Hoku frowned and thumped his tail on the ground in agitation, "So is that all you want to do in life? Follow around those that are injured and make sure they are ok?" Hoku lay his head down on the ground and snarled in frustration, "What are we... Dragonfly I mean... supposed to DO with life?! All we do is eat, sleep, walk a bit, eat, and sleep some more... is that all we can do?! There is no goal to work for, no reason for society to better itself. We live for nothing other than to live..." Hoku smirked and spat on the ground beside him in disgust, "Isn't that ironic? Dragonfly are the most superior beings in the forest... yet we've nothing to live for... We live... just so we don't die..."

Hoku peered at Kirara and began to think, She is right... All this time I have been whining about how life is always the same.. but I never really tried to do anything to change it... Maybe if I find something I love to do... I can start practicing it and have something like... what the word... a hobby... Hoku sighed, "I'd LIKE to do something different, but... I don't know WHAT to do. Its like, there is only so much to DO in a forest. There aren't any jobs, Dragonfly don't fall into peril that often at all... what is out there that needs to be done?" Hoku smirked and lifted his head, "I don't know what to do because nothing in this forest really suits my tastes..."

Hoku sighed once more and looked away before peering back over at Kirara. He paused and then pushed himself to his paws, taking a pace or two closer to Kirara and then hesitating. A deliberating look flashed across his face as Hoku fought in his mind about what to do next. Then, with a shrug, Hoku walked up to Kirara and began to run his gentle claws through the fur of her tail, "Here... let me help... Your big paws are too clumsy for this anyways..."

Hoku frowned at Kirara's questions and continued working for a couple moments, thinking carefully about his next answer. Her carefully untangled a good pawfull of thorns and threw them off to the side before replying, "I like being a leader. I like having people look to me to fix things and think I'm powerful and strong." Hoku snarled and sighed, "But my siblings just make fun of me and want to play... the don't take me seriously... its INFURIATING!" He lashed his tail across the ground, and went back to cleaning Kirara's fur, hoping it would take his mind off the frustration.

Hoku smirked and replied, "You and me... we are on the same boat here. But... I sometimes actually TRY to be intimidating. Its as if, no one listens too me unless they see that I can hold my own." Hoku paused and stared about himself before continuing, "But it never works... being intimidating I mean. I began to start trying to be a leader just by stopping scuffles and helping fix problems. But..." Hoku sighed and looked up at Kirara, "... everyone began to think I was just being imposing... Not... not that I care what other people think...." He grumbled, angry at himself for sharing so much with this... this... STRANGER! He didn't even know her name! ... ... ... Not that he wanted to know or anything...

Hoku went on picking through Kirara's tail fur until every single bur and thorn was gone. He stared at the ground and thought long and hard about his dream, about what he wanted in life. No longer did Hoku want to just sit and laze about, and wait for his dream to come to him... no... Hoku wanted to start life anew. He wanted to start a new era, a new time, where dragonfly had more to do than just eat, wander, and sleep. "Some day.... someday they will recognize me as a great leader... a great somebody... someday..." Hoku looked up at Kirara with a renewed fire in his eyes, and a renewed flame in his soul. Someday he would become an elder, but he would gain power even before that. It will happen, Hoku just had to work for it.

Hoku held his head up tall, and puffed his chest out. He wasn't sure why, but this elders words made him feel proud, made him feel invigorated. "My name is Hokomitsuko, but my friends call me Hoku..." He bowed his head slightly and continued, "You can call me Hoku if you do so wish..." He chuckled and the paused for a moment, thinking about something she said. "Will you really tell others about me...?"

Hoku nodded curtly, replying with a sort of dignified gruffness,"Thank you ma'am. I'm glad you see it that way. I'll be sure to remember you for your kindness." He stood up and stretched out each of his limbs once more, deep in thought, while planning what he would do next. "I'm guessing my next step of action will be to start training my body, because other tend to look up to some one who is strong willed and strong bodied...." Hoku began to ponder out loud and he looked around the small creek bed they were situated at. "The Dragonfly have become too used to peace, to used to everything being easy.... we have stopped pushing to better ourselves because society and life do not require us too... it is time for that change..." He frowned and looked up at Kirara just for a moment before replied, "It has been a great fortune that I met you Kirara...."

Hoku nodded to Kirara's words and a fiery feeling of determination settled into his heart. His jaw was set in it usual stubborn line, his brows furrowed making his eyes seemingly glow with intensity. Hoku watched Kirara as she stood and stretched and decided now would be a good time to leave before he got any more caught up with the stubborn elder. He hated getting too close to any one dragonfly, it made him feel weak, and vulnerable. So with another stretch of his back, Hoku stood up and began to pad down the stream. He paused for a moment and looked over his shoulder, "Then I bid you farewell Kirara... until we meet again..."
