An afternoon to remember
Carl, the plush eagle, sat quite alone in his room. A soft breeze wafted through the window, causing the curtains to lift in their elegant way and ride upon this vagrant wind of the mighty north. It too caressed he. Unmoving glass eyes stared into the nothingness of the chamber, but his mind was far beyond what lay before him and this nest in which he had been placed. No, while those cobalt eyes stared ever on, he dreamed of lands far away and of hid birth right to soar through the azure sky, and perhaps even above that to claim his rightful place in the heavens so that all might admire his brilliance. The chilled breeze slowly became a frigid wind, caressing over him as though beckoning him rise.

"No more please... you're ruffling my feathers" He spoke to no one. There was no one to speak to anyways, nor could he even talk, but all that escaped the crevice of his beak was a soft, sleepy chirrup to quiet the arrant tendrils of air that snaked through his feathers. This seemed to calm it and he nestled down a little deeper into the ring of twigs and cotton fluff that his owner had constructed for him with her own hand. Not as good as a bird's, but he felt a sense of security when sleeping in it so he didn't mind the occasional twig sticking him at an odd angle. He got comfortable once more before heaving a small sigh and preparing to sleep once more.

Wait though...breath? Had he just? He lazily opened one eye, then the other, and cast down his gaze to his chest where just now the very faintest traces of a dull thud could be felt within. No longer did he have a thin layer of fluff upon his body, but feathers! One and then two and then three more began sprouting and sprouting until there just didn't seem to be room anymore. This spread like wildfire over him and within seconds when it all seemed to simply burst into an explosion of nothing more than feathers he lifted one wing in disbelief and stared.
He had come to life!

As anyone could imagine, Carl was overjoyed at his new found movement. Sleep was quickly forgotten and he took his first awkward steps upon ferociously clawed feet. Hop-skip Hop-skip Hop-thud! He'd become a little over excited and had his talon snagged within a cotton fiber, causing him to pitch forth out over the nest and onto the shelf on which it sat. Nothing but his pride had been bruised, and he glared down at his feet as though warning them not to make a mistake again or they would be severely punished.

For an hour Carl practiced, getting his odd gait as perfect as a bird "his size" would get upon a flat surface, spreading his wings and giving lusty cries as he slowly rose into the air and made the journey from one side of the room to the other until he could do so without tire, and most important of all...he preened his feathers, so he looked as marvelous as his new found skills made him. Donna would surely be pleased...

Speaking of which where was Donna?

Down the hall, behind a slightly ajar door, and beneath a mass of covers Donna lay. She was dead asleep, leaving only a bottle of Nyquil and milk to hint what had brought her to this untimely demise of slumber. That morning she'd woken up with a head cold and decided that while her lover took care of Celtic, and Maxine was out fishing, she'd get well by treating herself with a small n** into the medicine cabinet. With some difficulty Carl climbed up the peach orchard quilt and waded his way up to the front of the bed where he could see shimmering tresses of crimson laid askew over the pillow. Surely those of his mother figure. "Mother, wake up! You must see this!" Again, without the properly attuned ear, it sounded nothing more than one of those sounds you hear come out of the electrical relaxation fountains, causing Donna only to snerk as she shifted her body beneath him and buried her face into the pillow to silence whatever it was. Carl persisted, after having "log rolled" over the woman, by launching himself into the air and landing quite near her head where he began to gently peck with unrelenting pace.

Peck peck peck peck! "Mmm...I'll be up in a sec maxi...stop hittin' me" eck peck peck peck! "Stop!" Donna reached up a hand and made to grab Maxine, her cat, by the scruff of the neck and haul her across the room but only managed to snatch at the bed sheets where she began to pull, with all the might of an annoyed cat owner, until finally they snapped around her (for she'd been wrapped in them like a cocoon) and sent her rolling over the side of the bed with a loud thud of a** meeting floor.

Donna was now fully awake and glared, if this was possible still closed eyes, at her "cat" which she assumed to be the cause of said mischief. "Oh I'm going to get you for that you ungrateful lump of mange covered batteries! C`mere you!" She lunged up at the bed and this time hit home as her hand wrapped around Carl and brought him quite close to her face. He squawked in undignified manner and struggled within her grasp for a moment before he found himself staring into her "eyes". "Now you listen to me Maxine, I" She paused and opened one eye to make herself look more assertive, but snapped the other open almost immediately as she realized it was not the spiteful cat she'd swiped up but instead a tiny bird who now looked officially freaked out by her behavior.

Donna blinked. Carl blinked. Both Donna and Carl blinked at one another. It was hard to grasp for a moment, but she loosened her hold and gently set him down on the quilt. Carl warily began preening his feathers back into place, while trying his best to keep an eye on his mother. She was acting stranger today. Donna timidly reached out a finger and set it on top of his beak causing him to freeze; he waited to see what she would do this time, but was pleasantly surprised when she ran her fingertip down the top curve of his beak in an affectionate manner. He left off cleaning himself and craned his neck for more, confirming her belief in his identity and bringing a slow, almost stricken dumb smile to her face.

It was moments like these she'd remember...and moments like these that made her proud to be even a small part of the magic that had brought him to life.

Welcome to the Family Carl...

Sin Velez
Sin slid into the quiet shoppe that was apparently still open despite the impending holidays, and opened her coat, revealing a rather large spider clinging to her. She reached up to remove him, and headed for the counter, looking around curiously...

No, no one...no one but her it seemed.

She set Lusiphur down on the counter, and moved to lean on it. She figured he might want to re-acquaint himself with the place of his origin...

Lusiphur 'looked' around for a moment, staying quite still, but rubbing his two front legs together gingerly...one could almost imagine he was rubbing his hands together, plotting.

Donna the Vixen
The door opened once more, allowing passage evermore to a woman and bird into the store with tendrils of wind curling about the floor. Now the door did close behind the two, blocking the chill from whence did it issue, and to whose identity belonged these few? Why Donna and Carl looking for something to do!

Donna stepped in sharp with hidden features, furr curling about her blushing face, while Carl soared among the creatures, to meet yet another Velvet in this place. A woman he spied with features fair, whom to had sought refuge in this cold, and upon the shelf a spider there, which company he sought as he landed bold.-ly besides.

That doesn't rhyme. O_O

Sin Velez
Sin glanced up as the door opened...and smiled. Well! Another Velvet owner...this was refreshing - and it was a bird? Oh dear...if not for Lusiphur's size, she might have feared for him! But she didn't...and she smiled.

"Hello..."

Lusiphur stared, and then scattered away from the hawk as it landed...what few hairs were on his body stood on end, and his front arms raised defensively...checking out this other creature he knew to be both like and unlike himself...

Donna the Vixen
Donna came forth and looked around, her feet treading floor without a sound, and her suprise surely did abound as another owner she had found. She came closer and gave a smile, ignoring the massive spider for a while, and promptly got introduction through as she extended her hand and stated "How do you do? My name is Donna and it's a pleasure to meet you."

Now Carl was a different kind, who took little notice to defensive stance, and as such hopped despite the bind, in his odd little hop-skip dance. The spider was certainly something new, and up in his regal stature he drew, as though mildly stating "I'm Carl, and you? I've never seen anything like you." Nothing was said, he merely cocked his head, his feathers flattening sleek and true, cobalt optics shimmering there as though questioning his existance to be true.

Sin Velez
Turning, Sin gave a gentle dip of a bow. "Sin...the pleasure's all mine." She glanced to the two animals, curiously. "And your...hawk, is it?"

Luse took his defensive a moment longer, before determining that this creature wasn't going to hurt him...and he put his legs down, tapping one quietly on the countertop. He approached cautiously...and inspected this animal of feather, flesh and bone...without tactile contact, of course...he was merely curious.

Donna the Vixen
She shook her head and allowed the smile upon her pallid features to broaden some. "He's a Harpy Eagle, and I'm assuming you own the um..spider" It was odvious that she had some apprehension to the rather large arachnid that sat quite so close by the two of them, not that it was any fault of the innocent spider's, but she was never very fond of things with more eyes than she cared to count. Donna decided that it would be best not to aggitate said creature, and turned to address it in hopes of appeasing it's mighty fanged person. "Hello there Mr. Spider?" Her tone wasn't hopeful.

Carl was quite comfortable though. He too was curious of the other Velvet, as it was of him, and leaned in just a bit closer for a better view of what had un-nerved his mother. Strange thing...He didn't see why she was afraid. It was only a, what did they call it? Ah yes. It was a Spyder.

FullMetal666
Slowly walking into the small eerie shop a man covered in dark ominous shadows as he moved about, his long smooth dark purple and black hair covered what was visable from his pale white face. Frosted black orbs looked from under the jungle of hair, pale lips curved up in a small wicked smile as he stood within the shop now. Black thick net top lay upon the upper torso following down the pale arms and around in hands in net gloves. Pale balck jeans placed on his legs as he moved his head to the side to look at the two there also in the small shop. One was known, Donna. The other he might learn in time.

Sin Velez
Lusiphur took notice of the ...harpy eagle, he heard, though he did not understand what weight those words carried...he seemed to nod to the creature, before turning around slowly on his eight legs to face it's...owner? Mother-figure? He did not understand how relationships like that worked quiet yet either...

He raised an arm, as if in greeting - he had seen his own caretaker do that to her own friends...

Sin smiled. "Harpy Eagle...funny. I always thought harpies were creature of legend; I never imagined there was an actual animal named similar to them. A spider, yes - for the record, a funnel web spider...he doesn't bite. Well, not me at least...only insects..."

She glanced up as another entered the shop, and nodded politely.

Donna the Vixen
Donna could not help but to feel comforted by the spider's aknowledgement of her greeting. A serene calm just sort of snuck in from somewhere, perhaps from the spider's wave? Yes, she believed that was it, and feeling much better for it she very gently took the offered leg and shook it in sign of her pleasure before releasing him and turning her attentions back to Sin. "You have a very polite spider, Sin. Carl hasn't exactly learned the traditional hand shake yet...although I suppose he can't help it seeing as he has no hands..." She gave an apologetic pat to her eagle's head. "Harpy eagles were named for the creatures of legend, simply because they're the largest species, but that's about the only connection."

What was she talking about? He had plenty in common to things of legend! Well...he would if he knew exactly what that was...but it sounded big and important enough for him to assume that role, and he puffed up his feathers as though attempting to look three times his normal size.

FullMetal666
He saw the one woman notice him, although it seemed as his friend had not, he just barely shook his head a smile appearing upon his face for once as he did. Slowly he raised his hand and gave a small wave to the one he didn't know of, then letting his pale hand fall to his side once more he turned his head over to his friend he had known for quiet some time. Through good and bad times, but mostly bad he had known her and finally came to pay her a vist to where she spent most of her time that he had been told of.

He stepped forward out of the shadows that were surounding his body, he just stared at Donna for a moment before allowing his pale lips to open and speak a few words. "Hello Donna....." he whispered lightly but enough for anyone inside to hear. His voice was cold and soothing down to the last letter in each word.

