As he watched and listened her delightful voice floated towards him once more, it had been a shock the first time, yet now it was enjoyable. Uncertainty grabbed the back of his mind about what he had done to bring forth such an action; perhaps she too felt that there was something between them? Yet even now he was unsure if his feelings where allowed, she deserved the best and he was by no means the best. He had much to learn, he still needed to see the entire world, capture all of its beauty before he could state that he was well rounded. Not an easy feat by any means. Yet it melted before her, perhaps he could start a new adventure.
Suppressing this thought once more he looked at her, she preferred to be called Moon, his stomach jumped for joy as the butterflies flapped happily around his insides, did that mean something? He spoke once more enchanted by her, "Moon it is then." He knew he had not described the reasoning behind the name yet it felt somehow unnecessary, but he still felt the same from now as he had in the moment had had given the name.
Feeling he did not need to ask anymore about her sudden ability to speak he smiled softly towards her, although the night would fade into the dawn shortly he did want this moment to end, he felt Elijah adjust her position within his mane as a soft blush sprinkled his cheeks lightly. He had never shared Elijah with anyone else before, and even when they had accidently spotted her she would not speak or touch them, yet she had done so with Sengdroma, his Moon. Was that a hidden sign from the world beyond their own? Small droplets of water trickled towards the ground like rain as she gave them a gentle shake before pulling them close to his sides. They would probably still be damp when he took to the skies, yet it didn’t matter.
He walked beside her, smelling her delicious scent as it flowed upon the air towards him, his nose twitched in playful delight. "Would you care to walk with me?" he smiled, turning his head towards her with a cheesy smile shining upon his face. Walking was not as exciting as swimming or dancing but it was still something he wanted to do with her, he wanted to experience everything he could with her. After all it all felt new and special when it was with her.

Though she had shown she could speak, Sengdroma reverted back to silence. It was her safety, she couldn't allow herself to reach too far out...not yet at least. When Maion asked for a walk, she gently nodded her head. Cautiously, she reached out to nuzzle his neck in gratitude that he did not make fun of her sudden ability. It seemed as though he accepted her for what she was.
Breaking her contact, she turned her head to the sky. She also realizing that the sun would soon be coming and it would be time for Maion to leave again. She wanted to make the most of what time she had left with him and she could only hope that he felt the same.
Turning her eyes once again to Maion, she offered a filly like smile. She was definately on his hook, he'd be able to lead her anywhere. Once he left, she would kick herself in the rear for being so smitten so soon, but could she honestly control herself? Did she even want to try? She enjoyed the flutters she felt and the quiver in her chest. Would she always feel this way around him?
She watched as the night winds gently pulled at Maions mane, strands dancing with ease along his neck. She knew somewhere beneath that Elijah clung and enjoyed the warmth. Her smile broadened.
The moon was beginning to fade in the sky, they wouldn't have long. She took a few steps and stopped, waiting for Maion to show her the way. He was to lead, she would follow. Always follow.

His heart fluttered deep within his chest, racing faster as she touched him, it was magical, a touch that his memories could not imitate perfectly, it was far from the truth. Smiling he took step after step in the soft dirt, it was comforting to connect to the earth although a part of him longed for the skies.
As she paused his nodded in response before leading them back towards the forest, with the hope that the darkness that resided within the trees would prolong his departure from her side. The wind whistled in perfect harmony with the leaves as the fell to the ground in a tinge of orange and yellow. The colours of autumn had always fascinated him, yet the colours of Moon filled his mind as vividly as the Ocean itself.

Sengdroma walked silently along side of Maion, she stayed close enough that ever so often their shoulders or rumps would brush one another. Her eyes searched over all the colors, the trees turning and a few of the forest creatures that had begun to stir even before the sun began to show. She looked over to Maion, a small smile on her face. She was lucky, she still couldn't believe that he had returned for her. She hoped that there would be many more nights that they could share. Her smile dropped, her mind had wandered to the other end of the spectrum. What if there was a day that Maion decided she was no longer special...what if he no longer came to visit? Sengdroma turned her head away so that Maion couldn't see her expression.
"Now is not the time, Sengdroma..." she thought to herself as they moved along. She tried to force the thoughts out of her head. She didn't know him..not really. What if it was all a game? What if he was just pretending? She would be crushed if he quit calling on her. She was too attached...it was too soon she knew, but there would be no turning back.

