The yellow lioness's mouth opened happily and she gasped. "Oh!" She remembered that name from only a short while ago. It had sounded so nice then, and now it sounded even nicer. It fit her, she thought. It sounded nice, and it felt right. There was just something about it all that made her feel just a little more complete. "I really like that. Jini." She repeated it, letting the sound roll around in her head for a few more moments. Yes, that was perfect. She couldn't have come up with something better even herself!

She looked expectantly at her grandma, waiting for her to finish. She tried not too look too excited, as she still didn't want to rush the poor girl, but she just couldn't help it! This was something that all swampies looked forward to as a huge step in their life, and it was finally happening. And in a way she never would've thought, at that. It was just so darned exciting!

"Jini'dosari," she said finally, decisively, eying the spots that the young lioness had on her shoulders. It was simple, it sounded nice, it combined two important things- her beautiful soul and her beautiful form. Mtima was happy to adopt the loving bias for her granddaughter, she had only ever seemed to deal with boys this personally. Her brothers, Kizamaji, Wahabu, the two sons she'd talked to privately before going to meet the others, the chat with Pepo.. Kilango had been a disappointing cub, and now that she had grown up into a good lioness, Mtima kept her distance. She benefited from the distance.

No, this was wonderful.

"Jini'dosari." She repeated it after her grandma, trying it out like a new pair of shoes. Yes, she thought. It was simple, like she was. It was sweet, it was short, it was everything that she was herself... and it was wonderful. It fit her like nothing ever had. Oh yes, her Grandma had done good here. Very good. It made her transformation complete, in fact. She was a new lioness. She was Jini'dosari. She had a family, she had a name, she had a goal. She had a new direction, a new outlook, a new past. Everything had been changed, yet, at the same time, it was all so familiar. It was a very strange feeling, but it was a good one.

"Thank you." She Moved forward quickly to nuzzle Mtima again, this time without the tears. She refused to think about anything else the pair had discussed besides the fact that she was now Jini. At least, for now.

Mtima was back on her feet immediately, and returned the nuzzle gladly. This wasn't something she experienced a great deal, this was her mortal family and this was such a strong reminder of what she missed when she was away, when she refused to stay. But she could visit, and she would visit. She would not forget Jini'dosari's soul, and she could use that to find her again wherever she was.

The goddess wanted to give her something. Giving her the name went two ways, Shemshi got her name and Mtima had the connection to her that came from it. Mtima'safi could truly be sentimental when the occasion arose. On several occasions before, Mtima had given feathers to those she was close to. But that didn't seem right this time.

"Here.."

So Mtima stepped back a bit and ducked down. It took a bit of effort but she slid her necklace off of her neck, a fuzzy imprint of where it had been for so long left behind- and with a clink it caught on to her circlet and both came off. And not giving Jini a chance to argue, Mtima carefully placed the necklace over Jini's head and nosed it around so the opal heart was centered. Then she picked up the circlet and placed that on her head as well, taking a moment to gently pull Jini's hair tuft through. She was taking a chance that the young lioness would not like them, but she was not obligated to keep them on, to wear them always. But it was a gift. They were just the right size, though.

"There," she said with a bright smile, and a quick shake of her own head as she adjusted to the sudden lightness around her neck and on her head.

Part of Jini wanted to back away, but she resisted. She felt like she didn't deserve such a great gift as this. After all, she (indirectly, but still) had caused a lot of trouble for her grandma. And in return for this, Mtima had given her a new name. And a new direction. And a sense of family. And a sense of belonging. And now, on top of that... this necklace and this circlet? Jini definitely didn't feel she deserved it.

"Th - thank you." She wasn't sure what to say, only looked up at her forehead (or tried to, rather) with awe in her eyes. She looked down at the heart on her chest, watched it move slowly as she breathed. Slowly, she looked back up at Mtima. "Thank you. Really. I love them." She wiggled her head a little, trying to get used to the light weight of the circlet and the small tug of the pendant. It would take a little getting used to, for certain, but she'd do it. This set of jewlery wasn't coming off. "How do I look?" She stretched out her neck and held her head a tad higher to show off the necklace.

"You look beautiful," she said, still beaming. They certain suited her. Her eyes went to the shimmering opal now around Jini's neck, and she looked up to explain the meaning, the reason she had the jewels she had.

"It's an opal," she explained, "It is for guidance on spiritual journeys, though in this case I'd say it marks the end of one part and the start of another. The gold symbolizes a connection to the divine, to me." She beamed after her short explanations. Symbolism was relative, but those were reasons she wore what she did. It suited Jini'dosari as much as it did Mtima'safi, perhaps more.

"They suit you, Jini'dosari."

Jini glowed. She could feel her whole body smiling. "Thank you." She looked back down at the sparkling heart on her chest, partially out of slight embarassment for being the topic of discussion and also because she just couldn't help but look at it. As her grandma went on to explain what it meant, she felt even happier. It was so fitting, really. After all, with everything that was going to happen soon... She'd need all the guidance she could get. And she liked the idea of having a connection to Mtima, symbolicly and physically. "That is rather fitting..."

She looked back up at Mtima and beamed. "Thank you. Thank you for everything." In such a short amount of time, the goddess had given her so much. Jini only wished she had more to give her in return.

"You're welcome," the goddess replied lightly, happily. It was a perfect end to a less than cheerful quest, and finally she was convinced that everything would work out and she had done the right thing. Amadet was a fool for giving up her cubs, and meeting them, even only two of the six.. it was enough to make it unquestionable.

"Now, I'm afraid I have to be going- Uha will be happy to hear I've found you!" she said brightly, "If you need me, don't hesitate to call for me. I'll know how to find you."

Jini considered asking who Uha was, but she didn't want to stall her grandma any longer. After all, she'd already taken a nice chunk of time out of what must be a busy schedule. She wasn't all that sure what goddesses did, but it must be important. Plus, she wanted to go somewhere quiet and think. Maybe walk around for a bit. Walking helped her think. So did sitting in water, but since there was a distinct lack of water in the savannah, she opted for walking around instead.

"I'll do that!" She beamed, nodding enthusiastically. She wasn't really sure how to go about calling for Mtima, but she'd figure it out. And if she couldn't figure it out... Maybe Habu would know. That one little thought warmed her right through. Asking her dad to help her find her grandma. That was something she had never considered a possibility before. "I don't know how long I'll stay with all of them in the Pridelands... But come see, alright?" She looked hopefully up at her, swishing her tail from side to side.

Mtima felt accomplished, but more than that she felt happy. Her family was whole again, in its own odd little way. Shemshi was no longer lost, and hopefully all would be settled with Wahabu soon. She would be very happy to visit them again, she didn't need an inviation- but it made her smile to be asked.

"Of course," she agreed brightly, stretching out her wings and preparing to go find Uha- she would probably have to explain the missing jewelery now as well, "If you're not there, perhaps I will visit in the Swamps. Good luck, Jini'dosari." With a smile, she leaned and brushed against the young lioness affectionately before turning and making her way off to find where she had left Uha.