Sin Velez
Lusiphur was surprised at the 'handshake', but took it as it came...then put his arm down, and skittered carefully across the countertop to be by his caretaker...looking around for a place he might go...to watch...though for now, this was good as any...

"Oooh...that's quite a pedegree to live up to..." She smiled at the eagle. "Either way, he sure seems proud of it..." Pausing, she blinked, and looked back to Donna. "Sorry! I ...my spider's name is Lusiphur...I didn't mean to neglect introductions..."

Luuusiphur. That's what she always called him...he rather liked it...

Donna the Vixen
Until this moment, Metal had simply gone without her notice and seemed well enough off to do as he pleased beyond the spectrum of her acknowledgement. However, as the chilling whisper allowed passage to it's icy tendrils upon one's spinal column it was apt for her to bring about her features to fixate those singuine optics within his own which seemed to counter her own. After a moment she lowered her gaze and nodded to him in greeting. "Ello Metal, I didn't fancy I'd see you here." She then turned back to Sin and gestured to the male. "Sin, I'd like to introduce you to my friend Metal. Metal, this is Sin, Lusiphur's owner. By the way Sin, that's quite a clever name for him."

The last comment had seemed to come out of nowhere in regards to the whole thing, but sat well enough within the conversation that she felt no need to further justify the matter.

Sin Velez
"Hello, Metal. Nice to meet you...." She smiled, hoping Donna would give up her Velvet's name sooner or later...she hadn't been introduced, but she was curious...

Lusiphur took the 'plunge' so to speak, and slowly started to climb up his caretaker's back, so he could balance himself on her shoulder, and watch the preceedings.

FullMetal666
He spoke once more to the woman he just found out her name. "Hello Sin...the pleasure is mine.." he smiled two pearl white fangs appeared from his pale lips as he did. Then he finally took the time to look at both of them. Donna's pet had became more then a plush now, it was actually a animal now. It seemed the Sin had a spider cawling upon her back to her shoulder, knowing full well its not nice to bother others about there own business and pets, he stayed shut as the spider crawled on her back. He then turned back to Donna and just nodded to her. "How have you been...Carls gotten...well animalized...?"

((Ish animalized even a word...oh well...new word XD))

Donna the Vixen
"Yes, Carl has got very erm animalized...But I digress, I haven't even propperly introduced him to Sin have I?" She set down a gloved arm and Carl instintively slimbed up onto the leathered perch of sorts. He was then lifted into better veiw among them and Donna cleared her throat before going on. "Sin, I'd like to introduce Carl Arnaud Boaz Austin."

Sin Velez
"Ooou, he sounds like royalty!" Sin bowed to the Harpy Eagle. "It is good to meet you, Carl..." She offered the bird her finger; knowing he might not be very gentle with it...

Lusiphur observed...

Donna the Vixen
Carl brimmed at the compliments recieved, while he was not familiar with every term of this royalty thing he was greatly pleased with the display of respect unto his person. Donna withdrew her arm a bit further so that he might be a little farther from said finger. She was not taking any chance of him perhaps thinking this was means of food and it was ok to bite. Despite her attempt, he scuttled down her arm until she could do no more and he leaned closer to the extended appendage for a better look.

Carl cocked his head to the left. Carl cocked his head to the right. He leaned forth slowly and traced the pallid flesh with his singuine pools of tinted cobalt, before opening his beak and taking the tip of the finger into it and gently exerting little pressure onto the flesh to assure himself of just what the other woman's intent was.

Donna watched him closely to ensure no injury was to be sustained from his curiousoty, and while doing so she tried to stop the swelling of his head from said compliment. "While he is very special to me, Carl isn't royalty. His name does mean that though...Carl means strong one, Arnaud means King of Eagles, Boaz means strong and swift, and Austin was my grandfather's last name. He passed away this summer and I decided to name Carl after him. His name simply being Carl Austin."

Sin Velez
"A meaningful name...Lusiphur has none like that...but he is special to me nontheless..."

She did not flinch, when Carl took a n** of her finger...but did reach up, keeping her hand fully in Carl's view, and reached to touch his head gently, if he would so allow her...

Meaning...meaning...meaning meant...to have...something. Hmmm...

Donna the Vixen
This woman. She seems nice like my mother, and has good eyes to see my specialness. I'm not fond of her taste yet though...I believe I shan't sample her flesh feather again, but now what is it she means by extending her wing towards me?

Carl had since then released the "flesh feather" of his mother's new aquaintance, and now had taken great fascination in just what the female was about to do. The slow movement made him slightly anxious, and his talons shifted slightly to distance himself from just about whatever was about to happen.

Donna took notice of her "child's" nervous take to Sin's gentle pat, and extended her own hand so that she might gently stroke down his chest feathers to calm him. This seemed to work and he stayed quite still now and only took it upon himself to throw a questioning glance at the spyder as though asking "Just what is she about to do?"

Sin Velez
The spider...seemed to understand, and brought it's two front legs up, rubbing them together gently...touch! It was something his caretaker had no lack of, in cases of him, and he did not mind in the least...something about touch was inherantly pleasant...at least, he had not felt any bad touch...

Sin stroked Carl's head and neck gently. "He really is adorable," she said, before taking her hand away slowly; she was always taught, and always believed that sudden, jerky movements around animals that were a stranger to you were...well, they could get you hurt, to say the least!

"Unfortunately, the shoppe seems empty...n.n; Must be the holidays."

Yume Keraun
-Even with the shop seeming empty a bundled up figure enter. No sooner had the door shut an equally bundled up figure dropped down and ran into the middle of the room.- Jeez, its cold. -The first bundled figure, hood pulled back to reveal a rather weary looking Yume.-

*Trea pulled off the beautifull red velvet hooded coat Yume had gotten her and tossed it on the floor.* But today was so much fun! *the little cheeks seemed reddened by the cold weather but her eyes were so much brighter.*

Donna the Vixen
Carl caught the spider's drift, and allowed the woman to do as she pleased for the moment. It was soon over and he seemed calmer for the whole thing, a smile (or whatever one might call that expression birds make when pleased) traced his beak a soft chirrup of content emanated from within his tiny structure.

Ah. That is over. It wasn't as bad as I'd expected, she only wanted to preen me!That was nice of her. But I'll do my own preening thank you very much. I don't need preening since my feathers are so sleek.

While no one could hear the eagle's silent monologue, it was evident that he was pleased about something or other. As long as he didn't bite anyone Donna didn't particularly mind his mood and allowed him to his own devices while she continued thier conversation with a bit of lilt herself since compliments of her bird were dearly appreciated.

"Thank you very much Sin, I'm very proud of Carl, as I'm sure you're proud of your marvelous Lusiphur. He's quite the intelligent spider if I do say so myself...and I'm guessing your right about the Holidays. I haven't seen anyone around her for a while now, escept you."

Sin Velez
Sin cleared her voice slightly, and smiled. "Well...speak of the devil..." She nodded politely to Yume. "Hello there!"

Lusiphur put his arms down, and observed quietly this new one...he smelled something...familiar?

Yume Keraun
-Yume chuckled a bit and began to pull of the cool garments that showed just how cold it was where she came from.- Hello everyone. It is lovely to see some more animals. Sin, its been a long time since I saw you in here. ((if ever but for now, we can pretend she did at least once))

*Trea noticed only the eagle at first. She ran over to him* Hello! You were stuffed like out thanksgiving turkey last time I saw you! *She smiled, waving to him from her small stature on the floor.* ((i have no idea where he is))

Donna the Vixen
Moose! My moose has come in little coats of red! She has yet to see my marvelous new body, so I shall show her how marvelous it is that I am.

Carl grinned a wicked grin, before bracing himself but for a moment and launching into the air. One, two, three lusty strokes of his powerful wings and he was completely airbourne to do as he pleased upon the new chilling tendrils of wind that had snuck into the shop.

I'm comming Moose!

He lifted higher still into the air before wheeling a sharp left and heading directly for his previously aquainted friend.

This quite suprised Donna, and she gave a soft squeak of dismay, at being pushed back quite so hard, before watching in silent confuzion of just what was happening.

Carl was upon Trea in a thrice. His wings spread wide like the symbol of the heavens itself, before locking to his side to send him hurtling towards the earth below where the gentle Moose he so admired lay in wait for him.

Sin Velez
"It has been some time, hasn't it?"

Sin saw what was happening...but she was either too slow to stop it, or she was too curious to see - eagles ate mice, but - they were both Velvets! That would be cannibalism, wouldn't it?

And what if there was another explination?

Lusiphur hid behind Sin's hair...

Yume Keraun
-Yume saw the bird take of at first thinking nothing of it... then the stuffed bird comment... then he dived! Her eyes widen as she thought of the most horrible things to happen. She tried to movebut her hands were stuck tightly in the jacket and she couldn't even force herself up. When she tried to shout her voice pushed out only air.-

*Trea admired his powerfull flight, the grace and control of his wings... then something else.. He is headed straight for me! Her eyes became that of a deer in headlights.. *

Donna the Vixen
At the moment one might watch as a bloody spectacle befell the mouse, and the talons of a fatal predator wrend her poor body apart, he pulled up from the dive! He swooped up in a dramatically steep turn, flipped his body in a half corkscrew, and then landed squarely beside her in a pose that simply screamed "All hail the eagle!"

Donna had almost died when she'd seen him dive at Trea. Her eyes had widened and she hurtled fowards, in an attempt to catch him before he could strike the child down, only to trip at the last second and wound up about a foot too far to have saved her even if Carl had actually been attacking.

All Hail the Eagle! Aha!! Did you see that?! Moose did you see?! I made all the humans eyes wide and yours...ooo...Your eyes are so shiny! Dear shiny moose! Tears from which are they shiny for? Did my flight bring such beauty as for tears?

Carl hopped a bit closer to his "Moose" and bowed his head so that the blunt part of his beak ran beneath her paw.

Sin Velez
Sin's heart did, momentarily skip a beat...but then returned to normal. "...good technique..."

Lusiphur started to crawl down his caretaker's back...it was something that didn't bother her anymore. He was slow, and careful...trying to observe the mouse and the eagle without letting them know he was there...though that wouldn't necessarily work.

Yume Keraun
-Yume made a loud thud as she finally ate floor. Still tangled in her sweater, she slowly pulled a hand out to brush the trendels of hair from her face.- Oh god... She is ok... not eaten.. -Her heart slowly settled down at this point. She glanced at both Donna and Sin to see how they were. It looked as though Sin was the only one still standing. Her spider as well- Jees he is huge!

*Trea hand landed quite squarly on her butt as he pulled up from his dive. She had missed the corkscrew as her eyes had been fixed straight in attempt to comprehend the fate to fall her. She had seen it on t.v. But then.. what was this? The smooth beak was under her hand. Not around her. She blinked and one tear did fall on her cheek though it went unnoticed by her. She gulped and smiled* I'm alive...