Maion walked with her in silence, enjoying the ‘accidently’ bumping between them both as the took each fateful step, it was if the silence spoke for itself, dancing and twirling in an effort to be noticed. She was so warm, allowing his eyes to watch her from their corners he smiled, the last of the nights light shimmered on her softly and as the sun began to lick the landscape he saw her colouration for their true magnificence for the first time. He didn’t want to leave, lowering his head as a stiff sadness settled within his limbs he froze, pausing on the spot he watches as the grass below his feet flowed in the gentle chilling breeze.
"I…" he started, he knew what he wanted to say, yet it felt inappropriate, un-Angeni like. Perhaps it was best for him to change his original sentence to one more fitting, it was unfair to her, after all he did not know how she felt in return. Standing strong he looked at her, his eyes soft and friendly but his voice slightly harsh in an effort to distant himself. "…can not…" He couldn’t bare it if either of them where hurt, he was already ‘damaged goods’ as he had been informed in the past. Images of blood, disease and distasted haunted most of his days, night was his only freedom, now he had something other than the Ocean and the Moon to watch, he had her. A delicate flower that he felt his bloody past was cause to become stained and wilted under the burden, he could not share such images, not yet at least.
His heart fluttered softly within his chest, he could not bring himself to complete the sentence, or to lie and change it although, so he continued onward silently. He would stay with her though early morning, perhaps they could watch the sun rise in all its glory as its tongues of fire swept the line in a gentle fury. He could see there was a clearing a head, the perfect place to watch such a memorable image with such a beautiful mare. He spoke once more, a caressing softness returning to his voice as he looked to the sky. "Watch the sunrise with me Moon." His eyes turned to join her own, and as he watched her he felt his mind wander to his unwillingness to leave, duties or not he felt he needed to stay, the question that remained was dare he?

Her heart began to sink even more, she knew that sunrise would be his calling card, his que to leave her in her lonesome. She wanted to plead with him, beg him not to leave her again...but she knew he had other callings, other duties to tend to.
Her mind thought back to their last meeting, their dance that they shared under the moon. This too, would be an event that she would commit to memory. She had yet to see Maion in the light of day, she was sure that as the red and oranges came crashing over the horizon, that he would look even more magnificent that when he was being encircled by the moon's gentle light.
She offered a small unwavering smile, then nodded her head. Her eyes fell upon the clearing that Maion had seen, she figured that's where they would be spending their last moments of this visit. Before making her way there, she took the few steps that seperated she and Maion, closing her eyes she gently placed her cheek up to his, ever so slightly moving her head up and down to nuzzle her company. She wasn't sure how to tell him that she enjoyed his visits...wasn't sure how to tell him that she wanted him to return again and again. It was stupid of her to let him in so close so quick, but her heart had given her no choice in the matter. All she had now was hope. Hope that she wasn't being played for the fool.

Her gentle touch comforted him, and in that moment he allowed himself to close his eyes and be lost to the world around him, all that mattered now was Moon. As she pulled away his heart skipped a beat, and the uncontrollable silence returned to his mind once more. He did not want to leave her.
Walking beside her he stayed as close as he could manage due to their situation, it seemed unrealistic to ask her to join him on his journey, yet it seemed greedy to ask her to wait for him here. Sighing he bowed under the pressure, she would have to determine their destiny for he could not bring himself to in fear of causing her pain and misery. Reaching the clearing a soft smile flickered upon his lips, his eyes captured the glint of the newly rising sun turning them a strange shade of purple. He wished he had power over the sun, to banish it back into the water depths from which it now ascended from, but alas he did not have power over anything that powerful.
Standing for a moment his ears flickered for any noises in the surrounding area, but apart from his pounding heartbeat and the gentle footsteps of Moon there was nothing. Settling himself he began to lower his body towards the ground once more, his wings tightly tucked in at his sides as he adjusted his legs for optimum comfort. Silently he raised two mighty wings on his right side, flicking their tips softly as an invitation for her to join him. If nothing else he wanted to feel her warm one last time before the day took its waking breath.
The colours began to shimmer in the distance as they waved and danced in the morning glory, the sun was rising. Soon he would be forced to leave, yet the question remained, dare he stay?

