well i agree with you that they could have been a little more creative with the name and stuff but come on do we listen to HIM for the names??? or do we listen to it for the great music they give us??? i sure as hell dont listen to it for the names i love the music they play it is amazing and always will be and dark light is prolly ONE of my faves they have come out with by the way..... well srry if i kind went all blah on u guys lol i ju love him what can i say ?

I'm like you, I don't really care for the names, and I don't see why everyone seems to hate Dark Light, I adore the whole cd, I'm around alot of people who hate dark light anyway. but just because they hate it doesn't make it bad, right? confused

Jades_Fire_Inside I love the new album, and Venus (In our blood) is my absolute favorite song. Sdly though, i ABSOLUTLY HATE THE SONG DARK LIGHT!!! its sooo...ugh...i hate it. Everything else is the s**t.....and, darling, don't worry, Ville is EVERYONES god....
Dark Light is so...anticlimactic. But the rest of the album is amazing.

Sdly though, i ABSOLUTLY HATE THE SONG DARK LIGHT!!! its sooo...ugh...i hate it. Everything else is the s**t. And darling, i belive the line is "Forever we are, Forever we've been, Forever we'll be crucified to a dream" But thats okay, everyone makes mistakes. I also love the line "Venus denies your seven towers above dark waters....venus denies you and your dark waters, the moon kissed the sun and now we, hold her, in our blood" and "the blood on our hands is the wine.." and "with hell freezing over in our eyes, gods kneel before our crime" and "Tears will turn from sweet to sour, and hours to days..". And personaly, im glad that HIM sort of reinvente their sound each album. That way we all always get to hear something wonderful and new!
and, darling, don't worry, Ville is EVERYONES god....
Yes I belive your correction is right thanx. And I would also like to tell you that I evnvy you with every particle in my body....Because my version doesnt have Venus (In Our Blood). wow, ive never been that envied...well, see if you know someone with the special edition CD, cause every HIM fan needs to hear that song. It is amazing. Whoa whoa whoa... Are we talking about Dark Light?? I have the special edition of that CD and it SO not on there.... What am I missing?!?

some creativity is lost, writing wise. i think they did a few different things music-wise...the music is a lot heavier in some of the songs in dark light than it was in love metal. it took me back to vol 666 4laugh

I really like the Dark Light album. It's not my favorite, but it's not bad either.
I love "Under the Rose" "Wings of a Butterfly" "Behind the Crimson Door" and "In the Nightside of Eden"
I've not heard of the Venus song either! crying
*needs to check iTunes to see if it's there*

granted Dark Light is not my fav -][=][-][-][v][- album but it is still better than ALOT of other stuff out there....and sux for me that they cancelled their No sleep til Halloween tour (with Kill Hannah...woot).....but they said it was to work on a new cd so /shrug....also heard a rumor that Ville is going into rehab....but alas its only a rumor so...there is no foundation for that wobbly building to stand on.

I'm not gonna lie or hold back, but I hate when people critisize their so-called favorite band in that same way: comparing the cd's to the last. My friend J does this all the fricken time. He compares Breaking Benjamin's latest cd to the first and it's supposedly not as good. You can like something and not compare it. Maybe fans are just flakey, but if the cds are really not "as good as..." then why bother listening to it? it's either good or not good, there can't be a degree. Some songs suck and some songs are awesome, others are just songs. Some mean something, others are catchy, and still others are annoying.
Each cd is a different time period, message, maybe sound, grade (as far as progression, not "good, better, best"). In a fan's life; in the lineage of the group's albums (discography); and in life, period. There's no, oh well this is better because it's talking about this and it sounds like this...Maybe you just like the sound of this CD and its lyrics, but the feel of another doesn't hit you the same way. As fans we grow and some things we grow out of. Some sounds, some images. The band does too.
I'm just not willing to admit, falsely, that HIM (or any band for that matter) deteriorates like that. Maybe there's just no connection from band to fan, and fan to band. Admit it: those who critisize just don't like the CD.

Really? That sucks, I know how you feel though. I'm in Nova Scotia and for a long time it was hard for me to find stuff by them, then when Love Metal came out all the CD stores had HIM stuff. HMV even had the singles collection a few times, a version of RR that came with a bonus DVD and quite a few times had the imported RR. Now that Dark Light came out, even Walmart carries HIM (only that album though) and HMV had a few of the book limited editions of Dark Light. So hang in there, if little old Halifax can start selling lots of HIM stuff, you're bound to get some.
