"Keep it up!" Aran shouted as he could feel the pain in his legs being taken away, curtisy of Victoria. Aran saw a Gorgon about to cast, but he ran up and punched it in the gut, and then decapitated it.

"How many more?" Sue asked, as she aimed another arrow from her short bow. She was about to fire again with her deadly accuracy.
Victoria shot off another spell from her lightning tome, taking out a Gorgon in two hits. "I don't know how many more are left, Lady Sue... but... my advice is that we defeat them all.."

[[*Together We Ride plays as reinforcements come tumbling in*]]
A Mogall near the group started to concentrate for a pulse of dark energy, aiming directly at the nomad trying to determine her target, Short Bow at the ready. Before it could release the blast, Amelia came up upon it, stabbing her Javelin and ripping it out through the side. The Mogall's tentacles twitched, and the entire creature fell to the ground in an oozing heap.
"You guys need any help?" Amelia asked with a smile. She threw her lance without another word. It flew true, spearing through the belly of a Gorgon lurking in the trees.

"All help is Appreciated Amelia, I'm surprised you guys made it back so quickly" A Tarvos brought his axe down on Aran, but he blocked it with his Shield in time. He and the beast parried blows for a while before Aran was able to Lance him in both arms and send him packing.

When Valter reached the battlefield, the first thing he did was find a target. Let the fun begin... The wyvern rider dropped to the earth with enough force to make the monster he landed on into a pile of blood mixed with snow. Then, with a great gust of wind, he flew at a nearby mogall, impaling it with his lance.

"From what I can see," Melethia said looking around cause it was hard to hit her in the air, "There isn't that much left." She shot a few more elfire spells.

Amelia just grinned. "Can't let you guys get overwhelmed!" she shouted as she ran at the Gorgon she had skewered, ripping her lance out of its belly. She didn't bother to watch it fall as she ran at a Mogall and stabbed it twice, letting it fall to the ground with a rather sickening squish.

"Nope, you can't" Aran responded while ducking a blow from another Tarvos. By the looks of things, they'd win this fight soon. Especially since Valter just joined, and the low numbers of both Gorgons and Tarvos.

Valter jumped off of his wyvern, landing right in front of a Tarvos and thrusting his lance through the creature's heart while his wyvern ripped the head off of a nearby Gorgon. "Ahh... Nothing is more satisfying than the blood of one's enemy..."

I'm ignoring that, Amelia thought to herself as she faced a Tarvos. The huge creature reared up and rushed at her with a Steel Axe, swinging wide. Amelia managed to roll to the side and tumbled through the snow, panting. While it brought its arms back to go for a second swing, Amelia threw her lance, spearing it in the shoulder. The Tarvos roared and bucked, and Amelia tugged hard on the rope attached to her Javelin to bring it back. With a second throw, the beast was dead. Amelia pulled herself up and grasped her lance in both hands again, now covered in snow, shivering at the ice granules that had gotten down her coat.

