He perked up his ears, surprised. He hadn't realized he had let that sound escape him. He tried to put on a bold face while inside, his thoughts were raging about. Should he tell her who he was? He wasn't sure himself, and what if he was wrong? Would it be better to let her think she was fatherless? What if he did end up telling her, and she hated him even more? Similar thoughts spun around but were suddenly cut off when he heard a faint but familiar howl. He was sure Victoria couldn't hear, she was still a pup after all. He kept the knowledge to himself for now, still unsure if he should tell her or just let her go. "Nothing's wrong, don't worry." he said, starting to curl his tail around her before remembering and stopping himself. He sighed but kept his tail still halfway around her, wondering what she would do.

Ark whimpered slightly, his howl cracking at the end and his body nearly collapsed. His voice hoarse and cracking, he wouldn't give up just yet. He couldn't. He snarled, the vibrations stinging his throat. He howled again, forcing the air in his lungs to spread over the area, hoping, praying that someone would help him.
Victoria watched Titan's movements carefully, deeply unsure what to do. She just looked around uneasily and quietly. She looked at him and furrowed her eye brows. "Why..am I here?" She whispered, curling away from the yelling that could follow.

Titan flickered his ears, hearing Ark's pitiful cries. He was still thinking about what he should do and another one of Ark's howls, more deperate than the last, convinced him. He turned, slowly, until he was facing Victoria. He was surprised to see her curl away and he instinctively wrapped his tail around her so she wouldn't go too far or fall. He let go of her only when he thought her paws were stable and his eyes softened when he looked at her. "Victoria..." he started, then paused, uncertain once more. He glanced between the exit and his pup, nervous. With a sigh, he tried again. "Victoria, your mother... her name was Sonet. She was... she was my mate." His voice was even at the begining but by the time he said the last word, his voice was barely a whisper and he looked back at the glowing symbol on his leg. When he didn't hear anything for a long time, he looked back at her, worried.

Victoria's expression was the same, confused look right until he said her name. Her.. she.. was her mother? ...her..mother.. Victoria mulled it over and over and.. over. She couldn't founder that that woman was her mom. Ark was her dad, but Sonnet.. was.. Victoria's, unknown to her, eyes were watering and already sopping up her cheek fur. "S..onnet?" she murmured, wanting to clarify her mom's name to never, ever forget it again.

Titan watched as different emotions darted across her features; first confusion, then longing. "Yes, her name was Sonet." he confirmed. "She is... was... your mother." He had to swallow hard to get rid of the lump that had formed in his throat. He had thought he was over her, that her death wouldn't affect him as much as it did now. It seemed he was wrong. "And, I am your father." he finished, just to make sure she knew. He hoped to keep the conversation brief and to the point, so that they wouldn't have to bring it up again later on, especially if it was during similar circumstances, he thought, eyeing the den walls. Only then did he notice the tears on her fur and he reached out tentatively with his paw, brushing off the liquid quickly before setting his paw down in front of him again.

As soon as he said father, the tears suddenly starting gushing from her. She opened her mouth to speak but only a quiet squeak escaped. No, no, no, no, NO. Ark was her dad. Her papa. Her FATHER. This.. this male, who she didn't know from a complete stranger was telling her he was his father. It was boogus. Impossible. Yet.. she felt like it was true... What did he look like under all that armor ? Ark had been familiar when he found her but this male, around the armor, looked like Ark. Had.. had she mistaken the two? Thinking Ark was this male and convinced herself sense then Ark was her dad. Ark never once told her, he was her dad but he never corrected her when she called him that.....

Titan flattened his ears, the rejection clear on Victoria's face. There seemed to be a flicker of doubt but that was all. "Victoria...?" he called, wondering if she would be all right. He fidgeted, wondering what he could do to make her feel better. Clearly, physical contact wasn't the answer. It used to be easier before, when it didn't matter whether other wolves liked him or not. He was just content with them knowing that he was better than them. But Victoria... he didn't want her to be like them, hating him and yet too afraid to speak up. He sighed, glancing towards the entrance where the wind was blowing. Some dust fell as the wind continued its barrage against the wall of dirt he had made. It seemed rain would come soon.

Victoria suddenly saw pain on the males face, once again. What had she done NOW? The tail coiled around her tighter as she hunched in on herself. She hadn't realized until that point she was shivering and fiercely cold. "T-itan..?" she asked in a hushed, shaky voice. Her fur bristled, a poor attempt to keep the body heat to herself.

