Lenore took the payment and threw it into a drawer full of this and that and the other thing. Years worth of savings and doodads sat in there, all thanks to never needing to order fabric or barter for anything but buttons and buckles.
And that was only because there was no town blacksmith.
"Sir? Is there anything else?"

“I Take it you’re not going to tall me then?” He asked an amused look danced across his face. “I understand, dare thee not inform a new comer of the old ways, for he should cast ye all aside at one point or another” His voice was teasing. “You need me measurements?” He asked and looked away, back to the wall of fabrics.

Istas back away a little when the door opened, not out of fear but respect; the woman in front of her had seen more years than Istas could even fathom and that was something that was to be respected. She looked the woman over a little, it still surprised Istas that this woman never aged, yes Istas knew she was a vampire, but seeing a woman once a month that hadn't aged since Istas was a girl was unnerving, especially because Istas herself had aged so much. "Good morning ma'am, I'm very sorry to bother you in the morning, but I need to do my rounds to check in with you." Istas stated after bowing slightly. "I hope everything has been going well since I saw you last month." The wind had picked up stronger, rolling the black clouds up onto each other and making the world even darker. Unfortunately the style of uniform that Istas wore wasn't made for staying outside for long periods of time when it was very cold, and the wind was very cold. 'It will probably snow tonight.' Istas thought, trying to hide her shivering from the eyes of the woman in front of her, but failing miserably. ((OOC: Sorry, my internet went down last night before I could post. Snow and satellite internet don't mix well.))

Madeline grinned again, she was used to a certain level of respect from people around here and this human certainly came up to par. Returning the bow, she sighed. "Yes, everything is just as good as it has been. The new flow of people into the town has been beneficial to my... needs." She said, not wanting to go to far into the gory details. Seeing Istas shiver, she smiled her 'nice' smile. This one not showing any teeth and not meant to scare anyone. "Would you like to come in, out of the cold? Or must you go on your rounds?"

Lenore only smiled brightly. 'Somethings not right, a human shouldn't have paid too much attention to that.'
"I assure you I have no idea what you're talking about sir. But you are right, I do need to take measurements. please come this way and step on the stool."
The Fae removed her measuring tape from her neck and waited patiently for the man to do as bid. Hopefully he wouldn't make any lewd comments or continue on about the village's magically inclined inhabitants.

Istas was glad to hear that there were no issues for the vampire, she wasn't sure she would know how to deal with any problems this being could possibly have; from what her master told Istas before, there had never been a problem with the vampire, Istas hoped it would stay that way. "I'm so glad to hear that." Istas beamed, it meant that there was one less problem that she had to deal with. "Well most of it, she added as an after thought, I haven't heard of any deaths thus far or disappearances, other than Elenore, so I'm assuming you haven't killed anyone. Istas added as an afterthought, more to herself than the vampire before her. "I'd love to take you up on your offer, but with the new people, you never know if they're human or not. Thank you though." Istas beamed again, offered a bow and walked over Xue whom stood impatiently to the side. Istas mounted and bowed her head to the vampire on last time before she took off into the wind. 'I've got to go back to town, find that blasted werewolf and check up with Lenore, and if I know that wolf he'll have pestered her already." Istas thought as she pushed Xue to go faster so they could beat the rains. The ride to town was fairly quick and after that is was only a few moments more until she reached the tailor's shop. Dismounting, she walked into the shop talking immediate notice of the person she'd never seen before. Her gut told her he wasn't human, but she really wished he was, he was kind of cute. "Hello there," Istas said as she walked up to stand next to the man, "You must be one of the newcomers. I'm Istas, resident defender. Should you need anything let me know, I know everyone in town and am more than willing to help."

James shrugged and stepped lightly onto the stool. "Is it a trade secret then?" He asked, already knowing that he would get no answer. "I'm sorry, what was your name? I’m horrible at such things. Please forgive me." He shook his head and looked up at the ceiling. He hoped that she had not already given her name because if she had he surly was a dunce. He rolled his eyes and waiting for her smart reply. She was very good at not understanding what he was asking.

"Good morning Istas," Lenore said, dragging out a small stool to sit on. "How's the day? Cold isn't it?"
The stool was of untreated oak, though it was a bit heavy and normally had a cushion on it so she could put her feet up in front of the fire after she closed the shop. Which she'd hoped to close early today, though it didn't look like that would happen anytime soon, not with the traffic she had coming through. Very briefly, her mind wandered to what she was going to eat tonight, go hunting for some butterflies and ladybugs in the forest later, or have some mead and stay inside where it was warm. She may be a darker sort of Fae, but she wasn't impervious to the cold.
"If you're looking for Dante he's already been through," she grunted coming to a stop before her customer. Standing up straight she smoothed out her apron and pulled her hair into a bun. "Several times in fact, I sent him towards his fathers house with a package. Which reminds me, how is the trial coming along?"

