Active mods in each subforum!
Have the mods host monthly/bi-monthly events to encourage activity (nothing that would take too much time, but is still easily participated in-- the art subforum had great ideas, but I don't have time to do that stuff when I'm in school)

Ythan II In the past 24 hours I've thought of having applicants answer some question. Something irrelevant but that would have them typing a lot. As humorous as the front page is I'm not really sure if that's the right impression.

Also, start moving threads.
There's lots of people talking about Left4Dead, or posting pictures, or whatever in the main forum.
If you want to talk about games-- go to the subforum for it.

That forum is inactive as hell, and people post stuff like that in the main forum anyways.
So yeah, maybe getting rid of it would be good.
But what would we replace it with?

Ythan II I don't think Ent needs to exist, but that's a valid option. If nothing better comes up maybe that's something we could try. It's hardly pointless when you're posting anyway.

Subforums thoughts: Entertainment sub-forum should not be left there. Not used nearly enough. At the very least, move threads into it that are about these things.
Perhaps that the elections are over the politics thing should be removed or at least changed. So that all serious current events, whether or not they're political, could fall into that subforum.
No modcave.

No modcave. Everything is political, esp. current events. We're not getting rid of the modcave. We struggle to find excuses for subforums as it is why would we make more hassle? Plus it's probably the most active one there.
