food with him.

James smirked as he moved down the path and further into the woods. How he loved this place. With the small hidden nooks and the sunlight shining downwards scattered from the branches as they curved and curled through the air. This was his happiest time and quite often he could coax an animal or two to his fingertips. His parents could not understand it and always forbid him to go too far into the thickets he was now finding his way through. A thorny branch caught his shirt pulling on it. A faint rip was heard leaving a small piece of fabric on it but the boy never noticed. So caught up in the world around him that his eyes saw little other than the beauty before him.

Valkon heard all these thoughts as if they were his own, but they were not. Were they? Again a shiver slipped down over him and he grasped the skull even tighter in his lap.

His father thought he should be practicing his fencing more or studying books. But James wanted the freedom that other things provided. He had too much of being proper and catering to people older than he. All he wanted was to explore the woods and places others did not go. This was his path and what he wanted so every time he had a chance, he went.

The sunshine dappled down in front of him, caressing the leaves and air. Small bits of dust rose upwards, caught and swirled as if to land only to be touched again by the slight motion of the breeze that playfully licked across in front of him. He held his hand outwards, studying the pattern on his skin for a moment, just enjoying the play of light and shadows. A smile slipped across his expression as he was snared and captivated entirely by the delight he felt in these simple things. The sound of the insects moving here and there caused him to move closer to the blossoms that radiated a pale gossamer blue with bright yellow centers. Startled several brilliant blue and green butterflies flew upwards causing a cascade of color through the area as others joined them.

He frowned at the flowers as he remembered the ones that Milo and Dmitri had in their hands. Pale blue with yellow centers? His fingers shook but he never noticed as he let go of the skull to clench his fists tightly. Why did he feel so trapped suddenly?

James laughed, but stared in awe at the myriad forms of life he saw in front of him. The thought to capture one never dared to touch his mind as he moved further into the wood. This place was special and he'd never told anyone of it. He never would. It was not exactly his, but he had been allowed into it and noone would be allowed to intrude and injure anything here. Not if he had anything to say about it.

James whittled away the afternoon exploring the small places. Several times he caught bright glimpses of red fur that revealed the foxes watching him as they went about their own daily needs. A deer he chanced upon stood staring at him a moment before understanding he meant it no harm and simply walked away, its fawn following closely beside. The birds above twittered as he moved from hill to flat ground and back again. Each one gave him music as he whistled to them.

Sitting down at the edge of the nearby stream, he pulled the sandwich out from the small bag he carried and the container of water. Several times he stopped to toss bits of bread to the small creatures that were nearby. They stared at him and then moved to pick up the pieces he had given to them. Soon he was sitting with a bird perched on his shoulder and another on his foot.

When he was finished, James got to his feet. He had more food with him but he wanted to go deeper into the wood and study the rocks that he had found the last time. Of course he had gotten into trouble that day. He had expected to if he got caught, but the wonder in the woods was something that he could not die.

He laughed as he began to climb the rocks. Some were huge boulders and he climbed on top of one quite easily. Then he jumped to the second. But the third, he stared at a long moment. It was too far away but he could climb to the top of it and then he would be able to see everything through the opening in the trees nearby. A moment later he had climbed down and off quite easily and even was moving towards the one he really wanted to stand atop in only a few moments.

Valkon began to shiver violently, shaking his head as if he knew what was coming, but in the end, he was transfixed, held tightly between fear to go on and the need to see. Neither seemed a good spot to be in and he shook as if to wake himself up, but could not. It was a waking dream and one that held him firmly in its grasp.

His eyes lit up in appreciation as he marveled at the striations in the stone. It was filled with browns and tans speckled with white, pink, red, and black. Quite beautiful to his way of thinking. Maybe he would chip a piece off to take home. Sitting in the window of his room it would glitter prettily. The rock would not be the first one he had carried home. Rubbing his hands lightly together, he flexed them slightly as he glanced upwards to the top. It was not that far.

His muscles stretched as he moved from one handhold to the next. Very carefully he found places for his feet and hands until he got to the point he could pull himself up and over. For a moment he simply lay back on the pockmarked surface of the rock. His breath came heavily as he closed his eyes to take a moment's respite. Then his eyes opened, excited in the knowledge that he had made it. Turning around, he got to his feet moving to the side that was open. He could see out across the expanse ahead of him. The rolling hills led down to the village where antlike carriages and horses moved. He could even just catch the side of his family's stables to the side and he smiled widely. This was a wonderful place to be. He could see everything.

For a long while he stood there simply gazing at it. Then he noticed it was getting late. He'd need to get home soon. Moving towards the edge, he glanced back over his shoulder to take one more look. His toe caught the edge of one of the holes that pocked the top made from the rain that had fallen over the ages. Before he could stop himself, James found himself falling to the ground below. His body hit the hard rocky surface with a thud when it landed, his wrists broken where he had tried to catch himself. A sickening snap was heard as James landed head first into the boulder nearby

For a time he knew nothing but then his eyes opened slowly. It was nearing dark and he could not move no matter how he tried to focus. He could barely see and knew it was getting dark out. His parents would kill him for falling and hurting himself. He felt as if wedged between something but he could not move his head more than to the side to see. It hurt incredibly when he did move and it left him gasping for breath. Finally he just knew he would have to wait until they found him. If they found him.

"Stop... " he managed to whisper. "Stop.. I don't want to... " he gasped. "I don't want to remember this. They... he.." But then he was pulled back tightly to be the boy again.

It was nearly dark when he felt the fur against his face. At first he was afraid to open his eyes. But then he did, staring into the face of a fox. It's bright red fur covered the nose and the ears tickled his cheek. It lay curled up against him as if for warmth. It was getting a bit cooler as it got darker and James was truly beginning to get frightened. But then as he stared into the eyes of the creature he saw a gentleness that filled him with wonder. He tried to speak but found he could not.

A quick tongue reached out rasping against his face for a moment then the creature settled back down to simply sleep. The boy sighed. At least he was not alone. At least there was that. He would have to return and see he got food. As the night passed, James cried, the tears falling down his face. Noone had come yet. What little of his body he could feel hurt.

"The fox..." he whispered. "Run... run away..."

The fox blinked its eyes open when the warm drops fell upon its nose. The creature stared at him for a long time before it touched its nose to his face. Curling even closer, it let James bury his face into its fur, curling about his head as it tried once more to comfort him. It knew this one was injured but could do nothing except what it would have for one of its own.

As the daylight rolled around, James could barely open his eyes. Everything seemed strange to him. The pain was still there but starting to seem distant. The boy figured he was simply tired. He had tried to speak to the fox again but in the end gave up when he could form no words at all. Something was very wrong with him. The sun was shining but the last thing he felt was like smiling or playing. Tiredness slipped down over him and he nearly sighed. Sleep would be good was all he could think.

"James!"

"James!"

At first he did not hear them at all. The voices were distant and he was so tired. The fox's ears perked up nervously, but he did not want to leave the boy alone. It sat up, still sitting as close to James as it could.

When he heard them he tried to yell again, but something hurt badly and he closed his eyes tiredly. He had no way to answer them. None at all. The fox anxiously licked his jaw as its tail twitched back and forth.

As the men came around the rock, they saw the boy but then stopped upon seeing the fox. The child's body was twisted and the creature sat at his head. Anger slipped free as one growled about the bad luck that foxes bring. An arrow was notched and suddenly let loose pinning the creature to the ground. It yelped in fear and pain, struggling for an instant. Its toppled over, twitching, its nose inches from the boy's own.

Tears slipped free as he struggled to tell them not to, but then he say the light dying in the creature's eyes. The soft red fur seemed to dull in his sight and he stared, caught by its gaze. For an instant he saw its death there, but then as the world began to darken on him and the fox's body was tossed aside, he understood what the fox had tried to tell him. James suddenly knew his own death was reflected there as everything went dark on him. The creature had protected him because it knew and was trying to make it easier. The fox's body lay where they had killed it.

"Enough!" Valkon jumped to his feet, startling the crows into the air. His skull hit the floor dropping into the spot he had vacated. His ire turned on Loa, his eyes blazing in fury. "Witch! Stay away from me!" He blinked hard, shifting to crow. Instantly he was in the air and out the window. Why had she done that? Maybe he didn't want to remember. The fox had only been there to help and yet they had killed it. Even the wolves he had seen had left him alone, passing silently or stopping to play for a few moments just as the birds and other creatures did from time to time. He flew out into the darkness where he hoped she could not reach him again. Why had he needed to remember? Why?

Cinderfae
Loa sat through the vision watching Valkon's reactions, at his outburst she continued sitting solemnly and watched him fly to the window in his crow form. He now knew, he knew there was more to him then the darkness a reason to wish to balance it; at least she hoped. She had done all she could for now. Standing she adjusted her skirt and tucked the bone fetish, brush, and left over paint away in the bag. Looking back at Valkon's floor she stepped forward murmering softly, making a sign over the circle she felt the power dissipate. And then with a thought called the rug back, allowing it to fall over the floor again and hide the marking. The marking wouldn't be easy to get up, and Loa wasn't going to take the time for that, although it stained the floor the power that was in it was now dead.

"Come Samedi, he will need time. Hopefully it will not be too much time," the Lore on her heels Loa moved toward the secret passage running her hand over the molding to allow it to open. Stepping within she disappeared toward her room letting the door slide shut.

Eftemie
He had gone through the window as fast as he could needing to get away from her and whatever she had done to his room. Flying upwards around and around the castle, Valkon drew the attention of the other crows. His thoughts were so chaotic that he could do little more than that. The crows followed him, spiraling upwards in confusion. Many others joined them thinking one of their own was in pain. Soon all the birds flocked behind simply flying circles around and around the upper tower.

It was some time before Valkon let himself think and when he did, he landed on a portion of roof where a gargoyle statue was perched. It was wide enough that he changed shape, sitting down his back against the statue itself. The birds landed round him, some on the gargoyle and others the roof nearby simply to watch and listen. It was what they did other than steal.

