He flexed and chuckled lightly as the woman felt his biceps. Kana looked to her and said "Heh, yea." Kana added "My Sensei taught me well." Kana quickly looked back to Aya as he heard her say something. "Prairie dogs?" Kana said with wide eyes. "Aren't those things little pesks?" Kana questioned with a small laugh. He quickly moved to the cart, backing up Karu behind him. The auburn haired young man looked to Aya as she swiftly tossed two shuriken into the bushes towards the mongrels. He was completely oblivious to any sneak attacks from behind, all he was focused on was Aya and the enemies. Glancing back to his side of the cart Kana couldn't fine any sort of moving shadows or evidence of movement at all. "It's a good thing were here to protect ya, huh!" Kana said with a faint smile not knowing of the unknown lurking menaces around him. Kana watched as the shurikens sliced through the air with destructive elegance and it got him all wound up. He then said "Watch out they might try to counter attack!" The last thing he wanted for Aya was for her to be pounced on by some predator out of the blue.

Jonu grinned at the man who had began to speak to him, happy to meet a friendly merchant since most were quite shrewd. "Aye, the youngins back in our village are trained well! They 'ave the strongest will I've 'ver seen!" A few short moments after the man began speaking to him, the captain detected a presence lurking in the area. Before long, he could tell that it wasn't any sort of trained shinobi or bandit, so he was quite thankful at first. He eventually realized that a pack of wild animals had taken up a formation around the caravan. Jonu guessed that they were some sort of wild dog, since the strategic positions that the animals were taking were very similar to ones that wolves used against their prey. Judging by the noise that the creatures created, the shinobi figured that they were smaller than wolves, which was a relief to be sure. He figured that anything around the size of a wolf would be a little too much for the genin to handle on their own, and he would certainly have to step in and assist them, which had the possibility of dampening their confidence in the long run. For the time being, Jonu would let each of the young adults take care of their own situations. Since he could tell that Aya had already spotted the animals that were heading in her direction and had taken offensive action against them, the captain decided to give Kana a quick tip to assist him for when he would need to take action. "Relax your muscles and get yourself into a fighting stance, laddie. There is nothing to be nervous about, just remember your training!"

Jonu began to wonder why the wild dogs had decided to investigate the caravan in the first place. He figured that bandits or rogue ninja may have attacked them to loot whatever the people were trying to transport through the wilderness, but for animals to take interest in the group was much more mysterious. Surely the dogs weren't hungry or crazed enough to attempt to take on larger opponents in hopes of killing them for a meal. If there had been one person traveling alone, the small dogs may have attempted to take them down, but for them to go after a party wasn't something that was normally in their nature. For the time being, Jonu would need to force himself to forget about why the animals were attacking and focus on the fact that they were attacking in the first place. Since he didn't have any sort of throwing weapon on him like Aya did, Jonu considered using one of his long or medium range ninjutsu. However, he decided against wasting his chakra on creatures that he could easily defeat with his sword, so he began to consider alternative means of defending the caravan. The man took a deep breath and yelled out in the direction of the two dogs that were behind the group of people. He didn't call out any threats, but simply called out, hoping that his loud and booming voice would scare off the dogs, making it so he would never have to fight them directly. After all, it wasn't the wild animal's fault that they felt threatened or hungry!

The hungry pair of creatures hurriedly moved along the left side of the caravan, just behind the treeline. They were attempting to contain their eagerness and remain hidden for as long as possible before launching their coordinated assault on the source of the delicious smell that promised them a tasty meal. However, their thoughts were soon interrupted by the sound of a spinning object rapidly approaching the two of them. They were two of the younger dogs in the pack and hadn't quite built up a large amount of bravery, especially when it came to actually fighting for food rather than simply taking it from a weaker opponent. Acting on pure instinct, they immediately hunched themselves and sprung into a lunge, attempting to avoid whatever it was that was making its way towards them so quickly. They were very hungry animals, but they weren't about to take any extreme chances to achieve their goal.

