Kirinketsu gave a mirrored sigh and said, "Well, we've both got our own share of scars, don't we?" He stood up rather stiffly and stretched with his hind legs before adding in a lighter tone, "I hate to wreck whatever mood we've got going here, but I don't want to get all crampy later."

Spod laughs and gets up as well. "It is alright. Sitting for a long time seems a little strange for me anyways." He peered down at his glove that had fallen for a moment and sighs. Pulling it up once again he blows some hair from his eyes. "I really don't know why I wear my gloves. They seem to always be falling and making me pull them up." He peered at the bright dragonfly. "I hope you don't mind if I grab a fish to eat. The reason I came over here was to find something to eat."

Kirinketsu gave a bark of laughter and nodded. "Sure thing." He grinned and added, "And about the gloves - maybe you'll grow into them? And even if you don't, they help set you apart, at least." He chuckled and moved to the sandy shore of the river, interested in how Spod would fish.

"Yes I hope I do grow into them or something. Because it gets annoying when I'm walking around and they fall down. I don't know how my mother does it all the time. Hers seem to stay in place nicely." He gave at look at his gloves for a moment then laughed.
Spod moved over to the waters and paused for a moment to watch a few fish within view. Moving forward a bit into the water he waited until one came close enough to scoop out. He had other ways of getting fish out of the water, like changing into what his parents called an elf. But he didn't like changing like that around others yet.
With fish in mouth he moves back out of the water and quickly ends the fish's life. He didn't like to see things in pain at all. Peering at the green dragonfly he smiled. "Would you like some?"

Kirinketsu shook his head cheerfully and explained, "It's pretty ironic, but I actually just finished eating when I found you." He smiled and added, "And I fish just about the same way you do." He nodded as if to himself and glanced at the river before sitting down. He'd heard that eating while standing up was bad for your insides and didn't want Spod to feel impolite by sitting down when Kirin hadn't.

Spod sat and started on his fish. He couldn't remember the last time he had fish. "Well I have many ways of fishing. One of them involves my tail and hitting them... But that makes it painful for them. Another way is..." He stopped there and started on his fish again. He finished it and thought for a moment. "You know how both of my parents are elders right. Well they were showing me how I can change into a smaller form. I think they called it an elf form or something. In that form I can grab the fish or use other tools get the fish. But I'm shy about doing that..."

Kirinketsu nodded eagerly. "Yeah - an elf form! It gives you two legs like the walkers who once ruled the land." He got a faded look in his eyes as he recalled his father once again. With a quick blink, though, the look was gone and he was talking again. "I guess I can understand how that might be a bit embarrassing around strangers though." Kirinketsu cocked his head to the side and tried to imagine how it might feel to change your body's shape. He imagined it might be pretty weird at first.

Spod watched the other dragonfly's face for a moment then smiled. "When I get better at changing then I would do it more. But because it takes so long for me to do it. I'm scared that I will mess it up some how." He looked down almost sad about it. "Plus I have not tried to to much." He laughed and blow some hair out of his eyes. "Also it scares some dragonflies I have heard. Because it is an odd thing to see. An elf walking around the forest."

Kirinketsu gave a nod of understanding and replied, "Yeah ... I can see how it might be strange." In a slightly smaller voice, he added, "One of my Dad's friends was an elder. He sometimes came to see us while still in his elf form." Kirinketsu turned his thoughts away from such memories and tried to focus on what Spod had said before that - something about being afraid he would mess up. Kirin entertained the passing thought of a creature made of Spod's upper half, but with the bottom half of the elf form. He gave a little giggle and asked, "Well, if you're so afraid of messing up, why don't you practice in front of your parents? They'd know how to fix you if anything went wrong, right?"

"Well it's not that it goes wrong. It's just that I fail and I feel like I shouldn't fail... My mom is kinda judgey..." Spod looked up at the sky. "But I only started trying it, so she can't get that mad. Plus my mother trys to show me better ways of doing it." He laughed before looking at the green dragonfly. "I really have not made many friends because we are on the move so much..."

Kirinketsu cocked his head to the side and said, "She's judgemental? That's not good ..... Well ..... you can practice in front of me if you'd like, or I could go away and come back later, to give you time to yourself ...." He gave a shrug and then said, "Yeah. When you wander as much as I do, solid friendships are hard to make as well." He gave a nod and then smiled.

Thinking about trying it infront of someone else he shook his head. "No I don't think I'm ready yet to try it in front of someone else. Maybe if we meet again then I can show you. Because if we are both wandering then we might run into each other again." He liked the idea of running into the same dragonfly a few times. "Let become friends then alright. Then we always know that there is someone out there to look for well wandering!"

Kirinketsu nodded. "Alright then!" he agreed happily, holding out his paw for Spod to grasp. That was a habit he'd picked up from his father, who'd picked it up from nowhere special. Whenever he made deals, he'd used to grasp the paw of the other party and then they would both shake. To be honest, Kirinketsu didn't really know what it meant or why he did it, but he carried on with it anyway. "It's a promise," he vowed.

Spod blinked at the other dragonfly holding out his paw. Taking a moment he offered a smile and held out his paw to grasp the green dragonfly's. "Also sometime you will be able to meet my parents. One of them is really nice and wears gloves like me. The other has spikes like me. So I picked up something from both of them." He blow some hair out of his face.

Kirinketsu shook Spod's paw and grinned. "I think that's the point of children, y'know. I think we're meant to be a little of this and a little of that of our parents," he said with humor. "And I wouldn't mind meeting your parents someday," he added. He flicked his tail and chuckled when Spod blew his hair from his face yet again. Kirin got the sense that even if he didn't like it in his face, Spod probably liked his long hair anyway. "Say, do your parents have a traveling plan? Or do they just go where they go?" he questioned curiously.
