Spera Wavewind
Well, the staff is hardly my favorite weapon. In the most ideal circumstances I weild a sword in my right arm and an axe in my left. My next favorite weapon is the glaive polearm, then staff.

I must admit that I am not indersted in battling magically, I ave learned that when using magic people have a tendency to become power-hungry, caring more for their own appearence than a reasonable fight. My adaption to the winds swiftness isn't something I conciously control.

a good point...however I will assure you...despite the fact that I have trained and mastered the art of manipulating the wind for my purposes...I was trained in the art of japanese Ie-Jitsu (pardon spelling, I learned to fight, not spell...) deuling before I even thought of learning about magic...so my arts remain very closely based around the sword...however, if you wish to eliminate magic entirely, then that is fine with me...

((OOC: Right... also, make things so people can tell if you're narrating, or if your character is talking))

"Hrm!" says Mekryd. "Wasn't doubting that, but..."

As the tree sways to one side, Mekryd leans over and grabes a pinecone, before clasping the trunk of his tree tightly, causing the tree to shoot up.

"Yah!" Mekryd yells as he leaps down from the tree, the branches magically moving as to not hit him. As he comes within a few feet of the unnamed woman, he throws the pinecone, and grabs onto a branch, whirling himself back onto it. The pinecone, while seemingly ineffective as a weapon, suddenly bursts into a messy net of pine needles.

"...I need to work on that..." says Mekryd as he nurses a sore arm, and watches the lackluster net.

She swipes it away with her sword, raising an eyebrow but saying nothing more.

"Hrm... not heavy enough, eh?" Mekryd smiles awkwardly and touches the tree trunk. A branch shoots out suddenly, though it misses Laiyre by inches.

"...Right, then!" Mekryd leaps to another tree, and waits there, watching his opponent.

She steps to the side, further away from the tree branch, never taking her eyes off of Mekryd. "Well...?"

"Umm... aw, screw this."

Mekryd put his hand on the leaves of the tree he was on, and they melded to his hand, forming a glove. "I bet you couldn't tell I've been making this up as I go along," said Mekryd, jokingly. He then used his gloved hand to pull a bit of poison ivy which had grown onto the tree.

"Yar!" Mekryd jumped down and slammed the ivy cutting into the ground, and the itch-causing vines began to sprout and launch themselves at Laiyre.

She promptly began hacking at them with her sword. The cleanup wasn't going to be pretty - the blade would be sticky with the plants' irritating liquid - but she'd rather have it on her sword than on her.

"Bah!" Mekryd keeps the ivy growing in his left hand while he pulls an acorn out of his pocket. "It's the fault of that blasted sword!" He forms a rough gauntlet of wood around his right forearm and begins running to Laiyre, still keeping the ivy growing.

She continues to hack away, dodging vines.

"Here we go!" Mekryd opens a hole in the viney mass as he leaps through, making a grab for the sword using his gauntleted arm.

He manages to grab it, but she doesn't want to let go, and a tug-of-war ensues.

"Sharp object... bad!" Mekryd grunts incoherently, and then. "...Let's try this..."

The vines around him slacken temporarily as Mekryd's attention is diverted. The wood around Mekryd's arm comes to life and moves before wrapping itself around the blade and the hilt, making it so that the wood could not be removed without being broken first.

She stares incredulously at the blade, and then glares at him, indignant. "My sword!"

Mekryd steps back nervously. "Hey... I can remove it magically... You could remove it without magic too... just take a hammer or blade to the part next to the hilt..."

Another glare.

"Lucky for me," she mutters, "That's not my only weapon." That being said, she pulls a dagger out of her left boot and sets to work freeing her sword.
