*sigh*
Now everyone is complaining...
You helped to put him into the white house, and now you are pissed off at him?
Listen, we have no choice but to really trust or sign the petition. I think both-I am pro-life but I would god damn be better off with at least a sane president who si at least TRYING to change something instead of have his finger up his a**.

Who did I help put into the White House?

All presidents try to make a better world. They try to do it the way they see as being the best. Just because they're wrong doesn't mean they're not trying or they don't care.

We do have more choices than trust or sign the petition. A petition alone isn't much good. Contact senators and reps, tell them how dissatisfying this is, unless it isn't. Get out there, get political, take things into your own hands in informing people.

Of course people are going to complain. They always do. It's their right, especially when they feel like they were misled. I mean I'm tired of whining from all directions, but it's kinda the way of the world.

Even as Pro-Lifers, can we say that an organization that "provide[d] information, counseling or referrals about abortion" should be cut off from funding, even though they would have also supplied day care, and pre-natal care, birth control, young mother homes, etc, after birth?

This.

If I were president, I would have done the same thing.

As an Obama supporter (who never saw him as the son of god rolleyes ) I don't find the title insulting, just pathetic.

Haha I offically know of 2 people now who dont see him as such; I have a few democratic fans who are like O.O -WORSHIP- whenever it comes to obama.

The only people I have ever heard refer to Obama as some kind of messiah are conservatives trying to mis-characterize his popularity as blind worship, when it has more to do with people being tired of the way the repubs have run things.

Surely, I'm not the only pro-life lib here? There must be others.

There are, but the board is very... Dead. I check it pretty frequently, but I'm not sure who else does.

Anyways, I disagree. Because his popularity -is- blind worship, for many many people. I know people who were disgusted with Bush, and would talk about how he was a fascist because of policies like the PATRIOT act, and I agree.

But when Obama extends and expands the PATRIOT act, I hear nothing.

How is it not blind worship? Obama has not brought change. And it is amazing how many liberals I've seen who will not say a word against any of Obama's policies, even when they bashed Bush for the same exact policies.

Also also, I'm not a conservative. I'm a libertarian. And I do think the title of this thread is ridiculous and completely unnecessary, but that is because it attacks the person, not the issue.

Eh. I've heard it more from conservatives, but...I have heard it in all seriousness from an acquaintance who has become disappointed in the past few months and retracted that description.

There are plenty of pro-life libs in here, but it's just a bad time for a lot of people to be on Gaia.

Though! Obama has backed down on FOCA a little bit, and that makes me happy.
