Clone#2-in the dining room-with Nimue The clone remained still staring at Nimue with those empty eyes waiting for the destruction to begin. Offering no objection or excuses the Copy simply sat quietly awaiting a fiery end. Though as an after thought the copy stood and spoke, “As our mistress commands.”
Clone#3-in the halls-alone The copy was quick but not quick enough, it held the cup tightly as it searched the imediate vicinity for the lone guest. When the clone had exhausted all possibilities there was no other course of action but to inform the first. Moving quickly to the Kitchen the copy gave the report of failure but Arch only smiled.
Arch, servant of the Sorceress Nimue-in the kitchen-with clone #3. Arch kept that warm smile as he took the glass from the doppelgänger and set it on a counter as he spoke, “Walk with me.” He lead the clone to the door that lead to the dining room. Arch saw his mistress almost buried in her chair sitting opposite one of his copies. It always made him a little jealous when she would spend time alone with those lifeless husks, but this time he didn’t have time to be angry with that particular clone.
Arch could only watch flames rise from his mistress and whistle slightly at the spectacle. He always dreaded her ‘killing’ his clones but sometimes it felt better to break the ones that failed rather than simply dismissing them rendered his mistress a short bow as he spoke quickly, “I apologize for interrupting this no doubt riveting conversation milady, please pay me no mind I can wait.” Arch then shook his head as he sighed and continued, “I really got to work on a smart one.”
((Oh I figured on the spoon thing... and I also guessed that she wouldn’t have any moral objections... Oh well, this will be fun...))

Wearing a totally self satisfied - if strangely cold - smile, Yvette retreated to her earlier position by her shoes; after all, the clone was nowhere nearby. She picked up the shoes and observed them with a grimace. Heels were not ideal for slithering around. However, if she was going to keep working under the pretense that she was a normal human being [a pretense that was entirely wrong AND of her own choosing, so it was all good] then she couldn't just magically have boots. It would be nice though. Maybe she should have asked the clone for a pair before she pulled the headache stunt. Too late now, anyway.
With that thought, she set off down the hallway again, this time at a slower pace, so her heels - which she had put back on - would make a minimal amount of noise. She kept one eye trained on her surroundings, searching for a particularly likely door. She wondered if everything she was doing was being watched.... That would make it hard. However.
With a grunt, she pulled her oversized-for-a-reason purse off her shoulder and leaned against the wall to look into it, hunched over in a manner that suggested she was having trouble finding something. It also hid her activities from view. "Sulfur, get you butt out here." A black cat's head emerged in the out of sight interior of the purse, and blinked at her with its yellow eyes boredly. Stupid thing didn't talk much. She sighed. "Go scouting, and make sure NOTHING sees you. In any way. I need you to try and find Nimue's study - if she has one."
The cat rolled it's eyes and slunk back into the purse - then a small portal opened, and the demon was gone to another part of the manor. Yvette pulled out some lip gloss [lipstick was just a bit too vain for her likes] and smiled triumphantly, applying it and sticking it back in the purse before moving on.
[[I really got confused for a second, thinking you were gonna do something dastardly with a spoon XDD]]

Nimue's stopped at the voice of the true Arch, her flames halting their movement as she pulled them from her arms like sleeves to toss into the fireplace. Her face smoothed as her anger was neatly folded onto an inner shelf. "What is it?" she sighed.
Meanwhile, in the study of Nimue, The Crows gathered. About fourteen, excluding the bottom half of a crow who had failed to use the portal correctly, stood in a circle in the middle of the room. Candles were their light, appearing to be dangerously close to burning the papers they sat near. They did not dare to rid themselves of waste in this room, for Nimue would set upon them the most horrible curses, but it was the only room they could gather without fear of her ears. The room was not connected to the house, only by the portal they used (except for Crow Thirteen who had been cut in half). Their cawing and calling filled the room, all at once where none of it could be pieced into sense even by themselves, until the largest (Crow Two) made such a noise that they all ceased into silence to communicate and discuss with the ability Nimue had bestowed upon them. "Chut the 'ell up! Wes suppossed to bee de... de... decidin'!" Crow Two pecked at the one next to him. "Eey! We is de-decidin'! To...uh... uhm..." Crow Four shifted and twitched in his spot on the other side of Crow Two. "Whut is we desicioning?" Balthazar (Crow Ten) turned his single eye onto Four. "We're going to decide what to do with Lady Nimue's guests. Drive them away or welcome them in? Lady Nimue might see it fit to destroy us should we do this... turning against her." The other crows, who never really liked Balthazar for his 'smarts' and favoritism from their Mistress, shouted their thoughts and aruged amongst themselves one more. Balthazar, tired of his brothers, kept silent.

