Carlie's jaw dropped slightly, but she recovered quickly.
"I... I dunno. I figured it was the same energy that got you and Mom. I dunno where she is. And... I dunno about the Sanctum, we went to that... Latveria, I think it was called? Saw a huge monster right out of a bad 1950s B-movie stomping around, and then a Blue Lantern girl went over to him and calmed him down." she said, rubbing the back of her neck.

Hal stared at her and blinked. ".....oh." he replied. "Um....I....okay. I've, uh, I've been up here around the satellite and moon base the entire time."

If Carlie were a part of some odd cartoon, there would have been a question mark above her head that popped in from thin air with a quacking noise to announce its appearance, but that did not happen. Carlie had a quizzical look on her face, though.
"But... you were with us..." Carlie said, pointing vaguely to Earth while staring at her father.

Hal frowned, then sighed and rubbed the back of his head. "He....he didn't tell you?" he asked uneasily. "I stayed here to take care of Hector. I seen a light coming towards earth and went to go investigate it. When I did, I found...well...." he began uneasily. "....your real dad. The time warp or whatever reversed his age, but...he knew more about you than I did."

Carlie's eyes widened, and she just stared, unsure of what to think.

Hal was quiet for a moment, shifted awkwardly, then turned to head out of the room. "I need to head back to check on Hector. You might want to call your mother and talk to her. I really have no idea what's going on."

Carlie opened her mouth, and closed it. Her father, from her time, was here? So... there were two Hals here? Which one would she spend time with? And what would Carol do?
Carlie looked down, frowning in thought, and then she went over to Hal and hugged him around the middle, placing her head on his shoulder.
"I love you, Daddy," she said softly, meekly, like a little girl would do when she was sad or otherwise upset.

Hal stopped walking and froze as Carlie hugged him. He blinked, then turned his head around to look at her. "......Carlie? Are you alright?" he asked.

"Not really, Daddy. I'm scared, and confused, and I don't know what I'm going to do," she admitted.
"I dunno where to start, really. And... hearing that the version of you I grew up with is around while the present you is around too... I feel bad. I dunno which version of you I want to spend time with, really..."

Hal smiled gently at her. "It's alright C.J.Don't worry about hurting my feelings if you want to be with your dad. With everything that's going on, you might feel better being with someone who's been with you longer than I have."

"But... you are my daddy. Just a past version of him," Carlie replied, a small frown on her face.

Hal gave her a small smile, then turned around to face her. He hugged her reassuringly. "I mean it's alright if you want to spend more time with the version that knows you better than I do. It's not going to hurt my feelings. And it might make you feel more comfortable if you're really starting to feel the pressure of everything."

"Thanks, Daddy..." she said a bit softly, before kissing his cheek. "I love you," she said again.

Carlie sniffled a bit, holding back tears, but she smiled.
"Thanks, Daddy," she said softly, before pulling away and kissing his cheek.
"Um... I... guess I'll head back to Earth now..." she said. "Can you... help mefind my way out here?"