Donna the Vixen
"Ohmygodtreaareyouok?!" Donna had apparently recovered from hitting the floor and now had rushed over to the velvet child and began checking for wounds or anything in result. "Carl I swear if you ever do that again I'm gonna...gonna...I'm...I'm gonna...I'm gonna tie you to this glove so you can't fly without me!" Trea seemed alright, but Carl was a bit stunned to get reprimanded by his mother.

What had he done wrong? He didn't understand. Surely he couldn't have done anything worth this! Moose wasn't hurt from falling on her bottom, and he hadn't broken anything...This was highly unjust and he made his displeasure known by emanating a quiet shriek of indignity. Only the Sin woman had remarked kindly for his abilities...

Donna turned to Yume. "Yume are you ok? I'm so sorry! I didn't think he'd dive Trea like that!" She tried to untangle the woman. "I don't think he means to eat her Yume. Or else I'd be...well...I'd be besides myself if he did!"

Moose...Why are you crying? You're not getting yelled at. Although I'm not sure why I am. Didn't do wrong...I know I didn't! Are you ok Moose? Oh Moose...I'm sorry.

In the meanwhile the spider had indeed gone un-noticed until now, perhaps creeping ever closer still to the scene of mayhem...But Carl eventually picked up on the movements of some creature nearby, and as all the humans went this was much too slow to be they...So it must be spyder.

Carl hoped Spyder wouldn't yell either...

Sin Velez
"Donna, might I ask...what you've been feeding Carl? I mean, if you have been feeding him...meals of the rodent variety?"

"I ask because, if not, he may not realize what he's missing, and...if you don't, he may never..."

She only pointed it out, because it was something she herself had avoided doing...she fed Lusiphur only insects, even though she knew he could catch and kill larger game prey...she didn't want him getting a taste for animals that could hold form in the Velvet shoppe...

Lusiphur watched...and slowly came crawling forward. There was dissention, but it wasn't directed at him...

Yume Keraun
-Yume nodded and with help was untangled and back on her feet.- It's ok Donna.. none of us have dealt much with the prey/predator thing in the shop. Well once but it was Sid and he was a child, while Trea was a mouse. -Yume looked to Trea who was up and seemed ok now. Her eyes were clear and she was smoothing her dress.- His abilities were nice as Sin said....

*Trea was confused as she was quickly assisted, then Carl was being yelled at and her head just seemed to be swimming. Then Carl looked shocked and it was all so chaotic for a few moments.* You scared me Carl. *She told him in a very quite voice so no one else would hear.*

((hello meep))

Donna the Vixen
"Thanks I guess, and again I'm really sorry..." She then turned to Carl, but by the expression on his face she simply didn't have the heart to carry on chastizing him, so instead she too got to her feet and dusted herself off from the fall. Her attentions then turned to the query and she rubbed the back of her head in minor embarrasment to the honest truth of what she'd actually been feeding her bird.

"Well I umm...Well he...He likes Yo Quero Taco Bell...Chicken Quesidillas (sp?)...and Burrito Supreme from Veracrueze..-cough- But I have tried red meet with him!"

Her cheeks flamed a rich array of scarlet marroon, and she could have sank into the earth for feeding her bird other birds at that moment.

Carl looked up at Trea as though confuzed. Had he really frightened her so much that everyone in the shop was so mad at him? How could she possibly be afraid? They'd seen each other before and he was quite fond of his special Moose. Scared she had been though, so he settled down in a pool of his glossy feathers and gently rubbed his head against Trea in apology of his actions. He didn't mean to scare Moose...

Sin Velez
(( Hallo Meepy! ))
Sin smiled. "Well I can't imagine they serve much mouse in places like that...maybe its safe so far then...not that we can really avoid the predator/prey factor..." She trailed off, watching...

Lusiphur continued to creep closer to Trea and Carl, stopping just a foot short of the pair, before pulling his front arms up and rubbing his forearms together gingerly, almost in a nervous fashion.

Yume Keraun
-Yume looked up and blinked- Feeding bird to a bird!? I did that once... but I swear I didn't think it was going to eat it! -She smiled sheepishly, maybe Donna would feel better knowing she wasn't the only one.- Is spicey food ok for him though? -She watched as the spider moved closer.. he could eat Trea too.. the poor girl.-

*Trea wrapped her arms around the birds neck, or however far she could get them. She petted his head nicely. He obviously didn't mean it.* I thought you were going to eat me. *She confessed to him in again, the tiniest of voices. Whether or not he understood was not a factor to her. She then looked to the spider and waved slightly. He seemed aprehensive to join them.* Hello, I'm Trea. In case you don't remember.

D-chan Spiro
((If you insist! xd ))

The bells over the door chimed merrily as a familiar half-fox entered the room, a winged kitsune on her head and a cinnamon bear plush on his back. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" she asked cheerfully, tugging on a long lock of dark-brown hair as she trailed into the sitting area, eyes roving over the walls lined with shelves of plush toys. "Remind me to deck Reno when we get back, okay, Chevy?"

Chevyo chirped, his wings fluttering beneath Minnie's insubstantial plushie weight. He wouldn't mind reminding her of THAT; he couldn't wait to see the red-haired kidnapper get what he deserved. Tiny forepaws kneading at the half-fox's forehead, the tiny guardian yawned, making his mental note as he bared minute fangs.

"Good boy," Dani laughed. "Hello?" she called, peering into the shadowed corners. "Anybody around?"

Donna the Vixen
(( Of course there's room! Sorry for being so late ;o; ))

The bells again chimed in thier festive melody of the season, to announce the arrival of yet another few into the shop. No other was it than Donna and Carl, come yet again for thier frequent visits to the shop, bouncingin from the cold outside and making themselves quite at home. Donna navigated herself to the seating area, bundled in a trailing scarf, and dragged Carl along with, as he'd taken residence upon the scarf's end. A familiar site was soon beheld as they came nearer, and the woman's face came alight with a smile as she rushed over and hugged her friend.

"D-chan~! Long time no see! How've you and Minnie been?"

She has yet to acknowledge me to her friend. Typical. Oh well, I'll announce myself. -ahem- Hello there! I am Carl Arnaud Boaz Austin the First! It is a pleasure to meet you Ms.?

To the unattoned ear of his mother, her child only released a rather prominent screech in order to make his prescience known to the shop and those who dwelled nearby. His pose was an odd one, puffed up to full height and his right wing laid across his chest as though indicating himself to further extent. An all around pose of utmost poise at best...and sold well enough in getting her to use manners and introduce him again.

"Oh, D-chan, I trust you remember Carl? He grew a little since then!"

Meepfur
((*snugs Ciorra* Indded it can.

Squeee. ^^))

Turmali walked quickly down the street towards the Velveteen Toychest, eager to get out of the November chill. Since Iden couldn't go out in the sunlight, however little of it there was, Tori had offered to take Tobler to the shop if he wanted to go during the day, so here they were.

The insulation of the shifter pard's fur against the cold was further helped by a long white skirt, white sweater, and pale blue scarf and boots. One end of her long blue scarf was wrapped around Toby, to help keep the short-furred dog warm as well. Her ears lay flat against her black hair to keep as warm as possible; she should get herself a hat, she supposed, since earmuffs were out of the question for her ear type and position.

As she opened the door to the shop for the first time, she folded her dark wings close against her back to better get through the door. As she did so, one brightly-colored ear perked up to catch the sounds of voices, and the screech of a bird of prey. Was it one of her brother's friends?

The velvet snuggled close to his sister, pretty well bundled up in that lovely warm scarf of hers, although his tail had managed to wag its way out. One of the little white poofballs at the end of the scarf had somehow found its way into his mouth to be gummed at and drooled on...yumm, cotton!

D-chan Spiro
((The spariehs are great for laughs. xd Glad to hear that you'll be dropping in, though! biggrin ))

Dani looks up curiously, ears flicking back and forth to better catch the voice as she turns to face her friend. "Donna?" she chirps, trying to identify the face somewhere behind the scarf. "Hi!" she laughs, waving a dark-furred hand. "How have you been? Minnie and I have been...um...bored."

Chevyo chirps and nods, his head bouncing against the plush's tiny jaw. Bored indeed! The sparieh meadows aren't great, but at least there's space to move around...not like the guest room...the winged kitsune stumbles awkwardly to his feet, leaning first left, then right, to keep Minnie on his back. Yipping curiously, he waves one paw to the woman with the bird on her scarf.

"Oh, have you met Chevy?" the half-fox asks, jerking a thumb in the guardian's direction. "This is Chevyo, one of the Guardians of Gaia that...sort of...watches me. And Minnie. More Minnie than me, I think," she chuckles.

And then there comes the avian screech.

The half-fox jumps three feet into the air, leaping over the couch and ducking out of sight. "That was a bird, wasn't it?" she hisses to Chevyo.

The kitsune chirps, peering over the back of the sofa to watch Carl, poised and fluffed on the end of the scarf. Odd...never before saw a bird do that...of course, the bird looked like a meat muncher, but he'd never seen one so small before--

"Wait, that's Carl?" Dani peeped, jumping up to lean over the back of the couch, sending the kitsune and his plushie passenger flailing and bouncing onto the sofa cushions. "He has grown," she mutters. "Nice to meet you, Carl..."

"...please don't eat me."

And then the bells ring. Thankful for the excuse to get away from the bird (no matter how small, it still has a terrible rending beak that sends a shudder up her spine), she bobs her head and slips off the couch to peer around the corner into the floor. She does not recognize the young woman who enters...but that's no excuse to be impolite.

"Hello, there," she calls. "How are you? Can we help you with anything?"

ciorrawolfmage
((Alrighty...here goes nothing...))

The shop door opened just wide enough to admit a small figure that was mostly obscured by a ragtag assortment of warm clothes. Carefully shutting the door behind her, Ciorra peeled off a few layers of scarves and looked about her. She wasn't entirely certain why she'd come here, except that she had yet to lose her childhood love of stuffed animals...and animals in general. She knew she had passed by this place before, but for some reason she hadn't wanted to stop in...until now. Ciorra smiled a little to herself, looking around at all the different plushies on the shelves. Then she noticed the people...and...creatures. "Oh, umm...hi there everyone. I'm Ciorra." Her gaze traveled around to the various people, then returned to the plushies. "These are called...velvets, right? There's something different about them."

Donna the Vixen
"Yep it's me! And umm...I don't think he'll eat you Dani..."

She then turned her attentions to the Guardian fox-thing, and the dear sweet Minnie that balanced lightly on his back. Or had been anyways. The moment Carl screeched had apparently brought great terror to her good friend and caused quite a stir among them only to result in D's retreat.

Ah but it was not a retreat!

Two others had joined the gathering without notice, and made a rather odd pair of pickled pretty peoples at that! Donna undid her scarf and allowed the rest to flow to the floor in a puddled heap, picking Carl lightly from the thick fabric and setting him down beside the fox and plush, so they might play while she went over to the others.