Pulling his knees up to his chest, he wrapped his arms around, just rocking for several long moments. His eyes were still filled with pain and anger. Not merely angry at Loa but at what had happened when he had died.

Why had she felt he needed to remember this? Something put her up to it. Or someone. His eyes narrowed in thought. Kita. And where had she gotten that creature? He had never seen such a one and she had not brought it back from the world when they had returned. Again it had to be Kita. Az would have made certain they all knew if he had given someone a reward or some duty over another simply to make them all want to do more.

Valkon grumbled inwardly. Two witches manipulating. She had spoken of his friends though he had walked away then thinking she had meant Loa and Chronos. Now he understood she had meant the friends he had before he died. The animals and creatures that he fell compelled to seek out. If she knew of the creatures then she knew of the fox. Why had she not stopped them that day when he could not? Why? She was a goddess and it was within her power to do something about it.

One thing this had revealed to him. The living were as cruel as the gods were. The fox had been killed for simply trying to comfort him. And Kita had banished them all here for basically no reason at all other than she was afraid. But he scowled if what she said was true and he would destory it all, then someone must do something. All the creatures there would be destroyed and how could he allow that to happen? He loved the animals. The memories had shown him that much. The living he had no use for at all. So too for the supposed goddess and her mate. But he would have to bide his time for now.

Would the creatures survive if turned out into the darkness he had been forced into? Valkon knew the answer as he thought the question. No. They could not. They would change from what they were to something else. He growled in frustration again. As if he could believe one word of what she said. He had not had a choice when she had cast him out, but he also knew what he would have been if the fox had not been killed. He'd have been a child of light rather than dark. A secret he would have to keep for now.

He had been right when he said she gave Az the strong. The marking tied them to Az and his power. He was not strong enough to tackle Asmodeus if he even needed to. But if she were the problem, he was not strong enough to take her aside either. He did not believe either and had walked away from her.

It was simple. Loa had remained and spoken with the goddess. Something Loa knew had made her decide to act on him. Why?

He clenched his teeth. He'd have to confront the little witch. And then the older one. His eyes narrowed in frustration. If he had his way, he'd leave them both here with Az and take the world for his own protecting the creatures there. The living would be safe by default. Not that they deserved it. But for now he had questions and he would find answers.

Shifting to crow again, Valkon jumped into the air, spiraling downwards towards his rooms. The crows followed him, four in number that separated from the rest of the murder. He dropped into the room easily landing in the library on the table of bones, stones, and various other things. Picking up a bone he dropped it in front of them. Then he squawked explaining as best he could that he needed such things. Lots of them. Three crows squawked in return, then they were gone from the room. The last simply watched him. It was the smallest and youngest of all four.

Silently it watched him as he watched it. Then he changed shape moving towards the door. Stopping suddenly he glanced back at the bird. Tapping his shoulder he indicated it move there. For a moment it simply stared at him. Tapping his shoulder again, Valkon watched as the creature flew to him. It hesitantly gripped the top of his shoulder, trying to find a balance. He waited while it adjusted itself. When it was settled to his left shoulder, Valkon nodded, petting it a moment. Then he moved into the hallway.

He and Loa were going to have a talk. Then he would see Kita again.

Eftemie
He didn't even knock when he got to her door. Valkon wanted answers and he planned to get some of them. Loa knew more than she was saying but instead of saying she had information, the witch had done something to him to unlock his memories. Why he was not sure but he damn well planned to find out. Although he had noticed she had put the rug back and removed whatever power had laid there, he had not liked her intrusion into his room and he'd tell her not to do it again in such a way. Or there would be hell to pay and he'd unleash more than his crows on her.

Valkon stepped inside, staring around him, the crow still on his shoulder. "Loa, we need to talk. Now." he growled. "Exactly what are you doing? What did she say to you?"

Cinderfae
Loa glanced up from a sketching she had started over her desk in a piece of black chalk, the symbols were runic in design and had started to scrawl over the surface. She didn't look up right away when Valkon entered, after all she had been expecting him and was actually glad he showed up as expected; she'd had been very put out if she had to go looking for him herself.

"Hello Valkon," she looked up finishing up the protective symbol, resting the chalk to the side she sat calmly Samedi sat below her at the foot of the desk. Quirking a brow slightly a small hint of a smile came to her face, though there was no amusement or happiness in the expression.

"I helped you remember some of what it was to be yourself, it should actually make you stronger. Once you stop fuming over the whole ordeal," Loa held her hand up slightly, "don't get angry, I understand they are difficult memories but I felt you would need all of what you can muster for what is coming."

"The goddess attempted to gain me as her pawn, much as the beast has already done." Loa sighed faintly, "sometimes this is why I wish the gods would stay quiet. She speaks of the darkness becoming too strong and destroying the world we came from. Along with anything that we may have held dear, I have interests from the world we actually belong in ones I do not want to be destroyed."

"The goddess of course said the beast would destroy it all, I don't know if this is true. But if it appears to be I plan to be ready, there needs to be some sort of balance or our existence won't matter." Loa paused, "I sought to remind you why you would want that sort of balance as well. I do not seek to under mind Azmodeus - as his full plan has not surfaced yet and I will not turn over and allow those that would lock us away at the word of the goddess continue to attempt to."

Eftemie
He had folded his arms and simply waited on her for the explanation. A glare was still firmly seated on his face and his eyes still held the anger in them even after she stated what she did. "That's why I walked away from her. Anything she says is suspect. Just as Az's words are since we had no true choice with him either. I'd have nothing to do with either of them if I had a choice. Even moreso with what I know from the memories you opened up. And whether you have interests or not, it does not entitle you to decide for others. It makes you no more than they are."

"She can't be trusted. Even if she did give you that." He indicated the lore. Unless Loa denied it, which was most likely a lie, he'd know for certain if Loa had gained it from her. He would not trust it anymore than he did Loa at the moment. "It may be helping you but it is her creature and perhaps should not have been accepted so blindly. And if she needed help, then she should have asked for it before simply tossing everyone out."

"And what does it matter if I am stronger or not? She thinks I will help her? If I can find all my bones and get a way back, then I'm gone from here. She won't find them again to banish me when I'm through." He had already been thinking of that- finding a way to remove his bones so that noone would ever have a chance at them again."

Cinderfae
Loa calmly waited as Valkon spoke, "yes but even if we wish to have nothing to do with them, their strength and abilities make it so we have to." Loa rested the bone fetish on her lap as she watched the other ghostling, "and would you really have preferred ignorance? Because with ignorance you would have continued on acting like a hurt child and there might not have been any world for you to escape back to."

Loa smirked faintly glancing to Samedi, the Lore glanced to Valkon a moment and then up to Loa. "It wasn't taken lightly or without thought, I have considered she may attempt to use such a thing to spy on me. However, if you believe the goddess and you believe Azmodeus she is the goddess over all of us. Even if she did cast us out, which means even you are her creature whether you like it or not. As for help...I don't think it is that simple," Loa folded her hands thoughtfully, "as I stated I don't truly know what either of them are up to. But we should be pushing ourselves more and gathering strength if we actually want to be able to return."

"You won't be able to return anywhere if it doesn't exist. So to do all this finding your bones, finding a way back...you will have to be strong."

Eftemie
Valkon stared at her, eyes warning her. "I will make it back. And I was a kid when I died, why would I act any other way? She could have protected us both as a goddess. I'd have been one of her lighters. Now I am what I am and I don't care if she likes it or not. Or you. I'll do as I wish. Don't go deciding what is best for me again, Loa. You won't like it."

"And as for protecting my friends, I already am. Why do you think I have the crows? There will be others. Many others I will call to me. And she may be over us all, but who does she answer to? Who made her the goddess? Do not be so ready to give her such power as that without knowing she in fact does have it."

"I will do as I need to. Stay out of my way." Valkon growled turning for the door. Turning for the door, he said, "I'm going to go see if I can find her. I want to hear what she says for herself. Then I'm going to work on my bones some more. I need to get my skull to Chronos yet so I can find the rest."

Cinderfae
Loa sighed slightly and shook her head, he was being stubborn much like she would expect of a male. "Valkon we cannot change what has already happened. Who is to say what right it would be of ours to chose who is a goddess and who is not?" At his statement of plans she smiled faintly, "it sounds like a good plan. Do be careful though, light has a tendency to burn after all."

Loa sighed slightly, "do as you need to then, but keep in mind to succeed especially against a deity of any type you will likely end up needing allies."

Eftemie
"Then I suggest you worry about getting yourself stronger too. Because you will need my help as much as I need yours, but I won't put up with something like you did today again." Valkon replied. "If you see Chronos, tell him I'm looking for him."

Then he was out the door, the crow still on his shoulder. It had not moved though it knew he was upset. Now to find Kita.

(( Appologies for the late post. If you do not want this post here, than let me know and I can delete it. :3 ))

Chronos had been far to busy with tasks and a sudden guest to his room to reach the library in time for what had taken place. So late in fact he had missed everyone by quite a bit. This time he did not debate on entering, he simple opened the door and walked into the library with his scythe in hand.

He looked around at all the improvements that this ghostling had made to this room. Most notable were the skeletons he had out. Valkon had such interesting hobbies... It was most amusing.

Instead of peeking around he paused in his movements on top of a rug and leaned on his scythe. The clock was nearly finished, but no more progress could be made now until he had that skull. Chronos was willing to wait all night if he had to, but the rest was well needed after the little 'trip' had had just taken.

His tail hung limp behind him, but his ears moved around like radars, picking up on any noise that should arise.

Eftemie
Valkon decided to return to his room temporarily. The crows might have returned with bones and he would want to send them out again. The more he had, the quicker he had them and the faster he would have another shape.

