Power(s): Sam's power is basically super, nth dimension level intelligence. To put it quite simply, she is smarter than should be possible for a life form of our kind. She is Steven Hawkins to Steven Hawkins. To her, an average person's intellect is like a normal human's to an ant's. She can, as one of the HUNTERS members elegantly put, "McGyver a missile out of radio shack fodder."

Her cognitive speed and power has not been matched by any known life form to live on earth, or have ever visited the milky way. In fact, she often complains that she would get things done much faster if her body would do things as fast as her brain figure out how to do them.

Background: Born smarter than any being on the planet Samantha, born Anastasia Borkov, was self aware the moment she was birthed and could talk in broken sentences within a few hours of birth from just hearing people talking around her.

Thought to be an abomination her parents left her up for adoption. Though the orphanage she grew up in was a good one, with kind staff that actually cared for their charges Samantha yearned for a true family, yet her vast intellect and inability to filter it put off most possible parents as she almost constantly demeaned and talked down to them without meaning to.

When she was 8 she had the mental cognitive maturity of a full grown adult and understood the world in a way that most could not hope to. Around this time she was visited by Julia Hunter, the found of the HUNTER initiative and the mutant known as "Feral". She posed as a woman looking for adoption, but Sam saw through her guise fairly quickly. However, after a short explanation that she knew about Sam's gifts and what she wanted of her, Sam agreed quickly, surprising Julia as the ease at which she took on the responsibility.

As she was put tot he test as a new member she master every possible problem or scenario given to her in impossibly fast times, her brain working faster than the projected and theoretical speeds at which a quantum processing super computer could function at. She was placed as the team's lead tech operator, coordinator and 'tower control'. She found she enjoyed conversation with Tara Illias the most, as her genius intellect allowed for what was the closest match Sam had come to a engaging exchange since her birth.

When the team split after the unfortunate revelation of one of their members being a double agent and the ensuing fight Sam left and managed to accumulated a trail of masters and P.h.d degrees long enough to make a tree out of in the 8 years before Tara began gathering the group back together. Sam was one of the first to join back up, finding that it had been the greatest challenge for her intellect to date.

Other: Can master any language, including all sub-dialects and accents within a few hours with access to the appropriate materials or someone who speaks it fluently. Already knows how to speak most languages in the world, including some dead ones. Can actually keep up a conversation in multiple languages at once and can switch between languages from phrase to phrase, which she does when she is trying to through off people she might think are listening.

Background: Rand has for as long as he cares to remember been afflicted with this bane to his existence. What he calls the “Midas Touch” has been sought after for many years by just about every crook to ever lay his or her hands upon easy money. He has little memory of the time before having the ability he attributes this to the high stress factor of being on the run from the government. The only other person who knows of his problem is Steve Pacino, his close friend. He has been on the run with Cino for several months and has found his way back to Fahrenheit Valley, where he was born.

It is currently unknown as to where the material vanishes to or if it is destroyed completely. She can make a 10x10x10 ft chunk vanish from about 20 ft away and the size shrinks as the distance grows.

Background: To say that Margret Lily Von Shoff is a hard to understand and frustrating person is a heavy understatement. As heiress to the huge Von Shoff estate just outside Capital City where she lives alone in a gigantic 14 room mansion she has filled to the brim with books of all kind she lives a very strange life. She simply walks the street of Capital City all day with her head in the clouds talking to herself. She occasionally makes large chunks of buildings vanish (though none have ever collapsed) or make mailboxes and fire hydrants cease to exist to break up the monopoly. When she gets hungry she goes to a four or five star resturant (where she pays in cash) and eats then continues on her journey. She wears plain clothing and doesn't brush her hair and many people assume she's homeless, which is quite a feat for one of the richest women in Fahrenheit.

Other: Is generally harmless until she gets frustrated.

Background: Oz is a detective from the 1930's who was stabbed to death in the boiler room of the Grand Marquee Hotel by a man he was stalking. His spirit remained unable to contact the outside world until Reaper made his base in the boiler room and made friends with him. He now helps solve crimes in the same way he did decades before.

Power(s): Artificial Extremity Manipulation: Through unknown means Stifle can manipulate the scarves that encase her body as if they were extensions of her own body. She can make them hard as diamond or sharp as a scalpel. She uses them to walk and can reach speeds of up to 40 miles an hour and can lift up to five tons.

Background: At one time Octavia Ann Vandersloot was a popular egmatic classical violin player, a prodigy since the age of five. Now most people know her by Stifle, a sadistic criminal who's only purpose is to serve her own twisted desires. Her origin is still a mystery, but it all roots back to her kidnapping by a criminal group intending to ransom her. When her father refused the ransom the group sold her to a medical research company named Mercorp. What happened in the facility is unknown but she emerged by force with a mind and body twisted by Mercorp Science.

