MegaTherion777 My Hollow How many times did you listen? i have given stam1na three tries, because i know you usually have good suggestions, but i still can NOT dig what they do Oh well. We have very different tastes. I LOVE and ADORE Draugsang, you hate them.

It was you, you were the one that I was talking to that night. oh, THAT band. as i recall, i did not use the word "hate." i said that they were okay, that they were good to listen to but not good enough to pay money for. then i said that most 3rd wave was just crappy darkthrone worship, and at least they were better than that... if i remember correctly, they reminded me vaguely of burzum, but i might be thinking of a different band altogether, i need to check them out again before i can confirm this.

I dislike bad quality Black Metal, but to most Black Metal fans I've talked to it seems that when a Black Metal band actually gets some good recordings they are "selling out" what a bunch of ******** bullshit.

Yeah, I can't stand most BM fans. I set high standards in black metal, and thus don't listen to a lot. Crappy recordings are good when you're handing out a demo outside a concert, but seriously, it doesn't make you cool.

well most of the darkthrone worshippers put out deliberately shitty-quality stuff. as does darkthrone, actually.
i have no problem with low quality if you can't afford something better - that's part of what made emperor so good, because even though they couldnt afford good quality recordings, they still managed to get that dark atmosphere on tape. but nowadays, when even the cheapest recording system will give you at least fair quality, the deliberatley poor quality releases are just stagnating the genre
