Chou looked up, before taking the paw that was stretched out to him, successfully managing himself out of the mud. He fluttered his wings to land on the branch next to Atlas, panting silghtly just out of fear, "Thanks.... What should we do next? I mean, how do we take this thing down? Deimos probably can't hold his own forever, and I doubt that we could either..."

The little angeli frowned, biting his lips as he thought. If the other two could fly like he could, then they could attack from the sky, but Atlas didn't seem to have as much skill as Chou, and Deimos didn't even have his wings yet... He glanced around. Vines were everywhere... Wait. He'd read a book once where one tiny boy took down a monster ith some rope... They could toally do that, right?

"Let's trip him up." he said as he looked over at Atlas, "We can trip him up with the vines, and then think of another plan from there." so simple it was almost idiotic... Hopefully Atlas would help...

Atlas was glad the male grabbed his paw quickly. He didn't want to leave Deimos for too long. He tugged roughly and was relieved that Chou came out faster than last time. "No prob." he said, loooking around distractedly. He was looking around for something that could help them, a large pointy root maybe. He looked at Chou when he offered his idea and agreed. "Right," he nodded. "Let's go get some vines." He hoped Deimos would be able to hold his own for a bit longer and he jumped quickly from root to root, determination making him more skilled. He grabbed the vines as he passed them although some were too heavy and got lost into the mud. When he had all that he could carry, he stuggled back to Chou, tired under the weight of the vines. He almost tripped a few times with the vines unbalancing him but he had quickly adjusted.

Chou helped take some weight off of Atlas' shoulders, taking some of the vines into his mouth, "Mm'kay... You hold 'em here, and I'll fly a few times around his legs, and then we pull." he managed out through gritted teeth. Man, these things were heavy. He turned, frisking his wings, before jumping off, flying with extreme ease as he swirved around the monsters' front, dodgin several mudballs.

Chou went around three times, before he landed on some roots, opposite to where Atlas was. Vines still in mouth, he looked to Atlas, and then to the confused monster, "Pull now!" cme the muffled shout, before Chou pulled back roughly, pressing his claws against the roots...

Atlas was grateful for Chou's help. The vines were seriously giving him wide-mouth ache. He nodded to show he understood and agreed to what Chou was saying. He got ready on the root while staring enviously at Chou's flying ability. He made sure to keep the vines firmly pressed between his teeth and saw Chou land on one side of him, a few lengths away. He pulled as soon as Chou gave the command, and dug his claws into the root. At first, it was hard and it felt like his jaw was going to come right off but after a while, it got easier and he managed to back away, little by little. Too late, he realized there was no more root to go back to and he felt himself falling. Desperatly he flapped his wings and would have fallen if a small breeze hadn't come. He flapped harder and was joyed to find out that he was flying. "Hey! I can fly now!" he called happily. Woops. The vines had fallen out. Luckily, the sudden loss of pressure seemed to have surprised the large creature for it suddenly slipped and fell, great torrents of mud rushing away from it's body.

As soon as the mud thing had been distracted, Deimos did his acrobatics and gained more height until he was near the canopy. He heard... birds? Deimos grinned and began pulling at the leaves. Had they been there so long that it could be... could be...

Just how many leaves were there? They were floating down into the mud that washed out around the other boys when the thing fell. The mud from it's legs separated, then sloshed into the mud.

Deimos had to hurry. He began clawing at the leaves until a faint shine of pink filtered through. It was! Dawn. And if Deimos remembered, the sun dried mud out. He made the hole as big as he could, but grew careless and slipped, smashing into a branch below him, breaking it off. Deimos caught himself on the next branch as the one that snapped fell, taking out a few more with it before they crashed into the mud monster. For once Deimos was hoping the sun would hurry and rise to prove him right. He hurt. Badly. But still began coming back down as the mud monster was trying to get up again.

Chou dropped his vines and watched Deimos as he tore at the leaves, and he flinched a bit at the sunlight. That's when he realised what the other pup was doing. He looked over to Atlas and his new ability to fly, "Atlas, try to make that hole bigger, I'll try to keep that thing down!" he shouted, before turning to the thing that was trying to get up. He began gnawing at a thin root, tearing it off. It was sharp, like a knife.

Taking it into his teeth, he spread his wings and soared towards the beast, dropping the knife like root into it's shoulder. The thingg roared out in pain, and Chou landed a safe distance away. He soared up again to help out Deimos, "You okay? I think that thing is in too much pain to move right now... Hw about you?"

"I've been better..." He said softly. The fight had lasted a long time. A few trees were knocked over, but as the sunlight filtered through the hole in the canopy, the mud creature began drying out. It hadn't realized it until it was too late and began to flake apart. With a groan the thing nearly caved in on itself in a shower of dust and dirt. Deimos couldn't hear anything over his own couching. Man did that smart right now. When he could finally breath again and open his eyes, he glanced around. There was Atlas. And there was Chou. good... he thought and was about to sit down. "Wait, where are those glow-y things?" He looked up and around then in annoyance began to stomp on the dirt that was the monster. "I'm going to tear them apart for getting us into so much danger!" He didn't notice when a green-ish tinted glowing orb approached and hovered over the dirt mound, over the seething Deimos. Another one, a blue and purple one, seemed to peek from around a tree at the trio. Deimos kicked at another mound of dirt in anger, and saw something. A ring? "HOLY BULLHOCK! It moved!" and he began scratching at the dirt to free the thing.