Carl gave his mother a look of abbandon. Why had she left him here instead of taking him as well to meet the others? He'd already been "introduced" to the other two, and only wished share his beauty with others who had since been deprived of he the natural wonderment. His bill opened slightly and a soft chirrup emanated from within his feathered breast, falling upon the silence like a wounded whisper to the chill. No one answered his attempted plea for attention, and he found himself turning about on the cushion to face the "fox" and plush.

Odd things...Not very well plumed. But the fox can fly, so he might not be so bad. I do remember the plush though, from...somewhere. Where is it from? I don't know! She is from a where some indeed and perhaps I ought to be nice to her. After all...she is a plush and I do know her...

So Carl braced his tallonned feet against the cushions and cautiously hopped towards the two.

Donna on the other hand was quite sociable, and shook the new-commer's hand and waved to whomever else had entered.

"Welcome all of ya! Nice to see you!"

Meepfur
Tori's blue eyes cast shyly downward for a moment, but flicked back up to look at the woman who'd spoken to her. She may have been shy, but she was also polite. "I'm fine," she assured, "My brother just wanted to come for a visit."

Speaking of her brother, the winged feline gingerly removed the bedraggled puffball from Toby's mouth and set to 'freeing' him from the scarf. "I'm Turmali," she offered to the others in her soft, feminine tones, "Tori for short. My brother here is Toby."

Although he was disappointed to lose that lovely puffy chewthing, he licked his sister's fingers while she unwrapped him, before turning his attention to the bird, and to the bear plush. He'd seen that bird before! Only he hadn't been alive, and he'd been dressed as a knight. Ohh, he was bound to be cool.

His tail wagged faster at the rememberance, and he let out a low wroo in greeting as he was set on the ground. As soon as he was, he high-tailed it over to the couch and gave a mighty leap to get up on it.

D-chan Spiro
"...you're sure he won't eat me?"

And then she is gone, smiling at the unfamiliar faces, trying to forget about the avian behind her with Minnie and Chevyo. They can take care of themselves...

...right?

Chevyo flutters his wings, slinking across the cushions toward Carl, bright golden eyes curious. He lifts one paw as the raptor hops closer, reaching out to poke Carl gently in the chest.

IT'S SOFT! YAY!! Chirping happily, Chevyo bounces back to Minnie and worms under her before standing, ensuring that the plush is stable across his back before zipping back to pounce on the bird with a joyful yip.

Translation: DOG PILE!!

Dani smiles at the winged feline cheerfully. "It's very nice to meet you, Tori," she says. "I'm Dani...and that's your brother?" She blinks down at the miniature hound, watching as he scampers off to the couch to join the Velveteen festivities. "What a family!"

Turning to Ciorra, she smiles again. "You're right, there is something different about them," she grins. "But I think these are mostly just normal plushes...

"...I think. I've never been able to tell. Anyway, some of the more...lively examples are romping over there," she snickers, jerking a thumb toward Toby and Carl.

ciorrawolfmage
Ciorra blinked, as she was not entirely used to being greeted so warmly. "Yeah...nice to see you too." She looked over at the animals sitting nearby...a winged fox thing, what appeared to be a bear plushie, and...some kind of raptorial bird. "Umm...whose is...he?...She?...That bird. Is he...safe?" Despite the strangeness of the place, Ciorra found herself growing more comfortable here. She removed another scarf and a knitted hat, revealing orangey hair that just about reached her shoulders. Her gaze returned to the animals again as one of the other girls unwrapped a dog from the end of her scarf and he trotted off to join the others. "Forgive me for seeming ignorant, but...this seems to be more than just a shop."

ciorrawolfmage
"Wait a minute...Lively examples? Are you telling me that those..." She gestured to the romping animals "...Were plushies once?"

Could it be true? Oh, she hoped that it was...she'd always imagined a place like this, but never really thought it could exist.

Donna the Vixen
The dog jumped upon the cushions. Carl side-stepped. The fox jumped at Carl. Carl met him in the air.

The eagle launched himself soon after Toby (being remembered from the Halloween gathering) landed upon the cushion beside, Carl braced his legs and waited until the very moment the fox reached his peak. It was them the muscles of a true predator allowed him to break free from the grasp of mere earth, and become one with the air. As he did so, he rolled back his left wing to an 80 degree angle. This allowing him to turn so much that he almost reached a complete turn around, but halted this progress so that his feet came between his torso and the fox who by this time would have fallen to a point where the talons, would they connect, would fasten around the slender torso. The additional weight would then complete his 360 and land them so that the Eagle would indeed come about the top of the heap, by at the last moment before meeting couch releasing his grasp and spreading both wings as a natural parachutte if said move were completed in succesion.

This was behind his owner's back, for she was still bussied by answering D's query and giving dues to those who'd be introduced.

"Yes I'm sure he won't eat you..."

"Hello Tori, and ello-well...there went Toby...You to Ciorra! Welcome to the shop, and yes you're quite right. Would you like to see our velvets?"

ciorrawolfmage
"See them? Well, sure...that is, as long as you don't mind. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing here, but I feel at home already. Which is odd...for me. But anyways...it's nice to meet all of you. And I'd love to see your velvets...if they can be spared from their game." At the last phrase she grinned, watching the frantic antics of the animals a short distance away.

Meepfur
"You should see the rest of it," she murmurred in response to Dani, chuckling. Unwiding her scarf from around her neck, she then tied it around her waist.

"I confess I don't know very much about the shop itself, although I gather from what my hanni says that..velvets, such as my brother, come from a special chest? I don't know that the stuffed animals on the shelves are anything more than stuffed animals. But I do know that Toby was a stuffed animal once himself."

No sooner had Toby jumped up onto the couch with a jingle of his silver-coin collar, then was he witness to the very..strange sight of a fox with a plush jumping onto the stylish bird he remembered from Halloween, and the bird pulling a rather impressive move in response.

How cool was that!! Toby gave a tail wag of appreciation before barking and dipping into a play-bow, on the off chance the bird might be up for a bit of play..err, test of skills.

D-chan Spiro
"Yes, the dog and the bird were plushies at one point," the half-fox chuckles, ushering Ciorra closer to the couch. "Minnie, the bear, she's a Velveteen, too...she just hasn't changed yet. Someday soon, I hope. It might make life a little more interesting..."

"And the Velveteens do come from a chest...that one there," she chirps, pointing to the odd chest in the corner. "That's how I got Minnie! As for how they grow...well, I'm at a loss when it comes to that. Do you know?"

As Carl takes off and whirls to throw his talons out at the guardian, Chevyo shrieks in vulpine alarm. His wings shoot out from beneath the plush bear on his back, pumping hard and fast. He barely manages to avoid the raking claws, making a not-so-graceful landing on the back of the couch.

Well, that was dangerous!

...but kinda fun, too. Chevyo grins, stalking along the back of the couch with all three tails waving in the air. Such an interesting little bird...a playing of a meaty muncher bird...now, if only he could sneak up on him...

Donna the Vixen
Missing the fox, Carl was momentarilly stunned by the clench of open air. He hovered in the mists of confusion, before righting himself so that his talons managed to connect with the cushions below and he landed with back turned to the others. A check of the feathers, and a quick gathering of his bearings, and he turned around to face what had elluded him so.

Any other preadator would have probably pursued the matter farther, but instead the eagle only smiled (as best as a bird could) and a chuckle roused from within his being in acknowledgement of his defeat. It subsided eventually and he hopped close once more, but this time he was at greater comfort with the whole aggenda and reached out his wing to bend the flight feather tips against the chest of Chevy, Minnie, and Toby in turn to greet them.

ciorrawolfmage
"Hmm...so they come from the chest? That's cool. How do you go about getting one from it...do you have to do something special? I mean...they don't just let anyone open it and get a velvet I'd guess."
Ciorra sighed. It seemed too good to be true...yet all of these people were saying that it was, and they accepted it as fact. If there was some way for her to get one...a plushie that came to life? She wanted to know how.

Meepfur
"I'm not certain just how they grow. I know from plush they come alive to be the animal they are, though I didn't witness it myself. Hanni did not either; she was asleep."

Tori's tail swayed slowly behind her, channeling her shy nervousness. She wasn't used to groups of people, and on top of it hadn't been physically speaking for very long at all. The young mage would have been content to remain quiet, but she was too compelled to be polite and converse to give in to that desire.

As his challenge went unaccepted for the moment (well, his prospective opponent should be rested, anyway, to be fair), Toby went back to standing properly, or as properly as one could on a cushion.

Panting excitedly, tail still waving behind him, he returned the chest-tap from Carl with a nudge of his nose against the eagle's chest, before peeking curiously over at the fox-thing and bear plush.

D-chan Spiro
"Huh...I'll have to keep an eye on it. I'm curious, you know? It seems like a terribly interesting process." The half-fox smiles and falls silent, leaning carefully against one of the long rows of plush-lined shelves. She can feel the nervousness in the feline; she feels it often enough.

Turning to Ciorra, she nods. "You actually need a special key to open the chest," she elaborates. "It comes randomly. I got mine in the mail."

Chevyo grins as he sprawls out across one arm of the couch. He waves with one paw at the hound, winking one piercing golden eye as his three tails sway in unison, sweeping across the material covering the sofa. He chirped something incomprehensible, scrunching his face as though trying to voice his words in something more easily understood...

...and failing. He sighs, grinning and squirming down onto the couch cushions to present the cinnamon bear plush to his new friends.

ciorrawolfmage
"Hmm...a special key...well, I don't suppose there's much I can do about it except hope then..." Ciorra shrugged. "Still, it's fun to come and watch these velvets play...and to talk with you all. Do people with velvets come here often? I mean...it seems like you do, I don't really know. Who owns this place anyway? I haven't seen anyone like an owner so far, but it is some kind of shop, isn't it?"

Reserved for: Bruises

November 29

Donna sat in the bathroom, a slight grimmace forming her bitten lip as she again looked down at the dark violet bruise that had formed along her fore-arm. She released it, after being sure it was there, and leaned over the sink, turning on some warm water to run over the throbbing blemmish. For a moment the dull ache subsided, and she poked her head out the door. "Celtic?! Honey? Could you please bring mommy the little white box from the kitchen drawer?" No reply. "Celtic?"

The sound of a small child comming closer at a run echoed through the hall before comming to a softer gait and the child could be seen only a few feet more from her. He came in and set down the box on the bathroom counter, and watched her open the box and pull out a strange wrap. Curious to what she was doing, Celtic came closer and looked up into his mother's features. "Mommy, whatcha doin'?" Donna pulled her arm from the water, dried it, and made to put on the wrap; almost disregarding the question before catching herself. "Mommy isn't doing anything honey, thank you for bringing me the box though."

He frowned, odviously not believing her. "Than why did I have to get you the box?" Donna sighed and undid the wrap a few inches. Now was not the time to argue with a three-year-old, and she extended her arm so that he could see the dark mark that had taken residence there. Celtic's mouth widened with awe at such a big "injury" and pulled his mother's arm closer. "Mommy! You're hurt!" He then leaned down and gently kissed the bruise. "That made it better?" Donna smiled and nodded as she re-did the warm wrap. "Yes honey that made it all better. Thank you so much." She kissed him and a gleeful giggle broke from him before he waved goodbye and left her company to dissapear through the door and down the hall.