When he opened the door to see Chronos standing there, he nodded, shutting the door behind him. "I was bringing you the skull earlier but returned to find that witch in my room. It's the one right here. I was going to just bring teeth but decided you can use the skull." Walking over he pushed his skull towards Chronos. "Watch out for her tricks." He growled.

A flurry of wings swept into the room, from the bedroom, causing Valkon to glance over at them. Each one carried something. He grinned, patting the table. At least this much was working out right. Patting each one, he gave them a bit of bread from the piece he had stashed nearby. Then he sent them out again. Looking at what they had brought him, he pushed the green gem towards Chronos while moving the bones to a pile where similar ones were. "You can have that. I guess they like shiny things too."

He suddenly stared at Chronos as if really seeing him for the first time. The red fur caught his attention. Valkon blinked in faint surprise. "You're a fox! I never noticed that before."

((It's okay. XD Valkon was planning to return to his room anyhow before he goes looking for Kita. He's pretty angry at Loa still. Not sure how much of his memories he would share with Chronos, but he might since he's a fox. And I added that just for you, Gun. XD ))

GunSniper
(( ROTFL, oh that made my day. <3 ))

Chronos took the skull with his free hand as it was shoved upon him. Carefully he balanced the skull on top of his scythe before following Valkon to the table to accept the gems. He had already used the blue on in the base of the watch, so this green one would be used for Loa's watch.
"Loa seems to have fun with her life..." He commented on his warning. "She makes use of her existence." Chronos rubbed his thumb over the smooth sides of the gem. A satisfied grin remained on his face as he looked from the gem to Valkon.

"You shouldn't worry yourself so much with what she does. Life would be so much better for you if you did not weigh yourself with worry, anger, and resentment." He tapped his scythe with his pointer finger. "I have found this to rather annoy my enemies. It is a good strategy..." By not accepting or paying mind to insults thrown at him, Chronos found that it only caused those he faced to do stupid things in their rage. It was quite an amusing sight. But such a skill took long to practice.

When Valkon pointed out the obvious Chronos suppressed a laughter. That comment had now made his day better. Such an amusing fellow.

"At your service my friend." He gave him a slight bow. The grin widened on his face as he straightened his posture. The skull still balancing perfectly on the top of the scythe.

Eftemie
"Well, what she did, she shouldn't have. Painted some stupid symbol on my floor after removing my rug." He rubbed his temple absently for a moment. "Maybe I didn't want to remember what happened when I died. Seems to me it should have been my choice. Not hers. Bah!"

The crows had swooped out through the window again and he turned to Chronos to watch him. A faint smile appeared as he watched him. "I used to watch the foxes all the time in the wood when I was living. They were such fun to play with. When I died..." his smile became a frown for an instant. "One showed up just to curl up with me because I was hurt. My father killed it thinking it was bad luck." He shook his head. "The one thing I will never forgive him for. It was just keeping me company." He laughed, shrugging. "It just never occurred to me that you were a fox."

A sudden deep sigh slipped through him. He would need to talk to Az at some point. "Have you seen Az by the way? I think I need to talk to him about if I should try to just slip through from time to time to spy on the others and see what they are up to. I still think I might be able to get through on my own with the crows. But I'm not entirely certain. I could steal things we need that way and alone with the crows, I don't think too many would notice me. What do you think?"

GunSniper
Chronos stuck the gem in his sash than leaned on his scythe. He looked up at the skull as Valkon mentioned his death. So that's what they were doing?
"Useful information, though hard to face." He grined as he looked back to Valkon. "It should give you a better understanding of your afterlife."

He rolled his hand than flicked his tail. "Foxes are truly amazing creatures... I am fortunate to have become one with one at my own death." Chronos' ears twitched when Valkon's words became sour and the look on his face changed. "Hm, and why did you not tell your father that the fox was only there to comfort you?"

There was more to this story, yes, but Chronos was willing to see just how much Valkon was willing to tell. It might do him some good to get it off of his chest. There was no fun in being irritated, no life if there was no fun.
"I have, he appeared in my chambers not to long ago. But has moved on since than. Might try the temple... " He spoke with a grin. Chronos decided to be careful on who he told where Az was. There was a mistrust in the air...

Eftemie
"I was in the woods looking around and climbing on some rocks. I fell and I was hurt. I couldn't move or talk. They didn't find me until the next day, but the fox, he curled up with me that night. Then when they showed up the next day, I was barely able to even see and the fox.. well, he wouldn't leave me. I was looking into his eyes when he died and I must have died a few minutes later. Nothing I could do. I tried, but... " he shrugged.

"My father always said not to accept what one sees immediately. Ask questions. He should have known that fox couldn't do that to me." Valkon shook his head. "Either way it's done now." He grinned. "I guess that's why I have so many tails. I wish I knew where his soul went. I'd thank him now and protect him. It meant alot to not be alone even if it was my fault for not paying attention."

"Hmm... okay. I'm still not sure what's going on between he and that goddess. She started telling me things earlier but I walked away. Not sure I trust her at all. But I'm going to try to get through to the other side on my own with the crows before I talk to Az. Just not sure it will work. If it doesn't I might see if he can boost his mark for me so I can. I want to look for her book and steal a few other things that we might need. If I can get through as a crow, I might be able to in other forms also, without bothering him to open a portal each time. The crows get here somehow."

He smirked slightly. "It's worth a try anyhow. And should be fun."

GunSniper
"ah, I see" Chronos grinned. "Than don't hold it against your father. One can only imagine how it must have felt to see his son dead next to an animal." Chronos chuckled. It sounded as if he had actually experienced this before. "All logic and thought ran from him in the the instant he killed your friend..."

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. The grin vanished from his face the moment he did this, but it was not gone long at all. A quick second later and the grin was back.

"But what a useful task you have come up for yourself." He chuckled. "Most fun indeed. If there is anything I can do to aid this amusing plan, I am at your service." He lowered his head in a bow, keeping the scythe up right to balance the skull.

Eftemie
"He still should have waited." Valkon grumbled, but then watched Chronos thoughtfully. "The only thing I could use is some help sorting and finding the right bones for my skeletons. I'm starting to get behind. I need more hands I think."

A flutter of wings was heard again, heralding the fact that the three crows were back again. This time they dropped one bone, a stalk of bright red flowers, and another gem to the tabletop. The stone was red and he grinned, pushing it towards Chronos. "Another one for you." He stared at the plant. "Loa said she was making paint with plants, didn't she?" His eyes narrowed slightly. Maybe he would give it to her and maybe not. He was still annoyed at her.

Breaking off some bits of bread, he fed all four before he sent three out again. "I guess they like bright plants too.

GunSniper
Chronos shrugged. "maybe..." He released the scythe from his grip so that it turned back into the crow's feather. The skull fell, but he held out his hand so the feather and skull would have a place to rest instead of the hard floor. With his other hand he gladly accepted the red gem. His eyes lit up and grin widened. This was another color he liked.

"I shall be sure to get your clock done as quickly as possible than. With your skull it should not be long now." He placed the gem with the other in his sash. It felt odd to be without the scythe, so he again created it using Valkon's skull. Because of this the scythe was now black with random checkered lines about the pole. Instead of three snakes on the top of the scythe there was a strangely familiar hat with a crow with three heads under it. He leaned on it and inspected the flower. He didn't comment about Loa this time. It was amusing to see Valkon's expressions when he talked about her. Did he think of her often?

"Crows are extremity intelligent. Train them right and you will be a wealthy man.."

Eftemie
Valkon blinked at the scythe this time and then laughed. "That one I like better than the rest." He shrugged. "I had wealth when I was alive. I prefer just a plain old campsite in a comfortable glade so that my animals and I are both at home."

He glanced around his room. "Except for the books and the table for my bones, I'd probably be on the roof with them. Things like this only mean something if I can use them. Otherwise, they are a waste."

"I think I need to find something with hands. Crows are fine, but they cannot do some of the things I'd have them do here. Maybe I should have them look for monkey bones or something, but then the problem becomes on how to get the creatures here."

"Could you imagine the trouble some monkeys would cause in this place?" He laughed at the thought. It would be amusing to see them go on the rampage in Loa's paints and paint her room.

GunSniper
Chronos chuckled at his words, this boy already had true wealth than. What a lucky Ghostling. Not many people could attain this with their greedy hearts. "Very wise."

"A small monkey would be most useful as a quick thief. I can see a small little primate running around with his amusing little hat on." He placed his hand to his chin as he thought about it. The image was quite hilarious.
"I'll be sure to drop you any bones I find if I am lucky enough for such a find." He grinned. Just the sight of a small monkey swinging around the estate was worth the effort.

Eftemie
Valkon laughed. "A monkey would be very interesting. I might draw something and see if the crows can find bones in an area where the monkeys live."

As he spoke, the crows returned again. This time they had yellow and blue flowers with a few orange mixed in. The third crow however had a large bone.

Valkon reached for it, holding it a moment. A slight shiver ran through him. "This is one of mine. Leg I think." Shaking his head at the flowers, he nearly sighed. "I guess I'll give these to Loa. I still want that bag she has. They will make a good trade." Gathering up the blossoms, Valkon indicated the door. "Let's go drop these off. Then I need to see if I can find Az. I want to ask some more questions about that book of hers. And see if I can get through on my own to look around without anyone knowing."

((Cinder said something about a sacrifice so we are heading to her room next. XD ))

GunSniper
(( righty-ohs. :3 <3 ))

Chronos nodded slowly as the eyed the newly found bone. Valkon had made a wise choice in having crows as followers. His tail flicked as he mentioned taking the flowers to Loa. This comment, he couldn't help but chuckle at it. Loa was crazy, but it did seem that Valkon was drawn to her... than again, she -was- a useful ally.

"I will take your skull to my room and finish your clock.... It shouldn't be long now that I have the last ingredient. "
He nodded than turned toward the door and begun to walk. "I will meet you in Loa's room when it is completed..."

