Armus was startled by Rhea's movements, and her eyes showed it.

"I - no, nothing," she said hastily, flustered. He was the same stage as her now - this was beyond awkward for her. "Um, Kanis ... will be back sometime ... I don't - don't know when ... Corrah was going to ask her about that ..."

She swallowed hard and put one hand on Rhea's arm, pushing his hand gently away from her face. "I should get back," she said quickly, turning and heading back towards the edge of the cliff. "You two take care of yourselves."

And then she was gone.

Aras was completely confused by her trainer's reaction to Rhea's touch. Had she felt the same way Rhea made her feel? Special, loved? A twinge of jealousy streaked through her, and her cheeks flushed slightly. Rhea had promised to be hers, and hers alone - why had he touched Armus that way? Adopted or no, she was his mother, even if he was technically as old as her now - he shouldn't be touching anyone like that except Aras herself!

She turned away from the cliff and headed back towards their sleeping area, in hopes of finding something to eat.

"First we need water," Corrah told Kanis simply. "Always start with water, especially when you're cooking over a fire. I know not everyone does, but we do not have the luxury of technology in these mountains. So come, let us go to the river ... perhaps we should each take a bucket, one to cook with and the other in case of emergency, shall we?"

He smiled softly at her, the scar at the corner of his mouth twisting slightly.

Rhea lowered to all fours to follow his mother towards the edge. Something was really bothering her and he could not tell what. He wanted to help her. She seemed so confused and lost. He was about to ask if the Alpha had done something bad to her. But she ran off.

Lowering his ears he turns towards Aras to watch her walking away in anger. The tenseness of her body and her scent told himself. He moved towards her very worried. "A..arrras...something wrong?" He moved to nuzzle her side with his head. He did not know that he had done wrong and he might have been seducing his mother.

Kanis nods, "Yes sir. I will get two buckets." she said and stood, she walked with her permeant limp to get the buckets. She was glad to help him and to turn away from that smile.

When she got the buckets she moved towards the lake, "I will get the water if...you want to prepare the food sir."

Aras was startled when Rhea nuzzled her side, and she looked over at him and sighed. How could he not know what he had been doing? For that matter, how could he have done what he did? Whether he knew it or not, it didn't change the fact that he had been far too close and far far too personal with his own mother.

And yet how could she accuse him of such a thing?

"Hungry," she said in a husky voice, heading over to where they had some food stores.

Corrah nodded, his smile fading and his face turning expressionless once more. "As you wish," he murmured softly.

He could tell that something was bothering her, but he wasn't quite sure what it was ... he couldn't put his finger on it ... which was something new for him. Usually he was so good at reading people ... Perhaps it would have been better for him to let her return to her own home after all, if she didn't want to be there with him and Armus.

"But if you need any help," he added seriously, "do not hesitate to call me."

Rhea stood, "Arrras what is wrong? Please tell me...you were not so upset before mother showed up." he wrapped her arms around her waist keeping her from going to the food.

"This is more than hunger...Arrras..." he said she had never used such tones with him before. She was worrying him now. What had gone wrong.

Kanis nods, "Yes sir...I will." she said and still un aware of having grown makes her way to the water. She was rather confused. Corrah sheemed to be a bit more worried about her. Surely he did not know that she saw her masters together. Or that she had a large cursh on him.

She lowers down to a stream that fed the lake and filled the two buckets. She tried to steal her mind and heart wail watching the water flow but unlike with her sister...the water was not for her.

It took longer for her to make her way back the added weight of the buckets full of water caused her leg to start to ache.

Aras closed her eyes and tried not to let herself relax into Rhea's arms, the way she wanted so badly to do. His touch was what she wanted, what she needed ... but how could she let herself return to him so easily after what he had just done, even if he hadn't meant it?

"You promised," she whispered, her voice husky now. She kept her eyes closed so that she wouldn't have to look at him, because she knew that if she did she would forgive him without hesitation and he needed to know what he had done, how he had made her feel. "You promised ... you would never touch anyone like that ... no one but me ..."

When Kanis left, Corrah sighed. He had the strangest feeling about her ... that despite how smart she was, there was something that she didn't know. He didn't know if it was because her mind hadn't caught up with her body yet, or if it was simply because she didn't want to realize it ... but she still saw herself as the child she had been the day before.

What could he do about it? he mused. Nothing, really. Should he then continue to treat her as the child she wanted to be?

Possibly. It was probably for the best. If he treated her like the teen she was ... he might start to treat her a little too intimately. She was beautiful ... though he very much doubted that she realized it.

Rhea tilted his head looking confused, "I did not show my mother what I do...I did not touch her at all like I do you...wolves show a bit more physical consurn." his ears were lowered and he slowly lets her go, "I...I am sorry Arrras...I...I wont touch my mom like I did...though I am not sure what I did wrong...And I..I wont do anything to you either." he said and backed away slowly. He was so confused.

Kanis would not get back to the campsite until after Armus returned. Seeing her there she this time was smart enough to make noise to let them know that she was coming back just incase they were doing something.

She set the water down next to the fire. "Here you are sir...welcome back Armus...are we not having training today?" She asked the blonde woman who had Corrah's heart.

By the time Armus returned to Corrah, she had calmed down again, and without a word she moved to help him prepare the breakfast.

"Kanis?" she questioned, noting that the girl was gone.

Corrah nodded towards the river. "Getting water."

"Ah," Armus nodded.

She heard a twig snapping, and realized that Kanis was nearly back. Still, with her sitting and cutting roots, and Corrah kneeling over a fire, there was nothing for them to hide this time.

"Thank you," she said softly in response to Kanis's welcome. But she was surprised by her question. "Training? How? With what? First thing we need to do is make you and the others some weapons that will fit you ... the ones you were using would be much too small for you now!"

The girl was taller than Armus now, what was she even thinking?

Kanis may be taller than Armus now but she was still nearly flat chested. There would hardly be a handful for Corrah if he wanted to try to. "Oh...I see...shall I go get some wood....for them...or will we just be breaking and the three of us kids will have a nice break?" She asked softly still standing waiting to be told what to do.

She nods, "I...don't mind doing it either, I can go and hunt or something wail you make the weapons." she gives her normal small smile to Armus.

She watched Armus more than she did Corrah right now. She knew that he would be just as cold as ever as long as Armus was around.

Armus coughed. Well that would explain a few things ...

"Kanis," she said gently, smiling softly at the girl, "take the day off to rest ... after all, growing takes a toll on any body, and you're no exemption. Come, sit down, we'll get some breakfast for you ... you should take the day off."

Corrah nodded his agreement. "We do appreciate your offer to help," he told her quietly, "but of all days, this is the one where you should rest."

He wondered now - was it a conscious or unconscious decision for her not to realize she had grown? How was it even possible not to know?

Kanis looked confused, "I don't feel like I have grown. But if you say I should rest then I will rest." She moved over to sit down after setting the water down near the fire. She looked at Armus, "Is something worng Armus?" she asked softly and looked at her, "Is there something you need to talk to Corrah about? If so I shall go and wash up if you like." she said softly.

She felt out of place and she could tell something was on Armus' mind. She nods, "I...I will go and wash and take a walk before breakfast to let you two talk." he smiled and stands again.