Dante was deep in the forest, far from the village hunting. Hunting was somthing Dante liked to do, when he needed to get away. "Alright where are you?" He said looking around, as he gripped his hunting knife. He saw a wolf, and smiled putting his knife away, "Hey little guy." Dante said, "Come here, come here." He added, as the wolf began to walk toward's him. He pet the wolf, then let it go, making his long journey back to the village. Along the way Dante looked up at the sky, thinking how beautiful it was.

James felt annoyed that he was being treated like a mannequin and his questions were not being answered. He listened closely to their conversation and picked up mention of a trial. "A trial?" He asked looking to the new woman who had just walked in. "Oh, I'm Sorry I have not even introduced myself yet." He bowed as best her could from his perch on the stool. "My name is James Darcy, It's a pleaser to meet you miss..." He waited to hear her name. She was a beautiful woman and he would not mind getting to know her a little bit better.

Madeline chuckled slightly at Istas's polite refusal. She had asked every defender to come into her home at least once. Every single one had said no thank you or some other variation of the phrase. "Farewell..." She said, and just before she turned to go inside, she also offered a small bow. With a wave of her hand, the same servant that had opened the door earlier, closed it. Sighing and laying down on a leather couch, she rubbed her temples and planned out the rest of the day. She was planning to feed today, it was such a perfect day. No sunlight, loud winds. If the easiest prey was still awake, no one would hear the scream. She was still annoyed -408 years later- that she was not allowed to kill, only to drink. These humans frustrated her. Do they stop a wolf from biting? A bear from mauling? No. So why should they stop me? "Oh, well..." She muttered to herself. Standing up, she ran up the stairs to her room and changed into more practical clothes. Instead of a black gown made by the town's own seamstress Lenore, to leather boots, black long pants, and a tight leather shirt all under a thin green cloak. Laying the snake on to the thin, underused bed before heading back towards the door.
=-=-=-=-=Twenty Minutes Later=-=-=-=-=
Walking along the borders of the small town, Madeline made sure her hood was pushed over her head. The town was noisier than usual, probably because there were more people. Finally reaching the road that led into town, she took it. The last thing Madeline needed was to be accused of sneaking around in peoples' backyards. Sniffing the air, she smelled the irony, almost salty scent of the human blood she craved so much. Walking forward, a gust of wind brought emphasis on a specific human, this was her chance. Running forward, she closed in on what she had smelled. "Damn..." She swore to herself. It was a guard, and he was standing out in the open, this was not someone she could drink from, and now she was in the middle of the street. A few woman who had been chatting while watching their kids play tag in the middle of the street now called those same children to their arms. Thwarted, Madeline darted into the shadow of a nearby house and sighed. Now that she had exposed herself to the smell of humans, she was even thirstier, but she would need to wait for a couple hours until the people who had seen her in the street believed she was gone. Sitting down beside the small home, she began to wait.

"Oh! yes sir, I'm sorry," Lenore said with a light laugh. "Lenore Taylor, the pleasure is mine."
She placed one end of the tape at James' waist and ran it to just below his knee before marking down the measurement in the language of the Fae. As she did this she continued to speak.
"Yes a trial, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it," she admitted. "Mrs. Norris' grandson susposedly killed Elenoir Black, she used to work at the Feisty Goat Tavern. Then again the body hasn't been found yet."
Lenore Had just finished taking his waist measurements and knealt before him again as she continued talking, preptake her customer's inseam. Putting the end of the tape at Jame's knee, she ran it up to his groin.
"Oh I wonder what she'll look like when you find her Istas. I don't fancy smelling that mess, or seeing it." She switched to measure his other inseam before continuing. "This means i'll have to make a burial shroud doesn't it? You know she's not alive."
Continuing to mark in the language of Fae, she rose to stand and handed her pad to James. "Hold this while I get your back?"
((If you wanted to, you could make a remark about having lost or weight. You're a fae right? So you should be able to read Fae.))

James took the pad and looked it over. He frowned when he saw that she had measured his height shorter than he was. "I think you made a mistake." He put his thumb tail just below the leg measurement. "I'm taller than that." He looked a little confused, with such fine materials you would think that she would know how to use a tape measure. And James hated have short clothing because it meant he would have to be short to wear it.

"What?" Lenore asked annoyed, standing on tiptoe and peering around his shoulder. "I took those mea...sure..ments..."
Lenore blinked for a minute, finally understanding it. He was like her, albeit a male, but he was of her kind. Letting out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding, she looked at the paper again before twittering at him.
"That's a five not a three, and a seven, not a one. My handwriting is a bit messy you know!"
Se pulled his hand over just a bit and took great care to write her next measuremnt in very neat writing.
"Is that better?" She asked sweetly, "because you are that big around in the middle. Though you shoulders make up for it, they're certainly broad enough."

James smirked, "I kind of like my broad shoulders." he said and stuck out his chest. "They make me feel so masculine." he chuckled a deep and rough laugh. He watched as she wrote down more measurements. "Much better, I can actually read it now." He looked into her eyes with his own dark mysterious ones. Even though he had no intentions of not paying for his suit, he thought that he could have some fun if he chose to not pay.