Valkon picked up the rather large bouquet of flowers after Chronos left, sending the three crows out again after feeding them. He picked up a bone once more showing it to them and trying to reinforce that it was bones he needed. The smaller bird still sat on his shoulder. It seemed to like to perch there.

Then he was down the hall towards her rooms. Opening it, he peeked inside to see if she were there. "Loa, I have some flowers the crows brought back. I'll trade them to you for the black bag you had. Chronos is meeting us here also. He's bringing my watch so I can find the rest of my bones. My crows brought one today. One that is mine I mean."

He frowned slightly as he watched her closely. What was she doing? It had better not be some foul magics aimed at him again and his eyes narrowed.

GunSniper
Chronos took little time to finish up the clock promised to Valkon. Once he had the skull it was only seven minutes before the clock took its final form.

His ears perked forward as he entered the room with the usual three serpent scythe in one hand and this time Valkon's clock dangling by chain in the other. He was not quick to say a word of his arrival, in fact he said nothing as he made his way to Valkon's side.

Chronos watched Loa also interested in what task she had picked up for herself. That was the best part of these two ghostlings. They were never dull. They always seemed to have something productive to do. Surely they were among the greatest allies that one could have. Oh the poor lights... they were most unwise to send these two especially away.

Cinderfae
Loa looked up from the desk that had become her worktable, several small bags lay out in front of her. She doesn't look up until she finishes stringing crow feathers along the edge of one of the bags. After a few moments she glances up and stands pulling one of the bags over her neck with a string, "flowers?" quirking a brow curiously Loa moves forward to get a look at them, "hmm, I wonder if they happened upon anything overly useful." The variety of plants in the shadow realm was annoyingly small, she had been lucky to find an oak that could be identified as such.

After a moment of inspection Loa nodded slightly to Valkon, "very nice the colors if nothing else. I'll trade them for the bag," gesturing to the side of the desk she pointed out an old fashion black doctor's bag. "It should work for your needs."

With the bit of business done Loa looked toward Chronos and inclined her head slightly, "it seems my room has gotten busy tonight. Other then trades what business fills your time?" Her eyes flickered toward the watch with some interest, the same interest that most mechanical things got from her.

Eftemie
Valkon watched Loa a moment before nodding and moving to the bag she had indicated. He was still slightly annoyed with her, but for now he was more interested in what he had gained. Opening it up, he inspected it. "It will work nicely, Loa. Thank you." He rather liked the feel of it in his hand. It fit well. "I'm sure they will bring more things, but so far just bones, flowers, and a gem or two which I gave to Chronos for his watches."

Valkon shrugged. "I'll go back and send the crows out again for stuffs. For now I'm letting them bring back whatever they want. But I planned to go looking for Az after I try to see if I can get across with the crows on my own. If I can't, then I was going to see if he could boost me a bit so that I can. There are things here we need and I could direct the crows more on what to take as well as get other bones. Either of you have any ideas? I'm sure there are things Az needs from all of us though he's not said much."

GunSniper
Chronos yawned and looked over the bags one more time. His tail and ears twitched as Loa inquired about his presence.
"I was told that there was to be a meeting here... if not than it is simply amusing to be in your presence." He chuckled and leaned slightly on his scythe.

"Also, I came to deliver Valkon's clock... and if you have anything yet to use in your own I could complete your clock as well." He shrugged with a grin and held the raven watch out to Valkon. She didn't seem to have been as in need of finding her remains as Valkon did. This conclusion was only because he had not heard Loa talk about her bones as often.

Cinderfae
Loa considered a moment, "I believe you would need to ask the Beast God himself. I myself would ask something of them however, if they could pick clippings from oak and rowan trees it would be most useful. Although there is some plant life here the twisted things that pass as trees; are lacking the properties that I need." Fresh samples of oak and rowan especially could help her create protections against magic on a variety of levels.

Once Valkon had taken the bag and seemed pleased with it Loa took one of the red flowers moving back to the large desk in the room. Tearing the flower apart she opened the small bag from around her neck and dropped two petals into it. Glancing over the other bags laid out she then repeated the process, "I have something here you two may find useful."

"Always glad to be amusing," her lip twitched slightly glancing to Chronos, "as for my remains...I may have to take you up on that." She frowned inwardly the bones had fallen to the back of her mind. The thought that her own remains were obscuring themselves came to mind and didn't settle well.

Eftemie
Valkon nodded, making a mental note to ask them to get the two items for Loa. If he came up with something from them then maybe there would be more things he could trade for. Maybe something to put with his bones to protect them until he got them all. "I'll see what I can do, Loa."

He turned towards Chronos and the watch. His eyes lit up. "I like the design, Chronos." He grinned widely. "It's even got a hat like mine. Very nice. Thank you. I was wondering something. Are there clockwork creatures that you can make that would be of a help to everyone? Someone to put books away or to get the ones down from the top shelf? I was thinking that maybe something like them would be useful scattered about the castle to help with things. I don't guess it would be easy."

Glancing over at the pouches she had indicated were theirs, Valkon's eyes narrowed. "What is in them? And what do they do? Not sure I trust them after what you did."

GunSniper
Chronos placed both hands on his scythe and leaned on it as soon as his hand was free of the clock. He gave a nod to Valkon than looked to Loa with his usual grin.
"Take your time, I can always give the clock another purpose if this one should not be of convince to you...." He looked over to the grandfather clock Loa had mentioned earlier. The thing had slipped his mind. "Hmn, have you also found a new place for your 'door' to let out?"

Chronos turned his attention to Valkon when the clock work beasts were mentioned. He had attempted once, but failed at such a creation. But maybe now with the beast god's powers? It was almost like bringing something to life, only there was no soul to the constructs.

"You would have to bring me a full specimen... live or dead, it must still have everything it needs to live. Or else the constructs will not move as they should." He shrugged and chuckled. "A live one preferably for the first construct...."

Cinderfae
Peeking over as Chronos gave Valkon the clock she gave it a looking over, being a magical instrument it didn't amuse her as much as it's mechanical counterparts. It was interesting nonetheless, she was sure that Valkon would put it to good use for his bone pieces she suspected his memories of life would return more and more as he found more of himself, something she hadn't shared with him after all he did seem squeamish about his own knowledge.

As Valkon asked about the pouches Loa picked up one with each hand, "these are gris-gris, I don't expect you would be familiar but they should be useful to you. They offer protection to the wearer, they should offer some defense against the magic of others against you. You'll need to add a drop of blood to the pouch so it'll be attuned to you; decorating the pouch to your liking is also suggested. The more attention you give to the magics of the world this one or the other the more potent they will be." Sliding down beside the desk she opened a drawer and took a box from it, "I also have something else," opening the box she tilted the container so the two could see what was inside.

Lined on aged gray velvet were a variety of carved scarabs, each only slightly bigger then an actual beetle. Their colors went from vibrant pinks to stained coppers as if each had been made out of a variety of materials. "These are in case you are taken prisoner by the light side," picking one up she flipped it over to show them a small rune made on the bottom of the scarab. "That is my rune, these are made so I can scry on them specifically. If your taken prisoner I'll be able to find you, it might also benefit us to attempt to plant one on one of the ghostlings opposing us."

Loa's curiousity and interest was peaked as the two spoke of clockwork creatures, "I'd be interested in the clockwork beings as well might even be able to help you get them running more smoothly. Seems I have an affinity for such things..." looking toward the grandfather clock she nodded slightly to Chronos, "I want to seal it over a current doorway and have it made into the doorway but set up so only I can pass through it."

Eftemie
Valkon listened carefully as Chronos spoke. "Something dead, but not live animals unless there is a very good reason. There are other things for them to do." His voice was adamant on the subject. It was not that he was squeamish. He was not. But he did not want to injure those he was sure he could use another way. A dead one had no use for him and it could work very well as a construct.

"Gris-gris." Valkon repeated the word as if tasting what he had said. "Hmmm... It's not going to act like that thing you painted on my floor, is it? I can do the rest so long as it's not going to zap me." His eyes narrowed suspiciously. But then as she explained about the scarabs, he reached out to touch one thoughtfully. "I might could use the crows to do that once they are trained a bit better. They could drop them at random somewhere on a lighter. Then you'd just have to try and see what you get. But..." he thought for a moment. "I might be able to get them to do something like that especially if I could end up going with them. And I can keep one in my pocket so that if I get caught I can drop it somewhere nearby."

"And I'll have the crows start looking for dead things. Anything in particular that you think will work better than others for your constructs, Chronos? If it's very big, I might have to see about finding bigger birds to help."

GunSniper
Valkon was so compassionate toward animals. And that was respectable. Though a live subject would have been better so the mechanics would be perfect... but Chronos said no more on the thought of Live subjects. It would not bother him either way. "As you wish than. Just be sure nothing is missing from it."

He looked over the scarabs that Loa had. Gris-Gris? He had never heard such a term. But the little bags and bugs were a fun sight to behold. In fact his tail twitched a bit as he looked at the amusing little objects that she had created. When she mentioned he door and how she could help with the constructs he looked from the gris-gris to her. "That should be an easy task, a door only you can pass through..." He paused than grinned. Maybe it wasn't the power of Az he needed to complete a construct... Loa might be able to do that part if he could succeed in creating them. His ears twitched. "Hm, If I bring you the form than maybe you should be successful at bring 'life' into them... if you could call it that." He than side glanced to Valkon." And Valkon, you would be more successful in controlling them because of your connection with beasts. Though it would be clockwork its essence would still be that of an animal. I would think. "

Cinderfae
With a slight smirk Loa answered Valkon's question, "no it won't -zap- you, after all having it do the same thing as the circle in your room would be an unneeded exercise as the circle already did it's job. They merely offer extra protection against attack; if you are too paranoid to wear one it is your choice to put yourself in more danger." She shrugged slightly before looking toward Chronos with a quirked brow.