Seeing his invitation, Sengdroma didn't care that it wasn't proper, she didn't care that her father would have her hide if he saw them... She moved her body underneath Maion's great wing and lowered herself to the ground next to him. Her body coming to rest against his as her eyes looked to the sunrise. She blinked several times, trying to clear her eyes of the excess moisture that had began to gather there. Why was she so upset? She knew this time would come. She leaned her head over, resting it gently against Maion's neck, careful not to squish or cause discomfort to Elijah who still hid beneath the camoflauge of mane.
She closed her eyes as the sun rose higher, casting out it's rays of brilliant color onto the land. She sighed deeply, her mind racing. She blurted out before she could think, "Will you return to me?"
Embarassed as she was, she had to know the answer. It was important enough for her to actually verbalize her question, her heart and her mind both needed to know what they were doing. Though there were birds beginning to sing, Sengdroma didn't hear them. She was attentively listening for the stallion's answer.

An increased smile lay upon his face and a soft blush danced upon his cheeks as she settled beside him, her touch as tender as new spun silk, her breath as warming as the sun and her beauty as brilliant as the Moon. How unusual to find the day and the night bound within one person, perhaps she was not even aware of her qualities, yet to Maion they sung as loudly as the waves crashing upon the Cliffside on a stormy night, he would not change that for a moment. Her question shocked him slightly, it seemed she too was thinking the same things he had been, reassuringly he moved his head softly to nuzzle into her own in an effort to comfort her, as long as he had breath within his lungs he would return to her. Simply to see her smile one more time. A smile unchallenged by anything else he had seen in the world around him to this point in time, and he doubted that anything would ever come close to it in his mind.
As he watched he remained silent, he wanted to scream and dance his answer, of course I will return yet everything seemed to be happening so fast, his thoughts stumbled to his quest for the rose. He had spent countless hours searching with Scythe for the perfect white rose, and although it had only been a week since then it felt almost like yesterday. Moon had consumed his every thought, his dreams and wishes since they met and that day had only elevated them beyond his control. He felt he was in love with her, and only she would ever do to settle the blazing fire that burnt so wildly within his beating heart. She was his Moon, she had accepted his name for her, preferring it over her own name when spoken by his lips, surely that meant something, a hidden sign from the powers that twirled in the skies above them. Yet as the suns light flickered it rays upon the world he felt a small hole of doubt forming within him, surely someone so perfect could never return his feelings.
Eyes watching as the flickering colours that danced before him he remembered that he had brought the rose with him, every night for a week, yet it had been so long since it had been plucked from its healthy green vine that it was now dried and brittle. His heart sunk softly, he had wanted to give her something beautiful and pure yet he felt that the dried flower although still perfect in shape seemed to be somehow unfitting now, yet… he needed to.
Taking a deep breath so that the warmed air filled his lungs for a moment he released it and spoke softly to Elijah, a guilty twang that he had not yet replied to Moons question, a question that he still longed to scream the answer for. "Rose please, Elijah." With his words the left side of the mane wiggled softly as the back paws of the fox became visible once more, they contrasted perfectly in the lightly that slowly started to illuminate the world blow its fiery temper. Inch by inch she appeared, he mouth gripping onto the dark green stem of the rose he cherished so much. In the end Scythe had located it for him, yet that some how didn’t seem to erase the importance of the symbol, after all they had worked as a team and he would return the favour one day soon by gifting his family with the berries they loved so much.
As the rose appeared, his heart skipped a beat, what if she didn’t like it? What if she misunderstood his intention? What if… SHUT UP! He screamed within his head as he turned slightly to face Moon, a coy smile riddled upon his face, he spoke softly, his voice as soft as he could make it although it still remained deep. "Moon," he paused, contemplating the perfect words to wash away her worries and fears, "a token of my affection, I will return." And with that a soft blush throbbed within his cheeks emanating heat as he watched and listened, he spoke once more before saying in a soft mumble, "wait for me." Now only time would tell how she felt in return.

Her eyes remained closed as she waited for his answer, she refused to look at the sun, she didn't need the reminder that her time with Maion had drawn to an end. She could feel Elijah rustling about, curious of this rose she opened her eyes slowly and moved her head so she could watch the going ons.
Her chest felt heavy as he began to speak, the rose was for her! She blinked, her eyes focusing in on the perfectly dried white rose. How long had he been carrying this flower? Had he been searching for her before tonight? She couldn't hold back the tears in her eyes, slowly one rolled down her cheek before falling to the ground. His actions and words sincere, she knew she would see him again.
She was afraid to take the delicate flower from Maion's grasp, she wondered if she could ask Elijah to find a way to connect the stem safely to her mane by her ear? That way, she would be able to keep her rose from harm and also be able to see it in her reflection at the lake. Her gift from Maion...
She looked up, eyes glistening from the tears that formed. She wanted to tell him that her heart was his, that she would wait an eternity for his return if he wanted her to..but she couldn't. All she could bring herself to do was lie there and stare at him.
The orb of the sun finally began to peek over the horizion, the rays no longer the only reminder of what was coming. Again, she would take her post every night at the lake and watch over the skies...she would wait for her gentle giant to return to her.

