Melpomene nodded. "Yes I suppose we shall have to wait." She said yawning. She blinked her eyes before rubbing a paw on her muzzle. "So then Gethin..... Do you have anyone else in your pack or family?" She asked.

Gethin flicked his tail against the ground, stuck in his thoughts momentarily. He glanced back at Melpomene, a small smile edging on his muzzle though it vanished. "Yes, only one.. Though, only recently joined my pack. An adolescent by the name of Kega."

"Only one?" Melpomene asked, "I would have thought that you would have lots of Helixes living with you already." She noticed the small smile and wondered what she had said or done to make it disappear. She shook her head. It didn't matter what had caused it to go away.

Shaking his head lightly, Gethin half curled his tail on the ground. "No, I am afraid not." He wasn't sure what drove other Helixes away. Perhaps the scent of blood, though he had been more careful of trying to remove the scent from his fur. "And only recently have I began to socialize."

"Hmmm too bad." Melpomene said with a slight not, "Yes socializing only recently can put a damper on things. What made you start socializing now? Why didn't you before?" She looked at the male wondering why he piped her curiosity.

Gethin eyed the stained Helix curiously, wondering why all the questions. Though, he was willing to answer as he could. "I have had a... problem I have had to deal with. I only recently started to socialize because I believe I have a handle on it, now..."

Melpomene's interest just shot through the roof with that reply. "Okay you have my complete interest on this one." She said smiling, "Can you tell me what problem you have? Or is that asking too much?" She gently wagged her tail on the ground as she looked at him.

Gethin remained quiet, unsure of how to answer her. Should he answer her questions? True, he had never been truely open with anyone about his... condition. Could he answer without truely answering? "It is... a need within me, one that craves and requires to be sated every other day or so. And going multiple days without sating this... hunger, only causes me pain in the end."

Melpomene grew silent as she listened to Gethin's odd answer. "Well..... why don't you feed this hunger every other day or so? You're probably supposed to. You shouldn't let it go very long without taking care of it. You said it yourself, when you do you cause yourself pain." She said seriously, "So are you 'hungry' today?" She smiled lightly, not really understanding his hunger.

Gethin sat puzzled for the moment, confused to her obvious answer. He glanced away, as if almost ashamed of his next answer. And to be truthful, he was. "I was... afraid of it. Though now, I have come to terms with it." He inhaled slowly, before smiling back at her. "No, I ate yesterday. I am satisfied until the morrow."

Melpomene grin faded. "You shouldn't fear things all the time. It's not a good way to live. It's good that you've come to terms with it." She said smiling again, "Good. I'm not sure I want to find out what this hunger is exactly."

Gethin listened to her, nodding silently. "Wise advice." He smiled back at her, relaxing a bit. "Perhaps.. Perhaps, that is best." For if he went around telling people he hunted seperately, just for blood... He would have no one left around him.

"Perhaps, perhaps not." Melpomene said tilting her head, "Just make sure you are prepared to face the consequences of not telling others what this hunger is exactly. Someone is bound to find out about and may not be too happy about the fact that you hid it from them. You'll be surprised at what others can accept about you." Her tail twitched as she thought about one of the packs she had visited before and the pup that had accepted her.