"It sounds as if you are attempting to put more into these clockwork so they are 'more' then mere machines. I could perhaps attempt to bind magical essence to them, almost like giving them consciousness, though they never will have real life. It would be interesting if Valkon could command one; though depending on what is created we could also create them to follow the commands of someone specific." Frowning slightly she considered a moment, the talk had taken a direction she hadn't intended. She had assumed the creatures would be mindless but it seemed that Chronos was more ambitious then that. "I will help nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what comes from this."

Eftemie
Valkon nodded, gingerly taking the bag. He would work on it later when he got back to his room. There were a few things he could attach to it. He still had some of the striped fabric left yet. Maybe some tied to it to mark it as his own.

"I'll see about getting you a dead animal or two then. " He was glad that Chronos had accepted the alternative of a dead animal. " And I'll send the crows out for the cuttings you need, Loa." Oak and rowan. Strangely he remembered something about those particular plants, but it slipped to the side. Maybe he'd remember by the time he was to his room.

"Thank you for the watch, Chronos. I'm going to start looking for my bones as soon as I can. But I was thinking about what to do with them. Maybe I should grind them up after I get them all, then find a way to scatter them in the other world? Then she couldn't kick me out again. What do you think?"

GunSniper
(( Sorry for the late post... D:, ))

"Hm, you could possibly grind them up and make a pendant from them... place them all in the watch with your skull." He grinned. "That way you are all together again." Chronos thought of his own remains and the watch they were placed in. He placed his pointer finger on his chin and tapped slowly as he thought. "However, that would change the purpose of your watch to something I could not even tell you what."
With a shrug he placed the hand back on the scythe and looked at Valkon. "But that wouldn't be so bad..."

He than shifted his attention back to Loa.
"No, they would not have a life. No soul, no life... They would be no more than soulless slaves to the one who can control them." Chronos paused in thought. "or soulless wild beasts if they cannot be controlled...."

Cinderfae
Loa considered a moment, she didn't know if Valkon's influence would extend to the mechanical creatures; like her own did. "With the right runes I believe I could make a commanding amulet that would allow the wearer to command the creatures." Frowning in thought Loa continued, "I'd need redwood and tiger's eye, the tiger's eye is known for being able to bind two points together." Loa smiled faintly it was often used by lovers for that reason and it seemed almost humorous to now use it for creatures that would most likely bring destruction.

Loa's eyes shifted toward a jar of dirt sitting on her window ledge, bones...and dirt. Shaking her head slightly she pushed away the uneasy feeling that had come over her when thinking of her own grave. "And if they are mechanical, I can control them. Lets start with one at a time however, I have never attempted to control more then one piece of mechanics at a time...and we don't want to end up harming ourselves." Loa glanced to the other two, "I've also never attempted to control something from a distance, but I believe with your help it'll be possible."

((ready to wrap this up whenever you two are...no rush just a note that I don't have anything to really add right now xD ))

Eftemie
Valkon thought for a moment, a faint smile slipping across his face. "I'll get a body and then we can try it. Something small first. If it works for that then it should work for others. And I'll try controlling them and see what happens. But right now, I'm headed back to my room. I've got things to do. I'll add those things to the list, Loa. Tigerseye, redwood, rowan and oak." Then tucking his watch into a pocket, Valkon was out the door and down the hallway.

((Yup, I'm done here for now. We need to do some plotting on this althought I think we got sidetracked from our original plague idea lol ))

GunSniper
Chronos made his way to the door, inspecting it a little as he drew near. It shouldn't be to hard to put a portal up... and make it so that only Loa can enter. That was the possibly tricky part. Than there was the constructs.. yes, it would seem now that he had more to be doing. There was nothing wrong with that.

"I will deliver the constructs to you once they are perfected... your watch as well." Before he was out of the door he gave the grandfather clock a second look. "And you could expect that by next morning."

With that said Chronos was also out of the door and down the hall toward his chambers. There was much work to be done.

(( Yup, done here... XD Maybe combine the plague and construct ideas somehow? ))

After talking to Loa and Chronos, Valkon had ideas whirling through his head. Clockworks working around the castle would be good. If he could control enough of them to put them at simple task and even if they could remember minor duties to repeat would help them all and reduce the personal workloads of everyone. He nearly cackled maniacally at the though thought of a small army of constructs that obeyed him., but then he arrived at his room and looking at the bones brought him back down to earth. He was here for other reasons and his eyes narrowed.

The flutter of wings caused a distraction that led him away from darker plottings and Valkon smiled to see all four crows returning. He'd not even sent them out and yet they had. Feeding and petting each one, he praised them for the things they had returned with. Four birds returned with 9 bones and 3 red flowers. Pulling two books from the shelf, he glanced over them. Both were for plants and he quickly found images of Rowan and Oak. Shifting to his own crow shape, he tried to explain to them that he needed some specifics this time. He stress that it must come from the living world. Not the dark.

All four crows stared at him in confusion for a moment. But after studying the images that seemed important to him, they understood he wanted this. Finally they took to the air as Valkon shifted back. He would have to find pictures of tigerseye and redwood also so they could find that too. Fro now he turned to the small pile of bones he needed to sort.

Clipper flew through the barrier barely noticing a difference as they returned to the always dark cemetery. It was the opening though they knew little of crossing from one place to another. Moving through the branches, they searched the woods for things Valkon needed. The smalllest of the birds simply followed the others trying to be of use to them. The master accepted him so they too did, Knack somewhat watching out for the smaller avian.

Spying a set of white gleaming bones below, he cawed into the air alerting the others. All four landed and as they were poking about, Clipper noticed the nearby bush. It looked familiar and what they had been shown. Moving over he hopped up to a thicker branch. Cawing again to them, he indicated that this might be what their master wanted. Feyne ruffled his feathers negatively, and looked for what he wanted to carry.

Clipper once again insisted, but Feyne ignored him. In the end the smaller bird quieted, but Knick was paying attention while Knack pulled down a branch breaking it off. He ate the bug on it then picked it up in his beak. Clipper received a glance that said to get some. Somewhat mollified, the smaller crow gathered some to carry.

A short time later all four birds returned to the room dropping their bounty as before. Valkon who had finished sorting the bones, glanced over at them and smiled. Rewarding them, he began to look at the items they had returned with.

"Well, it looks like you got the rowan, boys. Well done." He patted Knack and Clipper giving them a few pieces of bread extra. Then he showed them the pictures again, this time including the tigerseye and redwood.

Six more trips were made by the four avians. But on the last rip they flew into the room followed by a larger bird. A raven. She carried the corpse of a medium sized snake. Having noticed what the crows were doing, she decided it would be polite to join in and had snapped the back of the serpent killing it to bring back rather than eat it.

For a long moment he studied her, folding his arms across his chest. Simply staring Valkon finally said, "So what are we going to call you?" A story came to mined of a raven tapping on a window. It was a tale his father had told him He suddenly smiled. "I know. Lenore. That was the name in the story." Reaching out he patted the bird's head, feeding her some bread. Chronos had a corpse now but whether he could make anything was unsure. What would a snake be like as one of the clockworks? Feeding the rest of them, he sent them out again, Lenore specifically he asked for more corpses or larger bones.

Valkon sorted while they were gone, but in the end he had gathered 57 bones, 2 orange and 1 purple flowers, 3 more rowan, 3 redwood, 4 oak branches one with an acorn, and 2 medium sized pieces of tigerseye. All in all it had been a nice day. He was tired, but with so many bones ready, Valkon decided to continue working while the birds rested simply watching what he was doing. Suddenly the yokai stepped back, staring in surprise. He had another full skeleton.

"A rat." he whispered as a sudden energy filled him and he trembled faintly. His body was changing before he knew it and he began to shrink. A long thin hairless tail appeared as he continued getting smaller, but soon he was sitting in the middle of the table staring at his hands and feet. His whiskers twitched and he tried to get a good look at them. Standing up on his hind feet, he squeaked into the air. A rat could be useful getting into places he had been unable to get into before. He might enjoy this shape.

Shifting back out, he began to pack up the things he had for Loa and Chronos. He would have to get these things to them soon. The corpse would deteriorate at some point and Chronos had said intact.

By the time he returned to his room, the crows were once more waiting on Valkon. All threee carried bones this time and he added them to the pile that needed sorted by size and identified. Just because the bones were the same shape did not mean they were the same animal. Size played an important part. Afterall, a wolf's femur would be a larger size than a rat's though the bone would be shaped similarly. But his bones were the ones on his thoughts. He needed a way to prevent them being tossed out again if he reburied them. Perhaps burial was not the thing to do. Maybe he would have to figure out another option. Get Chronos opinion on them since he had said he did not care about his own. He might have a good suggestion, but that would wait until later.

Right now he needed to send the crows back out for more. Sitting down, Valkon looked for a place to put the bones he had. He only had a few to begin but they would bring him more and he briefly watched them fly out the window again. The book he flipped open to the page that showed an image of each bone's shape clearly. Then the second book he flpped open to the section that had the images of the animal skeletons for placement. It did not take him long to identify the two smallest bones. They were very tiny ribs and seemed to belong to the rat. Placing them where he thought they should be, Valkon studied them for a moment. When satisfied that they were a rat's ribs, he turned his attention to the next bone.

The femur was a bit more difficult to identify. It was far too large to be a rat's, but still too large to be a cat's. Placing it near the wolf skull, he wondered for a moment if that was what it was. It was certainly big enough to be such, but he still was unsure it was a part of the wolf without finding more pieces. Finally he just placed it beside it, sort of holding the space until he was certain. This was like putting together three or four puzzles at a time and the pieces all looking the same except for size.

The next three bones were snake. He was certain of that as their shape, size, and the bit of vertebrae still attached made him sure that they were the bones of a reptile. But the flutter of wings distracted him as he put them into place. Valkon glanced up to see the three birds swooping down to land on the open end of the table next to him. The first bird carried two bones, one in each claw. He dropped them to the table, then moved to the side. The second bird had a bone in one foot and a blue flower clutched in the other. But the third bird, Valkon had to laugh at. Not only did he have a bone in each claw, he had a green gem held firmly in his beak.

