Veshengo's face was soon covered in a rosey blush, "Uh...um...no...not...really" He bit his lip and looked at the ground. "Those are some interesting items...let's go closer." He tugged her arm with his elbow and moved closer to the fire, not even bothering to be inconspicuous as he usually was.

Gwynna snorted. Veshengo didn't seem the sort to embarrass so easily. She trailed along behind him.

"Valelldia?..." Veshengo took a deep breath and stopped blushing, "Valelldia...I need to speak with you..." He gestured to the box in his hands and then to Gwynna. "It's quite important...I don't mean to pull you away...but I really need you" He walked up to her, "Can we speak in your wagon please?"

Mirela had seated herself quietly on one of the logs that surrounded the charred remains of what had once been a great fire. Her sapphire eyes sparkled in amazement as she watched the gifts being handed out. Each one seemed more amazing the the last, and all of them were far grander then anything she had ever layed her eyes upon.
This was the first time since she had joined the gathering, that she had seen everyone together, and watching everyone's joy and excitement the dark mood that had lingered upon her began to fade. Mirela herself didn't expect there to be a gift for her, but it didn't seem to bother her. The sense of family was the only gift that she needed.

Valleldia nodded to Veshengo, giving her bags to Oq and allowing herself to be drawn out of the circle. Oqaia picked up the cue, and pulled out a bundle wrapped in brown leather for Mirela- the gypsy who had only just introduced herself to Val, it seemed.
"We brought back something for all," Oq explained. "I don't know how Val always knows... but she's... well, just like that," she laughed before explaining what was in the bundle.
"They're fans..." for indeed, they seemed just like plain, brown feathered fans. "But Val says that if you can get someone other than yours permission for a drop of blood on them, you can use them... to fly, until the blood dries." Another bit of grey magic, probably, Oq decided.

Veshengo walked with Val to Whistle Stick and allowed her to go inside first, then he followed her in. "I bring a message...and gifts...from your mother." He found a place to sit in the wagon and continued on. "it is quite the complicated story...but, for now, i will just say that your mother had helped me...and for that I am repaying her by giving you protection and being watchful over this caravan." He lowered his head, remembering what a failed job he did during their trip into Mulden.
Taking a deep breath, he lifted the box, handing it to her. "This is from your mother...the contents are...well...they are my kind. She has asked me to give them to you for safe keeping."

Mirela gingerly took the offered gift, staring at the bundle with an open mouth. She wasn't entirely sure which she found more surprising, the fact that Val seemed to know of her arrival or that fact that she was giving such a gift to someone who had only just joined the caravan.
Gently, her fingers ran along the fans. Although they seemed to lack the same coloured flare as the others gifts, to Mirela they were the most exquisite things that she had ever seen. Raising her gaze to Oq, she listened attentivly as it was explained to her the power that the fans possessed.
Regainig her compusure, a embrassed blush crept up Mirela's cheeks. "Thankyou" she beamed at Oq, still stunned at all that she seemed to be receiving today.

Gwynna smiled shyly at Val and followed the two the her wagon. She sat quietly, not really knowing what was going on. She rearranged her skirts, wishing her undergarments were a bit drier.

Caroline watches the gift-giving. "Hmm," she says to her daoughter. "I wonder what's in that bag for us." Rojiza chitters excitedly over the prospect of another bauble for her collection. "This gift will be useful, though, querida," she says. "Not just another trinket for you." She tweaks Rojiza's nose fondly, sending the latter into spasms of chattery giggles.

Val took the box... without a word, it seemed- for none were coming to her mind. Her mother? She'd not seen her mother since...
She looked up at Veshengo, and the newcomer. "Thank you," she said, her voice low and even. "This means... a great deal to me. And I accept your debt of service, although please- travel with us as a friend, and not as a protector. The burden of that... is too great." Val said this with a meaningful, sad look at the dark man, before she gave a small smile to the woman, fidgeting in her skirts.
"And you... you are? Well," she said, before the woman had a chance to answer, "in any case, I hope you decide to stay with us. And to come outside... surely, there is a gift for you in those sacks, as well." She winked, and placed a hand on her arm comfortingly.
In the meantime, Oq had turned to the gypsy with the squirrel- like infant.
"Your gift is in the bottom..." she said, still staring at the infant as she dug. She'd never before seen something as wonderful and as magical as these strange, amazing children- and she was transfixed. To believe that she could belong in this world... she was struck with awe and happiness.
"Here it is," she said, finally drawing out a pair of white bridles decked with pinpoint bells. "They're... nymph bells," Oq explained, drawing the term out of her mind, from when Val had explained the contents of the sacks to her. "Val said that you had a certain way with bells... and these bridles, when hooked over an animal, will allow you to speak with them. The sound of the bells draws understanding to your ears and theirs. But after you've used them three times, you will be unable to understand humans for an entire day."

Gwynna smiled, instantly at ease. "Gwynna. Gwynna Chirilo, formerly of the Sheulan Woods and.. elsewhere. I was rather hoping you'd allow me to join you," she admitted.

"Oh, how delightful!" Exclaims Caroline, truly pleased. "It is good that these gifts all have repercussions. To totally depend on magic would be dreadful." She smiles at Oq. "I'm Caroline, by the way. This is Rojiza. Say hello, my little magpie," she says to the squirrel-child, who is currently totally enthralled by the bells. Caroline offers Rojiza to Oq. "Would you like to hold her? She's very friendly, if overly active." Indeed, Rojiza thrashes her arms and legs in midair, giggling in delight.

Vesh bowed his head to Valelldia, "Yes...I was hoping you would welcome Gwynna...she is in need of travelling companions. And who better to travel with then you, I say." He smiled and stood up, "Is there possibly a gift for me as well? If I am to be more of a member, I should think I deserve something" He flashed Val a smile, "We must talk later...in private...personal things" Nodding his head to Val and Gwynna, He left the wagon and joined the others outside.

Anezka wiggled for a moment on the ground where Leshya'e had placed her. "Vah...yep...hehehe" She clapped her hands at all the gift giving, then flopped forward onto her hands and knees. Crawling and shuffling through the dirt, she went right up to oqaia, poking at her and gesturing at the bag, as if to ask "Is there something in there for me?" Leshya'e just laughed and waited for Oqaia's reaction to Ani.

Marissa recieved her gift with short breath. It was like Val was inside her head... Marissa was a gardener back in her homeland, an art taught to her by her grandparents, and before joining the caravan it was a way of life.
Sadly, as long as she was a part of the travelling band she couldn't keep any gardens of her own, (aside a budding herb patch in one of her old imported romanian cake-pans) because as everyone knew, plants took time...
Not these. She was ovejoyed beyond words, and simply hugged Val. She knew it was probably silly, but the nurserytend in her couldn't resist.
However, she had a job, now. She didn't want to waste any more of her time before she set off on her quest to kill a dark creature. She had to hurry, for Kale's sake. Picking up her box, peroxide, and fox, she made her way swiftly towards her PhoenixSong.
[And I'm gonna set up my own private thread for this- Em, if you were seriously wanting to help me, that's be aweesome- just pop on in. ;D]