Name: Blake "Dark Horse" Gruden

Age: 25

Occupation: High ranking member of the Irish Mafia, exact position unknown, few know of his true level of influence.

Alignment: really chaotic evil

Power(s):
Blake has the power of thermal manipulation. At it's core this means that Blake has the ability to alter the energy state of the molecules around him and in his body. Put simply it means he can increase or decrease the temperature of himself and other things. Though on few occasion Blake has been know to decrease the temperature of things, it seems to be much harder for him that heating them up, possibly tied to a mental issue of because of his personality.

The roof of what exact temperature Blake can reach as not yet been found, mostly due to the fact that he has never really needed to go beyond a certain point with his powers, but due to the fact that maintaining the temperature that he has thus far declare as his max takes a great deal of effort to achieve and maintain, one would assume that there is a limit, Blake has just never reached for it. Due to his ability to alter the heat of things, he has been seen igniting the air in flames, and increasing the temperature of his body to incredible levels. Blake has mentioned that he sees in infrared in his right eye (the red colored one)

Blake has also show the ability to control the movements of materials or energy that have become superheated, whether by his powers or by natural effect. Meaning that a crowbar that he just melted is, for the most part, his to throw at someone at will. There all limits to how much he can manipulate, usually depending on how high of a temperature the material is at the time. He has shown some ability to control the movement of lightning and electricity, due to its incredibly high energy and heat index, but never the creation of it, nor the ability to draw if from power lines of wall sockets.

Skill(s): A skilled pickpocket and lock pick, with experience in vault cracking as well. Recruited at a young age into the local mafia, Blake has a thorough understanding of power struggles, politics and a vast knowledge of the street and how best of get people to go along with what he wants and how to force them through pain if necessary.

Strengths: Crazed and paranoid, yet also incredibly sharp and street smart. Blake is what you would call eccentric to the point of unhinged. Manipulative and charming, his wit and sharp tongue have gotten him into as much trouble as it has gotten him out of. Of all things Blake sees raw power as the one true language between people, and that if someone cast listen to that language, they are just taking up space.

Weaknesses: While using his powers cold is always an issue, as is water. Though he has been known on a few occasions to be able to evaporate a small pool's worth of water instantly, such efforts are tiring. Surround him in a endothermic reaction and he's screwed. Likes random destruction a bit to much, for as good as he is at what he does, sometimes he makes too much of a mess and is sloppy about things.

Likes: Cooking, Books (The Art of War, Battle Royal, etc), himself

Dislikes: Uptight people, people who plan too much (simply plans can be the most deceptive), cold.

Background: Born in the Bronx to a middle class Scottish / Irish family that owned a bakery Blake's life started fairly normally. However his family lived in one of the spheres of influence that the Irish Mafia operated in. Protection money was a common factor in their monthly finances and they dealt with it until eventually Blake father had had enough and refused to pay. After an initial warning as to the consequences, he was shot, as was his wife, then they burned the house down not knowing Blake to be in it.

Blake took tot he street after that, roaming with gangs and developing a knack for pickpocketing, lock picking and vault cracking. One night was trying to break up a personal safe the man of the house woke up and surprised him from behind with the back of his rifle. While he was groggy he felt himself being positioned standing up against a door frame. He remembered then that the house belong to someone in the mid level of the mafia and that they were probably setting up to look like he was killed when coming at the man. In a reflex to defend himself he melted the bullets that were fired at him, and then set fire to the entire house in a burst of heat that nearly flash incinerate the entire building.

The project Omega team was there in under three hours, tracked him down and took him. When the facility was destroyed and he was freed he went wild. He destroyed anything he could get his hands on and personally killed all the scientists that operated on him before he was restrained by the HUNTERS. He was 15.

On his transfer to a holding cell his powers were underestimated and he overpowered the machine that kept his temperature from exceeding normal levels. It was at this time that he manifested the ability to superheat his own body until his skin radiated orange, then red, then white, then black with bright red cracks lining his body. Hot enough to melt anything within five feet of his body by the last stage. His body does not ignite in flame, but the air at the edge of his heat range is constantly combustive and catching flame. He melted the truck carrying him and killed the guards by touching their foreheads, instantly frying their brains.

When he returned to New York at 20 he began his climb among the Mafia through uses of his guile, powers and fear tactics gaining incredible influence by 25, earning his the nickname of "Dark Horse". He now resides in Fahrenheit for the time as he fells that things are going to be interesting there soon.

He and Zack Ryder (Arbor) have bad blood from their time at Project Omega. Arbor's earth shield is one of the few things that can stand almost any index of heat that Black has thrown at it. And Arbor seems to be able to stand higher heats than a normal human, allowing him to combat Blake in close quarters for long periods without passing out from heat.

Usually wears casual suits, or simple jeans and t-shirts. Is currently have an physical affair with one of the other Mafia boss' daughters.
