Mr.Baudelaire do you think Mr. Baudelaire(he, he, me!) is still alive? He has to be. Being that one of the parents is alive and Beatrice being dead.

bluecelebi Mr.Baudelaire do you think Mr. Baudelaire(he, he, me!) is still alive? He has to be. Being that one of the parents is alive and Beatrice being dead. No.... It's been said that there might be a survivor of the fire. Might, clearly, might no confirmation already. Survivor, not 'one of the parents may have survived' it may have been someone else... The fire, not 'The Baudelaire fire' it may have been the Quagmire fire. Quigley damnit. Quigley actually at one point in the Slippery Slope 'That's because I did survive.' Or something similiar. In summation, it might be the Baudelaire parents, but it's just as likely to be someone else.

This may sound a little mean, but I don't really want either of the parents to be alive... I've just gotten so used to them being the Baudelaire orphans that it would almost be a little dissapointing.

Because in The Hostile Hospital when the orphans find pg. 13 of the file, there's a picture of four people: the Baudelaire parents, Jacques Snicket, and someone with their face covered. And we all know that Lemony's face is always hidden in pictures of him. So I just assumed that it was Lemony that survived the fire. Might that be correct?

I suppose it's always possible, I've just never heard anything about him ever being in a fire. None of his siblings died in a fire, but his parents might have or something along those lines.

dionquints I may have the answer. Just for kicks, one time, I anagrammed the whole list of names in The Hostile Hospital to see if there were any other Baudelaires. And to my eek shock, one of the names did. It turned out to be Beatrice Baudelaire. Coincedence? Which one? And i'm still waiting for the answer about the actual proof in the biography. Please, the sentence.

( But since I'll supposedly be snowed in for the next two days, I think I'll find it soon.)

Well, I'm sure that whoever she was, all will be revealed in Book 13 as well as all the other starnge mysteries like the Snicket file and the whereabouts of Mr. & Mrs. Baudelaire.