"Well, don't you have a knack for finding things?" Valkon smirked, then laughed again. "Knack. I think that will be a very good name for you. And... you can be Knick." he said to the first crow before turning his attention to the second. "You can be Feyne. You feigned, but still managed to get one bone and one flower. And you.." He turned towards the smallest crow that had been remaining with him most of the time. "you can be Clipper. If you stay with me and don't fly, then it's like your wings are clipped. Yes. I like it. Those names fit you all. Knick, Knack, Feyne, and Clipper."

Feeding them all extra this time, he sent them back out. They would be his delivery service and the thought amused him as he continued to sort the bones they had brought him. The flower he pushed to the side. He'd trade with Loa again for something when he got more of them. Maybe small pouches that the birds could drop their bones into if they were small enough. That left their feet free to carry the bigger items. He'd get more from them that way and be able to work more quickly on getting them placed.

After a short time, the crows slipped out but this time Clipper went with them. Valkon laughed shaking his head. "Maybe he didn't like the name." But as he went about identifying the five bones he had received from them, Valkon rubbed his eyes. He was getting tired, but finished what he was doing. One bone was rat, one was wolf, two were snake, and the final one he thought to be a feline of some sort. A housecat most likely.

Finished, he sighed, moving towards his bed. He needed some rest. It didn't take the ghostling long to fall asleep and he curled up, his tails about him for warmth. Not that he would have noticed the cold anyhow. But as he lay sleeping, the crows returned. All four stared at him expectantly but when he did not move, they flew into the other room, dropping the items they had. All four glanced over at the bread that Valkon had been feeding them from. But instead, and almost with a shrug, Knack, flew out the window again. The other three crows followed him. Several times they gathered and returned, each time to find Valkon still asleep. Each time they dropped their booty and flew out. Then after the seventh trip they simply spread out, taking time to rest for themselves.

Clipper moved to perch on the bed post, a silent sentinel guarding his master. Knick and Knack were perched on separate bookshelves guarding their loot. And Feyne settled on top of the wardrobe to the side and out of the way.

With a sleepy yawn, Valkon woke, stretching his arms nearly two hours later. He felt much more rested now and glanced up to see Clipper on the post asleep. The crow opened one eye at the movement, but then tiredly closed it. Feyne moved slightly hearing the movement but curled his head under his wing.

"Hmm... so you are all back. Must be tired. Sleep will do you good." He smiled as he moved off the bed and towards the other room. But then he stopped in the doorway, his jaw dropping down as he stared in surprise at the table. Then he closed his jaw tight, blinking as if he could not believe his eyes. "How many times did you guys go out while I was asleep?" Moving towards the end of the table, he began to count the pile of gems. With the green one of before there were now two more green, three blue, two red, and one yellow stones. With the one blue flower were eleven more blue, seven red, three orange, and two purple. That should definitely be worth a few cloth bags for the crows to use.

But the pile that surprised him the most was the bones. They had brought him thirty two bones and piled them up. All shapes and sizes that would keep him busy for awhile. Valkon's eyes gleamed brightly. "This is going to work out better than I thought." He laughed as he began to sort them by size and shape. They had definitely exceeded his expectations though he had no doubts at some point it would get harder for them to find the bones he needed and they would have to range farther and farther away. That could make it slower later to get the ones he needed.

With a grin he began placing the bones where they went a few at a time. Some went to the rat, others to the snake. Fewer were added to the wolf but some were placed there. It took him several hours to get the pile they had left for him down halfway, but they were awake once more and after feeding them, Valkon sent them out again. Clipper opted to remain with him this time and the ghostling spoke to him as he worked. The crow listened to every word as if he understood watching the way Valkon was doing things and how he was sorting. At first it made no sense to the bird, but as he continued to study Valkon's actions, the avian began to see a pattern. A curious one, but it seemed to please his master and he continued to watch intently.

When he finally stepped back, having finished putting the last of the thirty two into place, he grinned. He had placed another sixteen bones with the rat skeleton, four with the wolf, and twelve with the serpent. It was a good start, but no sooner had he thought that than the crows returned bringing him more. He laughed. Knack had blue and yellow blossoms hanging from his beak and held two bones in his feet. Knick carried the same, but Feyne had a yellow gem in his beak and some sort of ornament in his feet. He was flying very low as if it were heavy. Taking it from him Valkon laughed as they deposited their loot on the table next to him.

"Competition, boys?" he grinned. "I approve." Inspecting the ornament, he rubbed the dust from it with his fingertips. A silver cross with several facets gems of various colors were set into it. He was not entirely certain what it was for, but the vague memory of something to do with a church or temple came to mind. "Not bad, but not sure what I'd use it for. Chronos might could use the metal and jewels for something of his. I wonder if he could make clockwork creatures from this. They would be a help to all of us around here if he could." He laughed. "It's a thought. Clockwork crows could carry more." His voice was teasing as he watched them. All four began to squawk in irritation. As if some mechanical thing would be better than they were and it was with some indignation they stared at him.

Valkon broke into laughter, petting all four equally. "Don't worry. I'd not get rid of you boys. We are friends." Turning back after feeding them, he smiled. It had been a good day. All in all, he had gained 41 bones, 10 gems, 28 flowers, and a jeweled cross. He might actually accomplish some of his goals quicker than he had thought with their help. Yes, this had been a very good idea.

Now to look for either Az or Kita. He had reasons to talk to them, but both were very different. The crows would simply keep working unsupervised and bring him more things. Valkon walked from the door of his room turning to stare both directions. Either Az or Kita, but which one?

Kita Etheria Bloodmyth

Her ears flexed at the sound of his tearing flesh and it made her sick. She knew the power she had, and what it could do to him but when he broke free with the sounds the hooks made as they were pulled free her face paled. Wincing her claws tore into the wall to brace herself from the impact as he slammed her into it, her cheek pressed against the cold stone firmly and her tail lashed hard against his outer ribs.

'You TRICKED me! It was all a LIE!' she continued to cry out, her claws digging so hard into the wall now they started to bleed. 'You were killing my world! You were killing them all!!! And now you trick them to FOLLOW you?!?!' she hissed. 'You have tainted them!'

Making a sharp noise at the feel of his fangs tearing into her flesh, tears started to run down her cheeks in the pain. 'I will never be yours again...'

Azmodeus Bloodmyth
He didn't even feel her tail as it hit the bone of his outer ribs, the sound of her tail lashing against them echoing through the hall as his thick black fur bristled. A beastial laugh escaped him at her efforts to get free, and even more so to her words. with a small motion of his tail, his own dark hooks rose from the walls and ground, impaling her straight through her palms and shoulder's, three tearing at her tail as he lapped the blood at her wounds as the hooks rose her arms above her head.

"I'm flattered thogh..you've taken to my hooks so well.."
he hissed, his face so deadly close to her's as his paper thin slitted eyes glared into her own.

"...not all of it was a lie...I did love you.."
he growled, lips barely touching her's as he chuckled darkly once again,

"...and they were already tainted..I just helped them realize their own potential...and they had no choice..it was either follow me..or truly die...and you know.."
he paused, moving to her ear, licking the shell lightly,

"...I'm still going to kill your realm..I will kill whoever stands in my way..and I only hope for your own sake you don't get in it...because I wil kill you too.."

Eftemie
Valkon had planned to look for both Kita and Azmodeus, but separately to ask his questions. It was not always good to let the left hand know what the right hand was doing. When he found them together, fighting, he watched for a moment from the doorway, then turned to walk away. Az did not look as if he were going to kill her, though he knew the temptation was there. It had been in him when he first met her, but now, he was unsure what he wanted.

The memories of who he once was bothered him. The things he had loved then were lighter stuffs. Although he supposed that the dark did love the light to some extent even as it tried to extinquish it. Maybe Az was simply showing his interest in her again the only way he could. His own position was a hard place to be in and would require more thought. Although a rather painful way to show interest for both she and Az. Either way, he did not trust her, but she would most likely need some bandages. So he went to find some clean cloth if there was any instead of remaining to see the rest. It would not do for her to die before his questions were answered.

And once Az was gone, he'd be able to ask them freely. But whether she would answer was another matter. After that he would find Az and ask him a little more about the crows. If they could cross, then he should be able to in crow shape. They needed things here and stealing them from the world was the best way. And once he knew the path, then perhaps even his other shapes when he gained them. And they needed to spy on the lighters also. Even though they had her, he still had the feeling that her book was important.

After seeing Az and Kita, Valkon returned to his room. She would need some bandages and so too would his Lord Az. He rummaged around in the closet finding some white cloth that he soon ripped into strips. Maybe they would be needed. Maybe not. Either way it gave him the excuse to return to talk to her and Az.

His birds had returned again, but he stared at the things they had left for him. Some were quite large and he suspected that Lenore had brought them. He usually only had one item but it was something the others could not carry. This time there were three corpses- an owl, a cat, and a dog. They were fully intact except a bit bedraggled around the throat as if they had been throttled. All Valkon cared was that Chronos would be able to use them.

Sighing he began to sort the bones again. For a moment he calculated. They must have made 7 trips. The larges bones included two new skulls. He would identify them later, but could already see that one was rather a small humanoid type. The other was feline and of some size and weight. Unusual was the word he would have used to describe them.

Counting what they had, Valkon had acquired another 21 bones, 1 rowan cutting, 1 oak branch, 1 redwood, 1 tigerseye, 1 piece of jade... that was new... 2 unidentified plants, 1 blue glass cup, and an iron bell in addition to the 2 skulls and 3 corpses. Some he shoved to the side and others he pushed into separate piles. Loa and Chronos both had a pile that he had already planned to drop off. Now he would have to figure out a way to take larger things around. Perhaps if he could find a small wagon or cart to tug along with the things in them. He'd think on it.

"Maybe I should start a delivery service." He smirked. "And start charging for it." He'd think on it.