Tizoc Heishiro
Heishiro sat back in the bucket seat of his small car, then rotated the key to shut off the engine. He took a moment to check up on his appearance, then climbed out of the vehicle, his hand pushing the door shut behind himself. Silver eyes scanned the face of the home, revealing it to match the number he'd been given prior. This is the place alright... Better go knock. A smile crossed his face as he thought about a possible reaction to just pushing open the door to her home and announcing himself. His smile broke into a slightly crooked grin as he reached his right hand out to ring the doorbell. A soft chime reached his ears nearly instantly, causing them to flick quickly to the sound while he awaited patiently at the door.

The soft toll of the door emanated through the house, breaking Donna's attention from her wanderings for a moment. She lifted her head and brushed away a few loose strands of hair, before answering the unrelenting bell. "I'm comming!" A few minutes passed before the lock could be heard to break away, in soft click, and the brass handle turned to allow the door to swing inwards, where Donna stood.

She looked him over for a moment and smiled. Her hip came to rest on the doorframe, and she relaxed in Tiz's prescience. "Hey stranger..."

Tizoc Heishiro
His grin only widened as the door swung open, revealing her to the outside from inside the home. Tizoc's tail was a constant swing of motion as he watched her lean against the doorframe. Just passin' on by, Miss. Got some time for a buddy? The question didn't needed to be asked, because he already knew the answer. However, he was in a good mood, and decided to goof around a bit. His silver eyes took a peek past her frame inside the home, before turning back to her.

Donna nodded and righted herself from the position. She turned then and went inside, allowing him to enter at his liesure. "Close the door behind you Tizo, I don't want flies getting in." The call was distant. Donna had already taken a seat on the couch, and flicked on the television to entertain her guest. It was a sucky show, she changed instead to Discovery Channel where thankfully something of interest was on, that didn't involve the usually yiffing D.C. likes to feature so often.

It was an old episode of Myth Busters, but would suffice to keep conversation up, so she waited for him to come in.

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc nods, stepping in behind her and pushing the door shut quietly. He instinctivly locked it behind himself as well, the thought to do it never crossing his mind. Following the sound of her voice, he trailed her to the couch, while peeling his coat off. Heishiro left his coat draped over the back of another chair as he plopped down on the couch as well, making himself quite comfortable. His first glace around revealed that Maxine, as well as Carl and Celtic were in a differnt room. Where's the gang at? He gave off a soft laugh, his eyes glittering from the television.

Donna shrugged. Odviously not knowing where Maxine had curled up at, nor where Celtic had run off to moments before he arrived. She did know where Carl was though, and placed her fingers to her lips to initiate a sharp whistle. The house was quiet. Save for the low conversation between the patrons of the running show, little more could be heard than the run of water down the roof to the porch.

Nothing seemed come of the whistle, Donna shrugged and turned back to face Tizoc. "Well, Carl is somewhere. Just not here at the mo-" She'd spoken too soon. Silently, the minute raptor had risen from his post-afternoon slumber to hear his mother's beckon of him. His feathers puffed before settling into a streamline coat, allowing him to sneak up well upon the two and take perch ontop of the nearby coffee table.

Carl blinked his cobalt optics. He cocked his head to the side and his crown came forth to give an uncommonly funny appearance to the bird. The viciously curved beak parted and his soft call emanated through the room, before dieing away his announcement that he had indeed arrived.

Tizoc Heishiro
Silver eyes settled on the bird, before closing pleasantly, as if seeing an old friend for the first time in a long time. Wow Carl, how you've grown since I last set eyes on you. How've you been? Tizoc offered his right arm out to Carl, inviting him to climb aboard.

Carl's feathered crown fell, and he scuttled up sideways to the offered arm. No one else had held him before, so for a moment he was apprehensive to get on. One claw and then another...he took his time navigating his tallonned grasp over the thicker arm of Tizoc. Eventually Carl made it on though, and clung tight with his grasp so that whatever might happen he wouldn't be thrown quite so easily.

Donna reached out a hand and gently stroked Carl's chest to calm him. "Good boy, that's my Carl." The avian's grip relaxed a bit, as did he. His mother always knew just what spot to touch.

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc's eyes had become half shut as he mentally wished he'd put on Carl's handling glove. Well, I bet nobody else has ever handled Carl, which would explain his death-grip on my arm... Heishiro's mind ran over that thought again and again as Carl slowly crawled up his arm, seemingly inch by inch, until he relaxed, the grip loosening greatly. Ehh... There we go Carl. We're all family here. Tizoc gave Donna a rather blessed look of thanks and smiled, quite pleased with himself over all this.

Donna pulled away after Carl had calmed down, and lay herself back against the maroon throw pillows that bordered the couche's arm. The two males looked a pair together, almost worth getting up to fetch the cammera to get a picture. Not quite though, and she instead propped one leg up onto the couch. "So, you hangin on ok lately?" Donna snuggled back into the cushions a bit more, appearing quite at ease save for a minor wince as she jarred the heated wrap on her forearm. It vannished quickly and she looked on unphazed.

Carl clicked his beak softly in thought, still edging up the arm until he reached Tizoc's shoulder where he came to rest. This perch was much easier to grasp, and the eagle rellished in the feel of his talon tips raking the fabric of the man's clothing. All that seperated him from flesh...but he wasn't one to demand sacrafice for his company. Instead of inflicting further result of his tight grasp, he cocked his head once more and brought it around before Tizoc's face. He swirred it one way, much like an owl, and again let loose a cry for attention.

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc had been eyeballing Carl with a pleased look on his face. He was sure that Carl must not've minded Heishiro's poor handling skills of him as compared to Donna herself. He'd started to reach up and mimic Donna's stroke on Carl, since he himself had no idea how you pet or stoke a bird in any way when a quick jolt of motion caught his eye from Donna's direction. Tizoc paused a moment, his eyes settling on the perfectly unfazed face of Donna before a pair of blue eyes was all in his face. Heishiro's ears had turned forward as Carl gave off another cry, and in response, Tizoc had began to gently mimic Donna's stroke on him. Heh, yes Carl? Heishiro smiled pleasantly towards the eagle.

Donna the Vixen
Carl had never been petted by another. This was evident.

The raptor withdrew his features from Tizoc's face, and cocked his head to the side once more as the finger extended towards his chest. Carl clacked his beak slightly, before suddenly lunging himself forth and securing the finger in his jaws. Luckily he had not snapped down, and Donna was able to hurriedly pull herself up from the cushions and grab the bird around his waist. She pulled until Carl released, and both fell back onto the throw pillows in a matted heap.

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc squinched his eyes shut, upon the sight of Carl capturing his finger. His mind raced with spur-of-the-moment thoughts in the time it took Donna to sit up herself.
Crap, he's gonna bite me. Crap, I gonna loose a finger. Crap, this is gonna hurt. Crap, why did I try and pet him? My god, this is gonna hurt. It was then that he felt his finger become released, as well as his arm. Heishiro opened one eye to see both Donna and Carl in a heap about the pillows, and grinned. Before further actions between the woman and the eagle could be taken, Tiz had reached into his pocket and pulled a small device to his face, revealing it to be a digital camera. He quickly snapped 3 pictures and then placed it back in his pocket with an amused smile on his face. That will definatly go in the album.

Donna the Vixen
A pillow fell as Donna shifted her lithe figure to fully sit up, as opposed to laying back in rather undiginified stature. She took a moment to settle herself and then set down Carl on the cushion between her thigh and her guest's.

Carl sat perfectly still. The sudden burst of light had stunned him.
His eyes widened, the turquoise blue optics staring straight before him, until the exposure caused him to blink and snap back into his senses. What had happened? He was unsure and ruffled his feathers, only to smooth them a moment later. It seemed to bring him som reassurance that he was alright, and with the last feather in place he looked to his mother and gave a little hop-skip of question towards her.

Donna extended her hand and placed it upon Carl's head, brushing back towards his tail. Her attentions were on Tizoc though. "Are you ok?" She was genuinely worried. It had not been expected for Carl to try and sample her guest. It wasn't entirely he to blame though. She should have fed him sooner. "He didn't mean to" sweatdrop

Tizoc Heishiro
Meh, no harm done. I'm quite fine. Heishiro gave off a pleasant smile as he double checked his camera and replaced it in his pocket. He was silent for a bit, his attention having shifted to the television for a moment before his looked back towards Donna, then Carl. Sooo... What exactly do you feed him anyway? With him being an eagle, I find it hard to imagine birdseed. Tizoc laughed softly, his tail swaying in pleased amusement.

Donna the Vixen
A sheepish smile broke out over Donna's face at Tizoc's query. She brought a fisted hand to her mouth and gently coughed into it before finding it apt to answer while it might still be somewhat obscured. "I feed him raw meat, jerky, and mxecian food"*cough* To any who had ever taken care of a bird. Feeding thier baby others of it's kind was said to be a big "no no" in the ways of propper care and health. Carl was quite a different case though, and had grown quite fond to quietly landing beside her purse, as it was set down when she got home, and poking his head right in to rummage for any tidbits she might have brought back for him. Usually there weren't any. But this did not deter the habit of his daily "hunt" through her things, and Donna certainly did not discourage it. She found it funny.

To excuse herself from the limelight for a moment though, she extended her arm to Carl and made him mount the pallid perch. Donna then set her arm out again onto the glass coffee table, and bade him off. Carl scuttled off the end tips of her phalangeal digits, and gave a curious sort of bob as the new sensation of glass came beneath his talons. His crown rose. His crown fell. The slight ticking of his claws on the glass amused him, and he hopped around. Donna turned to Tizoc and gave a gentle smile. "Will you excuse me for a moment Tiz? I'm going to go get his glove so I can handle him better. I'll be right back." She patted his shoulder gently as she stepped behind the couch and through the hall. Leaving the two quite alone for the moment while she went to get the desired item.

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc gave off a warm smile as Donna patted his shoulder and wandered off for the moment. He turned his head towards the television for a moment, but couldn't exactly pay attention to what was happening on it due to Carl's amused hop-skips across the glass table. Heishiro setted further back into the couch, his right arm resting over the top of the sofa as he watched Carl bobb about on the table, still looking rather amused. Tizoc's silver gaze rolled around the room a few times, then landed again on Carl as the eagle remained insistant on clicking about on the table, while giving off his own clicks from his bill. Ahh, enjoying yourself Carl? Tizoc closed his own eyes and tilted his head slightly to the side in amusement.

Donna the Vixen
Carl was growing tired of hopping. He gave a pre-settled bound again before settling on the table's surface. However, as it is commonly know, some raptors have difficulty sitting at comfort upon flat or slick surfaces. The table was both. Carl bobbed his head down towards his feet and concentrated hard on keeping the two from sliding over the shimmering plain. The first leg slipped and then the second. He brought his beak down onto the table's edge and used it for leverage to right himself and try again. For several minutes this continued until finally Carl bore down hard on the table and was kept perfectly still and content.

