"Good," she replied, nodding and wiping the fish guts off of her sword first with a patch of grass and then with a cloth she pulled from her satchel. It took her a little while to get the grease from the fish to come clean, but after a few minutes of rubbing she eventually had her sword clean enough to satisfy her. Stowing the cloth back in her bag she inspected her sword one last time before finally sheathing it, "I'm ready to start whenever you are."

Her eyes strayed to his sword, wondering what kind it was and if it would handle similiar to her own. In truth she was more of a whip expert, having used the weapon currently coiled around her arm her whole life, but as they had both mentioned before a sword tended to choose its user and it had chosen her. So she figured she might as well learn how to use it more properly.

She knew the basics from her mentor, who had made her try every weapon before settling on teaching her the whip, but basics could only get one so far. Moonlight was an expert with the sword, but hers were a different kind for one. For two, Moonlight used two swords. And for three, Nek didn't feel like having the overenthusiastic Namir laugh at her everytime she was knocked down.

What better way to learn than by teaching a sparring partner? This was the way she reasoned away not wanting to continue 'socializing' with another, only for the duration of the lesson/spar, of course.

MacCloud stood up and got his sword ready. "Aye, I'm ready." He told her with a bow of his head. Of course he was as ready as he could be.

Mac had only done swordplay by himself till this day. That was nice and all, but it wasn't the same as a true partner. On top of that he had only taught himself. That made his moves his own...maybe that could be good.

This would be good for the male. Learning from someone who knew and someone on two legs. A true swordsman.

Nek stood as well, sliding her whip off her arm and setting it by her satchel so she wouldn't be tempted to use it. Then, as a second thought, she picked it back up and recoiled it on her arm; she didn't know how useful it would be to have it in case something with the spar went wrong but as she had learned during other spars it was better to be safe than sorry.

"Okti zengk," she said, unsheathing her sword again and walking to the middle of the clearing to face off against MacCloud. As per her own policy she never attacked first, especially since she didn't know what MacCloud's style was or how much experience he had. So she crouched into a fighter's position with her sword held low in front of her. Either they would face off until one lost the battle of patience, or he would attack right off the bat, probably catiously, but possibly wildly; since one's personal demeanor wasn't always one's battle demeanor.
