My friend calls me Youruichi. And I have also been called Usagi, as well as Kami, and Ray-kun... >.> I ish not a dood. I would like to be called Rei-chan. XD

Commonly, Japanese nicknames involve using normal names and adding certain characters. (or taking out, more simple with hira gana)
I'm not sure if it'll work with American names but try adding "rin," "chi," "nin," or take out several characters. You could also add "tan" for babies "chin" mostly refered to girl friend or boy friend. You could also repeat certain characters.

Sorry cut some of the post out, I don't want it to be too long. In case it annoys someone or something. ^_^;; I'm so jealous.... xD I love your name... I've been wishing my name was Rin.. It sounds so cool. As for the thread subject, I don't have a Japanese nickname. Though I suppose I could always give myself one, it doesn't seem right to me? o.O Or am I just weird that way?