For the moment at least.

Upon the glass's fragile structure, thin spider-like viens began to lance from where the eagle's talons rested. At first it was hardly noticable, this much like when one accidently fractures ice with the tip of one's shoe and it lances out into several little cracks. As such though, a few little cracks start to become slightly bigger cracks. And more and more until the heart wrenching sound of the glass fracturing inwards into itself broke the quiet of the tranquil home and wrought the icy tendrils of sheer terror through the heart of the avian. A screech broke from his beak, his eyes widened as a frenzied animal, he pushed off hard from the table and opened his wings to snatch him away from the crystal shards that now littered the open air. With a mighty thrust of his wings within the second, he was whisked away and tore through the room until catching himself upon the high sill of the armouar (sp?) and sat trembling upon it.

He had not been the only one frightened by the sudden shatter of the table, for audible through the vacant hall could be heard Donna's thundering steps as maternal instinct latched hold and she hurtled in to protect her baby. Donna halted in the doorframe of the hall. Her hands grasped the edges and her hair was in slight disarray as her optics traced the room in search of Carl. She eventually came to pass her gaze over his hiding spot and then looked to Tiz. She was breathless.

"Tiz...what the hell?"

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc was stunned for the moment. He was clueless as to why, or how the table had broken, nor could he belive it had happened so fast. His own still widened eyes roamed from the table, to Carl, to Donna and then back to the table. He was sure confusion was written all over his face as he attempted to explain what had happened. Well, the table...Carl...Glass...Errr...Broke? I dunno. Tizoc gave off a rather sheepish smile, wondering if Donna understood his explination better than he did himself. It was then that his shocked state wore off, and that he stood, carefully avoiding the glass as to not grind it into the floor as he wheeled around the sofa. Perhaps you should prevent Maxine and Celtic from entering the room while I clean this mess? And Uhh, I dont think Carl was hurt, but maybe you could check him too? Heishiro wandered off to find a broom and a dustpan in the kitchen.

Donna the Vixen
Donna nodded. She slipped the leathered gove onto her arm and fastened the brilliant silver clasps so that the fabric became as one with her exposed flesh. It was then extended and two fingers were placed upon her blushing lips, fomring the needs for the sharp whistle that emanated from her as signal to call Carl back.

Carl had been badly startled. He shuffled awkwardly across the thin ledge and cast his gaze down to earth. While he was afraid he was proud as well. Nomatter how the moment had taken his breath, he would not be seen as afraid in the eyes of the man who had previously been watching. He drew himself up and hopped off the ledge, his wings extended and he glided down onto his mother's arm. His wings were tucked in neatly then and he turned to face Tizoc. Cobalt blue eyes pierced through the very flesh of his mother's guest, and his meaning was clear enough on it's own. He was not afraid and he was not phazed.

Merely startled for a second...that's all...

Donna gently fingered through the avian's feathers and checked for glass. A few minor shards cut the tips of those pale digits, but were removed promptly and set somewhere Celtic nor Maxine would stumble onto them. Her attention then turned to the mess and she jogged Carl onto a safe perch before following Tizoc into the kitchen to assist. Something burdened her though. She stepped forwards jauntily and grabbed Tizoc's hand in her own. "Tiz?"

Tizoc Heishiro
Heishiro paused, he left hand holding on to the broom, then he spun all the way around to face her. His face had a question written on it as his eyebrows arched up while he gave off a soft noise in acknowledgement. Hm. Yes Donna? He stopped speaking when his eyes met hers, a hint of worry tainting the silver orbs while he waited a reply.

Donna the Vixen
"What happened in there? I mean..." Donna released his hand and placed two finger to her forehead as though frustrated. She elaborated. "I mean I've been waiting for this. You need to tell me what happened...I think it might be something happening to Carl."

Tizoc Heishiro
A thoughtful look passed Heishiro's face as he lowered his chin a bit and scratched the back of his head. Well, he was trying to settle down on the table, but he kept slipping up quite a bit. Then he really planted his bill and straightend up, and crack... Thats all she wrote. Glass flew everywhere. Tizoc gave off a slight shrug as he finished up telling Donna what he saw, his ears flattening to his head as he looked into her face.

Donna the Vixen
Donna's features bowed slightly. Traces of her scarlet locks falling to mask the expression of her visage. She leaned back slightly on the counter and pondered for a few minutes until finally porcelain digits came and guided the strands back into place, and she looked up to him. A more placid, almost thoughtful look, lay across her this time and she nodded to him and gently took the broom. She turned away then and called back, as she retired back into the messy chamber, "You don't have to help Tiz, but I would appreciate it. If you do though, could ya bring the paper weight from the kitchen drawer? I wanna try something."

Tizoc Heishiro
Only a single thought as to why a paper weight was needed to clean the glass from the room, but he questioned it no further. He took a moment to take a quick peek in each drawer untill he'd found the paper weight. He smiled his slightly crooked smile and ran his left hand through his hair, only to quickly pull it away from it. His ring finger had a thin line of crimsom on it, that slowly began to do a bit of minor bleeding. Heishiro shrugged it off, snatched a papertowel from the roll on the counter, then followed Donna back into the den, his tail catching hold of the dustpan as he went.

Donna the Vixen
There was little more said than sweeping for the next twenty minutes or so. Donna applied pressure to the broom and swept the shards into the pan, while larger pieces were carefully moved asside for perhaps recyclable use elsewhere. The pan was filled in little to no time, and the vacuum cleaner brought out to dispose of any tinier bits missed in the cleanup of the living room. All in all it was cleared eventually and the paperweight was to be put to use.

Donna brought Carl over and placed the weight before him. Carl, being only 6 inches, came only a head higher than the instrument. While not a genius in math, Donna guaged that the weight would be heavier, than Carl's hollow mass of bone and sinew, presenting two dilemas at once to the eagle. Donna prodded him fowards and explained absentmindedly to the air, while half at Tizoc and Carl. "The way I figure it. This weight will be at least twice as heavy as Carl. I believe that the table shattering was no coincidence to Carl sitting upon it, and it can be one of a few things. He could have either changed the mass of the table to be much thinner and therefore fragile. He might have caused the temperature to flunctuate and cause it to shatter from the rappid change. He could have concentrated so hard he untapped a phsycic reaction to shatter it. Or he could have applied so much pressure to the thick pane of glass that it shattered."
"Each Velvet is said to have a gift. Trea can manipulate Sound. Willow can speak to ghosts...and I think this is Carl's power. Whatever it is...Go on Carl. Try what you like to the weight."

Tizoc Heishiro
Silver orbs skipped from Donna, to Carl, then back to his left ring finger, which was now wrapped in the papertowel in a makeshift bandage. Hmmm... A few seconds passed as nobody said or did anything else. Tizoc's eyes leveled on Carl curiously as he picked carefully at his own hair, finally drawing out the glass shard that had assaulted his finger only moments before. He tossed the shard into the trash without fail and continued to watch Carl intently.

Donna the Vixen
Carl loved being the center of attention. He drew himself up and extended one wing. He ran his beak across the magnificant pin feathers, and did the same with the next wing as though preparing to give great spectacle to the two. After he finished his administrations to his wings, he hop-skipped about the weight. Honestly he was only stalling for the moment. He wasn't quite sure what they expected him to do with the object, but knew that the attention given would demand compensation for his spotlight position.

Oh well. He would wing it.

This was quite litterall, for he made his own descision then and hopped up onto the top of the paperweight pyramid. Along the sides of said weight, tiny grooves had been fashioned to further immitate the egyptian rellics. This gave Carl a much greater grip and perch in which to assult the object without fear of it shattering beneath him. Carl bowed his head and clicked his beak, before tossing it high into the air and extending his wings. He gave a mighty shove of the feathered appendages and nothing happened. Harder he thrust them the next time, and then harder still. Increasing force, increasing pace, the object below would never seem to budge until finally he braced both legs hard against it and lifted with everything he had to offer.

Sinew pulled tight through his legs and chest. For a moment the breath escaped the bird and the cobalt blue optics opened in fear that he had not accomplished the meager feat he'd attempted in vain hopes of momentary glory. To his delight though, his gaze found itself looking well over Donna or Tizoc's head, and he realized then he'd lifted the weight.

Donna stared at her avian child for a good long time. Her features void of expression. Her gaze set on the spot where the weight had been. And then...A smile contorted her blushing lips: stealing over her face as the crimson orbs closed tight and she gave a squeal of excitement. Carl had been gifted with strength!

The moment didn't last long though, and Carl was forced to land the heavy load onto the floor below. He was tired, but proud, and gave several cries of exhilliration while Donna, in the excitement, siezed Tizoc in a tight hug.

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc found himself slightly breathless while his ears flattened in sheer surprise for Carl as his silver gaze remained glued to the eagle while Donna seemingly squeezed the life from him. Heishiro gave off a silent, but sharp intake of breath while he instinctivly hugged Donna to him in happiness for her and Carl. He gave Carl a right handed thumbs up of congratulations and closed his eyes pleasantly for a while in his joy while Donna continued to hug him excitedly. That...was...amazing... Simply amazing. "Amazing was the only word he could find to describe the feat of power.

Donna the Vixen
Donna released Tizoc and came towards the hovering creature. Her hands came forth and cupped beneath the weight to signal Carl that now was it alright to drop his heavy load. One by one the talons unclenched from the riggid siding of the pyramid, and only as the last fell from the object did it fall into the ivory palms of it's owner.

Carl was proud but, at this point, sorely tired from carrying anything let alone flying for a moment more. He gained altitude for but a moment before landing upon Donna's shoulder and taking his well deserved rest to bask in the glow of his accomplishment.

Tizoc Heishiro
Heishiro's smile was still dancing upon his face well after Carl had taken a perch on Donna's shoulder. Tizoc took a couple of seconds to rethink Carl's feat, then approached the proud creature and add a bit more compliment to him. Carl, that was excellent. I don't think I could have done any better in lifting something thats twice my weight. You have my respect. Heishiro had lifted his hand to attempt to stroke Carl again, but hesitated for a moment, before deciding to give it another try. Slowly, yet kindly, Tizoc went to lightly stroke Carl's chest with his fingers, his own breath slowing a bit.

Donna the Vixen
The more Tizoc praised the more Carl puffed up in pride. His head almost seemed to burst as his avian crown came into full glory to give a most commically regal look. Soon enough he woul turn into nothing but a fit of fluff if this continued, so Donna attempted to detter this symptom by inserting a more parental view on the matter. "It was excellent you know." Carl puffed. "But you must be careful not to hurt yourself Carl, and this means we'll have to teach you how to be gentle as well. Now that we know it was you giving me bruises..." Carl's crwon fell and he lowered himself in a dejected hush. How dare she accuse him of flaw in excersize of his marvelous control. In flight he had become quite skilled. A god in his own right in the sky! Why would on this bounded plain would anything be different? He hardly noticed as Tizoc approahced him again, but sat perfectly still once the finger made contact.