Finding two old boxes nearby, he put the things that Loa wanted into one, and the corpses that Chronos wanted in the other. All he would have to do is just drop them off.

"Wait here, guys." Valkon stated, then quickly amended when Lenore stared at him, "And girl. I'll be right back. Then I need some other things."

It barely took Valkon a few moments to drop off the items, but since neither Loa nor Chronos were around, he simply left them messages with the boxes. They'd understand.

After sending the crows out again, Valkon focused shifting to his rodent shape. Moving around the room, it was interesting to see such a different angle of things. The whiskers on his nose bothered him a bit, but he was sure they were there for a reason. He tried to poke his head through the first hole he found but his back portion would not fit. Backing up, he frowned a bit. That's when he realized that his whiskers must be about as wide as his back legs. Well, now that he understood their purpose, he'd have to pay attention. He did not want to get stuck and be unable to get free.

Continuing around the room, Valkon found a second hole. It was much larger and he had no problems getting through the opening. He found himself in a narrow space between the walls. The path led both north and south but he was unsure which direction to go. Closing his eyes he thought about how the castle was situated and his room. North led to the outside while south would lead him deeper inside. South it was and he quickly scurried over bits of rubble scattered here and there looking for other openings.

At one point he found himself at a dead end. But then he noticed the small hole to the right in the corner. Cracks splintered away from it but he knew he'd not fit through. Finally he began to dig slightly at the one side, crumbling it away. It took him a few minutes but he finally found it large enough to slip through.

The room he came out in was cobwebby and cluttered. Unsure where he was, he glanced around, unshifting as he did so. It looked to be a drawing room of some sort. Valkon frowned wondering how he knew that. Then he understood that it was because he had been in them before. At his family home. Frowning he moved quickly around the room when suddenly his watch seemed to react to something Pulling it out, the ghostling watched it a moment. Then he moved to the right. In the corner lay a small grouping of bones. The timepiece was definitely reacting to them. Picking them up, he tucked them into pockets as all were small. There might be things here he could use later. Or even Chronos.

A full skeleton of a man lay in the corner nearby. It was as if he died there in the spot but what caught Valkon's notice was the key he clutched. Reaching over, he pulled it from the fellow's fingers studying it a moment. He'd have left then, but something in the corner caught his attention. It was a broken wagon of some sort. Small as if a child's toy. But as he looked it over, he realized that if he fixed it, he'd have a serviceable way to move things a bit more easily. Two wheels were broken and an axle was missing. All he had to do was find replacements for them.

Grinning to himself, Valkon moved towards the door, first turning the handle to see if it would open. It did not, but was locked. Looking at the key in his hand, he shoved it into the lock and turned it. A faint click echoed into the room around him and he tried the door again, this time it opened for him. With a laugh, he stepped outside, turning to lock the door back. The cart would wait and since he had the key, noone else would find it. At least for now.

Looking around himself, Valkon realized that it was the very last room on the floor. A small corner that was barely noticeable. Moving back to his room, he opened the door to find that the crows had left things for him and then flown out again. His own bones though, he placed elsewhere. He might take Chronos up on his suggestion to put his bones all within the clock and to keep them with him. But then he also thought about grinding them up to dust and then taking them back to scatter in the other world. He'd never be kicked out again that way. Never.

At least he hoped not.

He did not sort the things left by his friendly crows immediately. Instead, he left his room, heading out into the courtyard. He had noted a small crack in on of the stones used in the foundation. Unsure where it led, Valkon changed shaped and slipped through it. He found himself in a section that ran under the floor of the main portion of castle. It was large and wide open except for a few supports that blocked his way from time to time. Slowly he began to explore the area a bit at a time as his eyes adjusted to the darkness.

When the ground angled downwards, he stopped for a moment before moving onward. Listening he heard the faint indications of scratching and scurrying ahead of him. For a moment he hesitated, but then he slowly began moving deeper and deeper until he found himself inside a small cavern area beneath the castle. It was mostly dark there, but then his eyes caught sight of a torch nearby.

Valkon blinked in surprise. "Why would there be a torch here? Can people get down here? Hmm... maybe another path." He was unable to see exactly what was there until he got light.

Glancing over he noted several eyes watching him closely. Finally one of them stepped forwards as if to try to figure out who he was. A rat moved towards him as another revealed himself. They squeaked amongst themselves for a few moments, then hesitantly moved towards Valkon. Whiskers touching his, they both looked him over for a moment.

As best he could Valkon asked them where this place led to. For a few moments they did not understand him. But after a series of simple explanations, Valkon managed to get across to them what he meant.

They turned leading him past the rest of the rats, assuming he was lost. On the other side of the small cavern they led past the small pool of water that had accumulated from the dripping. Up the side of the slanting rocks and further up the slope ahead of them, the two rats led him to a small staircase. At this point, Valkon stared in surprise. The passage looked as if it had never been used. Dirt, crumbling rocks, and cobwebs were everywhere covering the entire tunnel. Noone had been down here in some time.

Thanking them, Valkon scurried upwards along the slanted edgeing beside the steps. He was not about to climb the steps in ratform. It would be too difficult but the edging was just wide enough that he could easily run upwards. When it leveled out, he found himself at a deadend. Rocks had caved in closing off the entire tunnel. He looked around for a way to get through but then noticed a hole to the left. It was barely the width of his whiskers but he made it through by wiggling himself from side to side.

Both rats watched him closely trying to figure out his actions. He acted like no rat they knew but that was precisely what drew them to him. Finally they inspected the hole and squeezed their way out also.

Valkon shifted to himself finding himself one a small landing. The steps leading upwards to a few doors and then one or two downwards. For an instant he looked confused but then laughed. He was just below his own room. Moving towards the secret panel, he opened it, but then turned to the side. There was a grouping of bones lying there and his watch was reacting again. With a grin, he picked them up, then moved towards the opening again.

The two rats followed behind him slipping into the room as Valkon closed the opening. They scurried around checking out the things he had in his room in curiosity. He noticed them and laughed. "So you are joining me, huh? I guess that means you need names, boys. Let's see... You look like Frick and Frack. That sounds good. Just don't touch the bones you find here. Or chew my books. Anything else is fair game."

Frick was a nearly black rat. There was a bit of grey on his belly but otherwise he was totally dark. Frack on the other hand was a brownish color, one front paw entirely white. For rats they were very handsome. The two rats continued looking around until they had figured it all out. Valkon fed them some crumbs noting that the crows had returned again. Several times. They were sleepily eyeing the rats. He patted each one, feeding each small bits of bread.

Then he moved towards the things they had left for him. Counting the items, he realized they had made about 11 trips. He had 37 bones, 3 red, 2 yellow, 1 purple, and 1 orange flowers, a cane with a silver eagle head, 1 jade, 1 tigerseye, 2 onyx, a metal bar, and a small pouch of coins. He wondered who Lenore had stolen that from. He'd get some use out of it even though the money meant nothing to him. The silver there could make something. A gear or other that they could use in the constructs. He'd let them rest awhile and then send them out for more things. Lenore would specifically go after corpses for them to use.

It had not taken him long to find the linen closet and pull out some of the fine white fabrics that had once been used for tables. He figured it would tear pretty easily once he had a small cut started and he was right. The fabric would tear the length of the tablecloth and in a decently straight line he noticed. After some time of tearing strips, he began to roll each one up. He really had nothing to put on them, but the bandages would at least keep the blood from getting on everything and keep dirt from the wounds.

Valkon sighed, pausing to wonder how he knew that. Then he remembered. The image of his father and mother treating some soldier guards that had been injured by a bandit attack slipped down over him. He sighed again. They'd have taken care of him the same way if he'd stayed alive. The fox would have too. He would have insisted.

Looking at the stack of bandages, he made sure his bag was clean and empty then began putting them inside. When it was full, he closed it up and moved towards the doorway, Clipper settling onto his shoulder. The rest simply watched then took off out of the room again. They had more things to do and had already dropped off a number of items.

Valkon glanced at the pile for a moment, hesitantly. Then he stared at the bag in his hand. He'd better go back to Az and Kita. He needed to make sure Az did not kill her yet. There was still much he wanted to know. With that thought in mind, Valkon left the room heading back to where the two struggled. Little was going to come out of this situation unless they all began pulling together. Whether for Az or Kita. Perhaps... Perhaps they were both the enemy and it was not all one sided as he had thought before.

Kita Etheria Bloodmyth
It took all she could to not respond to the pain that shot through her body. Her blood poured easily down from her wounds and she hissed as he drew close. She was completely disgusted by him and her smaller fangs bared again as she tried to look away, ear moving to dodge his tongue though her cheeks flushed again darkly.

"Hn... all you speak are broken truths and promises, my love. Just like you always have...' she started to become intangible and slip free from the hooks, even if they had weakened her significantly. 'I wont let you kill anymore...'

Eftemie
On the way back to the room, the ghostling had decided to simply wait on his information from her and watch what happened between the two of them. Maybe there would be something that would give him a clue what to do. He had no doubts that Az had protected him and that he owed him much already. But he did not think that killing her would be in his Lord's best interests. At least it was a gut feeling he had deep inside, but whether it was entirely for Az's benefit or his own, Valkon could not tell.

But when he returned to the doorway, Valkon stopped just outside the opening. It was not his way to stand eavesdropping unless he really needed to. Az was still there and they were arguing. Still. Whatever was going on, the sparks were flying. A faint memory of his parents fighting dropped down over him and his lips twitched upwards as he remembered the way they had acted afterward. He suddenly wondered if this were merely a lover's spat gone too far and he found some amusement in that thought, though he was quite certain neither would find any humor in it.

Moving to the side, he leaned against it half hidden. He couldn't imagine either one would see him since they appeared to be so engrossed in each other, but if they did, he had come to bandage them both afterall. It would take time for him to decide what should be done or if anything should be done.

