I have one of those too! ^^ I love it. It fits wherever I need it. I also have two bigger notebooks that hold things like character biographies, time lines, notes to myself on what to add or change, pieces of stories, and the like.

Nah... they love me too much. Otherwise, they'd've killed me and run off to another person by now!
I have recently cleaned out my supply of notebooks/random-pieces-of-completely-scribbled-on-paper and found some pretty cool stuff. I'm always collecting my receipts for two reason: they make great bookmarks, and they make great scribbling places. I used to have a big three-ring binder for story stuff... then it got filled up with school stuff... oh well, enough story is written on everything that I really wonder what my math teacher thinks of me...

I've been shifting them out of the notebooks to put on one of my websites .. it's been live since 2004 at least heh .. I switched over my side-website to have it be for books only this last year.. but I still link into the character stats xD;
I have them all on text documents too on the computer just incase ^^; I got more organized lol so I can keep track of all the characters ..
I used to just write in the back of my notebooks at school xD; probably why my grades sucked .. instead of paying attention with the lectures I was writing scenes for my books and random stories lol..

I have a website somewhere to store things, but it fell into disuse a long time ago. Everything on it is old, anyway. I prefer notebooks and Word documents.
I am working on getting at the very least my notes transferred and my character profiles done, then the plan is to send those in for copyright, so I have legal rights over my story pieces until it gets put together. I need to do it soon; if I get hired after I graduate at the end of this year/beginning of next year, and I get those copyrighted, any company I work for after college will be unable to touch it, and shoot the whole "intellectual property" thing to hell, at least with this story, and these characters.

Yeah..
We might have 'intellectual copyright' but in practical terms it never really works out .. hm, can you let me know how that goes? I have some works that have been pending for.. well since around 2002 .. but the liklihood of me getting to them in any short amount of time is rather not going to happen -sweatdrop-
And I'm afraid of going to work under a company or selling my stories due to that.. well thing rather like making a complete different character under your name.. and not paying you a dime for using your ideas

You can get all your things on a CD (or a few), get a copyright document (I have to find the website again, but I have it written in one of my notebooks), pay a $45 fee, and get everything on the disk(s) you send in all at once. When you go to the post office, they should have some special green copyright slips (it is kind of thick, like thin cardboard). Get one and put it in the envelope/parcel with your copyright document and disks. Nine months later, they send you the slip back with the copyright information on it. It holds up in court and proves that the content is yours.
If anything, I will simply not touch my story while I am under contract, but if I have that green slip, they cannot do anything or touch me so long as the date on the slip is before the date on the contract.
And thank you. I actually have been doing much better at actually writing things down. ^^ So, soon enough, I will have my notes, time line, and character profiles done at the very least, and hopefully some pieces of the actual story.

-cocks head to the side- Hm.. I think I kind of understand what you mean.. I know for my books I get a special letter sent to me.. I have 5 I'm still waiting for to make it through the process though (should be coming in like March) but I've never tried to copyright on my own .. going through the company I'm 'with' sucks because they used to never do anything about making sure the copyright for the illustrations was marked as well so mine are messed up.. but some is better than none so I'm not making more of a fuss so that things won't get screwed up more.
Ah, working under another company.. learning about that bit with the green slip and contracts makes me feel a little better.. still I think I'd rather have them buy the story then buy my time for writing it.. never sell your characters though, cause then they can screw with them as much as they want and not let you know or pay you a cent for using them. I learned that and am very fearful of it..

In any case, a friend of mine forever ruined/improved REPO! The Genetic Opera for me. She pointed out some of the characters are a lot like mine, so now I cannot watch/listen to it without thinking of my characters.

Ah yes, I have such strict standards about my work .. I'll make it virtual hell for those who try to pick it up xD;; I don't mean to be though.. I just want to have it be true to the story

In all actuality, it makes me laugh. I did the same thing with Sweeney Todd. In fact, I found three different ways I could warp it using my own characters. But in all seriousness, she just randomly IM-ed me one day.
Friend: You know what I realized? W Character = Rotti, X Character = Nathan, Y Character = Blind Mag, and Z Character = Shilo. [Insert reasons and comparisons here].
Me: ZOMG SO TRUE.

So, some of the songs are really funny when I hear them now, when compared to my canon. I always find it amusing when I can make these kind of comparisons to media I like, since it kind of shows who I am, what kinds of characters stick to me, what themes I enjoy, and the common links in all my fandoms. Then again, I play psychoanalyst with everything I do.

Hm, I've now seen a few glimpses for that .. movie? they just say 'available now -insert title-' which is annoying.. it's only like three seconds, but I suppose the main gist is the title

Repo! The Genetic Opera is basically a rock opera-turned-movie. The main gist for it is pretty much sometime in the future (2056? I think. Way ahead of us, anyway), a major organ failure epidemic hit the whole world, and a company called GeneCo basically saved the human race by making designer organs and allowing their patients to finance them. However, if you are ninety days late on your payments, they send the Repo man after you to repossess their organs. Why yes, it is legalized murder!
As one of the songs goes:
"Say that you once bought a heart or new corneas
But somehow never managed to square away your debts
He won't bother to write or to phone you
He'll just rip the still-beating heart from your chest!"
Of course, there are at least three subplots too...it comes out on DVD today. Maybe you can rent it.
