I was thinking about during a guild update and i dont know if anyone already mentioned it but here i go:
MASS BANNING um well i was thinking more like the way you send messages in multiples.... i was sending messages with some bannings i was doing yesterday it was the same message to everyone notifying ppl why they were being banned and also informing of when they could try to re-join if they wish to (we are going through every one who does not participate or has 0 posts)
so i think that it would be nice if we did not have to do bans one by one

That would be great too, though it should be limited to either the captain and maybe VCs - since there is a huge potential for disaster if some one makes a mistake.

I know I already said this but it's worth repeating. From personal experience when things aren't going so well in a guild. "Mass" anything should be Captain only, or Captain and VC only. Too much can go wrong with a push of a button to give everyone that control. Though I agree that it would be wonderful to have the ability to do so.

For getting and keeping members, what if we could replace the current listing of subforums with an image, then designate areas on the image as links to each subforum.
This would allow RP guilds to have an actual and meaningful map to navigate the guild with, and non RP guilds could just have a fancier header. All gaia would need to provide is a wysiwyg interface to place the link zones.

Have the subforums list on every subforum, but make it collapsable like forum pulse. I hate having to click back into the main forum, then wait for it to load before I can go into another subforum. >.>;

User groups within guilds.
I remember back when I first got into guilds the members page contained the online/offline block, and I think that would be really nice to have back; but I also understand why it was taken down, guilds are pretty huge and that feature didn't seem to work quite right for a long time. with however many people per page, that is a lot of volatile data fields to look up.
To cut down on how much is getting looked up, as well as other reasons we should have user groups. With broad purpose community guilds, such as those for art, RP, specific topics, or learning, it would be extremely useful if users, as in non-crew, could come together and create their own officially tracked group.
User groups would need a modest set of features, a listing page, a members+generic info page, and a simple membership control interface. In that respect I suggest it be set up exactly the same as guild membership is, and kept identical with the changes we all hope will come out now that the ball is rolling.
User groups should be able to associate their group with threads , mostly just as a thread index, but maybe let authoritative members of the group share rights over threads.
But mostly you'd have one page that you can go to and see who's online, instead of having to find everybody's posts

I'd like to be able to disable certain aspects of a post on a thread by thread basis. In example, in structure posts of a guild it looks bad to have signatures all over the place, the current solution is to disable the signature on a post by post basis but even here we have stuctured threads that go on till the third page depth, if you could disable sigs for the entire thread it would be easier. Maybe your guild has a help thread, if it's highly active then it would be benificial if you could disable sigs, emoticons, and certain bits of BBCode to force people to leave off their autoformating, making the page load faster and making it easier for people to scan for information I would group BBCode into three sets that could be disabled individually, text formatting: , , , , , and Imagery and media: " style='float:right' />" style='float:left' />" />Quote: , , [url], [list]
Instead of just ignoring the code it would be best if the code was stripped out, it'd make understanding better.
For the most generic help threads the only thing you really want people posting is their problem, text and imagery groups usually will just get in the way so if it were mine I would disallow them; quote, code, and url can be useful in clarifying issues so they would stay. This way everybody is posting in the same, highly legible font, without autoformatting such as that used by GamesTesterJan in a post above this, resulting in a more uniform thread that is easier to understand quickly since you don't have to deal with posts differently on a visual level. Nothing gaia can do about grammar and spelling though
Many upper class RPs demand that you not use an image in a character sheet, so it would be useful if you could disable imagery for that thread, then you don't have to deal with it at all.
Beyond that two suggestions to this suggestion, make an option to only apply the limit to the first page or first X pages, and put a notice on the Post a Reply page as to what limits the post being written is under; maybe make it so preview automatically strips the post.