"Yes?" Titan replied, a hint of hope leaking through his voice. He noticed her shaking and he flattened his ears, once more unsure. He raised his tail, lowering it again after a seconds thought. The motion repeated itself twice more before curling around Titan's leg in a desperate attempt to stop moving. Still, the sight of her small form saddened him and he moved himself a few paces closer, hopefully sending some of his body warmth to her.

She closed the rest of the distance between them, shying from the sharp blades that he so numerously wore. Curling in on herself next to her his stomach, behind his front to paws, she shivered and whimpered quietly. She was suddenly struck with fear. It was cold in her, what about Ark? She leaped back up, her cold-chills pushed aside her train of though. "Titan! You need to find Da-Ark!" Her eyes were pleading and struck with terror for the man who'd so selflessly taken care of her.

Titan frowned when he saw her get up, thinking she was going to leave him. His frown was replaced by a slight smile when he noticed she was coming towards him, instead and he shivered slightly when her cold form touched him. He flicked his ear when she called his name. He had been alone for so long he was still unused to him. And she was calling him by name, not one of those nickname things, like "father" or "dad". His frown returned and at fisrt, he didn't understand her. He had to find Dark? He looked at her and saw the pleading and terror in her eyes. Who was this "Dark" helix that would cause her to be like this? Then, what she meant to say suddenly hit him. He was thinkining about the word "dad" not long ago, after all. He remembered the rain and the scent of storm but he couldn't find any feeling in him to make him want to help his brother. He had left him to fend for himself and their reunion was certainly pleasent. Only his desire to please Victoria made him get up on his paws. "Stay here." he said, starting for the entrance.

Victoria watched him go, curling in on her self once again. Back to shivering in a matter of moments, she suddenly felt very.. very scared. Her eyes repeatedly scanned the cave, searching for anything that would harm her. What if this cave was Titan's home for his pack? What if they came home and found her 'trespassing!' They'd surely ask questions later... After about twenty minutes of Titan's absence, Vic couldn't stand it any longer. She stood to her feet, trembling and scooted out the door of the cave. The wind nearly knocked her down, alone. The ice cold water stinging her small body and soaking her fur. "D-daaa-d!" she squeaked through chattering teeth. She kept walking, sadly.. in the opposite direction of Titan and Ark .

Titan grumbled as he raced through the trees, looking for a trace of his brother. Surely, he was able to fend for himself by this point. He saw no reason to be out here looking for him but he decided he'd at least check up on him and escape back to Victoria before Ark could do anything. That should keep her happy at least. He didn't want to lie to her, after all. After around twenty minutes, he was starting to get impatient. Wasn't Ark good at tracking at all? He must have come close to their hiding place at least. He snorted with annoyance and decided he must have gone the wrong way so he ran more to the right now, trying to circle the area.

Ark was hunched under a weeping willow tree -ironic, no?- shivering and sobbing. He was angry, distraught, and disgraced. He could even keep Victoria safe! Was this punishment for not being able to find his brother, Titan? It seems like the only logical way of seeing it. Other wise, fate would of been kind and Ark and Victoria would of never crossed paths with Titan. They'd be on their marry way back home. Safe. He shivered and collapsed to the muddy ground, soaking his bottom half of hid body in thick wet dirt. He continued his dry sobs, clenching his jaws tightly.

*Otherwise, merry, his
Titan glared at the trees above for the lack of shelter they provided. Back in the North, there was no such thing as rain. Only snow and hail. In the East, it was different. He was used to getting their unusually large trees to protect him but around here, they were bare and crooked, not unlike those in the North, and the rain dodged the flimsy branches easily. He sniffed tentatively in the air and snorted soon after. He couldn't smell anything in this weather so he continued on his way, raking the soft soil with his claws to release some of his anger. He was soaked, his fur drooping like that of a mountain goat.
Finally, he came across Ark. His first plan was to see him and go, just like that, but the poor state Ark was him made him speak. "You fool," he growled, stepping closer. "Can't you even manage to take care of yourself?" He sneered in distaste, soft thumps ringing around him as water crashed against his armor. Back in the North, the cold would have already taken him. He had grown soft living with the warmth. He straightened his ears and looked down at his brother, trying to show that he was of higher status. He had never been taught that taking advantage of a weakened opponent didn't make one better. He had been taught to use every advantage he could, no matter what the circumstance, and he saw one now.
