Eulalia Danae
Laurel Talbot

Laurel looked up, straight at the the woman. The light didn't bother her at all, even after several days of darkness. "I have not been harmed or mistreated, just left alone with my memories." She shivered. "They are not good memories."

"Then let's find you a place where those memories can't reach you." The matron gave her head a small nod towards the door. "Come on, Laurel." Although in the shadow, the matron's features would be familiar to Laurel. Erica hadn't changed too drastically over the centuries, though a thin scar sliced across the bridge of her three-freckled nose. "How long have you been in here?" She asked, moving away from the cell, expecting Laurel to follow her out. "And were you brought here alone?"

Laurel's eyes widened as she recognized her "aunt". Still, she spoke formally, "No, ma'am. My cousin was with me. She was taken away three days ago, I think, while I was asleep."

Erica paused in her steps, turning around to look at Laurel. "Cousin? What cousin?"

Tu gave Ghost a gentle kick to the side. "Seriously need to get you sober, kid."

((Since ED said this place has kicked up and I'm in an RPin' mood, I'm posting as Hattie. We'll just assume that she left Earth with her own Crew, most likely to find Cale and agains Eric's or anyone's better judgment. O.o I can delete this if it conflicts with plans.))

Never being one for for being subtle, Hattie made her war into the bar, her wild hair still died Pink lemonade and streaked with white. Her dreds were now gathered up in two separate piles on either side of her head in piggy-tails. Her clothes were stained with dirt and grease and the kimono sleeves of her top were in shreds. A tall, silent, blue-ish man walked behind her, his eyes never leaving her.

She made her way to the bar and took a seat. "Ginger-ale, my good man." She giggled. Sigil stood stiffly behind her.

Durendal nodded.
"Yeah, it was just us two."

With the Matron, Xeen stood next to her, dark and silent. He took to following her almost everywhere, as if he might loose her for another five hundred years. All that was left was finding his daughter, and stopping the Kore. As well as any other strange assignments that Cassandra had in mind.

Pen's face fell for a slight fraction but she quickly hid it, her focus moving to glance at a section of the bar. "I'm guessing you haven't heard anything on Shanra."

Tu chuckled, "I take it you must be special." She crouched down next to ghost and offered him her hand.

Erica paused in her steps, turning around to look at Laurel. "Cousin? What cousin?"
"Her name is Ora, ma'am. She was attempting to arrange an audience with you when we were captured."
Laurel wanted to say so much more, to throw her arms around Erica...but this place wasn't safe. If Erica was the Matron, the fewer people who knew of their connection, the safer they both would be.

Durendal shook his head.
"He went with Eric. My guess s that they plan on coming back with help. I'm pretty sure Eric wouldn't let himself get caught, especially not with how fast his ride is."

Lori came in quietly, no fuss, a regular. Ghost was making a fool of himself again, comic relief to the nearest table of talkers. The rest of the bar was its usual self and provided a dull roar to cover anything said. She took an empty seat at the bar, ordered a hard lemonade with fresh cherry juice on the rocks, and struck up a typically meaningless conversation with the guy next to her. As usual, he had his complaints to air, and she made the right noises at the appropriate times.

Xeen never left his wife's side. Not that Lori was surprised, but she had no one else to hang with and every reason not to make new friends. Between that and the events she had missed while taking the gray woman to Uyslm, Lori was really, really... lonely. It was frustrating, being so close to this war without being able to help or get away. All she could do is take it with her usual calm serenity and wait for the situation to change.

Sean stopped his preamble of bitching, then shook his head.
"Of course, I could have said that the Matron's husband, that Soltari guy, was hunting for as many skilled pilots that this planet had, and that would have gotten your attention, as opposed to bitching about how I wasn't able to contribute.." Sean waved his hand, ordering himself and Lori another round, "I'm looking for some people to help me out. As it turns out, I'm a fine captain, and have a few ships, but I'm nowhere near as solid of a pilot as Soltari'd like. You're a spacer, by the look of it. Care to help out?

Hattie sipped her Ginger ale and looked about with a sigh. The repairs on her ship was taking forever, but that was what she got for picking fire-fights on an ill-equipped ship. She still hadn't let Eric spruce up her 'ride' but she knew she really should let him...

"Sure," Lori replied, sipping slowly. "It's not like I'm fond of Soltari, or I might take up on that one myself." If this conversation ever got back to Xeen, she knew he'd laugh. "What'd ya have in mind, Cap'n?"