Jackal #2 - Dodging Aya's 2nd Shuriken [1d20+20(Dodge)= 32(Attack Dodged!)]
On the opposite side of the caravan, one of the medium-sized jackals, having been slightly more experienced in sneaking up to its prey, had a little more luck than its younger siblings in stalking the group. It noticed two figures that were standing between it and the source of the delicious smell that had lured the pack to this area in the first place. Without taking the time to wait for the signal from the older jackals, the proud and rash dog lunged out from behind its cover, dashing towards the creature that appeared to be the slightly weaker of the two that remained in its path.

After avoiding the objects that had been hurled at them, the small dogs raised their heads and sniffed the air, making sure that they hadn't lost the scent that had lured them to the area in the first place. It didn't take them long to once again determine where their tasty objective was. The dogs saw that there were a pair of smaller creatures in the way of what they were supposed to be aiming for. These pesky beings would need to be avoided or dealt with before the pack would be able to completely explore the source of what had led them to the area in the first place. However, since the young pair of Jackals were quite energetic, they would instead try to kill the small creatures to impress their older siblings and gain a little respect in the pack, perhaps earning themselves a larger share of the meal! Without taking the time to properly hide themselves once again, the two hyper beasts frantically ran at one of the creatures that was in the direction of the wonderful scent.

Kana looked towards the back of the caravan at Jonu with a determined look upon his face and gave the pirate a small nod. 'Just remember your training!' He repeated in his head for a moment. "Right!" Kana said looking towards the fairly large lady. A calm feeling feel over the young auburn boy for a moment. It seemed as though the world around him had been drowned out by silence and turned into a foggy blur. A sharp hissing rang in his head for a moment as things became unscrambled and the world came rushing back to him. Unexpectedly a large object darted from the bushes, leaving numerous lush green leaves sailing in its wake. Kana's multicolored eyes traced the enemy from its source in the forest and things slowed again for a moment. Thinking more clearly than ever now he noticed the rapid speed the animal was traveling at. Comparing his own speed to the attacker, of which he deduced was one of the rabid dogs, Kana understood that the attack was inevitable to block.
Things became more clear as the animal ripped flesh from bone on the large woman. He stutter-stepped towards the gruesome visual but followed his elders advice and thought of the best plan of action whilst enter his fighting position. Placing his right foot slightly forwards lightly cocked to the right and his left leg back Kana understood that attack was the best plan of action at the moment. Lunging forwards with his right foot the Genin took long hard strides towards the raggedy dog. Slowing slightly after entering attack range he slightly rose his knee and used his closest foot to kick towards the ribs of the beast, hopefully knocking him off of the helpless woman. The Kun' Kumo's fists tightly balled as he located his target once again and persued it for another attack. He dropped his head and charged like an angry bull towards the mutt, raising his head with crazed eyes to swing upwards for the dogs jaw with his right arm whilst jumping to the sky for continued momentum. A primitive grunt escaped the young man as he followed through with the attack and landed much like a football player, hunched over with his right hand extended out with the palm touching the ground pointed towards the dog.

Aya's shuriken missed the dogs by a longshot. "They're fast," she whispered to herself, keeping her blue eyes focused on the creatures before the came running towards the cart. In the light, Aya could immediately tell they weren't prairie dogs. They were a creature she had never seen before. Not spending too much time on pondering about what they were, Aya had them coming towards her side. However, they did not run at her, they went for Tum. Thinking quickly, Aya used a technique to boost her speed and get her going. "Shunshin," she said quickly and in the blink of an eye she was moving towards the boy. Her body collided with his as the beasts came at him with their teeth and claws. She was quick enough to get there, but one attack had already hit before Aya could through her own body in front of the boy's. Both she and the boy rolled several times in the dirt, Aya taking several hits on her back and Tum only taking one. As they rolled, Aya stood in front of the boy, ready to release her own couter attack on these beasts!

