Though he's old.. Yoshiki's kinda hawt.
I can't believe he turned 40 last month...

But I don't care. He IS hawt. xD

He's not THAT old. And he looks a lot younger than he actually is.

OMG he's younger than my exhusband?

O_o

Wow.

:X

I was squealing like an idjit when I found out he was doing a horror movie soundtrack.

Now I'm just speechless. Always thought he was way older than me. 8 years? That's nothin. I feel less weird about having *ahem* overexamined a few pictures of him.

My favorite moment when I was in Tokyo was sitting at a nearly empty karaoke bar with this lady in her fifties - a stranger who had noticed the section I was looking at in the karaoke book - and ending up arguing over who was the hotter member of <>, Yoshiki or hide.

She was a hide fangirl, of course...

I can't believe how neglected this thread has been in the past year. Dx
[Yoshiki's 41 now.]

Anyway, your karaoke bar story was cute. ^^
[And for the record, I think Yoshiki is sexier. To me, hide-sama was more cute than sexy. Kinda like Miyavi.]

There are a lot of neglected threads on this board. This community needs some action. :p

I didn't even notice the dates on any of the posts I've posted to... I'm just looking for some interaction. *tortured look*

I agree with you ... hide was cute moreso than sexy. Impressively cute, even, but ... not mopey-draped-across-the-piano-in-eyeliner-oh-gawd-the-chiseled-abs-I'm-never-going -to-wash-these-eyes-again SMEXAY.

(As I was typing this, "Silent Jealousy" came on... I never mentioned what my favorite <> song happened to be, because it's sort of a tie between "Endless Rain", "Silent Jealousy", and "Longing", depending on my mood on any given day.)

OT, sort of: I've never gotten the Miyavi thing, but I would never dare say that in the appropriate thread lest I get torn apart by rabid fangirls. He doesn't even make my Top 5 of Jrock Hawtness (and a couple of his songs actively grate on me, haha... kinda like Gackt, who's really hot and whose style is awesome, but sometimes his songwriting has me at a loss for positive words)

I don't mind if you bring back topics. They need some life breathed into them. ^^;

And there's hardly a better day to have the X Japan thread active than on hide-sama's birthday.~

Man, I know people who don't even listen to anything Japanese, and they know who Yoshiki is.

It's amazing, actually, how he's (without contest) the most influential musician in modern Asian music.

He's like, right up there with folks like the Sex Pistols and David Bowie and Green River/Mudhoney, you know, the whole "started a big genre" thing.

The only X song I've got is "Scars". I want Art of Life.

I like Scars
Art of Life was never really one of my favorites..maybe because it was too long xd
Meh i'm not sure but i really adore Crusify my Love.
That song is so beautiful, I'm always singing it and my brother throws something at me and tells me to shut up

::sighs:: I'm listening to the Last Live (got my paws on the cd for way cheap ::covet:: ).

Sometimes I forget how much I really really loved them.
It makes me sad and happy at the same time.

Does anyone think that the Dir en Grey Limewire result "Rain" could be a faux-pas in the manner of "Scars" and be X's "Endless Rain"? I haven't actually downloaded and listened yet.

wha?
I dont trust anybody's labels on P2P programs anymore, because clearly people don't know how to rip or label their tracks properly ^_^;;

Thats random...the only Diru song I know of with Rain in the title is Ryoujoku no Ame...
Why would someone label an XJapan song as a Diru song?

I don't know why, but they do it. "Scars" is the most popular mistake, it seems.

People are weird -_-;

Anyway. I've ripped and uploaded all 3 CDs of The Last Live to 320 kbs if anyone wants it.
Its a HUGE file (3 CDs, 320kbs, yeaaaaahhh...) but it embodies XJapan's greatness.
PM me if you're interested.

Oh! Oh! Hell yeah I want it! =]
I just finished watching The Last Live, so I'll be needing that rip. Expect a PM from me x3

I won't even bother expressing the greatness of X Japan, because why bother? Like you guys don't know.
I just wished I knew about them years ago, when they were together. Their music are amazing. My favorites are Scar, Rusty Nail, Kurenai, Forever Love & Endless Rain.
