"I don't think wild carrots grow this time of year." She retorted before racing off. The young pup was sure amusing, that was for sure.
Makki returned with a pair of rabbits, freshly killed for them to dine on. Makki wasn't a huge fan of the winter vegetation. She looked around for where her young friend was as she followed her tracks until she came to the makeshift den. Makki set the rabbits down. "Knock knock."

Kria heard the older helix and smirked, the fresh kill was a nice smell. "Come on in, it's actually pretty warm in here." She pulled out a few bits of something she'd found. Mushrooms that grew in the dankness of her little den. They were the good kind. Kria knew to test things before actually eating them, and it hadn't done anything adverse to the squirrels she'd forced to eat them, so, she'd been mostly subsisting on those for the past couple of days. Meat would make it all the better.

After bringing the rabbits in, Makki glanced around the den. It was good enough. Hers was better though. The old bear den had served her well so far. She tossed one of the rabbits to Kria. "Eat up."

After they had eaten, Makki decided to just sleep there. But didn't really remember that when she woke up first thing the next morning. She was a little surprised to see a pup beside her, but then remembered meeting Kria. She sighed looking at the pup. Outside, faintly-but coming closer, Makki could hear singing.
"Tell me what the rain knows. Oh are these the tears of ages?"

They had eaten well that night and the pup slept hard. She was still asleep though there was singing coming towards them. This is why she didn't often eat meat, she simply at vegetation. Meat made her sleeping habits a little askew. She rolled over and kicked her hind leg in her sleep. Her ears twitched a little, her eyes shooting open at an odd sound.
Scrambling to her feet, which for some reason seemed to have gotten just a little longer., She made a dash outside and fell face first into the snow, her tail having gotten caught up in her legs. All one could see was perhaps the ears twitching wildly, and a rump sticking up out of the snow.

 A low rumble rose up from Makki's throat, though she hadn't meant for one. Something set her nerves on edge. The singing was getting closer, then suddenly stopped. A blue male was standing there, staring at the blue rump a moment. "Strangest stump I've ever seen. Mayhaps this was a might redwood! To the redwood to the redwood to the redwood redwood trees~" he trailed off in song again. Makki jumped out of the den, leaping over Kria while growling. Those wings... "You're one of them." She sneered. Every hair along her back was raised as she stared at the bigger, older male. His eyes were hidden by the goggles he wore, the sun reflecting off them slightly.

Kria was listening to the most amusing noises under the snow. It was like there were others talking just above her, but all it came through as was mumbling. With a great huge shove she came up underneath Makki's tail and shook the snow from her head.
Having shook a little too hard, she knocked off her equilibrium and stumbled sideways. Looking a little cross eyed she saw a most peculiar helix. Wings. Her eyes widened as she straightened out her head and really took a good look at the rather strangely...minty green helix. Oooo...pretty. Was her thought as she rather mindlessly started to sneak her way over to him, paying no mind to Makki's actions. His tail looked ever so tempting...as did he.