Atlas shook his head in annoyance. The others were the ones leading and he was doing most of the following. Acting childish, he flew to Deimos slowly, acting as if he weren't accustomed to his wings yet. It was a waste of time, though, as Deimos made a large enough hole and fell. Feeling stupid, he landed on a jutting root as the monster dried and... spilled a layer of dust all over him. He coughed and spluttered in surprise, shaking wildly until he could breathe again. He flew onto the brach above him so that the dust wouldn't get him as easily. Looking around, he was relieved to see that the others were ok. His ears perked up suddenly. It was the starnge purple-blue glow he had followed in! He watched as it peeked out from behind a tree and when he turned back to the monster, he called to Deimos, "There's another one behind you!" before leaping and catching the purple-blue glow in his paws.

Chou dropped into the dust beside them, making a huge dust explosion. He coughede and wheezed a little, before shaking off the dirt. He moved over to Deimos, and began helping the pup dig. He pulled as much dirt back as he could, the little green glowy dancing above their heads. He looked up as Atlas caught one of the little buggers, "Hey, Atlas! What are they? Some sort of butterfly?" he called, continuing to dig. If he hadn't been covered in dirt before, he definitely was now...

((It's ok at least it's not a one-liner 8D??))

Atlas called back, "I'm not really sure!" and opened his paws a bit to peek inside. When he brought his eye close enough, the little fairy poked it and he hissed in pain. He pawed at his eye protectively and let the fairy go. She chattered angrily at him and flew closer to the green one to watch the others. Atlas snorted but didn't comment. He didn't think he could catch them in the air and they didn't seem to be doing any harm. Luckily, the others were too busy digging to notice what had just happened... he hoped.

After their paws collided several times in digging, the boys got the third thing free. An purple glowing thing with radiantly sunset colored wings. Is circled once around the boys then joined the others above them. The three seemed to be dancing now. Deimos growled a little again. "I guess they wanted us to save their friend." After a moment, he snorted, then started laughing. Soon he was on his back cackling crazily. "HAAAAAA! We're heroes!"

Chou quirked an eyebrow at the other boy's sudden outburst, remaining silent. How odd. Did he have swamp fever, or was this his actual personality? He gave a light chuckle, moving to stand on all fours, tail waving abck and forth. He smiled lightly, "I guess we kinda are, aren't we?" he said softly, before he let out a little gasp.

One of he faeries had danced down, and was now gently sitting at the end of his nose. He stared cross eyed at the glowing little thing, blinking in confusion, before smiling, "You're welcome." he said to the sparkly little thing, flicking out his tongue to lick ehr toes. Her giggling sounded like bells... So pretty....

Atlas looked at Deimos with one eye, blinking rapidly with his other until it stopped stinging. "I suppose althought you guys could've said something about it." he looked accusingly at the glowing balls of light. The purple-blue one came close to him and said what seemed to be something like "Well it's your fault for following me in the first place." but it was hard to tell with all the tinkling. Pretending not to understand, he turned and walked toward the others, "accidentally" kicking dust at the ball of purple-blue light as he left. At least Chou seemed to be getting along with them, Atlas thought. When he almost reached them, he tripped on a stray root, partly hidden by the dust and fell. He could hear the wild tinkling of laughted behind him and he shot the fairy a glare before getting up and brushing himself off. "So they wanted us to save this one?" he said, peering up at the sunset-colored fairy.

Still chuckling, Deimos stopped moving too much and the rescued fairy settled on one of Deimos's paws. "I guess so." He craned his neck in time to have seen Atlas fall, but didn't say anything about it. He looked over to Chou. "I think it likes you." He mused, observing the little thing and how happy it seemed. "Hey little one, want to get out of the swamp with me?" He looked to the one sitting on his paw. She seemed to giggle a little. "I'll take that as a yes." He blew lightly at her until she got off his paw. When Deimos righted himself and shook the dust from his fur the little orb landed between his ears, settling down happily.

Atlas settled down softly, so the dust wouldn't fly up as much and heard the purple-blue fairy come closer. "Guess I'm stuck with you." she said. He snorted and retorted back, "I could say the same about you." He watched the others. They seemed to be getting along with their fairies just fine. He figured it was probably his fault, since he stuck her in his paw but he didn't bother apologizing. It was partly her fault, too. She could've just left him on the roots. He sighed and laid down and the little fairy tugged at his tail. "Hey! Stop that!" he yelled. He brought his tail close to him protectively and said, "What's your name anyways?" She floated closer and tinkled back, "What's yours?" Atlas sighed. This partnership sure was starting out well.