Nodding towards her his cheeks filled with a soft blush, lowering his head to escape any unnecessary embarrassment he watched Elijah move beyond his eye line towards her, the rose was beautiful but nothing compared to her. With a coy smile he lifted his head once more, the sun was shining in almost full brilliance now but he found himself ignoring it, he had not finished, he would not leave, not yet at least.
As she Elijah approached he spoke, "Would you like Elijah to…" he paused scanning her for a moment for a safe location for his precious gift to her, the only place he could see was her gently blowing long hair. It swayed back and forth in the breeze, he watched it for a moment, mesmerised before forcing himself back to reality and continuing, "…to tie it into your hair for you?" He smiled still sitting beside her with his wings caressing her back softly. He didn’t want to leave her here.

"Amazing..." she thought to herself. Maion had known what she was going to ask. She nodded her head yes and lowered it so that Elijah could easily reach the top of her head and ears. She would wear her rose proudly. She would have to be careful not to bump her head or move it too violently, she would hate for her delicate gift to fall to pieces.
Maion made her feel like a princess...or a goddess, she wasn't sure which was more fitting for the situation at hand. A smile cross her lips as Maion's scent filled her nose as her head was reasting close to his body. She would recall that scent for the lonely nights to come.
As Elijah was working on tieing the rose into her mane, Sengdroma wondered to herself how long it would be before Maion would return. She knew he had a life outside of the lake, she longed to go with him...but was unable. A twinge of jealousy came over her as she thought of her three siblings that had been gifted with wings. Perhaps if she had wings he wouldn't ask for her to wait...if she had wings she could soar through the skies at his side.

The smile continued to glow upon his lips, she had accepted his gift surely that meant she would be here waiting for him to return, he watched as Elijah tied the delicate dried rose into her hair, it suited her well. A beautiful rose for a beautiful mare he thought as he looked upon the radiant image before him. He had never given a gift of this nature to anyone before let alone someone who had intrigued him so. Only time would tell where this story would lead.
Leaning towards her softly he gave her a gentle kiss upon her cheek, her scent filling his nose, her hair tickling his face. He could happily stay here with her forever but even now his duties called; they could be delayed no longer. Yet he also knew the fast he completed them the fast he could return to her side once more, and perhaps one day he could show her his home. Nevertheless the conversation with Scythe returned to him, it was possible his home was reserved for those of Angeni blood, perhaps she would not be able to join him there. It was a thought that saddened him, but even now he knew they could defeat it, if she couldn’t go then they would have to find a new place, a place of their own.
Allowing the moment to linger he reluctantly pulled away from her, his colt like smile still sprawled across his face in a dopey manner as he slowly stood to his feet, Elijah scurried towards him, grabbing at his trailing hairs as she climbed back up towards her hiding place. Time had run away from them all too quickly it seemed. Although it was time to go he stopped and watched her closely, his mind concluding once and for all that she was beautiful.

She lie there a moment more after Maion rose and Elijah scurried back to her position making sure she wasn't left behind. Sengdroma took a snapshot of Maion in her mind, his black coat and mighty wings sprawled against the first light of day. Her security blanket tucked deep within her head while he was gone.
She knew it was time. Slowly she came to her feet, her head hung a little lower than usual, it was time for good bye. She would stand there watching the skies until he was no longer visible, then make her way back to lake....perhaps vising her parents first though. She longed to see a happy couple for some strange reason.
Her eyes intent on Maion, her voice soft. "Good bye..." her words trailed off, but her heart continued a steady pounding in her chest.

He did not wish to say goodbye, it felt so final and destructive, and he did not want to leave her on a sad note as he wanted only happiness to rein strong within his mind as he thought of her. Still smiling he bowed his head low towards her before speaking, "until next time." He paused raising his head once more and speaking one final word, "Moon."
He watched her for a moment longer before turning and looking towards the sunrise, he would fly towards it, eastwardly bound. Taking his first fateful step he gained speed, flapping his wings in an attempt to gain enough momentum to actually achieve flight. One, two, three… he thought as he took to the skies. His hooves hovering above the ground as his altitude increased, it was time to go home, but he knew he heart would remain behind with her.
