You would think that Erik would have been in school, considering his age. Nope. He didn't give a care in the world. He preferred a daily mix of shootouts and assassination. People would be shocked to hear this, but wouldn't be too shocked once they had learned his history. He had converted his grandparents home into a sort of office, where he met with people who required his services as a Cleaner of the Human Gene Pool. just as he had finished his morning coffee, the phone rang. Guess who it was? The school office. He let the machine take it. Thank God for technology he thought as he listened to the annoying ringing and then the school's message. "Hello, this is-" Erik walked over to the machine and hit mute. The calls came daily, and he was sick of them. He once even considered faking his own death just to get them to shut the H up, but that would have put a damper in his business. The phone rang again, but this time, it was one of his contacts. This time, he picked up. "Rachetdude speaking." He always used his screen name, in case the call was tapped. "hey Rachet, I was calling because i may have found out something about your parents..." Erik snorted. "You know I don't care about finding them." "This isn't about finding them." Erik's eyes widened. "What do you mean?" The voice on the other end grew quiet. "I just found out today, but... they're dead, bro." Erik hung up. There was no response to that. His parents had disappeared 4 years ago, but he never cared about finding them. How long had they been dead, but he had never cared about finding out? He went to his room, after locking the house up, and simply cried away.

Kikyo listened for a few minutes and then realized how behind she had become.
Wow! I missed a lot of stuff. Maybe I should come to school once a week. She thought.

Kikyo looked up at Rin and cocked her head to the side.
I wonder...Hey Rin. Can you hear me? She thought, wondering if Rin was reading her mind or if she was just noticing that she was there.

After a few minutes of crying, Erik walked back out into the "living room". In truth, it was more like a waiting room, but Erik still called it that. He got a call, from the same guy. "Rachet speaking." "Hey man, I'm sorry for telling you about that..." "Nah, it was needed. I couldn't live forever not knowing what happened." "Well, how are you feeling?" Before Erik could get the words out of his mouth, his phone gave a beep, which signaled him to the fact that he was getting another call. "Sorry man. Someone on another line." "Oh. Well, talk to you later." Erik hit the "CallerID" button in order to find who called during his little chat. It wasn't the school, or one of his contacts, so maybe someone calling for his services as the "Cleaner of the Gene-Pool"? Erik hit Redial, and after 2 rings, he got someone. "Hello?" "Rachet speaking. You rang?" "Oh yes, I had heard that your the one to come to if you need a...questionable job done." "Will this job feature assassinations and shootouts?" "Assassinations if done right, shootouts if done wrong." "No matter the job, I do it perfectly." "Good. I need you to take someone out..." Erik studied the voice. It seemed like a 17 year-old. Why would someone that age need a mercenary? "Hello?" Erik snapped back to reality. "Sorry, mind wandering. What did you say?" "I said I needed you to take out a guy named Willie Maxado. You can find him at the abandoned theme park down by the docks." "Let me guess. He's your father. So let's drop the pretenses, Broken One." "How did you know?" "Actually, I didn't, but that last comment of yours told me everything I needed. Anyway, I'll do it." "Name your price." "500$." "That's a lot." "Hey, I got contacts to pay, food to buy, a roof to keep over my head. Business is slow, so I need some cash." "Oh, actually, I can pay much more, but I just wanted to see if you would lower your price." Erik laughed. "There isn't a negotiating technique on Earth that will work on me, son. I'll contact you after the job's done."

Erik had taken a speedboat and "docked" it at the old wooden platform near the old park. It had fallen into disrepair, and Erik had never suspected that people lived here. Just one reason it made the perfect hiding place. Erik managed to find a way up to the pier, and walked over to the Main Gate. A guard walked out of the shadows and said "Invitation Only, Cracker-a**." Erik smiled. "How do you know my a** is white when I'm wearing this cloak?" "Because I can see your face. The hood don't do a good job when you're looking right through it. What's your name, white boy?" "Names are for friends. So I don't need one." He looked at the gate, and figured that the holes in between the chain links were wide enough for his arm to get through. He reached his arm through the gate, grabbed the pathetic excuse for a gangster, and tried to pull him through the gate. Hard. Multiple times. It opened the gate, luckily enough, and Erik walked through the gate. He decided to kick the now-unconscious gangster in the head for good measure. Erik made his way through the Gift Shop, the only building that could be walked through, and found two guards waiting at the end. He summoned his Fire Claw, walked up to the window, punched through and clawed the two gangsters apart. Erik then walked to the office, where he found the man he was supposed to kill. "Hello there. I believe you are Willie Maxado. I was sent here by your son." Willie's face paled. "I know why you're here then. Please know, I didn't want to leave him. I was forced-" "That will be enough, Willie." Erik turned around. There was a cloaked individual standing in the doorway. He held a gun. "Looks like I have you cornered, Erik. I get to kill off a legend!" Erik smiled, leaped forward, and ripped the man's throat out with his Fire Claw. "Bub, you're a mess." Erik said as the man's heart drove the life from his body. It was Erik's preferred kill style. One swipe and they would do the rest. Willie's face paled more. "Please, don't kill me! That man forced me to, I had to come with him to lead the gang that now operates here, or he would have killed me!" Erik studied the man. He was a pitiful excuse of a man, obviously easily manipulated. "Listen. I don't normally do this, but I'm going to leave. I don't feel like killing someone who still has a chance at life. Most of the people I kill are crime lords or gang leaders. Your only crime was being pitifully easy to manipulate. Go home. Find your son. And if he asks why you returned, tell him that God's Angel of Death gave you another chance."

Erik noticed someone walking outside the office. He decided now would be a great time to warn said person about the gang here. He jumped out of the window, landing in front of the girl. "Don't go further. There's a gang that operates here. They decided an abandoned amusement park would make a great base."
