Thanks for the tutorial, DP! It was really helpful. I just finished one of my three costumes for YasumiCon (which is in three days crying ), hide: One part of the costume is missing in that picture, which is a towel around my neck. If you know who hide is and his whole story, you'll know why I'll probably get beaten to death by some of his fans at the con.

(I agree, you probably WILL get beaten to death by hide fans if you do the towel thing...but hey, it's original...) I still like it though.

I'm not doing it for originality, I'm doing it for two reasons: most hide fans are annoying, and I hate what hide has become now. Whenever I get into a conversation about hide with one of his fans, they ALWAYS have to bring up his death. It's like, "Yeah, you like hide?" "Yes, I miss him so much!! RIP!!! crying " Jeez, people need to get over it, he's been dead for seven years. I was really upset when I found out, but I got over it. You don't see Beatles fans talking about John or George's deaths all the time. And most of the hide fans that are like that didn't even know him when he died. They got into him several years after, so it wasn't even as bad for them as it was for people who liked him when he was alive. Second of all, I'm pissed off at how commercialized he's become after his death. It happens to almost every star, and it's part of business, but hide has been so overdone, it's ridiculous. I mean, for Pete's sake, they're selling hide shower curtains now! Come on! They didn't go that far with Kurt Cobain or Tu-Pac. Here's a picture someone I know made expounding on this: On top of all of that, I bet if hide could see this right now, he'd be laughing. He was just the kind of person with the right sense of humor. All these fans that are yelling, "omg that's so disrespectful hide would hate you!" obviously don't know what kind of person he was, 'cause he'd enjoy it. So, that's my whole opinion on the subject. Still, people aren't gonna know that at the con and I'm probably gonna be in for an interesting day. Especially since I'm hosting a jrock panel.

Okay these are some really amazing costumes! Have to say the two that stood out most to me were Kohaku (I *ADORE* wish... that costume so rocked!) and Periru from Sm. What stands out to me is the details usually....you had the bag of cookies..... heart

Amai Sakura-chan Mgna.... heres me sounding like a compleate moron...but I have to ask...who is Hyde and what doies a towel have to do with anything?I mean.....was it suspised to be a scarf...or was he strangled with one...?hide (Hyde is a different person) was a Japanese rockstar in Japan, and he commited suicide by accidently hanging himself with a towel. If that was supposed to be an edit, someone might want to mention that. And personally, I think it's rather disgusting to want to cosplay hide with a towel around your neck. I mean, yeah, I can understand your points about the commercialism and all that, but to mock ANYONE's death like that, whether or not they'd find it amusing, is just plain poor taste.

^_^ First day here, and naturally this is the first thread I check out, eh? I am amazed at the talent here, the costumes are all so wonderful! I really liked the Heather one, I'm currently trying to make my way through that game.
I don't currently have the pictures of me up on the internet anywhere, but I think I can find the images of the only two cosplay I have somewhere. (unless you count all my Ren garb...)
The two costumes I did were of Milly from Trigun (I'm still working on the Stungun) and Farfarello from Weiß Kreuz. I am going to get a new wig, though, since the last one was butchered. *sigh*
I wish I were able to make patterns myself, but in reality what I have for costumes are either made by others by altering patterns, or by me by altering found items. I do make all the accessories, though... And I am going to work on improving the trench coat for Milly. You'll see what I mean when I get the pictures up. ^_^

First day here as well. I'm very bad at cosplay, so most of my stuff is pretty newbie. The most recent one, which I wore to San Diego comic con was an officer's uniform from the EFSF is Mobile Suit Gundam. That was a shot right after it was finished it, so my hair is all... blah... And those boots = Hard on the feet.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v138/Zrana/gaiasilly/cosplay/A collection of my cosplay pictures. But here's my most recent finished cosplay and the best picture of it I've found so far. The Inos are multiplying, the Inos are multiplying! I designed the pattern, and my mom helped me clarify it and show me how to assemble it. She made the sleeves while I was ironing and pinning stuff (she made them too long first, then too tight... finally got them right). And yes, that's a Sasuke keychain dangling off my shirt. I didn't do the wrappings around my legs cuz I didn't have enough ribbon. No ribbon looked better than half-assed ribbon coverage.

I recognized you! But you were always headed one way while I was headed the other and I couldn't remember who you were, but I recognized you. I know of so many anime/manga characters the I have brainfarts on characters from series that I'm not completely familar with. sweatdrop
There was also a hiei that I saw around and about fairly regularly, but I was brainfarting on her costume as well (I think it was a girl cosplayer anyways). I'm not a big Yuyu Hakusho fan >.>;;; But I don't hate it--it's just not one of my favorites.

I've done Ino as well, and I'm glad more people are cosplaying Ino. Just wow. Great job. :B
