Kouyo sets his half-empty bowl aside and leans into Setsushi's arms. He knew his friend would never intentionally hurt him for any reason, and never as badly as humans had. Kouyo could always forgive him.
He also promises that he is not crying because of anything Setsushi said.
But... for now, Kouyo is very tired. Perhaps they should sleep sooner rather than later.
In the morning, maybe Setsushi can accompany Kouyo to the bookstore if he wishes? To speak to Kumoru or to Mister Whitestone, if the latter decides to show himself?

Setsushi pets Kouyo's hair soothingly, then nods. Kouyo can start making his bed, then. They'll make a plan in the morning, and then Setsushi and Kouyo can set out together, if that is what they decide.
Kouyo can set up his bed while Setsushi cleans. Does he know where to find the blankets...?

Kouyo thinks he remembers. He stands reluctantly and goes to fetch the blankets.
... Also, if Setsushi does not think him childish for asking, perhaps the warrior can help Kouyo tie up his hair in the morning like he is going to battle? The priest will need his long hair out of his way for the work he is to be doing. And maybe having his friend help him prepare will lend him at least a bit more confidence for when he has to go back to that dark, small, dirty room in which Mister Whitestone could apparently corner him at any moment.

Certainly, Setsushi will do that for Kouyo. ... ... ... If Kouyo will trim off Setsushi's split ends?
... And perhaps Setsushi can teach Kouyo some emergency self-defense techniques? gonk

Sure, that sounds like a fair trade to Kouyo. Hopefully it will be alright if Kouyo borrows Setsushi's brush, as he just realized he left his along with the rest of his things at Kumoru's home.
And yes, self-defense sounds like a wonderful idea gonk

Ummm... if Kouyo doesn't mind a brush that's been through someone else's hair...
And then tomorrow Setsushi will teach Kouyo about pressure points. gonk
