Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Veral'De had been walking what felt like forever, he didn't even know how to check his position in suck a place. He was pretty sure he wasn't in Hungary anymore. He also felt like he was hearing voices which would be a case of dehydration, but he was drinking plenty of liquids so he just called it a case of wind tricks. He continued walking when he saw something heading in his direction, but it could've just been a trick of the desert.

Putting his hand up to shield his eyes from the sun and get a better view he looked out and in fact noticed that it was an actual person. He recognized the voice also and realized it was him who was making all those noises from before not the wind.

Vera'De listened to the man and then smiled his big bright smile that people found comforting to see. "Hey kid! I know about as much as you do, once minute cave the next minute desert. Strange events indeed..." Veral'De saw the look of the guy in front of him and noticed signs of slight dehydration, so he reached into his pack and pulled out an unopened bottle of water. "Here you go kid go ahead and take this one." He grabbed the kid's hand and handed him the water while at the same time introducing himself, "The name's Veral'De it's nice to meet ya!" He said while laughing out loud, he felt better knowing he had actual company.

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Valor's spirit lifted considerably at finding the guy to be friendly. "Rock on, dude! Thanks!" Valor opened the bottle and drank a little from the container. He didn't know how long the two of them might be stuck out there, so he tried not to let himself drink too much. But just a few sips had his voice coming easier and his body feeling much better.

"It's nice to meet you um...Veral'De? Am I saying it right? From the land of caves? Weird stuff, man. I was just in my dorm playing Super Mario when my roommate dropped this crazy book. I didn't see any words in it. I touched it and it, like, swallowed me," Valor said, comically miming getting sucked into a book. "And I'm Valor, from the land of research papers and sexually frustrated teenage boys, also known as Chesterton Academy for Boys."

Chapter 2: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Veral'De chuckled to himself as he heard what the kid, who was now known as Valor started speaking. "No no you're saying it right," he smiled as he listened to Valor's story about how he seemed to become stuff in the desert. When he finally stopped Veral'De took a sip of his water as he was thinking, just an absent minded actions as his brain processed. "Hm...so it seems that the black book brought us here..." He said mostly to himself, but also to Valor. "I found a similar book in a cave that I was exploring...didn't know it would send me here, good thing I was well equiped."

Veral'De reached into his pack and then pulled out two chocolate vitamin energy bars. "...Now these are nasty....but it will fill you up with what you need." He extended his hand with the other bar out to Valor as he started to open his with his teeth.

{"From the land of research papers and sexually frustrated boys" xD I like that line.}

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

He shook her hand as she put it out, replying, "I'm Damien. Did you get sucked by some odd book as well?" His eyebrows were pushed together, in a half-worried frown. He looked into her eyes, which were green, a shade darker then his. 'Odd,' he thought, before her second hand moved to cover her stomach, which was flat. There wasn't much of a reason to cover it, though Damien knew from the few chick-flick type books that girls were very self-conscious of their bodies and speech.

Chapter 2: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Jonny was alone, tired, and badly dehydrated, but he had seen o signs of help. He saw no one, nor did he hear anyone's voice. Just aloneness and cruel emptiness. He had tried really hard to think of a plant where you would get water. A cactus. He searched frantically for a tall green curvy thingy with deathly porqupine spikes shooting out of it, but nothing at all showed up. His weird trail of overly used Axe started to turn blue and dance on the water. "Water?" Jonny said to himself. The spot right above where he stood was spouting water like it was raining. Up from the waters arose a girl. She wore a short black dress and had long white hair, although she was young in the face. When her eyes met Jonny's she smiled, and extended her right hand. "Johanas..." Her voice was a faint little whisper that could barely be heard through the raoring of the sandy winds. "Come with me..." The old gang member blow your brains out kill you if you say boo Jonny would've killed her for knowing his name, but in this case, being in a desert, alone, because you touched a book, he had to accept any weirdnesses.

Chapter 2: Meeting the Magical Myndie

"Now, Micky, since you are my first visitor, I would like to enlighten you on how things work. Sit anywhere you like and tell me, what do you see?" Rikki stared at her surrounds. A small puddle of water accompanied her feet and it was very cold, almost icy. Infront of her stood a tall dragon. "I see gray cave walls and water on the floor and a dragon, Darkstone?""Yup. The reason I ask this is because my Underground Cave is very magical, and magic can be tricky to the eyes. Not everyone who comes here will see things the way you do. What will be the same though is me and my dragon. Also, I'm omniscent, so I ca be all places at once. Right now at this very momement I have another part of me recruiting a boy!" Rikki smiled. "So we're not alone" "Nope. I'll wait till everyone's here before I explain the Blank Book" Rikki remembered that black book that she had touched before she got here.