Azmodeus Bloodmyth
He had moved back to drinking what of her blood he could get, sustaining his future form for a bit longer as he smirked and chuckled low into her neck, large hand moving, gliding across her face as she spoke, her body beginning to slip away from him as she became intangible.

"Broken truths...and broken promises? I do not think so...but if that is the way you wish to believe it.."
he growled low, the hook sliding back into the darkness where they had risen out from.

"...then I'll only prove you wrong again...I will kill, keep killing for as long as I exist..."
he hissed, thick fur bristling,

"..and if you don't believe I still love you...then no more will you know it from me.."
he snarled, slamming his fist into the wall where she was intangible, breaking a hole through it before he pulled on her collar that kept them connection, the thick chain appearing as he yanked her intangible body from the wall to the ground, an electrical charge rushing through the connection to shake her back to a solid form with his bladed tail hovering just over her stomach.

"Behave while you're in my castle...you may think you're not a prisoner here with your power...but I wouldn't be so sure about that.."

Reserved for Valkon's Library After Kita/Az

After coming back from Kita and Az, Valkon sat down at his table of bones. His crows and rats were both out gathering as per usual. He had heard Az's words on destroying everything and it made him angry. That was the one thing he would not allow.

He was loyal to Az because he had protected them all. Granted there was power in followers forced or not, but there was power in it for Valkon also. The marking on his back signified such, but a part of him was still pulled by those creatures that lived.

His own crows were examples that they were useful and had their place. Would Az really destroy them if he protested such? He did not listen to Kita. Why would he listen to Valkon.

A sigh slipped free as he leaned back into the chair. This was a hard place to be in. He owed Az his loyalty, but so too did he owe the fox that had remained with him all that time as he lay dying. He owed the crows and rats who now served him. Surely there was a way to keep them alive - to let them coexist with Az and the rest of those in the dark.

This would take a great deal of thought, but he had been watching his creatures and they were changing themselves. It was small differences at the moment. A few feathers that had grown longer and their eyes becoming more red. At first he thought it was his imagination, but as he studied his bones, he began to notice things about them also. They were changing and it was because of the taint here.

Perhaps that was the solution. It would take time to figure out but for now he needed to work on the bones. He had found nearly all of his human bones, each one being ground up and put into the watch for him. The creatures would have to wait for a bit yet. But he would watch in the meantime, and if it came down to it, he would have to find a way to protect them from Az. If they ever found their way back to the world of the living.

They may never do so.

She Messed With My Clothes?

He rolled over in his sleep, tails curling around him. Having so many was nice because he was warmer and more comfortable than the blankets made him. But as he rolled over again sleepily something bothered him and he could not quite get comfortable again.

Finally yawning Valkon opened his eyes glancing around the room in amusement. The birds were still in the perches they had chosen except for Clipper. He was nestled up nest to Valkon's head. "Did you get cold or something?" he asked in amusement stroking the bird's head.

Clipper looked at him quizzically trying to figure out why Valkon was different. Shaking his head, he moved towards the top of the bedpost to watch.

Laughing Valkon got out of the bed, but then stopped when he understood his pants were too tight and much smaller than before. He suddenly growled, wondering. "Bah! I bet she messed with my clothing this time! Loa is sooo gonna pay for this. I warned her to stop doing things like this."

Moving over to the closet, he struggled to get the pants he was wearing off. They had been far too tight and had rips at the knees where they had stretched slightly. In the end that was all that allowed him to remove them. Pulling several pieces of clothing from the wardrobe, he tossed a couple back inside before he finally found a pair of pants that came to his knees. Angrily, he pulled them on, adjusting the back of them for his tails.

At first he never noticed his reflection in the mirror, but when he did, he simply stared. He looked much the same, only larger. Briefly he remembered growing. Had he grown again? Or had she cast some spell on him?

Picking up the hat, he frowned then sighed. The long coat did not fit at all, but he could not go around shirtless. Well, could not was not the proper word. He did not want to go around shirtless. He liked the one he had before and rifled through the closet until he found a similar one only larger. A few minutes of alterations and he had the colorful bits on it again. But then he noticed that he had put them on the wrong side. Oh well, it really did not matter which side they were one. He needed a change sometimes.

Slipping it on, he decided that he liked it as well as he had the one before. The hat had been too large before but now it fit a bit more properly. Watching himself a moment in the mirror he noticed that his tails were larger and fluffier, but he still had as many. The striped fabric he had liked was still usable and he looked much the same as he had only bigger. His body had changed somewhat. He seemed to be more human in appearance than before. Time would tell whether that was a good thing or not.

"Well, time to get to work, boys. And Lenore." he smirked. "Breakfast first." He pulled out the bread giving each of them a piece. Today he was going looking for his bones. He'd take them with him for protection.

Shifting to crow form after making certain he had the watch, Valkon flew out the window. The birds followed him as he moved in the direction the watch had indicated. The first bone he found he smiled when the watch indicated it was truly his. The darkness around them seemed endless and the birds remained closeby. Now and then one would leave his side, find a bone and return. Sometimes they would light up the watch and other times they would not. Either way he stuck them into his bag. It took him several hours but eventually his bag was full of not only his but others.

When he got back, he resorted those they had found. In the end he had 23 bones that were his including some fingers and toes, and another 15 animal bones. 12 of those were wolf he understood now as he shoved them into place. The other three were snake. Looking over the two skeletons he decided the wolf was nearly done. A smile crossed his face. A wolf could be interesting. Soon. Very soon.

Let The Wolves Howl

He watched them silently for a moment. The bones were really close on two skeletons. The one he was certain was a snake. He would find those sooner or later, but the wolf held the most interest for him. He counted the bones he had placed in the proper positions. In all he only needed another 30 bones to finish it off.

"Only 30 more and I have it." But how did he gain those and make them understand which ones he wanted? Shifting to crow form, he indicated the wolf skeleton before him. Then he tried to make sure they understood that was all they were to bring back to him this time. For a long moment they stared at him in confusion. But then Clipper and Knack both moved to examine the skull and a bone or two. Then after glancing at Valkon again, they turned to one another and were in the air.

Lenore, Knick, and Feyne followed close behind. The birds disappeared out the opening in the window. It did not take them long to find their way into the cemetery. But as they drifted around on the air and through the trees, they found little to nothing that they wanted.

Lenore finally picked up a bone and carried it with her. After some squawking from Knack and Clipper, she simply dropped it as she flew. It plummeted to the ground, hitting the ground and embedding itself upright. They never noticed. The rabbit it landed beside did and took off hopping away as quickly was it could.

But as they continued flying around, Feyne and Lenore picked up other things and once more a fight would break out causing them to drop the things. In frustration, both birds lagged behind and eventually disappeared. Both soon picked up what they wanted and returned to Valkon.

He frowned noting that the other three had not come back with them. But he sent them out again after gathering the 2 bones, 1 jade, and 3 orange flowers. Identifying the bones, Valkon frowned noting they were cat and not wolf. He was unhappy but at least they fit something he was working on.

Heading into the deeper woods, Knack, Knick, and Clipper continued circling around looking for something. They would have to return with nothing. None of the three liked that thought. They had never returned with nothing before. So they slowly began their flight back to Valkon.

When Clipper spotted something that sparkled, he swooped down towards it, cawing out to the others. A set of bones lay around a metal trap that was glinting in the sunlight as it began to fade. Some hunter had set the trap but then not returned to check the trap and the poor creature had died.

The little crow landed on the trap itself. Something had been caught within it and he studied the skull for a moment. Knack and Knick both landed beside him. The smaller bird was certain that it was a wolf like their master wanted. After squawking a few moments to one another, the three birds began raising a cacophony. There was no way they could carry all the bones back themselves and they began to argue amongst themselves again.

As Feyne and Lenore settled down for the night, Valkon wondered where the others were. The two avians with him had returned several more times with a total of 10 bones, 2 blue flowers, 1 purple gem, 1 yellow gem, 1 jade, and 1 oak branch with an acorn attached. But after feeding them and tying to decide what to do, Valkon frowned when they still had not returned.

Then Clipper suddenly slipped into the room, dropping a bone in front of the wolf skeleton. Right behind him was Knick and Knack. They dropped bones also with the one Clipper had. But as he would have turned, Valkon noticed something else. Several other crows began dropping bones there also. In a few moments, he had a tremendous pile of bones to sort. Each bird dropped and then flew out the window.

He glanced at the three birds who had returned. All three looked very pleased with themselves. Their noise had brought others to watch. In the end they had simply gotten the other crows to help them return with so many bones for Valkon.

"Well done, boys." Valkon laughed. "Very well done. Let's get you something to eat. You've had a hard day." He was quite certain that there was an entire skeleton there for the wolf and he was excited to put it together.

After feeding them, Valkon began immediately. It took him some time to replace the bones that were already in place with those that had been brought to him. Then he filled in the empty spaces as he went, identifying each and everyone one of them. As he put the last one into place, Valkon stepped back. It was all there. He laughed and then shivered. The wolf was all there.

For an instant he stared at it in awe, but it was as if the spirit of the creature was suddenly standing in front of him. Anger in its eyes as it stared balefully at Valkon. But then as it looked around, Valkon reached out to touch its head. It snarled, snapping at his hand, teeth flashing as it bit his hand. He flinched but did nothing other than simply hold his hand still. Their eyes met and the creature understood as the memories focused, then it released its hold on him, whining slightly as it suddenly vanished.

He stood for a long moment understanding that it had been injured in some way. A frown on his face, he shivered again as he suddenly felt a surge of anger slide through him. Fur began to cover him and his body changed. Curling up on the floor, Valkon grit his teeth. Then tiredly he began to understand. Glancing down at his paws he found black fur covering him. Padding softly to the mirror in the opposite room, he appraised himself. A black wolf with pale silvery blue eyes stared back at him. It was the image of the wolf he had just seen.

Raising his muzzle to the air, he howled. Valkon would not let the wolf down.