Arch, servant of the Sorceress Nimue-in the Dining room-with Nimue, clone #2 and clone #3. Arch’s smile grew wider watching his mistress dismiss the flame without destroying the clone, he had after all made a promise to punish it if it anger his mistress. However first there was business to take care of, “Well milady, that one,” Arch pointed at the clone that had followed him even as he walked toward the nearest window while still speaking, “has news for you. A little fresh air will do you a world of good milady,” and at that he cracked the window open still wearing his warm smile, “well, tell her the whole story you glorified doppelgänger.”
The clone then stood forward and began speaking, “this one was asked by one of the guests of our mistress to get the guest some water,” Arch in the mean time walked quickly toward the clone that had narrowly escaped being burned back into the void, “this one got the water as quickly as possible,” and as Arch reached the aforementioned clone he drew a knife that had been expertly hidden up his sleeve, “when this one returned to the hall where this one left our mistress’s guest,” the knife slipped easily into the soulless form of the copy and it seemed the void from which the husk had come in the first place was forcing itself out of the wound. As Arch concentrated on keeping the clone from dispersing back into the aether he drug the shape to the open window, “this one searched high and low but this one could not find our mistress’s guest.” As the clone finished Arch spoke to the copy that he held, “remember I promised.”(if you don’t remember, see page one second post from the bottom. The end of the first paragraph.)and without another word he threw his doppelgänger out the window into whatever awaited below.
Arch frowned as he inhaled deeply, the clone’s experiences and memories washed over him. Everything was uneventful until the copy’s destruction. As always Arch felt sick at the unnerving quality that came with the memory of self destruction. There was no wound, there would be no scar and regardless of what he thought Arch would not cough up blood from his lungs Arch had all the memories of being stabbed in the chest he even remembered the pain that the clone hadn’t felt. Swallowing the discomfort Arch waited to see his lady’s reaction.

Nimue watched Arch as he stabbed and threw the clone of himself out the window into the ocean that only a few rooms looked out upon. When both were finished, the story of a guest and the murder of a clone, she folded her arms and smiled. "So, a guest has ditched the servant. Let's hope she was eaten by a cupboard or something!" The sorceress picked up a plate that was rather shiny and reflective. She stared at it a moment and then began fixing her hair which straightened and darkened. A few seconds later, she was an exact copy of her servant. Clothes, man and all. Her voice, however, was still her own. "Let's get looking then, hm?" she suggested rather full of cheer and the like, motioning for them to lead the way.
But feeling a slight tingle, she instead moved first out of the door and in what seemed a random direction. Her walk was hers, the only thing Arch were looks as she was never any good at being anyone other than Nimue.

Arch, servant of the Sorceress Nimue-in the Dining room-with Nimue, and clone #3. Arch could have laughed but remained silent his mistress had been so close to turning a clone into a smoldering pile of nothing and now she ignored the bearer of bad news. It suited Arch just fine he disliked violently ending more than one clone at a time. Arch smiled as he responded to his mistress, “of course milady,” it seemed a waste to have his clone following them around so he dismissed the husk back into the void. Then rather than commenting or making a move to lead his mistress Arch simply followed her. She knew things about the realm that he couldn’t dream, so as a servant he followed.

"Mistress, you ARE spoiled, aren't you?" Yvette inquired of the grand hallway, performing an admirable imitation of the clone's lifeless tone. She was snooping about the corridor, rearranging flowers in their vases and occasionally attempting to open doors. She was in fact waiting for her report back from Sulfur. As she tapped a statue, and told herself not to be surprised with it gave her a reproachful stare, Yve reminded herself to watch for the cupboards. One had already tried to eat her, and she suspected the pile of smoldering ash would likely give away that there was something odd about this guest.
"Hey." the low pitched whisper still managed to startle her, and she still had to look around a moment before finding Sulfur crouched under the table. She knelt next to the cheeky feline. "Hello Precious, what is it..?" she purred, deciding to pretend she had just noticed an odd cat and decided to pet it.
Sulfur, irritated at the display of ditzery, growled slightly, and then began his report: "Couldn't find the study. Found half a crow, nothing sides it. Heard voices. Saw someone fall past window. Done." he regarded ironically, but she just smiled and petted him, thinking how absolutely annoyingly intelligent Nimue could be.

Nimue paused, the sound of another down a turn of hallway pulled her in that direction and as she peeked around the corner, she was rewarded with the sight of the ditchy guest petting a cat. This was odd, for she did not remember ever bringing an animal other than her crows into the Realm. Rats and mice were always getting themselves lost into the place. Would a cat? She didn't think so. They weren't very smart.
Nimue, as a copy of Arch, stepped into view. Her hands laced behind her back as she wore a warm smile. If she appeared herself, it actually would have been quite creepy. Instead of speaking and giving away the game, she waited for Arch to catch up and do so for her.

