"Yeah, yeah, ok. Did you get your fill? We need to find your real mother."

"I could send scouts around us so we don't waste time walking too much. I already have, haven't heard back from them. We should probably wait."

"... I am NOT waiting on some spiders to come reporting back to you. We go."

Cygnus sighed and shook his head. That lion had a lot to learn.

Cygnus was grinning at Aidan the whole time he ran around. He wiggled his ears at him and snapped his tail backwards to try to get it to whap at Aidan as well, though it fell short with the cub up at his neck like that.

But it was Grinch who answered first, "Get off of him! What if the spiders bite you? They're not safe! They're not worth knowing! Spiders are better off d---"

"Don't you say it!" Cygnus turned with a growl to Grinch, "All that nonsense! The eight-leggers are the lions of the little world, and worth all the respect a fellow lion is given. They are marvelous creatures, and will not bite unless they are frightened. Or insulted." He was looking reproachfully at Grinch on that note, "Nor will they bite a friend of mine. Like Aidan."

Cygnus tried to look up at Aidan, head tilted back, but missed doing so entirely. By this time, a few spiders had spilled from Cygnus' somewhat cob-webbed fur onto Aidan's paws. Some spiders seemed surprised to find themselves there, immediately jumping off. Some sat there stone-still. Others ran around, while still others hopped up a bit, though none of them actually crawled too far up Aidan's leg, the furthest one just an inch above his ankle.

"Can you hear them?" Cygnus asked, "Some of them say hello.

"Bother," Grinch grumbled, standing now to start back on the journey again. He was definitely sulking as he did so, but did not challenge the spider-infested lion again.

Cygnus tilted his head, making some clicking sounds. After a moment he beamed back at Aidan, "They say that they like you and they hope their new home will be near you." He chuckled, "Which would be by my new home too, I presume." He winked, "What do you say, would you like that?"

"He would not!" Grinch growled. "Spiders are nasty, evil creatures that will make a place look bad and hurt you and make you sick! You come down there right now!"

Cygnus flicked an ear back in Grinch's direction, but otherwise opted for totally ignoring the grouchy other one.

"The only nice spider is a---" He looked at Cygnus then sighed, shaking his head, "Well, I've been wrong before, but I do not like them, Aidan. I do not like them at all. They're creepy and make nasty webs and can kill you before you even see one. I don't like them." He shook his head, "Or lions that bring them near to harm you." He snuffed at Aidan."

Cygnus frowned at Grinch, looking confused. The other lion had sounded defeated, not like he was threatening him this time. Then he shrugged his shoulders, a half-smile on his face, "They wouldn't harm a friend. These are good little lions. Now, let us go off on our further adventure, shall we?" He winked at Aidan, "What game can we make of it, hmm?"


OOC: =) We can summarize to say that they've been wandering forever and plot to add something interseting that happens to them in the next day or two?

"Well, it's about time," Grinch muttered, "Maybe the stranger has seen your mother. Maybe---" Grinch sent a side-ways look to Cygnus. Grinch still kept a definite distance away from the other one, but at some point he had started to trail off on his unkind words as opposed to barreling right into them.

"We should let the little lions scout ahead first." Cygnus suggested. He himself had started to curb his over-enthusiastic, worry-free attitude around Grinch, as it seemed to put him into a worse temper. Whether it was out of consideration for the other lion or just trying to avoid his snapping wasn't altogether clear.

"Bah, can't be worse than you." Grinch sniffed. "Stay here." He commanded Aidan, then sniffed to go in the direction of the other lion.

He wandered forward until he was in sight, then cleared his throat. "Morning. Are we on your territory?"

Cygnus winked at Aidan, leaning down to whisper to him, "I like that, you watch carefully for me. I'll bet you're good at that."

"We're looking for Harmony, a lioness that is the cub's mother." Grinch looked over to Aidan.

Cygnus smiled and nudged Aidan with his nose ever so slightly toward the other lion, "His name is Aidan. I am Cygnus Araña, and that's Fur Toes."

"My name is Grinch." Grinch grumped, "Do you think you've seen this lioness?"

"And this is Atreyu, and the eight-legger little lions are our friends." Cygnus continued to rattle on, "How are you doing and what are you up to, if I may ask?"

"They are NOT our friends, they could all get stomped for all I care." Grinch continued to grumble, looking back and snapping his head a little to indicate to Aidan that he should get away from Cygnus.
