Okay- how about this: he dumped his clothes off for weight, but they still needed to get rid of more weight so he got the short straw?

Here's the complete thing:
A man is in a hot-air balloon with his friend. They are dropping quickly, and will crash into a cliff if they don't lose weight. They strip and throw their clothes out, but they keep losing height. So they draw straws. He gets the short straw, and so must leap with the parachute. Unfortunately, the parachute doesn't open, and the man dies a horible death after falling hundreds of feet. His friend survives, so that's okay. :p
anyone for any more?

Tachi and LordNeuf mentioned a hot air balloon, you mentioned a parachute. You got the fact he had a short straw, and the fact he is naked. ("...dumped his clothes off for weight, but they still needed to get rid of more weight so he got the short straw?")
And you've got it. As a whole. Lol.

Lol.
Okie dokie.
Brad stared through the dirty soot-smeared window on the 22nd floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression he slid the window open and jumped through it. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he landed he was completely unhurt. Since there was nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how could he have survived the fall?

That's an easy one with the extra descriptive words- if not, I wouldn't have had any clue. xp
Hopefully window washer who fell into the building? You even specified it was a sheer drop "outside."

A man steps into his trailer. He looks at a stick which is lying ont he floor, and goes to kill himslef. Why did the sight of this stick lead him to suicide?

Ok here's one for DP
A man is sitting on a train smoking a cigar, the woman sitting across from him has a teacup poodle in her lap. The woman waves her hand across her face and then says
"Excuse me sir, your cigar is bothering my little mittens. Can you please put that out?"
"Sorry man, you bought a ticket for the smoking section and I paid way to much for this cigar for you to tell me to snuff it. I'm going to sit here and enjoy it."
The woman, not liking that answer reaches across the cabin, grabs the cigar and throws it out the window.
The man in turn then reaches over, grabs the tea cup poodle and throws it out the window.
"MY MITTENS!" the woman yells as she reaches for the emergency stop.
The train grinds to a halt, the woman runs outside to find her dog, and she finds her dog, safe and sound, curiously sniffing something lying on the ground.
What... is the dog sniffing at?