Tizoc Heishiro
A few seconds passed ask Heishiro stroked Carl while Donna spoke, then he'd decided to stop before he'd gotten ahead of himself. Tizoc beamed at Donna and Carl before taking another look around the room and nodding to himself. I'm going to go ahead and finish up the mess. He indicated the stacks of glass and the shards that were in the dustpan. He'd taken up the shard filled dustpan and dumped it in the kitchen wastebin, then took the trash outside and out the house to make himself useful.

Donna the Vixen
Maxine lay quite still in the metal can that fringed the western border of the drive. She tilted her features up to the sky and crouched a little lower into the darkness. Donna would eventually have to take out the garbage. Then Maxine would strike and give her the scare of her life! A mishievious smile contorted her feline features and she again prepared as footsteps approached. One...two...three....

The can's lid was pulled off and a catcall scream rebounded through the cylinder as Maxine lunged forth and released her electrical spectacle. The sky darkened a washed opaque ebony, and thunder clapped closeby the earth on which the imposter stood. Golden optics fixated deep within silver, and Maxine landed on the face of whoever had disturbed her.

In the house Donna's voice could be heard at it's length. "Maxine! What did you DO?!"

Tizoc Heishiro
Heishiro toppled backwards in sheer surprise as a shrieking furry missle came from seemingly nowhere and latched to his face. In his surprise, he'd flung both arms in the air and released both the lid and the bag of garbage. Tizoc's now huge silver eyes were face to face with a pair of gold eyes as he'd layed sprawled out on the ground, still quite stunned. Maxine had gotten him so unexpectanlty, that he didn't even have the mind set to even utter a cry of any sort in defense. After several seconds past, Heishiro reached up and pried the creature off his face by what felt like it's neck and took a good look at her at arms length. Nice to see you too Maxine. I love the gift of heart-attacks, it gets the blood flowing... Heishiro rolled his eyes as he placed her down next to him and sat up, trying to calm his still rapid pulse and catch his breath.

Donna the Vixen
"Nothing!" Maxine glared at Tizoc before scampering off on her own aggenda. More than likely she'd run inside to avoid placinf herself at the scene of the crime which she committed. She wasn't entirely off the hook though and Donna persisted. "Nothing? It didn't sound like nothing. We'll talk later young kitty! Tizoc are you alright?"

Tizoc Heishiro
YEAH, I'm, uhh, okay. I just... Stepped on Maxine's tail by accident. Didn't see her right away. Heishiro scratched his head thoughtfully as he stood and brushes himself off with his hands. His eyes scanned thr ground and spied the bag of trash that landed a bit away. He calmly waltzed over to it, dropped it into the garbage can, and put the lid back on it before stepping in the back door again and double checking his clothes for dirt and to make sure his appearace was still smooth and collected.

Donna the Vixen
Donna smiled as Tizoc made his way back in. She knew there was more to the story than he was telling, but she appreciated him humoring Maxine's "sense of humor" for at least the time being. Carl had retreated to his room for a bit, leaving the them on thier own to do as they pleased. Donna patted the cushion beside her.

"You comming?"

Tizoc Heishiro
Tizoc nodded as he rounded the sofa and sat upon it next to her. His tail came to a rest at his side as it hung of the edge of the couch. He gave off a pleased look as he settled back into the cushions and gave off a warm smile. Ah, it's such an adventure over here when I visit. Brightens my day. Heishiro laughed quietly as he smiled at Donna again, the tip of his tail now swaying as if he was pleased

Donna the Vixen
Donna smiled and gave him a gentle push. "You're only saying that because you don't want to piss off my cat." She then hinted towards a set of eyes that had continually watched the two for the last few minutes. The optical pair blinked and was gone. Donna gently leaned against her companion. "Thanks for comming over today Tizoc...It's nice to have a man around the house."

Tizoc Heishiro
Maybe that too.
Tizoc's slightly crooked grin popped on his face as he gently began to scratch Donna's ears pleasantly while she leaned against him. After another moment, he'd lightly rested his cheek on the top of her head while he spoke again. I enjoy comming over. Things can get so bland over at my house. With no pets of my own or anything of the sort, it gets very quiet and boring. His fingers continued to work at Donna's ears as he'd fallen silent to give her a chance to speak.

Donna the Vixen
"Perhaps..." The gentle hues of a placid scarlet rose to paint her cheeks. Donna bowed her head a little and scooted a little closer to him. She was shy in ways. This was one of them, and for a time she was lost for words. Her gaze turned to the television for help. Mythbusters had long since ended and now only a comedy played about three men and a wedding suit. That didn't help. She hunted for the remote and turned off the tv, having to do it on her own was hard but was it?
"Maybe..." She began once more. "Maybe you could come stay over here...if you want...or..something..."

Tizoc Heishiro
He was silent still as his pulse had quicked yet again for the second time today. His tail stilled for a time as he spoke. Donna...? ...Seriously? Tizoc shut his eyes in a slight show of excitement, his fingers now trembling a bit too much to scratch her ears properly with. Heishiro reached down and gently grabbed hold of a furry tail and began to fiddle with it excitedly. I'd love to move in with you all. He stared at the tail shyly as he spoke, his slightly crooked grin widened a bit as he listened to her next reply with baited breath.

Donna the Vixen
"Mhm" Donna pulled away from him and turned to better face her guest. Her hand came forth to rest upon his own, as it fiddled with his tail, and pried it away to take it into her own embrace. "I'd be honored to have you here Tizoc."

Tizoc Heishiro
He looked down at thier hands for a moment, his own ears flattening in a very pleased manner. Tizoc nodded, while looking Donna in the face and smiling once more. Then, I'd be happy to stay.

Shop Rp

Donna the Vixen
The chimes over the doorway rattled slightly as the door inched forth. Thier normal melodious propperties lost in this jerky battle against a small creature who was undetered by the heavy oaken gate that barred his passage. "Thunk!" Again it lurched forwards, until finally the golden streaks of morning sunlight poured through the tiny falter in the shop's security. It was all that was needed for the little avian, and a sharp bill protruded into the opened passage to push even further until at long last it allowed room enough for his body, and Carl stood alone as he entered.

Yume Keraun
-Yume looked up from the couch where she sat with her feet curled under her. Trea sat infront of her. And yet infront of them, held by Yume was a chunky picture book. Yume's eyebrow arched delicatly as she tried to figure out just what was going on.- Where is Donna?

*Trea stood up and leaned forward on Yume's arm. She smiled and waved.- Hi Carl!

Donna the Vixen
Carl's bright optics settled upon Trea. He was in an unusually adventurous mood today and had flown from his specified hunting grounds out to the shop on his own. One, two, a hopskip jump and he was airbourned once more. He whirred over Yume's head for but a moment, before plopping down besides his cherrished Moose and giving her a gentle nick on the hand to announce his greetings.

Good Daylight Moose! I flew high to see you.

Yume Keraun
-Yume watched Carla bit hesitant. He had given her quite the scare last time. Though Trea didn't seem to mind.- Carl, is Donna with you?

*Trea petted his smooth feathers* Yume is reading this book to me. It is about a Pokey little puppy. And he gets into all sorts of stuff. It is really funny.

Donna the Vixen
Carl looked to Trea. Carl looked to Yume. Her question was one he wasn't exactly thrilled to answer, lest he incurr any suspicion, and in response to saif query: he cocked his head to the side, looked her straight in the eyes, and gave off a soft chirp of explination. Would he have been able to tell her exactly, morel ikely it would have gone something like: "What Donna? Repeat, please, the words?"

His attentions were short spent on Yume, and as though he weren't sitting in her lap, he turned back to Trea and attentively clicked his beak. Carl fanned his tail, shook it abit, only to hop towards the book and lightly peck the puppy on his tail to see what reaction might come from this Pookey Pouppy, or whatever she'd called it.

Yume Keraun
-Yume couldn't help but giggle. Birds always seemed to inquisitive that they would completely ignore you. She lifted the book after it had been pecked and closed it. Then set it on the arm of the chair.- We need to find out where Donna is, well.. I hope there is nothign wrong with her.

*Trea looked to Carl, the to Yume, the book and back to Yume.* Maybe she can't walk as fast as he can fly?

Donna the Vixen
Carl emmitted a soft yet indignant chirrup. He was still quite curious about this funny puppy, and hopped after the book. It lay quite still as his talloned claws quietly clacked against it's surface with each movement he made. Carl was not quite of the understanding of books yet, and wholey expected it to DO something. Anything at all. But the book would not, he lost interest, and hopped down again to settle near Trea as though he'd never moved an inch nor would he.

Yume Keraun
-Yume gently picked up the velvets, though she expected a protest from Carl at being handled by another agaisnt his will. She stood up and then set them back down on the couch. It was better then just knocking them off!- You two stay there.
-She crossed to the door and walked outside, maybe Donna could be found out there.-

*Trea moved and pulled the book down, with a bit of effort she open the first page. And point to the picture of the dog.* This is the Pokey Puppy. To find out what he is doing, you have to read the lines above him.

Donna the Vixen
An awkward squack escaped Carl as he was suddenly lifted into the air. He hadn't expected it, but was content enough to find himself back on the couch quickly enough and his feathers mostly unscathed in thier glorious arrangement. A quick preen and his attentions turned to what Trea was trying to show him. This being none other than that puppy again.

Carl used his beak as leverage and propped himself back up onto his feet. He hopped over and again pecked it lightly to indicate he too saw the puppy and the funny squiggles over his head. While he didn't know what a reed was. He would try.

Pookery Pouppy set out in the daylight. He walked on paper and became paper to. Pookery Pouppy is paper in a buuk. The End?

Yume Keraun
*Trea placed her finger under the letters and read them to her best ability, mixed with almost memorizing the book. She then pointed to the next page and read what the puppy was doing for that page. Carl seemed interested enough.*

Donna the Vixen
There was more? This pouppy didn't give up easily did he. Nomatter. He could always just continue to make something or other up. Apparently this page depicted something or other, although he wasn't certain what was going on, but Trea seemed to so he simply sat quiet and listened to her explain this strange thing.

Yume Keraun
*She continued going through it, making up something for the picture if she couldn't read the page until she got to the last page where the puppy was alseep. She then closed the book and looked to Carl.* The end. So what do you want to do?

Donna the Vixen
Finally the Pouppy was through. Carl ruffled himself back into sharper attention of the matter. He had decided half way through that reed was not his strength, but now that he thought about it, he did have strength. Comming to mind was a distant time when he was a plush, something about Moose flying although she had no wings...He had wings though! Why not now?

Carl hopped up and brushed his head under his cherrished Moose's hand. Maybe now he could show off his new skills.

Yume Keraun
*She stroked his beak and giggled* What do you want to do now Carl?