Just write up to describing your own vision of the Underground Cave. PM the word DONE! to me when you've finished writing about Myndie reqruiting you and you being in the cave so it is easier for me to know when to start writing about Myndie talking to everyone in her land about the book. (It doesn't have to be a cave)

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

"Sweet, I think." Valor said and accepted the bar. He opened it and took one bite, chewing it for a few long and agonizing seconds. The taste wasn't unbearable, but the texture and toughness combined with the flavor of chocolate coated cardboard made him warp his face in disgust and then immediately gulp some more of his water. "Er...not so sweet, but appreciated nonetheless. Nasty is much preferable to say...scurvy."

"That won't be necessary," A voice said, sounding surprisingly close. Valor practically jumped out of his skin when he saw the mysterious girl suddenly before his eyes.

"Whoa! When did you get here?"

"I live here," the girl answered cheerfully, taking both of the men in with her enigmatic eyes. "My name is Myndie and this is the Dragon Desert. It's good to meet you, Valor, and you too Veral'De." Myndie looked at the vitamin bars that the two were holding with clear amusement. "And lucky for the two of you, my home is nearby. If you'll just follow me, I can treat you to a much better meal."

Valor felt dumbstruck, and looked to Veral'De wondering what the more experienced traveller would do.

Chapter 2: Meeting the Magical Mynide

"Hello Damien. Yes i did get sucked into a black book. One of my, I guess you would call them students, gave it to me as a present." Meg said while droping her hands to her side. "I wonde what brought us here?" She asked not really expecting an answer. She looked around hoping to see something but she couldn't. She looked back at him and noticed he was staring into her eyes.

Chapter 2: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Veral'De smiled also when he heard what Valor said about the taste of the bar, yeah it was something you had to get used to. While Valor was eating his bar Veral'De finally finished opening his and he took a huge chunk out of it. He chewed thoughtfully while taking in more of Valor, he noticed the kid had a bright light in his eyes. A bright light that clearly showed intelligence, but he also checked his hands and noticed they were pretty smooth. Hm..., thought Veral'De as he chewed somemore, the kid isn't used to outdoor travels it seems. Which was okay by his standards someone his age could always learn some new outdoor tricks.

He was about to comment on this when suddenly he heard a voice from nearby, one that wasn't male.
"That won't be necessary," it said and Veral'De turned to see a girl in the area that was previously covered with nothing but bare sand. He was slightly surprised to see her and he even took a step back and raised his guard.
"Whoa! When did you get here?", Valor said and Veral'De was thinking the exact same thing, when did she get here, and how come Veral'De didn't sense her at all. Odd...odd indeed.

Listening more to her story Veral'De found out that the place was called Dragon Desert which didn't surprise him, what did surprise him though was the fact that she knew his name. She did though offer a meal and Veral'De didn't notice any ill intent behind her words, so he shrugged and smiled his big smile while puting his large arm around Valor. "Yeah we'll follow you Myndie," Veral'De said while pointed at himself and Valor with his free thumb, the vitamin bar cradled in his palm. "Just lead the way!"

Myndie looked at Valor and Veral'De with her enigmatic eyes again and then smiled flashing her perfect white teeth. "Then follow me," she said and started walking away, Veral'De let his arm slide away from Valor and he started to walk along with Myndie, he stopped to look behind him at Valor. "You coming?" he asked with a playful look in his eyes before following Myndie again.

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie.

Damien smiled as she looked at his eyes. He didn't realize this was supposed to be romantic, he just knew it was somewhat common curtsy. At her question of what could of pulled them here, Damien's mind zipped through books that he'd read. Of course, getiing sucked through a book was pretty rare, but a portal, that was used.Usually, someone was on the other end of said portal, waiting to recieve their newest companions in their world. But where could...? He snapped back to reality. Or what was presumed reality. He'd been looking over Meg's shoulder, his eyes fixed on something invisible. "Mopst likely, It'd be someone or something with magical powers," he says, the mutters, his hand migrating to his chin, "No, that's ridiculous.... But under the circumstances..." He looks back up, from looking at her feet. "But what we should do is get further out of the sun. It'll drain our body-fluids quicker by staying in the heat."