Mysterious Shadowy Figure
|
Posted: Tue Dec 23, 2008 3:39 pm
They were dispatching his children so easily! Infuriated, the figure suddenly leaned forward and shot over the snow and between the trees, straight through some of them. He flew out of the trees, still invisible, and landed right in the middle of the fighting party. His presence was instantly obvious to Victoria, as a splitting, crippling migraine terrible enough to knock her to her knees, but he was invisible to all the others, even Brammimond.
"My children!" he roared, "Come all ye together, become the black hate that claims their lives and show them my true wrath!" He raised one gnarled, withered hand and lifted it into the sky above his head!
The remaining Tarvos cried out as they were dragged into the air, and two Maelduin thundered out of the woods only to find themselves wrenched from the ground as well, dragged into a tiny dot where they were compressed together. The Gorgons were pulled out of the snow and dragged in, screaming curses to the heavens, and Gargoyles flying through the trees fought a powerful force of suction that dragged them into it, one, two, one after the other, seven in all. Deafening roars and howls shook the earth as three Cerberus were also pulled in, dragging their claws along the snowy ground before they were lifted into the air and disappeared into the hole...
The shadowy figure lowered his hands, and the singularity into which the monsters had been pulled followed it to the ground. The horrible old man hissed, in his rough and sandy voice, "Take shape and lay waste to all who would oppose me!" He let loose a cruel laugh, turning his head to watch Victoria writhe on the ground while the dot suddenly exploded outward, taking shape.
Whatever the black figure was that was forming itself in front of the group was, it was terrible. It was huge-- twice as tall as a warhorse, with a long body, enormous wings, a lashing tail.
The black shine that covered the creature dissipated as the cloaked figure laughed. There were three heads-- two of a mighty Cerberus, their teeth gnashing, their tongues hanging out as they snapped at Melethia and Aran.. The center head was a Gorgon's snake-haired, scaly face, with blazing eyes that could turn a man to stone with the right glare. They were raised up on a Tarvos' mighty upper body, with massive arms holding a pair of gigantic axes. Another pair of arms stuck out of its chest, the spindly spellcasting arms of a Gorgon. It stood on four giant legs with huge Cerberus claws, and massive stone Gargoyle wings sprouted from its wings. Behind it lashed the long, scaly tail of a Gorgon.
"Attack, my Chimera," laughed the cloaked figure, lifting his claw-like hands. "Slaughter them like the pathetic creatures they are!"
He laughed again, leaning down to stroke Victoria's cheek, just to worsen her migraine, while the Chimera screeched and took off, flying circles around the group. Immediately, the Gorgon claws sticking out of its chest launched an enormous Demon Surge right at Amelia!

(HOSHI-) They were about to kill off the rest of the monsters when they all got sucked into one Black Hole. He saw Victoria fall on her knees, "Victoria wha-" That was all he could say before he saw the huge mass of evil that was all the monsters combined into one

"Oh crap." She said when she saw the thing form. Melethia flew back a bit from the snapping of the Chimera. She saw the demon surge flying at Amelia. She flew in the way of the surge to take the hit.

I should have known something like this would happen.
Amelia watched in horror as what enemies were left swirled up and into the air, disappearing into what she could only describe as a hole pierced into the heavens, disappearing from sight. Before she could wonder aloud how this anomaly could occur, the dot fell down and exploded with a huge burst of energy. Amelia braced herself, holding her lance tighter, eyes screwed shut. When she opened them again, the sight of the chimera made her eyes widen.
Not as big as the clock tower... one part of her thought, trying to rationalize things, while most screamed HOLY LATONA over and over, drowning out anything else. The clock tower zombie had been big, but it didn't have claws and Gorgon magic and a pair of giant, muscular arms holding a pair of massive axes that looked sharp enough to cleave through a boulder with one effortless swing.
Amelia knew she had to move, half her mind telling her to run and the other half screaming at her to fight, but before she could take a step, the black magic of a Demon Surge crushed into her chest. She vaguely saw Melethia flying at her as the force knocked her back and into a drift of snow, inches away from striking a tree.
"O-Ow," Amelia muttered, shakily pulling herself up. Her head throbbed and her knees wobbled, but she was back on her shaky feet. Magical resistance was not her strong point. "Dammit..."

"Ahh... I... Ahhh!!!" Victoria was plugging her ears, not that it helped. The migraines that were brought on by the Mysterious Shadow Figure were piercing, so much, that the priestess couldn't concentrate. She darted into a tree of a nearby forest, as to hide herself from the monster. "Take... care of.. the rest... I can't go on any longer..."
"Sister Victoria, Amelia!!!" Sue felt a great anger rise up in her, to see her new comrades in such distress. Putting away the Short Bow, the nomad pulled out Myulgre, with all its 20 shots courtesy of Rhys and a Hammerne, and she shot at the monstrosity's magic-casting arms with no hesitation whatsoever. She wouldn't let her friends fall here.
