Etsu shrugged slightly and looked at Zarah from the corner of her eyes, her face directly mostly forward, "I got to explore a lot, so that was nice, I guess. And I survived, too, having all of the protection of a pride. In that sense, it wasn't the worst option. I would have done worse leaving the pride."

Zarah shifted then relaxed some looking out at the shade of the water. "I also survived... But I did not have the protection of a pride." She stared out at the water. "I just had my sister, that was all. And we also traveled, explored, met a lot of others. It was good. Then we ran into our father, he was protection but we never ran into him until we were older." She chuckled. "Most of the time we were on our own, we didn't even have eachother because of the fact that me and my sister would fight then go our own ways and run into eachother." She looked back at her. "Sorry... I don't mean to make it sound like you don't need your pride." She laughed then stood up and moved closer to the water. Zarah knew she was a little strange but she didn't care.

Etsu shrugged, "It's fine. All lions are different - you were able to survive on your own, as are a lot of others. I prefer pride-life, and probably wouldn't make much of a rogue. I need to know I have a place to return to, no matter what happens." She followed Zarah toward the water, her top looking a bit rumpled from lying in the grass. She took a moment to straighten it, not wanting it to get any strange creases.

Zarah chuckled a bit at her. "I understand." She said simply. She wasn't to sure if she was a pride person or a rough person. She wasn't going to say she was ment for rouge life because the only time she was in a pride was when she was a little cub, and she didn't remember that. She looked at the female as she walked up by herside. She looked foreward again, sticking one of her paws in the water then smirking as she swiped it at Etsu mainly just splashing water on her. Then giving the female a goofy grin.

"Ah!" Etsu winced at she was splashed. She wasn't really sure how to react, but she took a hint by the grin on Zarah's face that she wasn't trying to be mean, so she returned the action with a defiant look on her face, followed by a matching grin.

Zarah chuckled slightly at her expression at first but when she felt water hit her back she jumped but then started to laugh. "Ahahaha." She giggled a bit and then licked some of the water off of her maw before playfully standing up and nipping at her flakes before bumping into her playfully. "So you can play?" She grinned pulling at her flakes once more, but still playful.

Etsu batted at her paw, "I've watched my pride," was her reply, and when she felt another tug at her flakes and bounced back and swatted at her with her tail.

Zarah giggled again but smiled at her. "Really good, I'm glad." She went to move out of the way but got lightly twapped with the other female's tail. She bounced toward the other female then swipped her paw playfully at her. She then ducked to the ground before pouncing on the other female with a large grin.

Etsu grinned, and then suddenly found herself pinned to the ground by Zarah. "Ah!" In defense, she started tugging on her flakes.

Zarah growled playfully at Etsu pulling at her flakes. "Graw. This lump is pretty nice." She went limp a bit, putting dead weight on the other female giggling a bit as she did.

"Gwaaah~" Etsu squealed as more weight was put down on her, and she rolled over to knock Zarah off of her. "Meanie~!" She squirmed in the dirt until she was off of her back, and by now her robe was filthy, and there was dirt and grass matted in her coat. "Ahhh!" she squealed and pouned Zarah, "My robe is all dirty~!!!" It was hard to tell if she was still playing, or really panicking - it seemed like her actions were contradiction her voice.

Zarah broke out into laughter at the word 'meanie'. She was near tears and started to laugh even harder when the other female pounced on her. "And! You seem like your having fun!" She grinned ear to ear and leaned up and nipped at her flakes again.

Etsu shifted her weight so she was pinning her to the ground, and pulled her head up to try to get her flakes out of her reach, sticking her tongue out at the other lioness, "thanks to you," she replied with a grin, then swatted at her face with her tail.

Zarah giggled more at her, she wasn't to sure if that thanks to you was sarcastic or not. She just contiuned to giggle. She wormed around some then tryed to n** at her flakes still, even though she knew it would flail. She sat back her giggles turning into laughter. She hadn't had this much fun in a while. And for some reason she knew that neither did Etsu.

Etsu climbed off of her and shook herself out in an attempt to rid her coat of all of the dirt. She was laughing all the while, and when that stopped, a wide grin remained. She'd never played with another lion before, and even though it took her until she was an adult to do so, it was a lot of fun.