Donna the Vixen
A soft screech escaped his beak, and he craned his neck back and stroked his back feathers in hopes she'd catch on. He was eager to see if he could lift Moose, and see if she too liked to fly.

Yume Keraun
*She stood up and helped smooth out his feathers.* Need some help brushing yourself? I guess I would too if I had feathers all over.

Donna the Vixen
Carl was getting slightly impatient. Gently, he used the blunt of his beak to push Moose slightly up towards the crook of his back. It was a very slow proceedure, he didn't want to risk hurting her, so very slow was it as he tried to lift her up into the "saddle".

Yume Keraun
Oh! *Trea climbed on his back as if the world suddenly all made sense about everything. She steadied herself and leaned down on his neck.* Do you think you can hold me?

Donna the Vixen
Elation! Moose finally got his meaning, and he gave a hop-skip gait of joy for having been understood. This might have jostled her a bit, so for a moment he stood still and allowed her to settle comfortably again. He nodded at her previous query and again craned back his neck to look at her, his features upside-down for the moment, but still quite able to check on things before he would attempt flight.

He clacked his bill gently.

Ready Moose? Fly with me you shall in the air! Let's see the reed do that! Moose are ready?

Yume Keraun
*Trea giggled and made herself what she felt was secure agaisnt him. She had ridden Willow as a mouse, so she was fairly certain riding a bird would be close to the same.* Ok Carl, let's see if you can carry me.

Donna the Vixen
Carl backed up slowly. If he was going to get airbourne with the additional weight of Moose, he'd probably need a good start despite confidence in his abilities. To the back of the couch they went, before Carl braced his legs and both wings snapped open in feathered flurry. The talons bore deep into the soft material, almost ripping it as he charged fowards and gave mighty thrust of his body as they reached the very edge of what would be the tangible world they knew. Icy tendrils of andrennalized fear lanced through the bird's chest as he kicked off from the end cushion and they plummetted a few inches, the weight causing them to drop a ways before his wings were able to fully mannipulate the air about thier rushing forms and bring both creatures up from the dive and into a steep rise away from the plane below.

His lungs were filled. His heart was pounding. Each beat of his wings gave a little more strength to his flight. Carl loved the feeling of pure freedom of motion, an untangible world of nothingness surrounding his body that he and only he were master of. A cry of passioned joy broke from his heaving chest, and they flew away from the world with only the grasp of Moose holding them together.

Yume Keraun
((AWWWW!))

*Trea's heart seemed to jump from her as they dropped off the couch. Her eyes had been tightly shut as she fear the worst from her feather bound companion. His triumphant cry made her shyly open one eye, and then the other.* We are doing it Carl! We are flying together!

Donna the Vixen
Encouraged by the excitement of his companion of the sky, Carl narrowed his gaze in confident stride and began a simple routine that he had learned. Dipping his left wing at a low angle, the two began spiralling down in a wide and gentle arch into the shadowwed passages of the shelves that lined the shop's interior. They almost would appear as a tint feathered carrousel with a little maiden set attop the gliding steed. The animal dolls and various toys swirled around them, smiling faces and odd creatures abounding in thier subtle mannagerie before swept away in the tide and again falling down, down, down into the earth as Carl began to gain altitude once more.

It was odvious.

Carl was showing off.

(( xd heart ))

Yume Keraun
*Trea smiled happily as she clung tightly to Carl, though she wondered how long he could fly before tiring out. She watched as the room began at first to slowly circle around them, and then ever faster until it seemed all at once they were headed back up again. It was most fun for her, and she would have to remember this because she would have to do something for Carl later.*

Donna the Vixen
Trea's concerns were not ill-placed. Despite his growing strength, with the additional weight his wings were beginning to tire. Perhaps after more practice of his skill he could reward Moose with longer flights and higher places, but for now he found himself slowly comming to land upon the nearest thing he could manage: the shelves. He approached them quickly only to back off a bit, he beat his wings against the direction (to soften the landing) before going a bit farther forwards to land them on the oaken surface of the shelf-top.

Yume Keraun
*Trea slid off gently to try and not ruffle his feathers to much. She took a moment and smoothed them out, then patted his beak nicely.* Thank you Carl, that was more fun then reading.

Donna the Vixen
Carl gently nickered her paw. He then turned his attention to his ruffled feathers, mainly ruffled from flight, and began preening them back into a perfect sheen. Soon enough thier glossy structure was restored and he could relax in the basking glow of being praised by his Moose. Flying was his favourite thing. But being adored was sorely closeby to it.

Yume Keraun
-It was at that choice time that Yume finally returned. Realizing that she would not be finding Donna today. Carl had seemingly made it here on his own and was quite calm so Donna must be ok. She looked around not seeing ither of them but the book on the couch. She picked it up and looked around.- Trea?

*Trea looked out, off the shelf and waved.* Hi mommy! I am over here. Carl took me on his back and we flew around and it was really awesome cause everything swirled around us and then we laned WAAAY up here!

Donna the Vixen
(( I beg pardon Sir Toby. Will you accept my deepest apologies?

-She took his paw and kissed it-
xd whee ))

Mother of Moose returned she has! I'm glad Moose likes the sky. One day I will fly her into the daylight. Hello Mom Moose!

Carl waved a liesurely wing down at Yume.

Yume Keraun
((ROFL Mother Moose! It sound liek a childs book, it does!))

-Yume smiled at them and waved to Carl.- It seems like you two both had a lot of fun. But Trea, we have to go home now. There is still stuff to be done and you need to eat. ((jeez food does sound really good))

*Trea nodded and hugged Carl.* Thank you Carl, we can do more stuff next time. It will be a lot of fun.

-Yuem picked up Trea carefully and nodded to Carl.- Do you need me to hold the door open so you can go home?

Donna the Vixen
Carl nodded as well and hopped after Trea. He beat his wings slightly and landed on Yume's shoulder. He would leave once they were out the door, but hey! Free ride, and he didn't want to have to push open that door again.

Yume Keraun
-Yume smiled and gave the bird a soft stroke on the beak. She opened the door and stepped outside.- Fly safely Carl.

Donna the Vixen
Carl nuzzled against the finger before taking off into the wild un-tamed blue. He soon vannished, leaving only behind a feather as gift to his Moose.

The days are slow

It's been a few days since I've updated so I guess I'm getting lazy eh?
The days have been slow.
Decidedly, Tizoc has yet to set the date of when he's moving in.
I decided to give a few gifts out early to my current house mates, in order to be fair for having given Carl so much new furniture and trinkets.
So very slow have the days been.

Celtic was given a little white Reindeer toy.
He simply adores it and now seems to always carry it with him, even in sleep.

Maxine was given a new boat and after the river has thawed we might build her a docking pier.
That seemed to make her happy, and she's been much more ammiable to Carl and the rest of us for knowing she can now come and go as she may please once her little nook has been constructed.

Carl, he was given a weight set.

The days have been slow.

Celtic and Maxine often romp in the crunchy white tears of angels, while I watch from the bay window sill by the fire. Carl often now retreats to his room and the various noises comming from within only lead me to believe that he's been using his new weights quite often.

That doesn't stop him from making his appearances though.

We've had to make some changes now that he's come to life. A perch near the dinner table, several more scattered around the house. Lights that no longer trail and hang to obstruct his flight through the eves and heights of the rafters above...And mirrors. He seems awfully fond of them.

This isn't odd behaviour though. I've seen little sparrows sit for hours on my car mirror and peck at thier own reflection. Carl has only been doing the same although, as I watch, I notice a look of much higher intelligence as opposed to the natural birds and thier ways.

He never tires of seeing himself...but himself does he know to the opposing reflections.

Besides that there is little more to tell.

I plan to take him out to play tommorow, near the Barton Field. I hope the weather is nice...

But for now I hear him again lifting the miniature barbells only to drop them down moments later. I'd better go save my floor if I have any left by the time I get there...

Truly Tired,
Donna

Summary of the Days

Jan 1: Stayed up for New Years last night. Celtic has been sent to spend a month at his father's keep, while Tizoc comes in to fill the void. We all sat around the tv and watched the new year ring in and the ball drop.

I think Carl enjoyed all the excitement. He wheeled and hopped around in constant motion, only staying still as midnight struck and the grape juice was toated in honor of 2006.

Jan 2: Everyone is tired. I have a hangiver from too much juice...Carl is asleep. Tizoc is taking care of us. Ouch...

Jan 3: Got up and made everyone breakfast. Today we're getting ready to begin training Carl's power up and connecting on a deeper level with him. I'm sure he understands me to a degree, although some things get mixed up in the brink of our differential species. For the most part he gets the jist of it though, through trial and error and reppetition.

Lord only knows how bad I feel for taking this long to get our relationship kicked off. Tommorow we'll be better though.

Dear Diary,

Today was the day that we were lucky enough to meet Nayati and a newer Velvet, Chastity.

Needless to say, I was a little supirsed to find that Iris had a Velvet of her own (although I really should have assumed that), and more so to find that Chastity was in fact the Velvet of the shops previous owner!

That must have been quite a shock to wake up and find everything changed, I wonder how she's dealing with her dads abscence and a new mom to replace him...She seemed to be doing well.

Carl was ecstatic to find another bird! She and he socialized for a while while I talked to Nayati and Iris, the chat and company light until the light outside began to fade. It was then we said goodbye and made our leave, a happy bird and a happy Donna, indeed.

Dear Journal,

Today we went to explore the wonderful world of interior decorating. I packed up my purse, bundled Carl and myself up tight, and set out to see the style that my Eagle would soon call his own. We had two tasks today. First, as aforementioned, was to pick up some furniture and supplies for Carl's room. The second was to pick up some school supplies, and thus begin the Velvet's education.

First we hit Sams. They had a sale on Dr. Seus books, with a bundle of three books for ten dollars. I had recently sold a few insects in the Gaian market, so this was deal enough for us to take advantage of. I picked Carl up my personal favourites: One fish Two fish Red fish Blue fish, Dr. Seus's ABC's, and All because a little bug went ACHOO!!

I don't think he sees the point of them yet. He was far more interested in trying on gloves as wing covers. Maybe after a while he'll take more of a liking to it?

We picked up about $40 gold worth of books, before setting off to Rent a Room. For about three hours we walked around. Carl fly here and there, landing on the furniture he liked and quickly sorting out that which he had no taste for. I put in a little of my own style into some of the more questinable things, but eventually we left the store with a long reciept and a few buckets of Brass and Gold mettallic paint.

We're going to sponge his room.

The furniture purchased is due to arrive in the next day or so, but until then I think I'm going to go teach Carl some ABC's and perhaps try out a new method, that my friend suggested, to educate not only rellevant thinking, but his abilities as well.

Dear Diary,

Today Carl went off on his own to the shop. I've been trying to give him a sense of independance (yeah, like that's a problem), since I very well can't keep him caged up all day. So since he's away, I'm left in the house to do absolutely...nothing.

...Frew it. With Maxine out of the house, sailing, and Tiz having dropped off the face of the earth, I'm gonna go catch a nap.

This is Donna, signing out.
