I had just gotten done with my fave manga of all time Alice 19th and was going through a bit of a withdrawal as to what manga I should get next. I wanted to start off with one that had just been released because it's just too hard to catch up with mangas that have 5 or more volumes out by the time you get to them. This led me to pick up xxxHolic which was on the new books table at Borders. It was by CLAMP (duh) who had done my first manga Cardcaptor Sakura. I flipped through it, but wasn't too interested until I got to the last page where low and behold Sakura and Syaoran were! I flipped out. Why the hell were they here? What were they doing? Had my dream of crossover manga come true? I hit the main manga section and there was Tsubasa 1 which I bought instantly. To tell the truth I was a little disappointed and slightly confused with it. The characters had the same names and the possibility of my fave CCS character Tomoyo having a bigger role loomed in my hopes, but over all I wasn't sure that I wanted to continue with the series. That's when my beloved Animerica (Ra rest its soul) gave it a 5 star review. Since Animerica had never led me astray in its recommened manga/anime I decided to stick with it and let me tell you, I sure as hell am happy that I did. It's one of my current fave mangas along with Red River (if you haven't checked this one out you need to. It's fabulous!). And that ladies and germs is my very long encounter with Tsubasa.

My friend and I have always been huge CCS fans, and one day we were checking out a website our other friend had made. There was this one page on it that was about different anime she liked, and at the bottom she mentioned some manga that were really good. We just couldn't stop staring at this one labled "Tsubasa"...The two people on the cover looked WAY too much like Sakura and Syaoran for it too be coincidence! Literally the next day, we somehow brought the topic up at lunch, about how the people on the cover of that manga looked just like Sakura and Syaoran(from CCS, which our friend, who made the website, had never read) and she was like "huh? they are Sakura and Syaoran"

That's how I found out about Tsubasa, how I got the first couple volumes is an entirely different story sweatdrop

I was in a bookstore. And I just saw it right there. I was with an anime-freak-friend of mine (no, really. She's incredibly possessedAHEMImeanobsessed) and she told me about it when I picked it up. I only wanted it cause I love seeing Sakura and Syaoran together. heart *SQUEE*

Since then, I've corrupted all my friends. *lol* My sister and I just got the seventh volume today! crying SOOOOO Happy! I hate how everything comes to us much later than everybody else....

But yeah. That's how it all began. xxxHolic actually took longer for me to like, but now it's my all-time favorite. xd Imagine that.

Funny story ...

Okay so I was at Chapters and I saw this book with two people on it that looked like Syaoran and Sakura only older and I was like "Hey that looks like Syaoran and Sakura ... only older confused ... oh well." And I walked away. THEN I went to another book store a Few months later and I saw the same book, I picked it up, read the back and i was like "Odd how come I've never seen this book before?" And I bought it.

The End domokun

Ah.. the day I learned about Tsubasa.. it only seems like a few months ago..

Oh wait, it was.

I remember very clearly how I came across it. I was roleplaying with my long-term online Wolf's Rain roleplaying partner, and that was when I discovered it. We were taking a small break from the roleplay, and we were discussing the mangas and animes we liked. I asked her what her favorite manga was, and she told me it was a tie between Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles and Alice 19th. At first I wasn't interested in either of them, since we had different tastes in manga.

And then it happened.

I was in the bookstore, Borders, taking a break from shopping for some new clothes, and I happened to stumble in the graphic novels section. My dad had told me that I could get one book, so I decided to get a manga and get hooked on a new series. I was extremely disappointed when I found out that most of the manga there didn't catch my attention at all. I was about to just get the latest volume of Fruits Basket, but something caught my eye. And then, I saw it. On the bottom shelf was Tsubasa. I flipped through the pages of the first volume and I saw him.. Fai D. Flowright. He was just adorable! ^o^ Unlike most people who only got hooked on Tsubasa because of Syaoran and Sakura, I got hooked on it because of Fai. And Chi (I was a Chobits fanatic at the time so I was really excited when I saw Chi in it). In fact, I've never read or even seen CSS, though I had seen Sakura and Syaoran in magazines, websites and such..

So there. I got hooked on Tsubasa because of Fai and Chi.

Hey...Mad Writer-san, Alice 19th is one of my favorites...erm, maybe?

Regardless, on May 25, 2005 me and me comrades were in the mall, and we went into the bookstore. Oooh, I know you weren't expecting that. There were some manga on the display shelf, and one comrade made an offhand statement that the people on the cover of Tsubasa looked like Sakura and Syaoran (moi!) from CCS. I just glanced at it, and said yeah, it's by CLAMP, so it's probably different people just drawn the same way. However, one week later, I was looking up CCS stuff and found 'Older Syaoran and Sakura'. And don't ya know...it was Tsubasa! So, I went on a mad rave and went questing for it, finally ending with purchase on June 10 (that was the day there was a really bad lightning storm, and I was hiding under the covers reading it. 3nodding ) . I got so obbsessed with it!! But then D'Nan Gel came into the picture, and my obsession died down to a pleasant fondness for the series, which contiunes on to this day.

How did I know the exact dates? My super secret writey book knows all. mrgreen

Ah...the first day I even heard of Tsubasa.
That was a morning at school, way way back in September...of 2005. XD; My good friend, Ellie (a manga-fanatic) was reading it...and I asked her about it. After she just mentioned Sakura and Syaoran, I wanted to read it...and I have loved it every volume through.
She's my only friend who's read it, however, so sadly it's the only person I can really talk to about it. =/ Well, not anymore that I have everyone here. ;D
Once I get her to join Gaia I'm going to tell her about this guild...she'll probably go crazy with joy. I mean, she even plans to make Fai's outfit and cosplay him (or maybe Yue O_o) one day. XD She's totally insane.
Anyways, that's my story. O_o