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Meg thought about what he had said. "Ok, but one question. Where exactly do we find a place further out of the sun?" She asked him while looking around. She was still stuck on the comment about magic. "Could it really be magic?" She asked him while never breaking his gaze "I have heard of magic before but i would normaly be teaching the students about how it is not real." She poundered not meaning to think out loud. She shook her head. "Im sorry. That was me thinking out loud. Im use to being alone." She blushed, slightly embarassed with herself.

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie.

"Perhaps closer to the mountain would be good? There might also be a spring or something there," he said, pointing back towards it. "While we may be in the shade at the moment, you're sweating bullets, though I'm not fairing much better." He smirked at his own comment, as Meg was sweating a lot, moer than he, but only because she was running.

Then he pointed at the flat desert. "The sun beats down on the open sand, and the heat travels through them, no matter if they're in shade or not. The heat rises, and it'll make us sweat and lose out body fluids even easier." He stopped, feeling that he was rambling now. To her comment on magic, he turned and started walking more towards the mountain, so she'd follow and said, "We're in a desert, in a book, brought here by who knows what reason," he said, pausing. "If it were under normal circumstances, I'd say it was anything but magic. But now, ... I don't know."

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

Meg followed behind him for a while, her mind racing about what to do. She picked up her pace so they were walking in even strides. "If you and i both got the book. Does that mean that others could be here too?" Meg asked him while staring at the mountians. "I mean, What if the book..." Meg stopped midsentence. She was going to say what if the book got to her father and he was lurking around here. For all she knew he could be following them, watching. She shivered at the thought. 'No, there is absolutly no way he could be here.' She thought while shaking her head to rid her mind of such thoughts.

Chapter Two: Meeting the Magical Myndie

"No actually...it's just so nice out that I thought I'd stand here and get a tan." Valor said, taking a moment to admire his own bare chest. "Wait no! I'm white! I nearly forgot! I don't tan, I burn!" With that he put his shirt back on, rewrapped the vitamin bar and stowed it away in a pocket along with the bottled water, and then took after the group at a run.

He slowed to a walk when he came next to Myndie and matched her pace. "So you live out here in the desert, all by yourself?"

"No, not by myself. I live with my friend, Darkstone, he's a dragon." Myndie replied.

"Oh, I see, a dragon. Hence the Dragon Desert?"

"Yes!" Myndie said cheerfully.

"Makes me kind of wonder what other things might be around here, or what other people," Valor said as he gazed straight ahead. He could see something in the desert that shimmered in the blazing heat. What had appeared to another as a cave within a mountain, appeared to him as a huge forest with tropical trees that reached for the sky. Where the entrance to the cave had been, he instead saw temple ruins forming an ancient gateway. He wondered if this was where she lived or if it was only a mirage.

Chapter 2: Meeting the Magic Myndie

Veral'De could only chuckle when he heard Valor's comments, the kid was pretty white. "Yeah and just maybe you wont burn!" He yelled back as he continued walking, only after a few paces he noticed that Valor has caught up to them and he was asking Myndie questions.
Okay... Veral'De thought, so Myndie owns a dragon meaning in this world things like that exist...hm...I agree with what Valor said what other things might be around...

He was about to ask Myndie a round of questions himself when suddenly a cold blast of air hit his face. His body suddenly went into a state of shock as he couldn't quite register what was happening, wasn't it incredibly hot just a second ago. Veral'De shook his head and blinked a couple of times not believing what he was seeing in front of him.

There was a lake, an enormous lake at that and it had a thin frozen layer of ice on it. Below the ice many fish could be seen swimming each of different colors and shapes, most shimmering in the sunlight. "...What?" A stretch of land reached out to what seemed like a giant iceberge with many facets that reflected the light in the most perculiar ways. It seemed to pulse as if with it's own heartbeat, and in the center of the iceberge was a jagged gouge that looked like it went on forever.

No matter how deep Veral'De's perception of the gouge got, the light at the end only seemed to stay the same size as if inviting him in.

"Do...do you live here Myndie?" He asked in a breathless sort of way.

((I'll let you do her talking Komoku ^-^))