Arch, servant of the Sorceress Arch had followed about twenty paces behind his disguised mistress and had just rounded a corner to find his employer smiling warmly toward an unknown recipient. Arch panicked, he was sure that the guest would have figured out the emotionless nature of the clones and if he knew his mistress she would be impersonating his doppelganger. So remaining composed he moved as quickly and quietly as he could to get in front of his mistress. After rounding that last corner he stood silently surprised at the spectacle, or just the cat. He moved slowly now before kneeling about ten paces away from the guest and speaking softly to the cat, “well sweetheart, how did you get here?” Arch was of course unaware of the cat’s nature and simply moved on to the guest, “Well Miss it seems that you’re none the worse for wear.”
He stood straight still wearing his own warm smile then he extended his hand to help the young lady to her feet as he continued, “I’m glad you didn’t get too lost as my mistress requests your presence in the dining hall. This time I’m afraid I must be insistent, it would pain milady terribly if you were to become lost irretrievably.” Arch hoped that he had kept the guest from examining his mistress too closely and internally prayed that this would go smoothly. He also of course made a mental note to do something about the feline intruder.

Charlie glanced at the boy; he seemed to be missing something vital. A piece of himself, if you will. Sighing she turned on her heal to face the boy fully, why on earth was she concerned about HIM when she was stuck HERE, wherever the hell here was. It was disconcerting, not knowing where you were, or where you were near. Mumbling she looked at his features and frowned, “Why do you want me here, anyway? I’d really like to leave, considering I don’t know you people. “ Charlie hesitated, “You are people huh? What am I sayin’ ‘course you’re people.” Scolding herself she asked again, “What am I doing here exactly? You need somthin’?”

"And what if...." she picked the complacent feline up innocently, then gazed back at Arch with big eyes - the kind that made a person think she was just a silly ditz or a joker - and inquired politely. "..I say no?"
She didn't think the 'clone' beside the servant was a real clone - the smile was quite real, not hollow and faint, as the ones she'd expect the clones to give were. And if this one was Nimue in disguise, she wanted to see how she would react to the question.

Her mistake was only realized as Arch moved in front of her. Or was it his? She wasn't going to be the lesser being. But as the girl picked up the cat and gave her servant a look of vacancy, Nimue let slip her smile and the appearance of Arch in favor of her own. A crow morphed with her, to perch upon her left shoulder. Its left eye was missing, the right gazed at the servant and guest for a moment. It seemed nothing more than a crow, pecking and twitching with the red curls of the sorceress.
"No? Are you refusing?" she asked as she took steps to be at the side of Arch, lightly touching his shoulder and looking down at the guest. Her eyes large and sad, hurt by the question.

Arch, servant of the Sorceress-in the halls-with Nimue & Yvette Arch stood for a moment blissfully unaware of his almost obvious transgression. Then it hit him like a sack of bricks, he had gone over his mistress’s head. Arch took a deep breath then felt a slight shiver as his mistress touched his shoulder. Then as he composed himself he spoke pointedly but with a warm tone to the guest, “well as I said my mistress would be pained terribly, see the pain in her eyes. She is already very sad simply at the suggestion that you don’t want to eat dinner and have polite conversation with her.” Arch paused a moment but gave no emphasis to his next statement, ”of course once my mistress and I are out of your sight she will beat me.”
Clone#1-in the Parlor-with Charlie The clone was thoroughly confused by the young guest’s flurry of questions and demands. Every little thing was first taken in then sorted into an easily understood form before the copy finally gave a verbal response, “Your presence is not defined by this one’s desire, you are here because you accepted our mistress’s invitation. This one is certain our mistress would be happy to let you leave, however you would have to ask her personally.”
The clone stopped a moment letting the words sink into the guest before continuing, “No, this one is not people. This one is not many, this one is only one, so this one is not people.” The doppelganger paused once more before finishing, “there? You are standing there, you are also breathing, which suggests that you are likely transporting oxygen and nutrients through your circulatory system. This one does thank you for your concern Miss, but no. this one does not need anything.”

Charlie nodded in slow comprehension. She was of course, confused to wits end. Glancing at the boy she smiled, "Don't call yourself this one, I'll name you myself if I haveta." She murmured, looking him over slowly. She was sad she couldn't sink her mind into his, to find something there. She had hated her power when it didn't do as she wished, or was this young man not a man at all, but a figment of her better judgement? She hated the questions she was having to aske herself.
"I will call you Cliff, if all else fails you will rename yourself and tell me then what you would like to be called." She cooed, smiling as if she had accomplished some great challenge. Then remembering the fact that she had been standing in this one place this entire time. "Where do I need to go to talk to this Nimue?"

"Look, if you're trying to make me think well of your Mistress, telling me she beats you is a bad way to go about it, young man. And besides that, don't either of you go assuming at what I'm implying. I was just asking to see if that was a choice, alright? I dislike being backed into a corner." she sniffed, realizing she had let drop her facade of stupid innocence, but that was fine with her. "Which, by the way, is what your cute little guilt trip would have done. If your mistress Nimue-" she gestured to the sorceress, "is as nice as you imply when you talk about her, I doubt she'll beat her charming servant. Isn't that right?" she smiled sincerely at Nimue. "You seem far too pleasant to do any such thing."
Relaxing out of the aggressive stance she had unconsciously taken, Yvette tossed her head. "Now, I am fairly famished, and you're still giving me puppy eyes; so I'll attend your dinner and get to know you better." she resumed her friendly act quite neatly, grinning convincingly at Nimue.
