That fries my theory, I've always had other thoughts about the bunny.
I personally thought that the bunny was auctully Komiyou(sp?), since the way that he always talks to it, as if it was him half the time.
I also thought that he had managed this for a good reason, because if we remember, from the Kami arc, That Kami had the ability to turn people's souls into stuffed animals, and who else would he learn it from but his master? And Ukoku was nearby when Komiyou died, So I've always thought the bunny was him.
Oh well.... *Throws theory down the drain*
