"Well...I suppose there is no gentle way of putting it." He stared, frowning, before a mean smirk spread across his face, "I no longer love you." He said, sharply, "In fact, I can hardly stand being near you. It's a wonder I'm sitting with you without gagging."

Calum looked like had been slapped and his heart ached in a way it never had before. "What?"
He stared at Syd, pleading with his eyes for him to take the words back.

"Are you deaf?" He said, his pale eyes flashing slightly, "I said it clearly enough, did I not?" He slid off of the rock and looked up at Calum, "So what are you going to do?"

Calum's face slipped into the guarded expression he used to wear before he met Syd. He quietly said, "If you didn't want me around anymore, all you had to do was say so. I'm not childish enough to cling when I'm not wanted."
He turned so that his back was to Syd as his guard began to waver. "Now leave me alone."

He grinned wickedly. "Very well." He said, turning towards their house and walking off. He stepped in, and after considering where to go, he went back up the stairs to the bedroom and sat on their bed, and fell limp as if he were dead, and flopped back on his back.
Sydney was released, and he trembled, he'd listened to it all in his mental prison, but, he didn't control it at all. He was enraged, heartbroken, and frightened at the same time, he didn't believe he'd let that happen...

Calum sat on the rock until Syd was out of sight. Then he stood and began to walk off. On the outside he appeared to be his normal calm self, but on the side a storm was raging. He wanted to kick and scream, and wanted to bawl his eyes out like a lost child. But he couldn't, because on the outside he felt numb. All he could do, was walk. And then his mind slipped into black.

Soon enough, Syd began sobbing silently, clenching onto the blanket and burying his face in it, debating going after Calum and apologizing, but he soon realized it was too late, that Calum wouldn't believe him at all. He shuddered, and stared at the wall.

Drawn by her father's sobs, Sadie timidly walked into the room. Her ears pinned back as she stared up at Syd. "....Papa?"

"What's wrong?" Sadie up on to the bed and padded over to her father with the intent to comfort.

He thought for a moment, "I've...I've done something very bad..." He sniffled, trying to hold back his tears. He stared at her, frowning, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to."

"Daddy left?" She lifted a paw to wipe away the tear. "When will he be back?"