[Forgot second roll in other post. >.> Will edit this one for attacking.]
Before running and attacking the beasts by herself, Aya noted that Kana was facing his own attack upon the right side. She was on her own to face these two jackals, but she did have a technique to make the odds more even. Looking around to spot a water source, Aya remembered spotting one near the spot the donkey had run off to, not too far back. Performing the correct hand seals, Aya activated one of her favorite water techniques, "Mizu Bunshin no jutsu!" From the waters within the deep brush, a clone of Aya emerged making as much noise as possible to cause a distraction the the beasts on her side. The clone knocked aside bushes and snapped twigs as it came towards the beasts. While it did this, Aya came forward with her attack on the one Jackal it would hopefully distract.
To come up on the Jackal she did a silent front walk over, her hands making less noise on the ground than her feet would. As her arms went out straight in front of her and her feet came following her like she were a pinwheel, he feet landed; one, two. As soon as they were down, her feet came back up getting her into the air as she flipped sideways to send her left foot crashing down on the beasts head, hoping to give it a concussion and damage it heavily.

As the bunshin came flying out of the woods creating as much noise as possible, it also came out ready to attack the second black backed beast. The clone was nowhere as powerful as Aya and the girl couldn't control it as well as she could control her own body, but the clone would hopefully be able to land a hit before being hit itself. Coming out with almost the same attack as Aya, but instead of doing an arial attack at the end of her walkover, the clone did a powerful cartwheel hoping to hit the second jackal with a windmill attack instead of a powerful downward hit on the head.

The Jackals running up to the back turned around and cowered in fear. The were amongst the leaders of the pack and knew that this two legged walker was far above their game. Eventhough they were backing up and away from the cart, they still bore their teeth and snarled before disappearing into the valley from where they came from.

Utterly concerned with tearing into the flesh of the woman, the Jackal hadn't known that a swift kick was coming. Knocking the mangy mutt off of the woman, the jackal's eyes began to spin as he tried to regain his focus. Once he did, he saw the boy charging at him like a silly boar. Easily, the jackal was able to avoid this head on attack and giving himself room to bite the boy! Kana's Jackal 1d20 + Dodge [30] - 2 Loss = 29 [HIT] 1d20 + Dodge [30] - 2 Loss = 48
Only the jackals claws had gotten to the girl and the boy! The Jackal let out a mighty huff as his food got away, but he wanted to get to that smell... That smell that was coming from that wooden cart. The smell was only a minor distraction as he heard something loud coming from the valley. Turning his head momentarily, the Jackal was caught off guard and hit with a mighty blow to the skull, its chin slamming into the ground with a crack. Aya Jackal 1 Detect: Auto-fail 1d20 + Dodge [20] - 2 Loss = 23 [HIT]
The second Jackal was not concerned with the noise coming from the bushes, but slightly concerned with what had come out. Another two-legged girl to attack them. He had not noticed her there before! Growling and avoiding the attacks that came, the Jackal would not hesitate to take out this creature that smelt of earth water. With blood dripping down his chin from the first bite into the large woman, the semi-large Jackal came at the boy who had hit him off the juicy flesh he had been feasting upon. With teeth bore, he went to tear into the boy this time. He had been given an opportunity to bite and he did not hesitate. His mad eyes seem to scream with madness as his white teeth yearned to bite, to tear, to rip and to utterly destroy. He would bite and then tear with his claws with a firm latch. The Jackal was close to the boy and the only way for the boy to get away from his mighty fangs would be a quick slip to the side clear from the cart. Kana's Jackal 1d20 + Grapple [12] -2 Loss= 17 1d20 + Fight [26] -2 Loss= 27
After being hit, the Jackal stumbled backwards slightly, but not before bearing his teeth and giving out a mad growl that echoed off the sides of his throat and belted out his mouth without him even howling. After his stand off and moment to gain a clear vision, the Jackal charged with his claws held out in a mighty jump. Aya's 1st Jackal 1d20 + Intimidate [10] -2 Loss= 21 1d20 + Fight [16] -2 Loss= 16
Easily avoiding the attacks, the Jackal did not hesitate to take a quick snap at the girl in the leg with his teeth and shake his head viciously to rip flesh from the leg. Clone's Jackal 1d20 + Grapple [11] -2 Loss= 26 1d20 + Fight [16] -2 Loss= 17
